Not really. WvW can be played in small groups.
That’s what wvw is for
Unranked is way too easy.
You must go talk to bad luck brian in outer space so he can grant you the nyan cat sword but not before you charge it to over 9000 power level
It depends on the circumstances. Players who refuse to swap classes or listen to reason deserve to get criticized.
Players who refuse to swap are most likely trying to get class achievements done, but that’s the players fault right? Not the game design. So “criticize” them all you like, I’m sure you’re playing their main and could say a few things themselves about you.
If im in a game with 3 thiefs i expect at least 1 to swap cmon bro lol dont troll
Well in s2 everybody was playing necro, it wasn’t uncommon to encounter 3 or 4 necros on a team because the class was severely overpowered. Warrior was literally trash, having one on your team meant it was 5v4 because your average noob could easily take down a warrior of any skill level in seconds. Guardian was actually a decent class in S2 because True Shot could actually kill people and Dh was a hard counter to Reapers. Scrapper was very good as well because of slick shoes and healing turret spam combined with other shanadigans allowed Scrapper to sustain in 1v5 fights if he was good enough. Smokescale for Ranger was deadly and could bite your posterior right off of you if you weren’t careful. Revanant was good, thief was good, mesmar was really good as well along with the good ol Ele.
Key binds are everything. You must be 100% comfortable with your binds.
Memorizing what each of your traits do is a task that most players do not accomplish, when in fact it is the cornerstone to becoming good at PvP

If guard/dh is so bad off, why am I seeing teams consistently stack with 2-4 DH and win? In my opinion Pro League is pretty much irrelevant to day-to-day PvP.
If you lose to a team that stacks 2- 4 Guardian or Dh then you should seriously evaluate your own skill and contemplate if Guild Wars 2 is meant for you.
And class stacking 3 or 4 or 5 of the same class provides no inherent advantage unless if its an ele i guess but other than that class stacking is bad
Necros aren’t op anymore. they got nerfed hard.
I’m with the others on this. Though it’s rough for them now, Guardians actually HAVE a purpose, to stack a point with traps! For low-mid level players that’s good enough!
You guardians think you have it as bad, us warriors on the other hand, were basically ROADKILL these past two seasons. At least guardians have a fighting chance here.
Actually guardians don’t have a ghost of a chance vs half competent players. Any person with common sense won’t fall in dh traps.
I’ve been one-shot through Endure Pain AND Resistance on my warrior from a guardian. Granted, if I survive, I’ll probably win, but still. You guys have it rough right now, but still not as bad as wars had it the first two seasons.
Play to your strengths and bait people into your traps.
Yeah Guardians don’t have it as bad as Warrior in s2 but that doesn’t make a difference when their only reliable burst skill (true shot) got nerfed to the point of being useless.
1. The class can’t rotate at all
2. The class does not have reliable sustain
3. The class does not have reliable cc options
4. The class does not have reliable burst options
5. Any half decent player will not get killed by your traps
Stomping is very hard to learn for most PvPers.
The guys above me are wrong. The Guardian/Dh is in a terrible position even at low level play. The class can’t even rotate effectively if its life depended on it. Yu’ll just be wasting your time playing this class.
I disagree with you about “lack of build diversity.” Sure, in the tournament scene you are required to use a meta build if you want your team to do well. But anything other than that, vanilla builds are totally viable. I personally use a power build on my Ranger and i always do good in matches.
How else do you expect for a thief to get a kill without a good burst?
I never knew Necro and Dh aoe cc was a threat to the meta.
Thief burst is fine where it is.
I’m on a 5 game winning streak as we speak.
I’ll be blunt with you Anet: The lobby room is hideous.
Just joking. But the roon could use a rework. Lions arch is beautiful, so why can’t the PvP lobby be just as gorgeous?
Discuss what you think should be done to make the room much less if an eyesore.
It would be nice to get a guild area and a crafting area in the pvp lobby…there is soo much unused space atm
Agree 100%. A dueling arena wouldn’t be too bad of an idea either don’t you think?
Indeed. Although i was getting at the actual visuals of the PvP lobby.
Queue times have been improved significantly as far as i can tell.

