seeing that a ranger and an elementalist make simply pointless to defend on walls

get a staff elementalist – meteor showere – drop it under the wall (withouth problems of “out of sight”) and destroy every kind of stupid players that defend.

really really – fed up of seeing those things from 3 years now

cleansing syngergy: removes all stacks (seems to remove all of them)
Healing Mist and Elixir Shell: remove a condition with alchemical tinctures

Transmute: Updated this trait to use the standard conversion list for conditions into boons and to affect all stacks of a condition. (dont manage to understand in wvw if it works properly – sometimes is so fast to fight – and die – you dont understand)
definitely is not working on the 2nd skill of cannon when you get 10stacks of bleeding – converts only 1 – so you have the other 9 “working”

Healing Turret—Cleansing Burst and AMR: doesn’t seem to reset the cd with amr

and learn some playing? instead of getting stability from guardians you have around?

then if you think you are good as engi – maybe you use rifle? pierce 1200 range wow!

have u ever used pistol shield? or ever used elixir gun?

try using them now – but roaming – or in little parties – not with your guild around keeping you alive

hello -

the only way for engineer to handle conditions spawn – is… use elixirs!
other stuff like sigil of cleansing is simple not enough -
tons of classes have spawn of 2+ conditions in so little cds -

we MUST put up alchemy line to handle “some” of them or play offensively (maybe is this you want anet?)

i suggest to rework some things in inventions core… seeing is should be “support” or defensive

Cleansing Synergy 10s icd on healing – yes – nice – if you can use a healing turret! in some matches (and speaking of wvw where balance is far far away) cant even use heal once

rework it as some traits that most of classes have : 10s icd – remove 1 condition

bunker down: icd 2s – healing and regen – well put up icd to 5? 10? put that thing works as remove 1 condition

med kit? get away the throw stimulant! we want it as the old med kit – in front of our engineer

Autodefense Bomb Dispenser smoke field! and break stun!

elixir gun range for 1st skill of 1200 range

pistol range 1050

Anet likes to do big changes – but at the end loves pve -

then pvp then wvw

oterwise some changes wouldnt have been done.

confusion at first: 100 damage on skill use – 200 damage over time
over time? this is done only because mobs in pve dont do skills! or so little!
so how to buff confusion condition in pve? lets put damage over time!

this is simply hilarious in wvw (shatterer mesmers at first – engineers – necromancers – warriors – guardians – whatever class that have access to cc or interrupts)

have you Anet realized that removal conditions is the same as before but conditions are spawned by every class in every skills basically?

anet was saying “variety of builds”

well i dont see varietys of builds at all
even more: berserk or dire-rabid or soldier

armor/toughness:

tons of things that can change the values of damages – true (vulnerability mainly then fury-might)

but….

skills that should do from 500 to 1000 damage (on a 2600 armor based characters – no buffs no debuffs) – with a few buffs like vulnerability – fury – might goes to 3000 or more damage -

something is weird then!

whats the point of having 3k armor? when before was “enough” to do something in wvw?

line of sight:

you Anet have changed the Arrow Carts line of sight – wow nice! but when are you correcting the players line of sight?

in wvw its simply impossible to stand on the wall and to put sieges if 2+ rangers or elementalists are under there – cant target them and they throw their meteor shower or 5th skill of lb

this applies even to engineers that can usese flamethrower behind the gate – or necromancers deathshroud that steal lifes from who is standing on the walls!

bugs:

minor or bigger bugs here and there – traits that dont work – or triggers sometimes – and even wors different skills (weapons or utilities) that don’t work -
some weapons and utilities skills aren’t working from the start of the game, 3 years ago!

how should i use some skills or weapons – if it has bugs???

(we can do a long list here of weapons-kits that dont work properly or SOMETIMES)

1) healing turret cleansing burst not stacking with healing power
2) autosmoke bomb despenser – smoke field (or change tooltip)
3) amr not resetting healing turret cleansing burst
4) soothing detonation not healing caster
5) magnet of toolkit isnt reliable
6) skill queue
7) alchemy transmute:
make it work that it converts X stacks of a condition (weapon or utility skill) to boon – all of them – not only 1 stack – or change tooltip (incoming condition – not incoming conditionS)
8) tools core – reactive lens – check and fix – because on some knockdown-knockback – doesnt trigger at all

as i posted more and more than one time, its not a question on how some conditions have become “heavy” going.

is how those “heavy” conditions (burning-confusion-torment to say some) can be applied basically perma. so…

one question then comes out… “condition removal are the same” well, then its not enough

so a rework of condition removal or a rework on how fast (traits-utility skills-weapon skills) on how some conditions are applied

