Even worse when it’s only open when you can’t even get online. For those on the NA west coast: 11:30 AM, 4:15 PM, and 1:15 AM. If you work 8-5 you’re screwed unless you are willing to stay up until 1:15 AM.
Its pretty dumb to have it as a daily eh?
Can i ask whats the point of having a tournament DAILY when most of them are closed all day or there is just one open for a short window?. Its a dumb choice given that you cant actually get in one lol
Join a real match and you can easily get at least 2/3 dailies even if you lose. Never understood the need for special rooms for them.
Because regular PvP players are rather unpleasant to other gamers, daily rooms means you dont get any of that.
Whats the point of having a trounament daily when you cant enter any of them?
Orrian Excavation Crew [ORR] is looking for new memebers to help me build the guild. All levels of play and skill are very welcome, We are mainly a PVE guild and focus on farming, story, maps and fractals. Would love some experienced players to join to help me with these facets, If interested either post here or message me in game,
Thanks in advance

Have black lion keys been removed from completing maps rewards?
The key farm for me isn’t an issue, don’t really want the chest drop rate increased though get too much worthless junk in game as it is. The chests are worthless and even if you get a key they give useless rubbish just storage filling garbage. Maybe that’s the point fill your storage with worthless junk so you buy more storage.

All my ranger pets in hall of monuments have vanished any reason why?
This new one is terrible and makes it pretty much impossible for newcomers in the game to get gems without paying your fees, I’m guessing that’s the point. So people have to spend real money on them. Something anet said they would never do. Be sensible revert it back
yeah problem still isn’t resolved with installation but at least I got an email, going on 50 hours plus and haven’t been able to play now since September the 9th. I know anet is working on it but guys please please sort this out . I just wanna get back in the game. My issue is I cant even reinstall it
Been over 24 hours still cant install and so far silence from anet. Just a response as to the tune we are looking into it would be nice.
Since the patch yesterday my client became unresponsive so I thought that maybe uninstalling/reinstalling gw2 would work, but no now I can’t even re-install the game. Any news as yet of a fix of some kind or at least word of when a possible fix may be around. This is extremely frustrating. I have looked at all the other fixes but they seem to be more suited to people with the game still installed.
Hope this issue is being looked at and if so could you at least just respond here so we know its being looked at (because I’m aware I’m not the only one with this issue.
Doesn’t help me still cant re-install the game. Please tell me someones doing something XD

http://puu.sh/bsCZR/30120c2d98.jpgSee this? Yeah, this is what happened after several attempts at trying to reinstall the game. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling after my client locked up after downloading the patch. I can’t even reinstall right now.
Stuck at this non-responsive client.
Having the same problem I have no guild wars 2 at all at the moment either
this is beyond ridiculous
Hey guys,
If you are having this issue and crashing after the update we recommend you try the following troubleshooting steps to try to resolve the issue.
First, try disabling any antivirus you have on your system. Sometimes after programs/games are updated, the antivirus program will see them as a threat due to the new files added to the program/game which can cause issues.
If this does not resolve the issue and allow you to download/launch the client you can try moving the game out of the program files folder. If you are not sure how to do this please follow the instructions below.
1. Navigate to your Guild Wars 2 folder, which by default should be C:\Program Files(x86)\Guild Wars 2.
2. Move this folder to a new location like C:\Games\Guild Wars 2. The location doesn’t matter specifically, as long as it’s outside of Program Files and Program Files(x86).
3. Navigate to this new location and “Right-click” on “GW2.exe” selecting “Create Shortcut.”
4. Rename this shortcut to “Guild Wars 2 Admin Mode.”
5. “Right-click” on “Guild Wars 2 Admin Mode” and select “Properties.”
6. Click the “Compatibility” tab.
7. Checkmark “Run this program as an Administrator.”
8. Click “Ok.”
Once completed, please double click “Guild Wars 2 Admin Mode” and try playing Guild Wars 2 again. If this helps resolve your issue, please copy that shortcut and use it to start Guild Wars 2 from now on.
If you are still experiencing issues after performing the above steps, comment on this thread and let us know.
I cant even install the game when I had problems I went to do a fresh install and nothing is happening at all I click on install guild wars 2 and not a thing happens
I just initializes then nothing……I cant even get on the game anymore…fyi this totally sucks fix it please
ty ty ty ty that worked
I was playing the game fine all other characters could move around freely but I tired taking one to timberline falls and I’m stuck in the loading screen, I tried with another character and the same thing happened, I have tried moving around the world map with other characters and have no issue at all. I’m avoiding timberline though in case I get another one stuck there. Any help or advice?
