from Hot some stats are become obsolete. toughness-vitality and even healing.
only in a few class healing is considered as 1:1 ratio only if using some traits.
in other classes, 0 healing -> heal for 300. 500 healing -> heal for 400…
but here the post is going off thread -
still think and still say that perplexity rune in itself is to powerful (with the spam of cc in the game) as confusion as it is from the change is still insane in Wvw.
they should be tuned correctly.
confusion? 1000 damage on skill use. 100 over time. not the opposite as it is now!

if confusion has been boosted for pve, and it comes back as it was, well, mesmers and engis etc, do another build for pve!

and if resistance instead of 100% immunity to condition becomes like protection boon (-33% damage)?
resistance = 50% reduction of conditions (so 1s of bleeding becomes 0,5s – 1s fear will rip 1 stability – 4s imobilize will become 2s etc etc etc)
that will make some sense in figths. casuals builds could stand a chance (even if nearly 0%) vs a 10-20 organized guild group running those set up of boon sharing etc etc etc

i think that confusion should go back as it was before they changed it.
doesn’t deal damage in pve? ok so put the same damage not 100 for skill use and 200 over time! what???
the game in itself has boosted up conditions for pve, but, if before only bleeding and confusion was stack intensity now all are.
if before 10s of poison was 100 a second of damage,
now 10 stacks of poison 10s it has become so its 100 × 10 × 10 hours, every second is -1k!
with cooldowns – traits-sigils-whatever condition removal same as before!!

here we are speaking if a class is useful or not.
engineer in the way i described is one way of beeing useful. and that is a fact.
even with pistol-shield with bombs-mortar kit elixir gun same as above.
with tons of fields with mortar kit or bombs.
then some classes are better than others for this or that. but don’t say engineer is useless.
all class can be useful if used properly and set up properly.
elementalists-mesmers-thiefs-etc etc etc etc etc etc etc
then some classes do some roles better than others. thats sure

play berserk-knight stats with rifle-toolkit-healing turret (or even better medic gyro) – a bulwark gyro and elixir gun – with mortar kit and alchemy?
you have 1200 range and 1500 with mortar kit – a defense for yourself – so many water fields for zergs to blast – so many condi removal (for yourself and for the allies)
inventions? with autosmoke bomb? so op combined with bunker down in melee!!
alchemy? seems a lot selfish but elixir gun 3rd skill and 5th skill – keep all alive in front of a ram under acs!! and so on…
with healing turret 2 water fields – mortar kit 1 – can have 3 with 2 skills….

oh, so you think/say that break stun will cast immediately, and then the 0,5s is for aoe superspeed?
interesting – never saw it this way.
only found “weird”? or not so clear tooltip…
(also saw it from “well of power” in necro-reaper, its a break stun and tooltip shows a 0,25s cooldown – seemed and it is a bit not clear)
(for buffs on scrapper surely no more needed, off topic but shield should need some love XD)

i am asking to tune down a bit some things.
this “rune of durability” introduced from Hot is insane in one single player build (elementalist-ranger-warrior-engineer for example), using of course scrapper-druid-berserker-tempest.
seeing that you Anet will probably never consider to have in Wvw the same pvp rules at least on runes and sigils and no food boosters
take on consideration this:
get a 5-10 players with that rune – some concentration stat, a foods and see 33s resistance? kitten protection? on 5-10 players???
Anet i must say that wvw cant be threated as a verdant brink raid
i am asking to “block”? if i can use this word? a maximum amount of time of those 2 boons.
like 5s of resistance? 10s of protection?
those 2 boons are ruining every kind of fight in wvw

Another “I quit!” thread? If I didn’t like a game anymore I would just stop playing and play something else. Done that for lots of games. Not this one thou, I do like GW2 quite a bit and I am having lots of fun with lots people in PvE and WvW.

i would say that wvw filled up only for the reward track! but no ones want to admit it! (i do wvw from day 2 and always done 5-8 hours in wvw)

It’s fixed to an extent. It used to hit 15K+ on 3k armor
The cooldown might need looking at but 7K damage really isn’t that much if the warrior is running signet of might and had might stacks (or you had vulnerability more likely).
Your HP is 24K, what are you complaining about? If you were on a guardian it’d be about half your HP unless you ran multiple pieces of vitality gear other than armor (i.e. Nomad’s /Minstrel’s/Marauder’s/Wanderer’s/Soldier’s/Sentinel’s/Valkyrie), durability/trooper runes, and/or force of will trait for +3000HP.

