i was waiting for the mordrem to invade when i had a neat thought: what if typing /age played the year 3 birthday finisher like /rank does for your pvp rank? that would be cool.
but then i thought: what if you could still use the wolf rank finsher for your /rank emote when your a dragon? anet could make each rank its own emote /wolf /dolyak /tiger. that would be sweet.
my final thought before rushing to the forums to air out my pungent genius was: we need more emotes kitten it! we are currently playing a guildwars where in cant type /violin when i see QQ/salt in chat! how can this be!?
thank you for your time.
people who threw a fit over the price seem to be people who dont know the value of a game.
titles like COD spit out a “new” game + dlc every 9 months and people just play it for two weeks then buy another game like assassins creed, and so on. but no, its guildwars 2 who is ruining the industries pricing standards cuz all us whiteknight fanboys want to waste our money on a game that is still fun to us 3 years and thousands of hours later.
look at your steam library and tell me that all your purchases were “worth it for the amount of content” that you got out of it.

you guys do know that you dont have to buy the expansion right now.
no one is twisting your arm.
prepurchase is for people who are too hyped to wait for release.
are you too hyped to wait for release?
no?
then dont prepurchase.
price too high?
wait for it to drop while the rest of us enjoy the content.
i was planning on spending over $100 on a CE. so the pricing doesnt phase me. if it werent for some impulsive steam sale purchases i would already have ultimate.
i play the kitten out of this game. more than happy to pony up for a massive chunk of new stuff to do.
just think. we probably would be getting a free living story update instead but we kept crying out for an expansion. we got what we asked for… right?
i dislike this change. i already hate it when people disengage from a fight. now there is even less i can do to catch them.
so are the crafted precursors account bound or no?
I suggest reading the article.
i did read the article. looking for clarification on this part.
-“This final collection unlocks the recipe to craft the polished final iteration of the precursor. For all of our existing precursors, this is a tradable exotic weapon, but they will all be updated to use new skins that look much like the legendary weapons they’ll one day become.”-
does this mean that the third stage of crafted precs. from the first generation of legendaries will be accound bound? or does it mean that stage 3 crafted precs. from the first gen will be tradable and RNG precs. from first gen are just getting a visual update?
so are the crafted precursors account bound or no?
New precursors from the new legendary weapon sets that comes out when HoT comes out, are nontradeable aka account bound and so are the finished legendary weapon itself. For short, people cant buy this NEW legendary weapons from the TP or some stupid third party website.
i know that new (2nd gen) precs. will be account bound that was clearly stated in the article.

so are the crafted precursors account bound or no?
can someone clarify something for me? is the third “polished” form of the crafted precursor tradable or not? it seemed like the blog post said that both crafted and RNG forms of first gen precursors will still be tradable. i kind of hope that the crafted ones are account bound.
i have a slot for each profession and two extra. one currently holding the name i chose for my future male rev-salad the other one holding a cool kodan name i thought of. so personally i dont care if they give me another char slot.
if they do i can reserve another name in case they add tengu.
if they dont i will only have one slot to farm BL keys.
just so people know you can spend gold on character slots by converting. so you wont be “forced” to shell out real money. even casuals should be able to earn enough gold between now and launch.
i dont think less people playing revs day one is such a bad thing. (havent decided if im going to hop on my rev right away or wait til my main has a solid foothold in the new content.) i think seeing revenants everywhere will make them lose their new car smell faster. however complaining about everyone flocking to new game content is like complainng about the tide coming in.
i missed it! i somehow deleted the email giving me the heads up. the only reason i know that i was invited is there is still a beta character slot on my character select screen. i wanted test it so badly it sucks having to envy so many people who didnt enjoy being included in the development process. please oh please tell me that i get into the next one! thats why i still have the beta char slot right?

