Congratulations! Great feeling after all the time/effort put in.
I raised this question to the developers in their most recent AMA and this was their reply:
Hi, thanks for your response.
Just curious why not power ps?
I dunno dps comparisons so don blame me k.
- From personal experience, Power PS has kind of a hard time compared to Condi PS – not saying that Power PS is bad
- For Mama, the first 67% on a Power PS is great since I can just melee all the way but once the poison AOE drops and it starts jumping, the effectiveness of Power PS starts to drop imo – especially if Mama is standing on top of poison
- Power PS is great for the other bosses though
When u say rev, like meta rev or some obscure ventari build?
cos like, power rev is totally viable. confirm as the go-to carry class for pugs who ain’t usin pots, esp at last boss. slap on perma port and regen and jus yolo mode it wit one hand tied behind ur back or somthin.
- By Rev I meant meta (Power) Rev and yes, I agree with you that it is great to share all those boons hence I included it in my potential list to try out in a party of 4.
Cheers
I don’t feel like this feature is required. Back when dungeons were more popular, some of the Arah paths can take longer than F100CM and it was fine. I think it all comes down to having the expectation that F100CM may take >30 mins for inexperience groups.
From personal experience, when I create my own party and list out my preferred requirements (e.g. title/pots/etc.), the run is usually enjoyable/smooth.
Thanks for the responses. I will test it around and see how it goes.
Cheers.
Hi all,
A couple of friends and I would like to attempt to do F100CM with a party of 4. We all have experience with F100CM and do it almost everyday but we’ve never tried doing it with less than 5 people. I was just wondering if any experienced players who low-man F100CM can give me some advice on potential 4-man party comps to try out.
I have the following comps in mind:
- Chrono, Condi PS, Condi Druid, Ele/Thief
- Chrono, Condi PS, Condi Druid, Other DPS
- Chrono, Condi PS, Heal Ele, Ele/Thief
- Chrono, Condi PS, Heal Ele, Other DPS
- Chrono, Rev, Druid, DPS
- Chrono, Rev, Heal Ele, DPS
- Other suggestions?
Any advice is appreciated!
Cheers
What classes have you attempted with?
Like Ori’s post stated, having all the fractal potions activated would make it easier.
If we’re talking solely about the first boss (Mama), I don’t recall it to have much ‘1-shot kill’ mechanics. Only ones that come to mind are:
- Bubble mechanic
- Sub 33% when Mama starts moving and jumping and you can’t dodge the jump when Mama jumps directly on top of you – I normally just dodge into Mama to instantly avoid all 3 of those shockwaves then dodge back to avoid the swipe.
@nagr: your story is so heartbreaking, i am in tears.
but really, do you want to buy a raid? i heard people have ways to see if other fake their LI?
LUL
Ouchhhh
If you want to play a class that is tanky, safe, not speed-clearing through everything then I’d recommend Viper Necro.
If you want to play a class that is less tanky and understand the mechanics of the fractal well or is looking to speed-clear things, power tempest may be a good solution.
Why not get both geared and try both and see which one suits you more?
If you have beehives left over after Berg is dead, move those closer to the prisoner cage. Once Narella spawns, pick up one of the beehives and throw it using the 1 skill, on the ground in front of the cage. The effect will last for a couple of sab spawns, just keep an eye on them, you’ll see a debuff below their health bar. The bees will take care of the CC on the sabs, you just need to remember to put one down and reapply as needed.
Exactly this – pretty handy thing to know/do.
Have you tried posting on LFG that you’re looking for experienced players for CM100? – e.g. “Unclean title + all potions” etc.
There’s a handy little trick to that I believe few ppl figure it out as well (I did by myself) but dodge into his circle and somewhat close to his hitbox and u will avoid shockwave entirely. Then simple dodge follow by that but, more commonly, simply sidestepping out of that minion explode part will likewise do the trick.
Therefore u reduce it from max of 3 dodges to roughly 1.5 dodges being required (provided ur somewhere close to boss). If not, dodge shockwave and sidestep out for an average of 0.5 dodges. Imo ranged does have it slightly easier for this attack.
Further to this neat trick, I would like to also share a similar trick for Necro players which I found out about after another guild member told me about.
For Necros, when the boss does the stomp:
- Dodge into it so you can dodge both the stomp + shockwave – as nagr mentioned above
- When the minions spawn, pop your F1 (shroud) and tank the minion explosion
- Once the explosion finishes, immediately exit shroud and you will see that your life force is at full again
Therefore Necros can just use 1 dodge to fully mitigate that whole stomp + shockwave + minion explosion mechanic.
Can we have Fractals of the Mists lobby like the one in PvP where Fractals runners can hang out…….
