My performance/FPS dropped by more than 60% after the latest trait patch. I was getting a stable 50+ FPS at highest setting while free roaming and now it’s no more than 20. Dungeons/Fractals used to have 40+ FPS and now it’s merely staying at 15. WvW and other congested areas had 20+ FPS but after the patch, it is hardly 5~10.

I noticed that several AMD users like myself are facing this issue. I would like to request Anet to address this issue ASAP. I am using AMD HD 6870, AMD Phenom II x4 955 Processor and 8 GB Corsair 1600 Mhz RAM.

I know this might have asked several times already but I am just curious whether armor clipping of charr can be fixed anytime soon. Maybe with the release of HoT? I doubt whether any other race suffers from clipping as much as charr. It would be great if armor clipping can be rectified as a whole but if that’s not possible or too much time consuming, then I implore to prioritize fixing armor clpping on charr first since there almost all gears clip on charr.

P.S. I recently noticed that Aegis clips horribly on charr and although it’s rather negligible, it is still quite obtuse.

It’s rather sad to see that you had a toxic introduction to the game. I apologize in behalf of those people. There will always be scumbags in a MMO community but in general, GW2 playerbase is rather polite, at least in my experience. I tend to primarily focus on PVE and I’ve mostly encountered helpful people. It is unfortunate that you faced the toxic minority of the community, so early in your game. I implore you to not judge the whole community based on your current experience, since the majority of the players, including myself, are willing to offer you a warm welcome. As someone already mentioned, do report abusive players as Anet usually takes good care of them.

When you are on vengeance you have only 25% chance to rally if you kill an enemy. But you can pick up the trait Sweet Revenge if you want to have 100% to rally while on vengeance.

I am new in this profession and would like to know why Vengeance doesn’t work all the time. It was supposed to rally me if I kill my killer, while in this mode. However, I noticed that it doesn’t work most of the time and I usually don’t rally.

Is this a bug or am I missing something?

So, I was playing GW2 today and suddenly I noticed that whenever I am trying to get the list of custom arenas in PVP, I am getting this error. It was working fine and suddenly this happened and for almost 24 hours, this is constantly annoying me. I can assure that it is not a fault from my side as I cross verified my firewall/router settings and also tried the game from a different internet connection, but the error simply won’t go away. It is only happening, when I try to load the custom arena list in PVP.

I recently restarted playing GW2 and I rolled a necromancer since I never played this class. Now, I want to make this class a bit casual and only use it for story/open world solo PVE and casual WvW. Please suggest me a fun build. Is the pet build fun/viable?

I am a returning player who left the game at Q4 last year. I remember that there were several features/systems that were different than their current versions. Especially, this new skill & trait system. I recently started leveling a new toon and I’m greatly disappointed by this new system. I really miss that old system where I had more freedom for character customization. Level-to-unlock skills, offhand weapon unlocking at 7…. these features are more generic and the fact that I loved GW2, because it offered an unique system. I don’t know why these changes were forcefully implemented. These should’ve been an optional patch so that veteran players could switch it off. Last I remember, the old system was quite easy for any newbie, I don’t get the point of making it even “easier” as it kinda spoils the gameplay fun.

I am pretty sure that BLC actually drops some, if not most, of the rare gem items. I myself got the Total Makeover Kit 4 times.

If the owner dc’s, goes afk for 20min or started to troll and kicks others, or harassing ppl “haha im the owner you cant kick you me BEEP’n BEEPING BEEPS” then they need to be kicked.

This way we will at least be able to prevent trolling to a point.

That’s hardly happens and it can be easily prevented by making your own instance. However, if griefers joins and kick the owner out of the dungeon without getting any kind of penalties, then it will be sad. Also, this issue can’t be averted or else everyone needs to rely on only their guildies and friends to form dungeon run party.

I’ve had this issue, starting a few months ago – around the time Net Neutrality was repealed by the FFC, leading me to suspect ISP throttling (an issue ANET just can’t solve). You may be experiencing lag thanks to this, as I have. However, I did a lot of digging around and found a possible solution that seems to work.

1. Navigate to your Guild Wars 2 installation folder.
2. Right-click on “GW2.exe” and select “Create Shortcut.”
3. Rename this shortcut to “Guild Wars 2 Port Test.”
4. Right-click on this shortcut and select “Properties.”
5. Edit the “Target” line to include /clientport 80 at the end. Note: Please make sure /clientport 80 is outside of the quotes Correctly Formatted Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\GW2.exe” /clientport 80 Incorrectly Formatted Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\GW2.exe /clientport 80”
6. Once completed, click “Ok” to save your changes. If you get an error trying to save, your target line may not have the correct format. Please try step 5 again.
7. Double click “Guild Wars 2 Port Test” and try connecting again.

I tried it but without any improvement. I have also contacted my ISP and they said that they are not throttling any traffic whatsoever. Also, I am facing no increase in lag in other MMO I play. And, this lags usually doesn’t occur in non-peak times. So, I think this peak time lag is something of Anet’s issue.

I am just too annoyed with this lag and lag spikes which occur usually on peak hours (which is my only playtime). There is no problem in my internet as I face no lag in other MMOs but only in GW2 in peak hours. Why do you not upgrade your server and fix the lag Anet? I know hundreds of people facing this and it’s the most annoying factor in an mmorpg. Please do take steps to remedy this lag issue.