PS yes I have fully logged out and waited several minutes before retrying but doesn’t seem to be working
I get to the point where it says regroup in courtyard I do and (vigil story) fargol just stands there with trahearne and deputy mira and nothing happens. Is this a recognised fault since the patch on the 15th and if so any news on when it will be resolved.
Stood there for at least 10 minutes in one outing
Ty in advance if anyone has information
Seriously??? A dungeon, so its not living story its just another reason to add yet another dungeon. I was looking forward to some story content but its just a dungeon. Cheers
And please don’t try to make out that dungeons have anything to do with story only one that did was Zhaitan rest were just filler.
Ah! Such a bittersweet teaser. I want to now more!
What will the new achievements look like?
What items can you buy with laurels?
How expensive will the ascended amulets be?
What improvements will we see in the UI?
Will we get a token tab in our collectable storage?
And what the frak is happening in the north? Is it a prelude to Jormag and the first expansion, or will this storyline revolve around the free content primarily? Will we get to fight something big after the 28th? How will all of this play into the big changes that are coming?Sigh, so many questions, such a long wait.
lol you would have loved war in kryta, sometimes we waited a month just to watch a conversation on that living story :P
At first when I saw the introduction of the guild missions and the cost for building them I over reacted and got angry. Yes while the missions themselves may well be designed for smaller guilds the actual required influence for building them is more of a large guild idea, I think options are needed to help both large and small guilds gain something from the new content.
Anet have always been reasonably good at listening to the community of players who play the game, I’m hoping they are reading our concerns and thinking of ways to tweak. I also think another level to guild workshop would be useful. Otherwise most build time will be taken up by guild missions and not providing useful guild buffs. I know we have Asuran outsourcing but I still recommend a rebalance of the workshop with the addition of new build types.
I don’t have any particular favorites, but some lines are indeed memorable. Off the top of my head…
“You’ll never block me like that.”
“Hold… hold…”
“You’ll never catch them if they reach the water.”
“This rose has thorns! Here they are!”
“Treasure… devour…”
“I swung a sword. I swung a sword again. Hey! I swung it again!”Actually, that last one isn’t in game although I wish it was – every time any character, PC or NPC, attacked with a sword! Even better, have a version for every weapon. “I swung a mace.” “I swung a torch.” That would be awesome. Well, maybe not for bows. Although if we ever get new skills for existing weapons, being able to whop someone over the head with a bow (melee range, of course) would be cool. In which case, our characters proclaiming “I swung a bow” would not seem quite so irregular.
ahhh claypool I plan to buy a house there one day!
“its not enough to hit the target…………”
The story is a bit content weak in gw2 admittedly and the replay value is somewhat limited once story ends, but I was in GW1 in the early days and after a while you got sick of tyria, but anet will give us new and better things to do.
Keep perspective its not even a year old yet.
And I agree with vayne, the skill system was my favourite part of guild wars 1 as well, but in time I’m sure the current system will be upgraded with the arrival of new content. But I do miss the depth of the old one.

I find dailies a highly satisfying and enjoyable way of earning EXTRA items that are not massively essential to my playing of the game. Anet have always stated they don’t want the whole “End Game” experience and tbh if your a long time follower of the franchise as I am the end of the game is a long way away yet.
Unlike with other games every campaign (campaign is a complete stand alone game that connects to the original such as factions and nightfall did with GW1) or expansion, (eye of the north, prelude to gw2). There’s a lot more story to come and I cant wait to get back to cantha tbh.
They are adding new content all the time, since august we have had Halloween, lost shores (bit of a fiasco from all accounts but still new.) which introduced fractals, Flame and frost is in the making and we have had looks at the new stuff now already, that’s less than six months into the games life. No offence but that’s pretty kitten good considering a lot of MMOs don’t make that much in a full year.
Note: Forgot Christmas and the Tixx dungeons.
They are making changes and adding and removing things all the time, I’m not overly impressed with the guild missions because I’m devoted to my small guild, its a problem but my problem and I will get over it. And no offence but there’s plenty to keep your friends busy as new players for quite a while before they have to worry about end game.
I wont list everything, I think we are all pretty familiar with it.