If this happened we’d still be left with 1 useless offhand in PvP. No one’s going to take OH pistol if it doesn’t provide significant damage pressure. The immob is decent for landing skills and the cover condi are alright, but shield’s defenses are infinitely more useful as they mean you’re not deadweight as soon as you get focused.
Are a lot of people using Shield?
im using shield in an hybrid celestial (firearms-scrapper – tools or alchemy or inventions depends on situations)
because i love the blast – the reflect while getting close to a ranger lb or a warrior rifle or dh longbow – and the block of 5.
5th skill is still a 100% projectile finisher and still stuns-daze when someone wants to melee
indeed i said in another post that 30s and 40s are a high cd – compared to the 6s and 20s reflect-block of hammer and compared to cooldowns of shield of other classes.
suggestion: 20-30s base traitline. if using inventions, give protection and resistance 1s aoe to 5 targets. its a defensive weapon and would be perfect and another option in some builds.
for pistol 3: the buff of 1 stack more confusion is very nice. bounces to 4 targets.
have a rabbit close to one player in wvw? – 6 stacks of confusion (that ok – dont deal 1000 and 2000 like bombs in a condi build but still is 6 stacks to remove mixed with poison-burning-bleeding etcetcetc)

if you put up Perfectly Weighted – stability on dodge and hammer damage increase +10%, the minor adept Function Gyro changes the description saying that 2 stacks of stability when using it.
don’t know if i am missing something, but never saw from Hot some stability!!!!
does it work? or its me?

same thing happened to me on many times when using “Self-Regulating Defenses” of engineer line alchemy.
if you have imobilize on you, the trait triggers, remove imob as a condition, cant move anywhere (the invulnerable state lasts 3-4s) and you would like to move – run – in a tower – into the group, no, you cant, so just stay there and get killed after.
or happened with other classes (ranger and guardian) with taunts or imobilize – remove them and then, no point on moving because you cant!

heya, on this wvw server linking it’s generally all fine. interesting.
one big negative note, the skills lags that comes out in fights.
don’t know if this server linking is creating some sort of issues or if its always been like this in higher tiers, in fights where 50 vs 50. (to be honest never had lag in Fow HAHA never had and never saw fights more than 20 vs 20 HAHA)
said this, well, with skill lags, there is sometimes aoe stuff that basically you dont see!!!! and from 20k vitality you are in down, and full of conditions, only because you didnt see what was hitting you…

As about constant blob vs blob fights… it happened on reset evening. I have also seen them on EB, but we also we defended our home BL with 5 people whole morning against 20+ SFR. And from those 5 players 4 were from FoW. So.. who is linked to who here?

here a player that lived and lives and play for Fissure of Woe from day 1. never moved, even if i had like 103483481538 chances of moving in other servers.
bad times good times fun rages etc.
saw many people (players) moving because they were fed up defending stuff 5 vs 20, or fed up of perma rages when 99% of the times outnumbered etc etc and empty bls in some times in 24 hours.
this “beta” stuff is what it is. a beta.
we are linked with gunnars hold (ops for the mistake before XD) – and at the moment, well, no kind of problems, except some trollers-ragers. but they are everywhere.
to be honest, i think that, (on my behalf) never saw zergs or fights 50+ vs 50+ so its new.
then yes, maybe i wont like it to much. yes, maybe i can like it? only because im fed up of not having people playing wvw for the server and as someone said before beeing loyal to the server (but everyone is different in the game)
i think that this “server merge” wont be THE solution.
but at the moment (personal opinion i will play it) and think that for stability changes and other stuff from the patch, the direction taken from Anet in wvw scenario is a good direction.

Why do you need catas while roaming? Makes no sense. Leave pvd to havoc or blobs.
Because you can do alot with just 2 – 5 people.You don’t have to mindlessly run around just looking for a few people to gank,trying to draw out some when you siege a tower has given me the best fights usually and you’re still helping out the main blob aswell.
this is what i call “the real roaming”. aka bothering here and there flipping things – moving fast – etc etc etc etc (and make the other servers mad trying to find you out XD)

Electro-whirl hammer engineer that reflect every 6s (while attacking) and Shock Shield engineer hammer 20s cd blocking while attacking – making old shield engineer simply useless?
2-3 gyros that is perma stun – get superspeed and 470 healing a second in a berserk build (and like 550 with 500 healing?? LOL)?