Troll thread detected.
The class is in a awful position. There’s really not much else to say.
Although it may not seem like it, queue times are a lot better now than they were last season.
It would open the door for cheating.
Not all good builds are condi builds.
Maybe he was just tired? Or perhaps his little brother kept annoying him, so he was unable to concentrate? It could be a lot of reasons.
One of the hardest things to do in this game is lose a 1v1 to a thief on an engi.
A serious lack of skills is required
A theif is not designed to 1v1, and most good theives will not attempt to 1v1 you unless you’re playing a particular build that doesn’t have reliable burst or sustain options.
I disagree with you about Engy. You must not be aware of how good Scrapper is.
Dagger/Focus Tempest is the best class this season. So you could call it OP.
I always get dc’ed and lose a pip because of it. I have gotten used to it.
It’s the Globalist’s New World Order agenda. The system is designed to keep hard working players on the bottom while the wealthy elite sit on top.
Vanilla players don’t stand a chance in PvP? I whole heartedly disagree. I use a Power Survival Ranger build and i always do well. I use condi pistols on my Engineer and i outperform my teammates who are using meta elite spec builds.
Sure, elite spec builds ARE overpowered in the game at the moment, but that doesn’t mean you can’t do well using a vanilla build.
I disagree that the Dh has “zero party support” due to the fact that Dh can apply Aegis, retallition and protection to allies. Dh is essentially a bunker class because your teammates can stick close to you for protection (Dh traps) and you could apply helpful boons to your teammates. Dh also has some sustain, although it can’t outsustain an ele or a well played scrapper.
Give us Dragonhunter users some mobility so we can rotate effectively, or give us more CC and lower cooldowns on our virtues/healing abilities. Buffing true shot to do more damage could work as well along with damage buffs on our other Longbow skills.
It really is. I don’t like how Druid is played so I’m always using this build.
I agree. Last season i was getting hit with 2 hour dishonor timeouts just because i forgot to click ready on the PvP queue.
Anything a Guardian can do, another class can do better.
The class has no mobility, its traps are very easy to play around especially if you’re a Ranger/Ele, it can’t rotate effectively (lack of mobility) and it can’t out-sustain an ele in an 1v1. The guardian also has no disengage tools so you’re basically screwed if the fight isn’t going your way.
It’s certainly not as bad as Warrior was last season, I’ll give it that. It still is a decent counter to theives. I use my Dh/bunker guard every now and then in unranked matches.
Revanant is really good at the moment but i don’t see any new nerfs in the near future.
They still haven’t come.
From what I have heard, WoW PvP is whack-a-mole. You just need to upgrade your hammer to hit faster.
Its nice to see Warrior back in the meta.

This thread is very entertaining to say the least.
Eh, its not too bad. No complaints here.
Anybody else run it? It’s really fun to use, a decent alternative for us Rangers that don’t like using Druid.
My traitlines are Marksmanship, Beastmastery and Wilderness Survival.
Wilderness Knowledge makes our survival skills have lower cooldowns and remove 2 conditions on use. Shared Anguish transfers disables to our pets so we don’t got to worry about stun, daze, etc.
Since smokescale got nerfed i figured it couldn’t hurt to try out a new pet. I have been using Juvenile Black Bear as a replacement for Smokescale because his F2 skill applies weakness for 10 seconds, a much longer duration compared to the normal 4 seconds of weakness that all our pets apply due to the Wilting Strike trait.
i remember when longbow was kinda joke and shortbow was awesome.
then the nerf nation attack
Yes under Sozins comet
Expect to see a ton of Revanants.
Anet seems deadly opposed to free market in my opinion.
