An expansion will be available in 2015.
This was made aware by looking at NcSoft’s economic projections sheet.
Rox, Kasmeer, Delaqua, Braham, Taimi party.
They feel more like a school trip rather than a well-seasoned adventuring party.
1) Taimi is a kid and prone to a lot of enthusiasm mistakes. Has no experience at all.
2) Rox is a deserter who fled the Legions and has disobeyed direct orders from his Tribune.He should be exiled in some deserted island. Has minimal experience.
3) Braham is a raged teenager with mommy issues who likes to break things that could be useful. Also has minimal experiences.
4)Kasmeer & Delaqua no serious issues, they seem to have experience, other than that they constantly talk about their love life. I dont care about their private life.
In short, this party has minimal experience and they only just starting their adventuring career now.
Too bad for Tyri, that the original Destiny’s Edge have retired (at their peak of their strength, now that Tyria faces its destruction. Yeah, bunch of losers?)
Now that Mordremoth, the Plant Dragon will expose himself soon, we cannot expect these 2 parties to save us.
Destiny’s Edge 1.0 has lose mentality and has retired, while Destiny’s Edge 2.0 has tremendous enthusiasm but almost no experience.
We need the Pact to save us.
Remember the Vigil, Priory, Order of Whisper agents?
The ones who presented us with plans in the fight against Zhaitan?
Even better, the high level agents or the Pact representatives

In fact, some of these members are among the top of the world.
FOR THE SAKE OF REALISM, when Mordremoth appears- when the real fighting begins, only the best should be the Vanguard of Tyria.
OLNY THE BEST OF THE BEST SHOULD BE WITH THE PLAYER.

I agree.
For me the current party (Kasmeer, Delaqua, etc) are more bland than Trahearne.
Trahearne at least had his superpowers exlained (Pale Tree/Caladbolg empowerment, plus he also ventured alone in Orr for years)
The current party we have do not deserve it.
In fact almost everything they have achieved was thanks to us, the players.
At least in the main story you have 3 dialogue options.
1) Fury
2)Dignity
3)Guile
Now these options didnt affect the story at all, but reinforced the roleplaying aspect.
Now in the season 2 story, so far, you only have one option.

This creates a sense of detachement from the character.
ArenaNet/NCSoft please reconsider implementing that system again.
I would like to add my 2 cents about GW’s 2 voice acting.
I have played many RPGs btw. (one could say too many).
I was OK with Trahearne’s voice. (
The only thing that Trahearne wanted in my opinion was a way to better introduce his character.
Example: Trahearne pops up in Claw island, you are being told that he is the know-it-all.
IMO Trahearne wanted some extra lore/dialogue integrated to him (didnt have to be voice, it could be written dialogue)
Next if you can bring bavk Paul Eiding.
That man is a beast for voice-acting grizzled veterans.

With signet of the beast master and the signets it works wonders
Having played all the storylines with all races, i can honestly say:
That Forgal Kernsson was the best male character in GW2.
This is mainly due to the voice of Paul Eiding (Metal Gear Solid series).
Forgal Kernsson (Vigil Story) was a tough,wise & grizzled warrior and Eiding’s voice helped tremendously in highlighting these aspects.
If Anet is wise they should bring Paul Eiding back.
He is a voice actor that should be represent in a MAJOR hero.

6 markmanship (mainly you go for Signet of the Beastmaster [grandmaster], can also go for Signemastery[adept])
6 wilderness (Shared Anguish [adept], Barkskin [grandmaster])
rest 2 traits can go where you want
Since you have Signet of the Beastmaster you gain Signets you use (also pets gains them)
Skills you go
1.Signet of Stone (extra armor + 6 sec invulnerability)
2.Signet of the Wild (passive regeneration, more damage, stability)
PS: as for weapons use what you want. I have good versions of all weapons.
usually for WvW i use GS (mobility) & LB (crowd control, catch strugglers)
be flexible and find the weapons that suit your playstyle.
Follow the commander and and enjoy slaying people with your heart’s content.

i have berserker gear with the 2 earrings (toughness)
my main weapons are: SB+GS
I also have:
GS+2 Axes (for stacking bosses)
SB+LB (for ranged only bosses)
i also have Warhorn, Torch, Longsword, Dagger (dont use them that much)
my traits are 6 marksmanship, 6 wilderness, 2 beastmastery
i use these for dungeons/WvW
for map pve i skip 6 wilderness and i put them on 6 skirmishing
for more damage since you cant really die in map pve as ranger
The LB is good for WvW (covering fire, killing/slowing strugglers etc)
No need to change it
Just go sigil of toughness instead