awww thats a bummer i thought something random was being hinted at. well thanks for clearing up that it was a bug.
i thought they were kinda x-massy.
glad im not the only one mystified by and somewhat frightened of what may be our new golem overlords.
another weird tidbit that made me start warming my tinfoil hat is something that mattvisual and woodenpotatoes seemed to almost let slip in their podcast visualwood. its probably nothing but when MV & WP talking about future plans for videos. matt mentions something in the following week that they seemingly cant talk about yet. they have been given advance knowledge of content in the past. and each time they worn forbidden to talk about it until it was revealed.
strange little nutcracker redcoats have invaded rata sum, lions arch and divinity’s reach.
and i for one am stumped as to what this could mean…
maybe its a throwback to something in gw1 that i missed?
maybe uzolan is back from the dead and out for revenge?
all i know is its weird and if you want to check it out for your self you should be able to find them in the cities i mentioned near the gates that connect them and lions arch.
the main point of guild halls is to give guilds something else to do. unless your in an active guild with a specific focus my guess is other than chat the only thing your guild bands together for is missions once a week. this will give guilds something to work on for progression.
there are the organizational benefits too. however, i got a royal terrace pass so im good on the hub with amenities.
honestly, i think that unless there is some kind of active play element to guild halls then your enjoyment of them may entirely depend on you and your interaction with your guild. thus it might not be for everyone.
1. the avatar customization part is confusing do you mean that you want the guild hall to show off how my character looks or do you want my achievements and prowess to affect how the guild hall looks and give me more character customization options?
2. add more guild missions involving the hall. add some events to the hall itself. make guild hall progression tied to all aspects of the game in some way or another down to crabtoss and the other activities.
3. this one is a little icky to me. with ability to freely switch between guilds, its not like people who are in a small guild are stuck there. should my bank guild really have its own hall? maybe you could introduce guild alliances and make halls sharable. i just dont like the idea of a giant guild hall with little to no unlocks and little to no reason to go there, or a tiny unupgraded shack with little to no reason to go there. or a hall with most basic amenities from the start with no real reason to upgrade. none of these sounds exciting.

1. Noob Training i would love for there to be pve training dummies/golems like in HotM. and teachable mock events or even actual events. i would like for there to be a variety of objects to interact with like bundles and environment weapons. it would be SO AMAZING if we could spawn specific dungeon bosses or wvw keep lords etc, for practice! hell even a small jumping puzzle would be a good teaching aid.
2. cosmetics it would be great for the LS to have cosmetic effects on the guild hall to show that the guild was active at that time.
i would love to be able to dedicate cool weapon skins as cosmetics. an example being a pair of crystal guardians mounted on the wall in an ‘X’ formation.
it would be great if you could tell a wvw guild’s hall from a pve guilds hall just by looking at them.
npc skins! what if i want to get repairs a grawl, buy weapons from a largos, and pick up some thermocatalytic reagents from a golemite? if my guild is active enough, maybe it should be possible. also critters, friendly ambients, and some red/yellow mobs to kill aimlessly or teach noobs with.
3. services this is the meat and potatoes of any player hub. i imagine acquiring npcs for services in the guild hall by doing a new type of guild mission that would unlock that npc’s service or appearance for your guild hall. i would be fairly disappointing if unlocking npcs was just a matter of merits and influence and would do nothing to promote guild cooperation. the more rare or interesting the service, the harder it should be to acquire or even keep (what if they want a salary?)
buff station. a place in the guild hall for guild banners, sharpening stone stations, and feasts. maybe a cost to extend the duration of those objects for refreshing the associated buffs.
a place to view past cutscenes! maybe like the pool in the HoM GW1 but have it list past cut scenes for view. this would be a great way to teach people lore.
portals! plz dont make me waypoint to/from my guild hall. plz give it a button in the guild menu like heart of the mists has.
a few words i honestly dont think guild halls should be for small guilds. it should be an incentive for small guilds to grow and organize(like guild trove before inflation). it should be a status symbol to large and medium guilds and incentivize those guilds to remain active or be locked out of the guild hall. i would charge merits and influence as a form of rent.
i dont want guild halls to be the new LA, i wouldnt mind if guild halls became the new HotM. i always feel bad for running through heart of the mists while pursuing pve objectives. i feel like im being rude to pvp by using its hub for non pvp stuff. i would like there to still be plenty of reason to hit up LA or the other capitals but feel like i have a sanctuary to pop into when map chat starts getting to me. so plz no mystic forge in the guild hall, no racial armor/weapon npcs and stuff like that. leave us a reason to make the cities feel populated.

