1. It’s intended, so you will have to learn to live with it.
2. It’s not intended, so you will have to learn to live with it for now, but they will fix it.

and this everyone, is the difference between a good player and a bad player. the bad player rages about it and demands fixes, the good player adapts to the situation even if they think it is broken. really wish people were more like this guy.

Couldn’t have said it better, which is why 1v1 balance needs a good look into. Every build should have a chance at dealing with any PvP situation they encounter, not running away because they do not “counter” their opponent.

So every class should readily have a boon application, boon stripe, condition application, condition removal, stun breaker, good self heals, high defense , high damage out put, and crowd control all at the same time?

i’d have to disagree with shaolin. you can’t have every build be equally as good against every build that is kitten and doesn’t make for a very competitive game. you might as well strip away traits and utilites and just make everyone use base stats -__-

both wrong^^. it’s the culling, everyone has already figured it out lol. i’m on phenom x4 gtx 560, not a kittening noob so don’t tell me to clean my case underclock undervolt or anything stupid i’ve already gone through every single step you’ll probably list. and if the card was failing i would have higher temps on other games also or with extended monitor but this is not the case. only gw2 hits 100 degrees and only when there is obvious culling going on. bf3 stays below 75, gta i4 modded stays at 75, borderlands 2 is at 75. gw2 stays at 75 till action starts. happened the day of the 306.97 drivers which was also the same 24 hour period as the latest patch. also the gpu temp drops 40 degrees when i alt tab during culling. don’t need any more apps, already have msi afterburner and precision and amd overdrive and speedfan.

obviously nothing changed with my pc over night if your too dull to understand please leave the thread you’re not contributing to fixing our problem.

Overheating video cards are never a problem with a game, it is a problem with the video card. A video card can only give %100… and if that %100 overheats then it is the cards problem.

lol o really. that’s why last week i was playing at 80 degrees max in wvw and now i’m hitting 102? the only thing on my system changed was nvidia driver and gw2 update. i’ve already reapplied thermal paste on both cpu and gpu and still i’m getting 90 degrees at character select.

quit playing hot join or stop complaining about thieves. we’re not op unless you suck or you don’t pay attention in team fights. mesmers aren’t op either. yes they have the best 1v1 in the game right now, but they are drop dead useless in team fights at higher level tournament play, being used only for mobility and confusion.. and thieves suck at everything besides roaming in tournaments. if anythings op it’s the kittening down state and everyone kittening has it.

well guys i have had the same problem as you guys up until a few days ago. i’m running a phenom x2 565 be that i unlocked to a phenom x4 b65 @ 3.4ghz undervolted from 1.500v to 1.375v. i was crashing originally with just black screen and restart and eventually i ended up getting bsod’s a week later instead. after trying and failing with everything i eventually set my voltage on my cpu back up to stock, set my gpu (560se) to factory stock settings (not factory oc, just basic 560 @810mhz) and stock voltage, turn off my overclocking programs “turbo” (overdrive has a little green button, intel has turbo boost), and set my cpu usage to 100% in my power settings and run gw2 as administrator and i haven’t had a crash in 3-4 days. give it a try, or don’t i don’t care cause i’m too busy playing gw2 with no crashes now.

rety let me know if it’s still working for a whole play session. if all i have to do is turn down my settings i’ll be extremely happy.

You’re linking a synthetic non gaming benchmark that utilizes all cores. As said previously, games don’t utilize all cores, and per core performance is much more important.

Note CPU bound games such as WoW and SC2 performing almost 100% higher on Ivy Bridge compared to the FX-8150.

You forget to mention WoW and SC2 are also known for being poorly optimized too.

Just because the MMO and RTS genre are almost entirely CPU bound doesn’t mean they’re poorly optimized.

You’re again linking synthetic benchmarks. In that entire spreadsheet you link 2 games. One of which is Crysis 2. Crysis 2 is almost purely GPU bound in the same way that BF3 is. In the other game however, you can clearly see that it’s beaten by a mile.

If you’d like to fool yourself into thinking AMD is currently viable, go ahead. But please don’t go ahead misinforming others with false information.

Despite me playing various mmos between wow, rift and aion, I’ve only had problems with this game. Yeah I’m misinforming people by telling them how bad this game is optimized. I guarantee none of the devs are running AMD cpus and are only fixing performance problems for Intel users to save time and money.

Now kindly show me a benchmark were Pentium Dualcores outperform FX 8000’s.

There’s nothing wrong about being misinformed on certain subjects and learning something new. Problems only arise when you start stating said misinformation as unfounded fact.

um is that the stock settings for your gpu? it isn’t about the stress it’s something to do with either the client and cpu “turbo boosting” or it is a driver problem (unlikely). i have the same cpu as you, and i use amd overdrive to overclock it. i clicked the little turbo button in the top right corner and turned it off (not glowing) and i’m thinking this is the actual fix to the problem….

hey instead of just underclocking, make sure you underclock to basic factory settings and also turn off any oc boost program (amd overdrive/intel turbo boost). doing both fixed this problem for me.

i forgot to add also turn off any turbo boosting or oc boost (amd overdrive, intel turbo boost). if i use both fixes my game doesn’t crash at all.

try downclocking your gpu and disable any turbo boost (amd overdrive, intel turbo boost). this worked for me, i was having bsod’s/freezes every 30mins to an hour and now i’ve had none. i’ve tried using only one fix and not the other but i still freeze but if i do both i can play just fine. someone please try this and get back to me asap.

i had the same problem until i underclocked my gpu to basic factory settings. not company settings but stock factory settings. my fps dropped maybe 2 frames average but it’s worth not freezing every 30 minutes.

i do feel like they carebeared wvw a lot. but also i think things between servers and guilds on seperate servers are already going to get really sour when 2 week matches start. the last thing we need is the ability to know who just killed us and danced on our head so we can whisper them and rage…

Are you running through a Router? If it’s a 150 N home router or something similar (like a DLINK DIR-601), try unplugging it and run your PC straight to the modem instead… If that solves the issue, its time to get a better router… I had the same problem (got BSoD’s every 5-10 mins I play) and thought it was a driver/vid card issue… but it was my crappy Dlink router…. Took it out of the loop and I was able to play BSoD FREE…. Good luck man… I know how you feel

umm i have no modem i don’t think. i have the cord coming from the wall straight into my “router” which goes to my pc and my roommates pc. we have nothing inbetween the the cord and router. it’s this stupid motorola surfboard i know nothing about it