I completely agree with OP. There are really some stupid “whining” people on this forum who will whine on just about everything. And the people who are “unhappy” because Anet is not releasing “sufficient” content, I would like to inform them that the devs are also humans and like all humans they also need breaks. And, creating new content and programming new stuffs is not some kind of magic which can be performed in an instant. It takes a lot of planning, effort and time to create new contents. And just for the WoW lovers, how much “free” content did you guys get from your beloved “kill x amount of mob” mmo? And WoW hardly release new content per year.

It’s true that you starts with only 5 slots but you can purchase more slots from Gem Store and you can have up to 64 slots. In this game we can convert Golds (in-game normal currency) to gems (micro transaction currency) and it costs an average of 100 Golds (800 Gems) to get a character expansion slot. It’s really not that hard to obtain 100 Golds later on.

As for trying out all classes and choosing your favorite one, I would highly suggest you to create a character and visit an arena on PVP as when you are on PVP, all your skills are unlocked and your character is set to lv 80. So, using this method, play with all 8 classes (by creating one and then deleting it afterwards) and stick with the one which suits best with your playstyle.

Eventually when you hit lv 80, it won’t be hard to farm a character expansion slot and it will take a maximum of 1 week to farm 100 golds from end-game contents.

The game is crashing every 20~30 minutes for me after the recent update. Is this only me or everyone?

I am just wondering why people are so obsessed with legendary weapons. I am not 100% sure but I think legendary weapons don’t offer any + stats and have same weapon attack as ascended weapons. So, my question is, what’s the point of farming legendary?

P.S. I personally feel that most of the legendary skins look awful.

I am also a victim of annoying griefers but that doesn’t mean I am quitting the game. I have found a great guild and most of the people in the guild are quite friendly and helpful. I will suggest you the same to join a friendly guild. Also, we can tag up and play together as I prefer enjoy the game rather than fast-grinding for gears, so I don’t really bother about the class or weapon one uses.

I am new as mesmers and I do have a feeling of being a bit underpowered atm (I am lv 40). I have a similar level elementalist and the ele can dish out heavy damage and have much more survivability. Also, I don’t see many mesmers on dungeons and most people kick me out from dungeons as soon as they see me as mesmer. I am not complaining but I am just willing to know whether mesmers are underpowered or am I doing something wrong….

Also, is it a bug that sometime mobs don’t attack my clones and instead targets me directly?

P.S. Mesmer are undoubtedly a super fun class to play though.

I am thinking of crafting ascend gear for my ranger but I am a bit confused on whether I should forge berserker gear or assassin gear. Please suggest me which set of gear will be better in terms of PVE. Please don’t ask me to craft both set as I have limited resources.

Today, for the first time, I tried to solo AC P1 with my lv 80 warrior. It took me approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to reach the last boss. Then I took down the HP of the boss to around 5% and opened LFG to sell spot. 2 people initially entered and purchased the spot and then after some time 2 more people entered simultaneously and they kicked me out of the dungeon for no reason. They didn’t even entered the dungeon themselves and yet they kicked me out. The first 2 guys told me that one of those last guy entered the dungeon and instantly kick me from the party which the other guy approved immediately. I had to refund the first 2 guys and just lost my whole time and effort. I am really disappointed with the attitude of these people and the unfair policy of the party system in GW2.

I wasn’t able to note down their names (as I was struggling with the boss) nor did the first 2 guys noticed the names. So, I couldn’t report them. But, I don’t understand how some random people can enter my party and kick me, the party leader, within a few seconds. The whole party system seems unfair to me. Just tell me guys what’s wrong with these people?

P.S. I am new to this game.

However, I found that killing veterans, champs or bosses are kinda hard with shortbow and hence I would like to know which weapon (or weapon set) offers highest DPS to single target?

I have noticed that after the latest Entanglement update,the game started lagging a lot for me. The game lags everywhere including open world, dungeon, pvp, wvw etc. I can assure that I have made no changes in AV or firewall and also I can assure that the problem is not from my side as there is no lag in other MMO I play. Some of my friends are also reporting similar lag problems after the latest update.

So, I was wondering if anyone else is having the same problem.

Nope, I am in the same area killing the same mobs. I have also posted a thread in the game bug section after Anet verified this as a bug through my ticket. You can also try this yourself. I have also attached a video in the other thread.

I am new to Ranger and my current Ranger is level 36 atm and I am in a similar level zone. It clearly says that with each kill, my pet will gain +3 to all stats till 25 stacks. However, I do noticed that sometime, the stats increases by +2 or +1 instead of +3 and the vitality stats sometime doesn’t increase at all.

If you are talking about the Ascalonian Catacombs dungeon then its because its easier for a thief to exploit and skip to the last boss. In AC i think only elementalists can solo it legit.

Its easier for thief to exploit because they have a spammable blink skill on shortbow #5, and depending of where you use the blink skill you can break into the map of the dungeon, allowing you to go straight to the final boss.

This is my first post in the forum and I am new here. I just started playing GW2 a few days ago. I am currently lv 38 at the moment and one of my friend suggested me to look out for people selling boss kill/exp in dungeons for golds as it can quickly make me a few silvers and exp. So, I have bought a 3 of these solo boss kill for 1.30~1.40 G each making a marginal profit of a few silvers myself and gaining lots of exp. However, I do noticed that most of these solo runners are thief. I myself haven’t tried any other professions beside warrior (lv 38) and elementalist (lv 11) but I am interested to know whether thief is good at soloing dungeon or not.

I would be grateful if anyone can tell me whether thief excel at soloing dungeon. Thank you.