I love dailies and tbh its been more fun doing them together than a guild than ever before, I thought the guild missions would be the end of my merry band but we have found it a rather uniting experience because we do dailies together. So yeah in my opinion dailies are awesome

I finally leveled my main through to 80 and through the story and…well, Trahearne is freaking awesome. I never felt overshadowed by him, more like partners. Throughout the plot it was obvious that we saw our development alongside Trahearne’s own growth.
I dunno, not ranting or anything, I just don’t get all the hate. Is it envy for that wicked greatsword he’s got or something? He’s pretty cool, IMO (but yeah, dat sword).
Trahearnes constant waffle is what puts me off him, if I hear “Its dropped poison stay away from it” one more time I will turn his cabbage head into coleslaw.
Almost makes me miss Togo and Mehnlo

for those who dont want to read the link.
Basically you play round robin.First you unlock guild bounties with 30K influence. Then you earn 30 merits (will take you 2 weeks)
From there you need rank 6 economy. This lets you unlock guild treks (influence and 30 merits)
After that you get r6 politics, 80 merits and another heaping helping of influence for guild rush.
Then it’s back to art of war, pick up art of war 6, and spend more merits for guild challenge
Finally you go to architecture 6, 250 merits and 50k influence for guild puzzles.Bounties cost 0 merits to unlock, so you have to start there. You will have between 30-50 merits in 2 weeks for guild treks (which honestly is fine, as you basically need 2 weeks to research econ 5 and 6)
If you’ve got 50, you pay 30 to reach 20, then you can earn up to 35 a week, meaning it’ll take another 2 weeks to afford guild rush. I forget how many challenge is, but basically you’ll be unlocking a new guild mission every other week or so assuming you have full influence/are able to complete them for merits.
Thanks for that, appreciated.
FTR the “suppose I wont get an answer” comment was made cos for some reason it got moved out of the forum I originally posted in.
Secondly doesn’t look like my guild will be doing guild missions before Christmas lol, the cost is too high for small guilds but nevermind

I was looking at the requirements for unlocking guild missions and its says we need to unlock certain things like building guild puzzles and such which require guild merits. …….you only get guild merits from completing guild missions so how in hell are we going to get them if we cant do any? anyone got an answer please? cos it doesn’t make much sense at the moment
on any server.
1.) what made you choose and stay on the server you’re on?(guilds and friends aren’t a valid reason since transfers were free for four months)
2.) what will it take for the wvw players to get you into wvw?
3.) wvw benefits your dungeon runs, do you not agree that helping us get the buffs you benefit from is the right thing to do?
4.)is it the repair bill that scares you out?(i know pve players with upwards of 200g, so the fact that they’re scared of a 10s repair bill is confusing)
5.) why would a risen priestess of milandru be impressed with your Sunrise?
6.) to my GOM bros specifically, some of the PvE guilds on our server are upwards of 300+(and active), can you grasp how much of a difference just 1/10 of your guild members would make if they were active in wvw daily?
k, gripe over.
1. Why should we play content we aren’t interested in. Because you say we should?
2. And friends and guild are a valid reason especially in my case as a lot of my friends who are in age restricted organisation were on the server I chose, whereas a lot of my long time guild members from gw1 were a couple of years short of the age restriction.
3. Getting sneak killed by thief ambushes before you even reach a decent fight, makes the whole thing irritating.
4. If I wanted to do something that feels pointless and repetitive with no reward I would take up fishing
5. A risen priestess of Melandru might not be impressed with a sunrise, but maybe that’s the point, PVE players don’t need the ego massage that pvp players seek and the “ooh and Ahh” of adoring guild members of how great it was when 5 of you took down a lone player trying to reach the battle.
6. I don’t play WvW simply because its dull, I find hanging around penitent and shelter a much more community building experience because you get to meet people. Group events also are another way of making friends.
7. Finally to each his own.
8. There are other ways of getting buffs.
Up until this morning i have had no issues running or playing gw2 but for some reason it keeps crashing and running the verify and repair process i have run this three times now but its still happening, anybody know what could be casuing this?
The length between crashes varies greatly someties its an hour or so sometimes its minutes or even seconds
Ask yourself this question: why are you complaining?
All personal rewards attained through the missions are available through other means, and the content itself can be done with a guild you’re not even a part of. You’re not missing out on the experience, and you’re not missing out on the benefits.
What exactly are you missing out on? Well, guild merits for your guild. To do the higher tiered missions you can already do with other guilds, to get the rewards that are already available to you.