You want ANet to create a massively multiplayer instance for… runners? What’s wrong with using LFG to find clients and using LA to hang out?
I think they mean that the lobby of the fractals becomes a complete instance, that houses 150 people, rather than just the 5 in party.
I don’t know how difficult it would be to change the mechanics to to do that. If its doable, I’m all in favor of it. But I don’t need it very badly. Its just handy. A lobby where everyone is focussed on the fractals. Then you can talk about fractals in the map chat because you know everyone else there has their mind set to fractals as well. You can also ask around for tips and people’s help easier than in Lions Arch since everyone in Lions Arch is doing their own thing
This is a great suggestion!
Hi all,
After spending a couple of hours in F100 CM, I finally managed to complete it last night. I really enjoyed the mechanics and encounter of this fractal as I felt it has helped me develop more as a player.
With all the wipes that I’ve experienced, it has made me improve better as a player both mechanically as well as understanding more about my classes.
Thanks a-net~
Player Name: Certified Doc
Note: Please have mist potions as well
Completed both Normal + Challenge Mote.

What issue are you having with in Fractals at the moment?
When they first added in Chaos fractal and the new instabilities (flux bomb, poison trail, etc.), my group did have issues adapting to these mechanics but it’s been a while since that happened. Even with the Lich form nerf for Necros, my group is finding T4 dailies alright at the moment.
Hi,
I was doing the daily T4 fractal for Snowblind just now. We were up to the last boss and everything went well. When we got the boss to 50%, it teleported up to the cliff area and several monsters spawned while the boss continued firing away his AOE attacks. However when we killed all the monsters, the boss never came back down to the fighting area. The boss remained at the cliff area and continued raining down his AOE attack.
In the end my group just wiped and had to re-do the encounter, hoping that the bug doesn’t happen again. Luckily, this did not happen on our 2nd try and the boss did come back down when we got him to 50% and after we cleared the monsters.
Same here Been doing Daily 51+ achievements everyday and only got 1 asc boot box
Been doing 51+ dailies everyday since fractal got updated. Only have 1 asc armor box so far ><
I thought it was mentioned that the Fractal patch would happen in Dec?
Thanks Anet for this Amaizeing farm!
Congratulations mate!
Great work! Nice vid as well!
Thanks Anet, best farming spot ever. You can do the same thing in any other part of the world with three ambiental creatures in a little space, so I do understand why this is not considered an exploit, but I like the luck of being late to the dungeon party.
For the first time I feel rewarded for not having so much time to play as others. You missed the spot? bwa ah ha ha ha ha ah ah ah ha ha happy halloween!p.s. c’mon, really, just find a place with 3 ambiental creatures (max number convertible in a single shot) and stop whining
^ Agree
Eviscerate comes from the Axe Burst skill right? So you swap weapons yeah?
Wow that’s heaps good mate. What rotation skill did you use?
Hi Konu,
In that case, does that mean all I need is to have all the Ascended trinkets and I should get higher power???
Hi Konu,
So I went back to Lion’s Arch and checked my stats and its the following:
Power: 2,251
Critical Chance: 64%
Running: 20/30/0/0/20
I have a full DPS Set from CoF with 6 Ruby Orb runes in the armor.
My GS uses the Superior Sigil of Strength
As for the accessories, rings and amulet. I only have the Ascended DPS amulet and the rest are just Masterwork DPS accessories with Brilliant Ruby Jewel embedded in all of them.
How do you reach 2440 power?
Would be awesome if you could give me a few pointers
Strifey: I’ll try that rotation out later tonight! By the way are you the one with a Youtube channel?
Edit: Nevermind~ I just realised I was subscribed to you some time ago xD
I just tried it out. Still couldn’t do it fast enough :O
Would it be because my two axes aren’t powerful enough?
Hi Konu. Thanks for your response.
I have still yet to try that combination. From what I remember, I used Signet of Rage, Frenzy, HB and WW and a 1-2 hits before the brazier was destroyed. When I get time later today I’ll try out eviscerate as well. When I used my WW, I don’t think I missed anything.
I asked this question to another person and he said that the person might be using PvE consumables such as grenades or golem in a box. I’m not sure what PvE consumables are but maybe that’s the reason why~
Hi all.
I have a 80 warrior who I mostly use to farm CoF P1 and 10 minutes ago I was in a group where we had a warrior who could clear the Control Room (the part right before the final boss) in literally less than 3 seconds. I’ve seen thieves do it very quick as well but haven’t seen a warrior who could do it in less than 3 seconds.
So I was just wondering if any experienced warrior players would kindly share their experience, tips or rotation skills required to pull it off.
I tried Signet of Rage and Frenzy but still took longer than 3-4 seconds to smash the controller ><
Greatly appreciated