This is my first MMO.
I have played many single player RPG games (JRPGs, WRPGs, open world RPGs, Tactical RPGs, turn-based RPGs). What can i say, i am a RPG lover.
I find GW2 to be a very nice game.
Because it was never the Zerk gear that was OP.
Rangers are required to have Zerk gear and are usually kicked from the Zerk Groups.
If you notice the Zerk groups, you will notice usually only 3 classes.
Warriors & Guardians (zerk gear)
Mesmers (for the aoe invisibility)
You can blame the Zerk gear all you want, but in reality its the
Warrior/Guardian – Zerk combination that is OP
I always looked & enjoyed fighting the bosses in a big train.
Now new spawning boss spawning times makes the game way more boring.
World Bosses were something special and were entertaining to fight.
Now, Balance Boss updates cause of the megaserver, make the fights a bit more difficult but way more enjoyable.
The loot was nice, but from my point of view not the main thing that i tried to kill them.
But the new Boss Spawning times make it worse.
I am forced to choose 1 from all the bosses, and frankly nowadays i m always try to kill the most easiest boss to access (usually Shadow Behemoth).
So in retrospect, i am spendind less time in GW2 because of this.
Anyone else having the same problem as me?
yeah the ranger is good for picking off strugglers and ksing.
after that, the ranger should roll around and try to make the attacker angry.
Zerk Build is OK fro Dungeons/PvE
i use GS+SB but have nearly all weapons in equivalent power
i use GS+2 Axes if boss needs to be stacked only
i use SB+LB if boss needs to be ranged only
i use 6/4/0/0/4
with spotter, piercing arrows in markmanship
When the Ranger became goood in group play?
Unless you are talking about SPvP only.
Yeah in sPvP, the rangers are ok (immobile tanky things with their spirits)
but not so in Dungeons
Are Dungeons not considered Small Group play?
Try a Ranger in Zerk Groups and see how fast they kick you.
i use 6/4/0/0/4 wit GS+SB
i also have nearly all weapons at peak power and change them according to situations
i have it and its ok for catching strugglers.
seems weak for PvE

Most probably he was a level 2 player playing WvW (and raised to level 80)
My Experience with Dungeons & Zerk Groups is that:
They usually allow Warrior, Guardian and Mesmer (for the aoe invisibility) only.
Its not uncommon to see 1 Mesmer, 4 Warriors or Guardians.
They usually kick all other classes.
I have talked to a number of them and its not about player issues, its about the classes.
Zerk groups have the best dps, they cant afford to be slowed by inferior dps classes.
I am sad, because i am a Zerk ranger, but unless Anet buffs something there isnt much we can do.
Ranger is a popular class in every MMO, and it was always a popular class in GW2, the 2nd class made the most.
Now lets see how many of them will keep playing rangers after level 80.

I like so much more to use SB in PvE, all that LB has is the 2 skill.
I have tested stuff, and so far i have found that SB trumps LB.
Maybe its the Rampage as One though, works far better on SB

Oh i use mostly Zerk gear
I do feel Ranger is a bit weak compared with some classes
Zerk Dungeon Path groups kick all classes except Warrior, Guradian, Mesmer btw.

Give us the Zerk multipliers that some other classes have
After using Beastmastery for so long, i have come to the conclusion that there are other stronger trees.
If you want to spec a bit to beastmastery go only 4 points
(pet gains swiftness when you are down)
(pet swapping is faster)
Simply not worth to go deeper into Beastmastery because:
WvW – your pet is bypassed by enemies all the time
PvE – Your pet is insta-shotted by msot bosses whether you have gone 6 or 4 points.
Oh and the best pets are:
Blue Moa (aoe protection to your party=op, decent health, decent damage)
Reef Drake (above average hp, above average damage)
Jungle Stalker (aoe might= op, superb damage, mediocre health)
Some more choices (worse) are Bears (superb health, bad damage)
From my Fractals/Dungeon Runs experience:
Blue Moa should be in every ranger build (makes parties strong)
Jungle Stalker is maximum dps, but died easier at bosses
Reef Drake is one solid choice (or other drakes)
felines have the most dps but they are squishy
For WvW etc (wolf for aoe fear, spider for immobilize, bear for when not caring about pet)
Depends on the setting (PvE, WvW, sPvP)
For PvE
Warriors +Guardians are OP or if you dont like that word much stronger than other classes.
A look at the Dungeon Paths (full of Zerk Warrriors/Guardians) will prove that.
For Other Modes
Many classes are viable
they need to implement 15 or 20 daily categories and you do the 5.
Today i was on the verge of just skipping the daily.
Ranger Traits are mediocre.
I only found some use for Read the Wind.
Oh wait.
Piercing Arrows & Spotter are so OP.
Bad Luck for Read the Wind.
Rest of the Traits (which means ALL) can go and be reworked.

