Yea I gave up after 45mins on my Ranger. By the time I rezzed her the new wave was right there to kill her again. Didnt really have any problems on my Eng but she never died with that one.

Didn’t help that I had to keep an eye on who my pet was targetting – I had a heck of a time keeping It off the aspect and on the sparks.

Just some general thoughts – thinking “out loud”, as it were.

It’s definitely a boat of Canthan design, but that’s all that can be really said about the boat. Cantha had been cut off due to Zhaitan’s navy, so it’s possible that some intrepid explorers are coming up to our area.
I’m guessing the picture shows Orr revived after the events of the main storyline, after Trahearne did his ritual to cleanse Orr – and we killed Zhaitan. It may well be set in some area south of Straits of Devastation and/or east of Malchor’s Leap, but I suspect we’ll be heading toward Balthatzar’s Temple to gather information about him, and possibly confront him.
Then? Assuming the next expansion will take place in Vabbi….hmmm. Palawa Joko may be involved, either as an adversary sucking in loose dragon magic, an ally looking to deal with an empowered Kralkatorrik, or something else entirely. On no evidence, I like the idea that he’s impersonating Balthazar, but I do consider that unlikely.

But I don’t get why you tried to tossed GS and Hammer in the mystic forge in the first place. Did you buy them in order to try to made more money? Or did you only toss the weapons you had in your inventory to see what you would get?

Every now and again I try my luck. I’ll buy the cheapest exotics off the TP, and see if I get anything good. It’s gambling, pure and simple, for the thrill of it. Sometimes it pays off.

A bit of background: yesterday, I tossed some hammers into the Mystic Forge and got Colossus. Quite cool. None of my characters use hammers, so I sold it in the TP and got a fair whack of cash.
When my wife got home, I shared my luck with her, and commented that I was glad that I hadn’t gotten Dusk, as that would have left me with a decision to make. After all, I already have Dawn, and all I’ll need is to learn Ascalon Catacombs and go through it a few times to get Sunrise. ( I have all the other stuff).
I bet y’all can see where this is going…
A few minutes later, I tossed in some greatswords, and got Dusk. I literally sat and stared at the screen a good 20 seconds before I reacted.

So, the decision. I’ve got everything I need for Sunrise barring the Ascalonian Tears. All I have to do is go through Ascalon Catacombs eight or so times to get the last component. I never have done that dungeon, even in story mode. Now I’ve got Dusk as well. It shouldn’t take to long to get the other Gifts necessary to make Twilight – I’ve got Exploration, I’m close to Battle, and the other components are just a matter of time and money – and having just sold Colossus, I’m pretty flush.

I thought I’d open the floor to y’all, and seek your advice.

1) Get all the stuff, make Sunrise and Twilight, and then Eternity.
2) Just get enough Ascalon Tears to make Sunrise or Twilight, and sell either Dusk or Dawn
3) Sell ‘em both – thinking that if I haven’t gone through a dungeon yet, then I probably won’t get around to it
4) Something else I hadn’t though of. This does not include giving either to any other players, sorry.

Not sure it has been mentioned, but has anyone commented on the dialogue on the ship where two NPC’s mention something along the lines of seeding crystal’s dust on the clouds when they’re higher up? I’ve been thinking a lot about those lines and I can’t really get any good speculation out of it – alas not one that would make much sense yet.

Sounds like cloud seeding here – tossing dust (silver iodide?) up into clouds to encourage rain. Haven’t seen the conversation, so they could mean something entirely different.

Marjory mentions that the decorations reminded her of things her parents had, that they’d got from her grandparents.
It says in the Wiki that Marjory is of Canthan descent – makes it pretty plain that the Sanctum was just in Cantha, I think.
Could be a bit of a tease, or something further in the future; there’s no reason to think that we’ll be heading to Cantha anytime soon.
Still, I think I know how we’ll get to Cantha, when the time comes…

Second time it worked fine.
On the first time, he just stood there after the objective changed; on the second, he knelt and I had the F(Talk) come up.

I just did it the first time, and while the objective changed as you say, I didn’t have the option to talk to Gavin. I’d run ahead of him and killed; I’ll try it again.

Nothing official, but most of them have been for two weeks from start.

I dunno, I find threads like these very useful. I know which players I should block in game, so I don’t waste my time teaming or reading their drivel while I’m playing.

My take is that she’s not so much attacking Lion’s Arch, as she is getting it out of the way of whatever her goal is under LA. Presumably it’s whatever attempted to control/influence her after she dove into the Eternal Alchemy – if that’s what she did.

What is it under LA? Don’t know, not really enough information. Could be a Dragon, or a dragon minion. Could be a Mursaat – a thought I rather like, but I’ve no information pointing to that. Could be an anti-Pale Tree (Pale Mushroom?), that is exerting its influence into the Dream, adding a touch of Nightmare. And so forth…

There is an unmarked, unattended probe over in Bloodtide Coast – I don’t know if it was simply overlooked, or if it has anything to do with anything. Nobody around it but local mobs.

I’m hoping for a Mursaat – specifically, Lazarus the Dire.

After going all the way collecting the parts to enter the cave and to open the chests to complete her diary for the code to activate the console; that Anet just put some random symbols on there, in a cave otherwise packed with hints, makes kind of no sense.

I don’t believe it is random – it reminds me strongly of a tic-tac-toe cypher. See this for an example of how to do tic tac toe code:

I’ve gotten a screenshot – but haven’t had time to work on it. I have noticed it’s two columns, and each starts repeating partway down.

Got one as well, also in Australia. I have no idea how I was selected, but I think it’s cool.

I suspect that she’ll be killed by one of her own plots going awry – the PC’s will have little (or nothing) to do with it.
I kind of suspect she’s in league with or influenced by the Shatterer and/or Kralkatorrik; he’s going to use a puppet to influence the dredge, charr, nightmare court etc.
And at the end, he’ll kill her.

What I was wondering personally is, what happens to the 15% Karma Infusion I wasted laurels on for one of my characters? I don’t really need that slot for Agony Resistance (on that character at least), but I sure would like to have those Laurels back…. anyone hear what’s happening with those Infusions that are less than worthless now?

*same deal for MF Infusions down the road too…

And gold infusions after the dungeon change 2 weeks ago. Pretty much all utility infusions are now (or will very soon be) obsolete.

I would like to get an answer on this – should I go ahead and make an Omni infusion for my Protomatter chain, and just chalk up the laurels as lost?

Yah, I’ve done four zones worth of balloons, and I’ve got 7/30. I’m pretty sure it was one of the two in Queensdale that is bugged.
Heck, I’ve gone back and redone all eight, just to be sure, and I’m still at 7/30.

I just gave it a whirl – I experienced serious lag, but was whittling him down just by disarming mines (I think). Then, when he was down to about a quarter, I disconnected. I was in overflow, if that matters.
I’m a little cross.
Someone above made a comment about warnings in the chat window – I wasn’t seeing them too well either, as I was concentrating on the screen , trying to make out the icons above the mines – which I couldn’t see too well either. I’d suggest moving the notifications to the middle of the screen, or providing some other visual cue – the whole screen flashes red, or something. Not sure what to do about the mine icons.
I see what the devs were trying to do, but the killer lag left a bad taste in my mouth. Is anyone else experiencing this?
