Gems are also 40% more expensive than 4 days ago and 70% more expensive than 10 days ago. Buying in now for the “discounts” will be just as expensive as full price then if buying with gold.
Gems are always the same price when buying them. When converting gold to gems, thats another story.
So you got a minimum of 1 valuable item per minute not including the greens, blues and the rare? Id say thats acceptable. What are you expecting? Ive had an hour where I got 10 poerful bloods and then Ive had an hour where I got 1. I think those results are fine considering you could just sell the other stuff and buy whatever mats you need to make up for the lack of drops.
The crafting booster is pretty worthless.
It doesn’t really save you time or money at all.
Have you taken a character to 80 by crafting? I have and yes it saves both time and money. So no, its not worthless.
The booster raises your chance to get CRIT XP. I went from 1-80 by crafting and ended up only having to get around 100 points in the 8th craft. I used boosters the entire time I crafted.
The only evidence of manipulation would be kitten of someone buying every single instance of an item and then relisting it for a ridiculous price. Stop with your conspiracy theories, its speculation plain and simple. There was speculation before Halloween on sugar pumpkins, strawberries, cinnamon and many other things. Now they are all worthless again.
Im sure if you just replaced the 250 staves with 250 orichalcum greatsword blades youd get a greatsword and so on.
Some people have decided that they are not going to try to obtain a legendary due to the high grindiness of it. Its more in most peoples grasp to spend 150-300g on mats to make an almost legendary very rare Halloween weapon. 100 lodestones is more easily obtained than a million karma….just sayin.
They are used to frosty weapons which only one recipe has been posted yet. Im sure as they are found, and the spelling is corrected, they will reach the prices of other loDestones.
While I agree with you for the most part, you do realize that these high end weapons can be crafted at anytime, even after the event right? The only restriction you have is the actual event items that you require for the recipe. Use the week to farm up the rare mats you need, ie skulls, teeth, and whatever else there are. Then get the other mats over time when the event is over.
So Martoz, what youre saying is that you spent 1g44s and sold a dye you got out of 40 for 1g60s? And have 39 dyes that you could either use for your toon, put in the forge or sell for copper and silver? You just proved my point, and you did it with way less that I did. I never said you could get rich. Yeah youre going to lose gold here and there, but I have found that I come out on top more than I lose. Everyones luck will be diff.
And on a side note, how many dyes that sell for over a gold do you think Ill get if I open 4000 dyes at 3s10c? Im sure it would be enough to cover what I spent along with fully dye out all my characters and still have dyes to put in the forge.
oh, yeh sure, he knows when to buy and sell em lol.
They have been on a steady decline for ages.
They are used in gift crafting and the interest is now low as the items suck.
Look at any of the graph sites and you will see there is no money in flipping these.
It doesnt matter if something is in a decline as long as you can sell it for more than 115% of what you paid for it. Buying a dye at 3.10 and selling it for over 3.75 is a profit my friend. And if youre doing in the thousands, you do the math Einstien. But oh yeah, I dont know what Im talking about.
Like I said believe it or not I care not. I did an experiment and I was just posting some findings. I know enough about the fluctuation of dye prices to know when to buy and when to sell and make a profit, but this takes time, sometimes even close to a week to get the timing right. I was looking for a quick alternative and found that it worked more than it didnt. And just for the record, at any given time I have around 4k dyes on the TP and 3k in my inventory just waiting to be sold. If I wanted to dirve the prices of dye, I wouldnt try to do it here.
Yeah I did that and got a few that were worth putting on the TP but for the most part all the forge did was clean my inventory for the next opening session.
So Ive been trading unidentified dyes for a while now and wanted to try a little experiment with opening them. I wanted a faster way to make a little gold and this is solely based on my experience and your results could differ but just wanted to throw this out there.
I usually buy a stack for around 8g and hold them for a bit a then flip them to make a bit of gold. I wondered, what if I opened 250? How many rares would I get? Thinking about it, you only need to get an abyss and 2 other good dyes to make your money back then hope for good luck. So I got all my MF gear on, ate food and used a 50% booster to get around 160%+ I think. I opened my first 250. Within the first 15 popped and abyss. Then the rares just kept coming. I had already made my 8 gold back before I had opened 100. Now I tried this at least 4 times and heres where the interesting thing happened. The faster I clicked the dyes, the more rares I got. If I just clicked 1 then waited then 1 then waited, they were ALWAYS blue. If I clicked them as fast as I could so they pretty much couldnt keep up, they rares flowed pretty good.
Take it for what you want, but I have now opened close to 5k dyes and I havent lost anything, but I have gotten every dye I needed and made a hefty sum of gold. Now I didnt get an abyss every stack, but between blacks, whites and midnights, and the higher selling rares, I always made my 8g back.
Since the team loves to replace everything with “kitten” we need a kitten gun. It would be awesome to kill people in wvw with a gun that shoots cudly, fluffy kittens. Maybe leave little paw prints when you run around.
I saved up 30g for the human chest. The only good looking chest I could find without farming a dungeon for days. If you can farm up 30g once, you can do it again. Its only virtual gold and means nothing.
Contrary to what others have said in this thread, wvwvw is technically a pve zone with pvp in it. Lst time I checked, you actually gain a lose based on taking mob controlled keeps and camps. You dont actually have to pvp to do these. Heres a little advice if you arent a pvper. Transfer to the server that dominating and run around for a few hours and get everything you need.