Death of Cleric's Engineer and Healer

Did you even read their post?
They know about the other builds and stat combos. They’re lamenting the loss of what was probably their own favourite playing style- supporting others via healing.
Whether or not the rest of you agreed with it, or outright kicked players from your groups for it, doesn’t mean it wasn’t a thing in the past. I’d mixed and matched armours, weapons, and accessories for a mix of healing and damage and to good effect before the update. Healing doesn’t work as well now, certainly not in WvW or PVE for Engineers as once it did.
The stats changes had little effect on healing by comparison to our traitings. There once was a compromise, a way to do solid sustainable healing whilst damaging before with healing bombs. Now there is no compromise. Gadgets and turrets are rubbish but that’s a side discussion all its own.
Even so, as you’ve stated, going full damage is often better -if not better in every situation for Engineers now. What was once a choice is now a fait accomplis -kitten ed whether you do or don’t.
Knowing this, and knowing about our getting a dubious new weapon and elite specialisation, which are going to get the least pre-launch exposure and correction, doesn’t make the pill any sweeter to swallow.
The OP is right to be concerned until we’re shown otherwise.

i agree on everything – i played an hybrid build before – but for this and that change (pay attention CHANGE) i lost my game style – after 2 years . yes – then we can talk of what we got in exchange???? moving traits here and there and some were and some are still broken -

at the end of this big 23rd patch is even more simple what to play: berserk-knight or dire-rabid

nothing in the middle – at least for engis – and its for pve-wvw of course

can still have fun running 3kits if not 4 in pvp as celestial pistol-shield
so…

indeed with some “changes” (lets call them even nerf) only rifle is a good weapon dps-damage-range

and example? pistol-shield and eg together (even if eg gains 3 skills with hgh trait) are simply a problem to handle – especially in outnumbered fights in wvw

and yes – again i repeat it – i lost my gamestyle.

and by the way its not a complain on players and on anet – its a state of fact

im engineer – not pro – but know that celestial build with 3 kits (bombs-tk-eg) alchemy-inventions-firearms – is nice bursts of damage-conditions in pvp – and a lot of healing here and there

but its 1 vs 3-4 players at the most… not 1 vs 10

im speaking of some “particular” builds – the burst and those 8s+4s immune to conditions and to damage – berserk stance and endure pain? – put it in a -60% condition duration – and its perfect to kitten a 1 vs 1 – and makes whoever is using a condition build ridiculos (oh yes – escape for those 8-12s)!

Duds – you cant say its not true what i wrote – shall we speak of all the nerfs engis or necros or whatever class got? or what buffs some classes had?

then, if this seems a rage – flame – it isnt against players and people – its against anet -

and think how some classes can win-loose and rely only on a food to be effective in their build -

get an engineer – use perplexity runes – with a core: gets burning-bleeding-confusion basically to +33% put in 2 givers weapons and food its a +95% condition duration

(btw why perplexity runes are out of pvp? maybe because it would be unbalanced?)

ive read-heard of “pvp has restriction” WHAT? restriction?
sorry but i read it as “fair” and “balanced” – surely more than wvw

So basically you think everyone should play a power build and that condition builds should not be viable?
Even with the current state conditions deal significantly less dps than power specs. we need ways to apply MORE conditions, not less.
The exception is the 3 current burn classes, ele, guard and engineer can stack pretty crazy burn burst.

this is the point! to be honest guardians in some builds can apply more burning than eles and engineer – and to be honest that “incendiary powder” so op of engineer – is with a 10s cd – on critical hits – and single target

every class has the “famous burst” – warriors with that berserk stance and endure pain? make ridiculos every kind of condition builds so…

to be honest only complaining on how easy are to apply and which conditions are applied – heavy conditions burning-confusion

until now – only class that had “pressure” with conditions was necromancer – now eles – guardians – engineer – mesmers – rangers …

so something changed ….

“Conditions have their place, but they should be distinct, intentional, and powerful. I feel there are several ways to help right the ship:
1. Conditions should be limited. For example, no skill should apply 10 stacks of confusion.
2. Conditions should be intentional and not apply arbitrary conditions.
3. Short cooldown skills should have short duration conditions.
4. The more often a condition can be applied the shorter its duration should be.
5. Less powerful conditions should have longer durations. A skill that applies vulnerability should last longer than a chill skill.
6. There should be very, few multiple condition skills.
7. Skill that do apply multiple conditions should be coherent. For example, if there was a skill called “Burning Light”, it could apply a short duration blind and burn. It should not apply something like blind and torment.
8. No professions should not have access to all conditions.
9. Actions such as raising the vulnerability cap to 50 and lowering the damage increase to .5% should be considered in balancing, if the amount of stacks players can inflict remains the same.”

im engineer – i know i can apply with bombs heavy conditions – but its risky to play bombs in melee – so could be even fair enough – but still…
5 stacks confusion every 18s – in a power build who cares – but in a hybrid or condition build? or burning trait or bombs – 10s cd -

heavy condition? then heavy cd – simple and easy!