Dragonhunter
“hunters ward”: when we will see the red mark?
compared to “line of warding” 6 rings that you dont see compared to 1…
one of them is too much.
virtue of resolve: 1625 aoe healing 600 radius and 43,5s or 50s compared to wings of resolve that has a leap of 800 – remove imob on the caster – heals for 3,500+ with 30s cd, makes virtue of resolve ridiculos. make them the same at least.
ranger:
solar beam: cant block it? cant reflect it? what is it? 3 targets – ok 3 pulses ok – but area of effect? 100? 200? 300? pierces? doesnt pierce? not specified
ancient seeds: striking a stunned – dazed – knocked down etc foe – entangle every 10s – cool nice – but range? infinite?
juvenile bristleback and juvenile smokeskale. the more op pet in the game.
basically every other kind of pet is useless compared to them!
and they are even more intelligent than the old ones!
general consideration:
for 3 years you showed us that “damage OR stay alive” now you can have both.
and make old system possible to use.
adjust some leaps-mobility. range basically.
example: wings of resolve with 800 leap?? (offensively and defensively)
ancestral grace 1200 range? (offensively and defensively)
and if used defensively when will you get them?
tune a bit those things because in some game (wvw) its getting simply ridiculos to get in a fight.
with all those “leaps” “healing” “blocks” or “reflect” and range stuff.

The old system could have been “hard” for new players, but usually you didnt know what you would have done in the game (and what you would have preferred).
i know a lot of builds pre Hot where destroyed (mine included in 2 characters).
it was fine to simplify traits – remove a lot of “useless” traits.
but could have changed more with 5 lines where to put in things.
3 lines and Hot = no build variety.
specialization? maybe i dont want specialize in nothing. dont want to be OP in 2 things. maybe i want to have fun – careless if im effectively dealing damage-dps-whatever.
on the new system – i should bring again 5 traits in engineer and 4 traits in ranger.
and both builds i played them for 2 years and had fun and they were fine for most situations.
now basically i dont have fun with any kitten class.
FUN. otherwise as someone said around in wvw posts, “its not a job”

now, whatever i write here is my personal opinion (that is how i think things should go in whats a game) (and read my signature lol)
said this, well, when i see some builds/classes that uses some food (see some warriors builds with “66% chance on critical hit steal life” – and that steal life is 1k careless of armor) i ask myself “can they play only in that mode? their build is working basically for that?”
then i reply to myself “this is allowed on anet side and the wvw scenario” (and i get sad to be honest)
in the other side, saw in 4 years of game, little guilds (say 3-5 ppl) using some range class (rangers-druid or dh or both) with some ista bursts melee classes (thiefs? warriors?) and well they arent roaming (flipping camps-towers once an hour mostly), they arent looking for duels (because they usually go all of them vs 1-2).
i call this gameplay or gamestyle “ganking”. but its allowed by anet and the game in itself.
as someone said in here, cant have respect for the persons behind the screen that does this gamestyle, even if allowed by the game in itsel.
but this is my opinion.

i think gravity well is to op too – as the 5th skill of hammer engi Thunderclap as huntersward- especially compared to similar skills effects.
engi? shield 4th skill? with Radius: 180? if using magnetic inversion? with 1 stability ripped?
or ring of warding guardian in melee with 1 stability ripped??
or line of warding guardian at 1200 range? with 1 stability ripped?
one break stun was enough to get out of them – and in case of line of warding well, move a side – and u see it in the ground
dh lb 5th skill is 6 rings = 6 stability – and cant use a break stun – because there is other 5 cc after that LOL (same cooldown of line of warding staff same range – but one is 1 cc this one is 5-6 cc!)

can 20 players have a banner in 1 minute? no they cant (for the internal cooldown of tactivators).
im thinking on fights – lets say “normal” fights not using the banners of keeps.
should anet then rework (aka balance) every single skill in the game after the introduction of Hot?
with the power creep?
they first said that players would have had a “break bar” and then changed their mind.
break bar is: when it brakes deal +50% damage (if not more) on champ-mob.
break bar isnt stability
can come to mind that then (seeing the power creep) that every single player in wvw is getting the +50% damage (as they have the broken bar??? doubts…)
cant compare fights between players in wvw scenario as the same of 20 players killing a keep or tower champion.

you cant say that CC as it is now, in Hot system and classes with elite spec, is, lets use the word “correct”
if before Hot it was a permaspam of stability (guardians) now it is a perma spam of whatever can AOE CC.
(reapers – huntersward – taunts of pets – gyro explosions – etc – etc – etc) so as i posted around threads (always concerning WVW)
stability as it is now isnt so useful, or CC is simply to much.

i say reduce cooldown (15-25s in that range)
no recharge reduction in inventions trait – give protection and maybe resistance – its defensive so it could be nice to have both.
compared to the same skills of other class then cooldown would be ok.
compared to hammer that every 6s reflects and every 20s blocks (while attacking) and attack too (in melee does both) is still to much but at least could give a sense of using shield again.
pistol 2 and 3 could be a bit buffed in power and behaviour (2 with that poison spread – circle too )
or… increase from 900 to 1000/1050 range as ehm was promised in baseline traits

get the stability change of 1 year ago was “more or less” fine untile the perma CC of Hot expansion, and there you go.
stability is useless or CC is simply to much.
can’t see it in other ways.

(still think that Anet didnt consider at all the impact of Hot in wvw)