The complaining is absurd, and is the epitome of self-entitlement. Not even for rewards or the experience itself, just because. Personally, I haven’t had a meaningful use for influence since Halloween, and I know I’m not alone in welcoming this kind of content.
Its not absurd if you want your guild to grow your argument is based on the diea that all we want is loot. Some of us were trying to build a community an outmoded and obviously ridiculous concept in modern gaming.
Grinding is running the same events over and over purely for leveling up and progression. This is not a true grind in that its something that leads up to progression now if your talking about running guild events over and over this is more true to the idea of a grind. Its like getting mad at part one of a story because you got to read it before you can get to part 2.
I think it’s more equivalent to saying that you would get mad at one part of a story because you would have to read the first part, then take an exorbitantly pointless long time piecing every page together of the second part before being able to read it.
No that would be calling every thing in the game up to the point of guild events “pointless long time piecing every page together.” See to get to the AoW level you must PLAY the game a odd idea right to think you got to play a game to play a game!
I never said that you shouldn’t have to play the game. It’s still an incredibly ludicrous amount of gameplay time needed to get that much influence, especially for a Guild of 5-15 players that have school, jobs, or parenting to do. The amount of grinding that a small Guild would have to do to be able to “pay” for the influence is insane and offputting.
Well why be in a big guild or in a guild at all then? The idea was to reward ppl for being in active guilds not guild that are so small that they have problems making one pt (there is a line that needs to be made the difference between a guild and a pt) or guild that only show up at the end of the month for a week and then everyone goes away waiting for the next update.
Think of it this way this guild mission set has no info about what you get for being in the guild that started it or not being in the guild that started it. I would like more info before ppl start screaming for Anets blood. Read what ppl are posting they are going too far some of them could be reported for person attks.
If Anet finds it to be too much of a burden for “small” guilds i am sure there will be a fix one way or another. Just please do not think you must get all the new content done the first day it has come out.
This was a thread designed to allow people to express concerns if you dont have any concerns and are quite happy with the system why post? You are of course allowed to openly voice your oppinion but so are we. Our opinions are no less valid than yours.
why should we have to join bigger guilds if we wanted to do that we would have done that 5 months ago fact is we shouldnt be fpocred to be swallowed by faceless influence factories.
We like the friends we have and we like our independence thanks.
I will pick A) B ) and C)
Let me reiterate what Izzy said in another thread:
Isaiah Cartwright
I know there have been some concerns about Guild Bounties being in the Art of War line. Our goal with this system is to give guilds activities and long-term progression that they can accomplish by working together as a guild. These missions are meant to be difficult and challenging to not only unlock, but to accomplish.
We would also like to make every guild upgrade line valuable to every guild. Currently, Art of War is very focused on PvP and WvW, but our plan is to continue to add more guild upgrades in the Art of War line to accomplish this. These Guild Missions are the first step. Along with this system, we also added a number of new guild upgrades that guilds can earn.
In the end, our goal for all of this content is to give guilds new goals and challenges to accomplished once they have researched deeply into each line, as well as require guilds to have researched multiple lines to unlock some upgrades. We expect guild members to have to work together as a guild to earn the influence needed to unlock these new missions, as well as overcome the challenge of the missions themselves.
In the future, we plan to continue to add more guild upgrades, as well as continue to add challenging guild missions, as we don’t want guilds to run out of goals and accomplishments they can achieve.
~Izzy @-’—-
This was in a post that was closed were we were already voicing our concerns that got closed.
Simple fact is recruiting now for smaller guilds will be next to impossible. People will go with big guilds that already have the guild infrastructure in place. Smalls guilds dont stand a chance of competing. Its that simple.
And with the plans to add even more to the guild build line that means we are gonna fall further and further behind as people leave to join the big guilds where this stuff is set up.

I’m almost certain that regardless of who has valid points to bring to the table or not, when an update causes your community to rip and tear at each other’s throats like this……..it’s a bad update.
I posted this on page 3 of what is (as of this post) a 13 page thread:
I’m bolding the important parts for emphasis. Because when you rip the very social structure of your game apart, due to a combination of bad marketing, lack of focus testing, and assumptions, then yes, you need to revisit your design in light of valid player concerns.
What I sadly observe in this thread is a growing dichotomy in the playerbase, even before the content is released. GW2 is now just another MMO with a growing “haves and haves not” division.