perma confusion (mesmers now) or perma burning (guardians)

we arent speaking of 100-120 tick a second – we are speaking for ticks from 300 to 500 with burning or from 500 to 2k of confusion!

and they apply those conditions in tons of ways – traits – -skill and then runes etc etc

3k armor was good enough to do wvw – and now its basically USELESS!

that tooltips arent ehm helping much, thats sure

but never noticed that in the fractional time they will deal a fractional damage.

but how would work on imobilize or fear? if it lasts less than 1s? wont be applied?
or for 0,55s?

pvp takes all players to be EQUAL.

this is the point of this thread.

and, for you and for everyone reading and think im crying, read and try thinking in general.

get a few skills here and there that apply BASIC – with no +% duration a 1s fear-imobilize etc, that could make you escape – or burst the chain of someone (so used offensively or defensively) and its enought 1s of something to have effect, BUT

with the -20% rune duration – simply goes under 1s duration – and as a result? NO CONDITION APPLIED.

come on – stop everyone thinking of “my main engineer” “my berserk-celestial warrior” etc etc etc

here we are speaking of FAIR and BALANCE – REAL BALANCE.

think even if as condition – i use 2 givers weapons in 2 hands – then put up food
its +60% duration.

1s fear or 1s immobilize +60% gets to 1s 3/4 (and this is still 1s applied for how the conditions applied works)

then this 1s 3/4 reduced by 60-65% whats come out?

less than 1s!!! so wont get applied as well!

this brings us to: A SKILL WASTED AND USELESS!

why are conditions can be only applied if 1s-2s-3s-4s-5s?

why not “tune” the thing that if its 1,5s becomes 1s if its 2,75s becomes 2s ok fine that
but if its 0,75s doesnt get to 0s, but 1s.
otherwise its a skill “wasted” and not useful AT ALL!

and what to say for the duration of conditions and how are considered to be applied from anet?

must be 1s-2s-3s-4s not 3/4 not 1 1/2 etcetcetc

so, as roamer or group – want to apply 1s to imobilize or 1s fear . aoe 5 targets or singleplayer – well someone as enemy could have -20% condition duration food or with some runes

so from 1s -> goes to 0,80s – imobilize wont apply and fear neither – oh, fear will take away 1 stability stack then? or wont be considered??

and, ok we have runes -x% condition, but where are the -20% damage runes?

im asking again to get rid of foods from wvw – whatever kind of food

and reconsider the working of some conditions-cc (imobilize – fear)

1s imobilize – fear – not buffable not debuffable. flat – simple and easy

and player must learn not to rely on a food or rune to win or loose a 1vs1 or a fight 200vs200

ps. yes, for everyone that is asking, yes i want wvw as more similar to pvp –
wanna roam in 3? u get in an even fight vs 3-6 casual roamers u have a chance to win –
3 roamers vs a guild group 10-20 – escape or die

more skill and abilities of the people

less “i have -60% condition duration – 2,5k attack – 80% critical chance – will win vs a condition roamer” because this already happens in wvw

(in pvp – with no crap of condi food / +or- / most of those power builds like this explode vs conditions builds)

when are you thinking of getting foods away from wvw?

get whatever class – set it up berserk-knight with melandru rune or hoelbrack or antitoxin get a food -40% condition duration and voilà -60% or -65%!

simply hilarious!

whatever kind of build hybrid or condition MUST USE same food but +40% to get some conditions applied to any kind of those builds

i want wvw foods removed as in pvp (its enough having some runes that drop conditions duration)

for healing bombs, consider if that “Soothing Detonation”
When you trigger a combo using a blast finisher, allies near the effect are healed.

isnt only for allies but for engineer + 4 allies. then its much better than healing bombs.

i think explosives is much better with bombs-mortar or nades-mortar (i usually wvw) bombs-rb-eg – mortar or crate depends – but the pressure with explosives and bombs – in melee is nice – especially if with evasive powder keg that is a blast… so healing – might – etc etc

bombs can be used defensively (stack might – stealth) as offensively (54321) – or in disengaging (escaping) dropping 32415 if someone is next to you

and with vulnerability they have the pressure if 5 targets or more are on u – someone will die in that group

firearms-alchemy/inventions – tools is perfect for condition-hybrid builds-power – in pvp (a nice burst of bleeding – critical hit – incendiary powder on critical – basically in a 1 vs 2-3 at the most (this is ofc my opinion)

but explosives and mortar => gain a ton of damage – vuln aoe in wvw fights

Throwing or consuming elixirs removes conditions from those affected. Your boon duration is increased.

wow nice. but 4 skills are affected by hgh – reduction and 2 stack of might but not from those traits.

elixir gun: Acid Bomb, Super Elixir, and Healing Mist are categorized as Elixir skills in-game, they do not benefit from Alchemical Tinctures.