How you think i have completed my dungeon runs.
The main problem is that usually not enough people care about the dungeons.
Lets face it, the majority of people are the Zerk builds.
If you dont believe me try Arah or CoF or w/e dungeon you want
Only selective paths will be farmed and you will see mainly Zerk groups.
ex easy paths CoF P1, P2, Honor Of the Waves P1, Twilight Arbor P1, P2
Some dungeons dont even get farmed that much (ex Inquest)
In fact in many situations, in the groups i found we decided to do all paths together in 1 run (rather than wait endlessly for other people to show)
(example Inquest, Arah, Caudecus estate)
i have a high dps build. but it doesnt matter.
most people in dungeons are zerkers.
They dont want the mediocre classes messing with their fast clear times.
Cant say i blame them. After all this is all about efficiency.
Since i have completed all paths except Aetherblade, i will only bother replaying only the quickest paths.
But i feel sad for those who will try the hard paths for the first time.
Dear ArenaNet designers,
This is a personal experience 7 and a general experience asking other players about their experiences from various guilds and different worlds.
Playing all the dungeons, i have come to a disappointing conclusion.
This is not a rant but rather an observation/disappointment.
1st Problem (the Big Problem)
All the time the LFG is full of Zerk groups made up from 4 Warriors or Guardians and 1 Mesmer or Thief (mainly Mesmer).
Add in some groups maybe an Elementalist. Thats where the variation ends.
Zerk gear is the Berserker gear (Power, Precision, Critical)
Warriors/Guardians have the best Critical progression/multipliers/maximum dps.
Mesmer or Thief is selected for aoe stealth.
You will rarely find any other groups. Zerk parties mainly (because they do the best dps)
If you try to enter these groups and you are not one of the classes i mentioned, be warned.
You will be kicked.
Yes classes like Necromancers, Engineers, Rangers, and some times even Thieves and Elementalists will be kicked.
Why Arenanet? I dont know how balanced the game is, after all ranger is my first class.
But for so many Zerk groups to be kicking the classes they seem to know they are not that good, that tells something.
I even asked the kickers why they kick people after kicking me and because i was seeing them kicking others, and they said because of my class/other peoples’ classes.
Yeah people, kicked because of a class. And they werent trolls, thats the sad part.
I initially thought the game is balanced, but after so much time spending in dungeons i can see that it isnt.
clearly there are some strong classes and the rest are weaker.
2nd Problem
There are some paths that no one wants to play.
After playing them, i can understand why.
They give the same loot for triple and quadruple the effort.
I am speaking for Paths like (Aetherblade, Arah 4, CoF 3 mainly, and some others secondarily). Either they need to give way more loot (like double the dungeon currency ex. 80 and a stronger chest reward)
I cant tell how many hours i spent trying to find groups for them.
3rd Problem
Path sellers (specifically Arah)
After waiting for hours for Path 4, I felt even by a tiny bit temped to buy the path from the Path sellers (another despicable outcome of the bad dungeon reward design on some paths).
I didnt buy it eventually. I found a group and we finished the Path in 2 hours (mostly because some people left at various points of the game)
2 hours and all we earned was the same reward as all the other paths (Problem 2)
I havent so far bought a path, but others may succumb to this practice.
I cant blame them after suffering so much.
I think about trying it on Aetherblade path (the only path i am missing for the achievement)
Reason? I have spent many days trying to find groups that are willing to do the path.
Get your act together, dear ArenaNet designers, or people will eventually stop doing dungeons all together.
Btw now most people in dungeons as i have previously mentioned are in Zerk gear-fest now.
PS2: And YES i have been using the LFG to make my own group from day 1.
Problem remains, most of the classes have lower damage output.
You may not want to hear it, i didnt want to hear it, i have calculated it, people have calculated it.
As long as there are worse dps classes, Zerk groups will continue to dominate the LFG.
Because its by game design, pls dont blame the players, i certainly didnt.
Although “tryhards” exists in all games.

yeah it a quite efficient mechanic i have used it many times.
too bad there are better weapon with lower risk and higher reward out there
In PvE berserker rangers are in high demand. In WvW roaming, power rangers are very strong although they are moderately difficult to learn. In sPvP they — as almost all power builds are — are not that great because the entire idea is to stand in one place and not die. That said, I’ve played berserker s/d+gs for hundreds of games in sPvP and it does just fine.
Honestly, I think both the condi camps and the power camps (me) are wrong. Rangers do really well at half condi, half power, half pet. All up in yo’ face every which way. (For competitive play, obviously for PvE you go berserker.)

Try a CoF dungeon with Zerk ranger, and most of the time you will be kicked.
Zerk Ranger can work in WvW with Greatsword (follow commander)
and longbow (for siege/ranged combat)
I have 30 beastmastery. Usually i dont care about my pet in WvW.
i use heal as one, greatsword/longbow, blue moa and reef drake
mostly they are mediocre.
I could see some working for PvP or WvW though
The value of the axe is known.
I simply said that the axes’ value are much worse than greatsword.
I will defeat your arguement with a single question:
Just consider how many people you see roaming with greatswords/bows and how many with axes
The overwhelming majority of the players disagrees with you.
And the 2 sigil buff was today. Even more buffs for the 2 handed.
Expect the gap to widen more.

pet is mediocre and you should focus your sigils for doing raw damage.
and not to try to buff an unreliable source of damage.
Anyway even with 30 beastmatery the pets still get one shotted by bosses