It appears that ANet has managed, in the space of one day’s worth of marketing hype to foster the same negative community tensions that define at least 3 other MMOs, making it harder to differentiate these games in terms of customer experience and feel. Perhaps that was the goal. Perhaps it was entirely unintentional. Again, the third set of content added that does not appear to have passed a focus group test.
Happy to see that part of GW2’s constituency has meaningful content.
And saddened it appears to be coming at the expense of community feel.
The new content will probably be a mixed bag of players adapting and adjusting as the new reward mechansim placed in front of them demands. There will probably also be attrition, as expected. Hopefully the balance will even out over time. Or until the next “controversial” content is released. In the meantime, a wedge has been applied and the social dynamics have been affected.
ANet has lost credibility in their “community-feel” messaging. Which was a major positive marketing factor for GW2.
The “Community” aspect of GW2 has been dreadful from the start “ressing” random players is not community building even though its in the community achievements its just basic common decency.
The guilds have been flawed from the start, and this has just compounded things. I’m not angry, I’m really not i think indifferent is more accurate. Anyone who is familiar with anet like i am and have been in one of their games for the last 7 years, and we know when they are hitting the PR companies with great sounding guff, means we are in for disappointment. So I knew this update wouldn’t be the holy grail that would fix the many issues GW2 has.
The dreadful story content up to level 59, the lack of replay value after killing zhaitan the grind they said would never happen. The community has been broken since the game opened. I cant see anyway that they are ever gonna fix it. But I will carry on playing. Hoping that one day they actually get it right.
10 people is a very good size for a Tier 1 bounty mission.
<facepalm> so no thought about the small 2-5 man guild? It seems that the better game content is now exclusively for huge Zerg Guilds. My guild currently has 3 active members and we will not have a chance to play this premium part of the game until after the servers are turned off. And no, we are not buying gems to pay for influence to get the good stuff. <facepalm, laugh, shakes head>
and what about 1 man guild, we can continue to go down numbers like this. 10 active members is good number for this.
with this mentality everything will be done for solo group player, o wait this is already the case for 90% of the game: dungeons, fractals, spvp, group event. only wvw is for large guild and was pvp. now they add pve for large group this is fair and square.you are pretty selfish only thinking about your small scale guild, big guild wish to have fun in large group too and not only in wvw. Not everything should be designed for group size event. SHARE THE CAKE WITH OTHER, IF YOU CANNOT YOU ARE SELFISH
Its not selfish to want to play with your guild mates on an equal footing to the large guilds in respect of game content. Your point is vapid and not well thought out. There’s nothing for small guilds in game.
Your very point makes it obvious your the selfish one lol
(edited by jesterchaos.5907)
This whole update is designed to make small guilds untenable and have to join the mass conglomerate guilds that plague the servers already.
this has done nothing to increase the sense of community, in fact its made things worse. Now the only options we have left as small guilds is to let members join bigger guilds thus decreasing our influence gain and making the whole thing a farce.
if the idea was to make three or four huge guilds then kudos achievement made. But its a big middle finger to us smaller guilds.
Anet talks about game improvement but i don’t see any, just more of the same guff getting put in the game with every update.
Viable and useful guild tools would have been preferable to this rubbish.
I have never seen anyone being anything but cordial on my server, come to Aurora Glade, we have forums <3
yeah will only cost 1800 gems to swap
Personally i just don’t see the point of leveling a char if your just gonna be downgraded if you go into a low level area may as well just stay away from them and hang around in Southsun or Cursed shore. Why spend the money on gear and the time on leveling if you gain no advantage from it. and tbh apart from world completion there’s no point going back to starter areas once done.
Replay value is shockingly non existent. Only replay value are dungeons and wvw, in pve there’s nothing.
PS flashing the guild message when people log in wouldn’t hurt either. Its in guild wars 1 so why in gods name wasn’t it put in in guild wars 2
Despite the so called exciting changes, it still doesn’t fix the massively flawed guild structure. How about giving us a guild message that can be edited without losing what we have already written. More effective guild tools and information so we can see who is active and who isn’t.
Removing the multiple guild based on account and giving us alliances back. The multiple guild system is counter productive.
Adding random events in the persistent world where anyone can join in is just more of the same of what we already have only difference is its not doable on your own.
Build some community tools before you add more pointless content .
sane issue cant log in
Whether Lionguard Lyns is going to be working again soon or am I wasting time collecting commendations?
wow this is becoming a pattern same thing happened at halloween. I was playing fine before this bs update.