i use bombs – does the same thing of nades –
1st-3rd skill (bomb and concussion bomb) miss
if its 2-4-5 skill that pulses miss 1st pulse then the others hit

yeah when they will correct amr with healing turret and the cleansing burst stack with healing power – could sort out somethings.

btw, i forgot to say that now toolkit is a MUST in all engis build (doing pvp – wvw of course) with the nice group buff that everyone got here and there with some traits

we could do the best healer in the game, even better than eles, if only traits were working! LOL

hello.

i found out recently that healing turret isnt working properly if traited with “inventions” core (amr-mechalegs-bunker down).

in a celestial build – with 520 healing power (boosted up to 770 from minor trait regen up gain 250 healing power) works like this:

no regen on:
around 2780 healing turret (gain regen – healing power 770)
around 2520 Cleansing Burst

where is the stack of healing power?

similar situation:
regen on: (healing power 770)

around 2850 healing turret
around 2520 Cleansing Burst

water field stacks up with healing power- so goes from around 1300 to around 1450

similar stuff is with AMR:

sometimes it recharge healing turret and cleansing burst – sometimes you have only healing turret

whats the point then of having this nice trait if it doesnt work?

hello.
after 2 months of testing it in whatever kind of core.

i can see those things:
bombs – a lot of speaking of baseline stuff – and then… streamlined kits bombs is 240 pull and big o bomb is 300 – while rest of the skills is 180. nice! (a mixed of radius increased and no radius)

elixir gun – got the nice debuff to original state – 900.
as pistol 900 – so…

if in pve is ok having pistol and-or eg to support and for some condis –
those are basically impossible to use in wvw.

rifle was 1000? oh no – to short – so buff it to 1200.

but pistol – elixir gun no way.

then explain me how can you get in a fight in wvw 5vs5 with 900 range and while 2 rangers – mesmers – necros are shooting from 1200 or 1500

dont tell me mortar kit – mortar kit is NICE only if you are in a zerg – condis? damage? fields? nice – but it acts as the old grenadier trait – telegraphs – so if its ok from 0 to 1000-1200 range – after gets useless.

general bugs here and there :

inventions:
Autodefense Bomb Dispenser .- where is the combo field smoke? to much stealth for engi otherwise?
soothing detonation: Does not apply to the caster itself. – this should act as the old infused elixirs bombs – and it doesnt. i heal the others and i die…

explosives core:
Glass Cannon why is that there? what is the use of that trait? for zergs?
short fuse should be there – as grenadier is.

alchemy:
transmute: 15s cooldown and converts 1 condition to boon. but there are skills that drop 2/5/10 stacks of a single condition . and that isnt the same condition applied at the same moment?
(wvw: cannons – get 10stack of bleeding – convert 1 – the other 9 are ticking and must use a remove conditions or rely on someone to get it off)

at the end, engineer was my main, now i cant even use it – and used pistol-shield – bomb kit and elixir gun as condition engineer then hybrid build – and was perfect for everything. now i feel stupid using it.

shall i do a berserk rifle then? with hgh? and press 11111 until someone explodes?

well if that “soothing disruption” would heal even the engineer would be ok – think it this way:

you and 4 allies:

no healing power heals for 340 with whatever kind of blast on whatever field -

may i list the blasts and fields we have on our own as engineers?

healing turret f1 explode turret – drop whatever kind of field (we are full of tons of field – and blast) shield? big o bomb? acid blast of elixir gun? crate? mortar f5? we are full of blasts and fields.

put this soothing disruption in a cleric-magi build for guild raids-etc in wvw
or in a celestial build for pvp – or roaming in wvw

it becomes a nice trait indeed if it was for us + 4 allies!!!

Bug has been submitted in game:

Reactive Lenses (Tools Adept) doesn’t work with knockback or knockdown. I believe this is also true for specific types of knockback “launch” or whatever other names they have. It works only with stun/daze/fear right now.

Easy to test. Equip it and go get knocked around!

its true – i confirm on some kind of knockback-down-launch it doesnt trigger

but im writing to ask why the alchemy “transmute” says “Incoming conditions have a chance to convert into boons.”

well. its incoming condition – one stack of a group of conditions incoming.

example? get 5 stacks of confusion from a mesmer and converts 1 to retaliation and leave the other 4 there…

but cant be working like that. there are skills that drops X stacks of a condition ALL TOGETHER!

wvw cannons 2nd skill: 5-10stacks of bleeding in ONE HIT – converts only one and leave the other 4 or 9 to work

im here to ask and reconsider on how fast some classes drops some conditions.

we arent speaking of bleeding (that in most case is 100-150 a second)

we are speaking of mesmers confusion (2k a stack)

we are speaking of guardian burning

in both cases – confusion and burning is dropped so easily that is impossible to remove even with all the kitten condition removal you have.