namely the version with the vigil engineers using mortars… only theyre not using the motars they just stand there.
many many times ive tried to do these events after tower of nightmares. it was incredibly rare for anyone else to help. just now, two events, two different maps, both bugged with about three other people reviving and protecting the npcs while they just stood idle doing no damage to the toxic offshoot resulting in failures.
i have been seriously craving another novel from the gw2 writers. hell even from outside writers. my first thought for another book would be to put dougal in it. it would be awesome to read about him trying to heard cats through tyrias trap laden, monster infested recesses once again. though having him step up as a fully voice acted secondary character would be cool too. either way i want more story in game and in print.
maybe if/when almorra gets involved, she might find need of a specialist with his skills. the lionguard licking their wounds. who will accompany us through the story dungeons? which force will the majority of this seasons secondary characters hail from? the seraph? maybe the first one or two. but i suspect as the pact gets more involved we will get more interaction with gixx, riel, and almorra and of course their subordinates. wonder what demmi beetlestone has been up to?…
i remember some one saying that they have shied away from the preview pages so that they are more free to iterate on things they plan to implement before release. something like giving details ahead of time would make them seem like liars if they had to change it in the time between announcing content and putting it live. i do not know how much the release pages restricted them in development but im not a dev, so i guess i wouldnt. but i have to agree with you i miss the old preview pages. the atlas is amazingly useless. i do like preview videos but half of them is logos and a buy button. leaves something to be desired.
if you thought that this was going to be more than just the first episode of many updates over the following months, then you were A: overhyped or B: fooling your self. don’t worry i belong to one or both categories myself.
i too expected something “more” even though i tried to keep my expectations low. turns out that this is just episode one, like the pilot episode of your favorite tv show. alot of people, myself included, were expecting this to be like the season premier of the second season of your favorite tv show. where some of the built up tension and excitement from last season’s finale carries over in the aftermath.
i thought that they would learn from flame and frost that gradual build up may not be the way to go with the LW. thus i assumed that they would start off with a bang, follow up with a distraction, then build in intensity from there. looks like they are just setting groundwork for the story and testing out how their new systems work on live. if they put much more than a new map and a reworked LS/PS journal into one update the game would probably be unplayable due to bugs and lag. this is all forgivable after taking a second to shrug off my minor disappointments, which wasn’t hard considering all the fun i’ve been having.
no matter how you look at it, getting a new permanent map(even part of one.) for a LW update is amazing and when you take into account that this map fragment is better than alot of full size maps(cough*southsun*cough) on its own, its even more amazing.

i think its mostly for flavor. the sand is everywhere. its annoying it even finds its way into you bags. however while cleaning the sand out of your bag you find something mildly valuable – or not. i could think of worse ways to bring the story into aspects of gameplay.
ive heard some white mantle talk here and there. though so far nothing official ive seen has pointed their way(unless ive missed something). anyone think we will see them at some point in season two?
My only concern about the Triad is that ArenaNet currently has three badly written and/or portrayed alliances, and those were all just two groups, which should in theory be simpler than a triad. It’s all well and good for ArenaNet to say they’ve upped their game in storytelling (and for what it’s worth I am giving them the benefit of the doubt on that) but I can’t help but be uneasy with the prospect of them starting Season 2 by rehashing what was probably their weakest plot device from Season 1. I want some time to see how and what they’ve improved before I’m asked to be comfortable with yet another alliance, so I hope that the Triad, at least for this release, will be an utterly marginal element, just something to remind us they’re there.
I think the worst thing they could do here is reduce the Triad into chaff for us to shoot at while they get the real plot villains introduced, but that seems more likely than my hopes.
i agree, i dont feel we need yet another alliance. though if they take it in a different enough direction then maybe it wont be as bad. like if we encounter the triad early on, then they mysteriously collapse and part of season 2 is investigating the horrible things that happened to the triad and its leaders and learning from their mistakes. i think that would be much more interesting then “raid this facility, kill one note mid-boss. rinse. repeat.”
i got a couple:
Portable Hole Trap: mimics the attack that the risen high priest of grenth uses which teleports players into the air a short distance. (originally wanted it to drop you through ground to your death but that has been discouraged.)
Alarm Trap: alerts the owner when activated and applies swiftness to nearby allies in a radius around the owner. intended to help small groups ninja some keeps and towers with a little insurance.
Flammable Oil Trap: doubles duration of all burning applied to targets affected by this trap for a period of time.
The Old Switcheroo Trap: boons applied to targets affected by this trap are converted to conditions instead.
Gravity Trap: targets affected by this trap are stripped of endurance and afflicted with weakness for a period of time. (maybe they also cant jump.)
thats about it though i wouldnt mind seeing traps that are more directly beneficial to the user than it as detrimental to the triggering target. i just cant think of any good ones.

not to argue the point, but jormag started corrupting things many years before his awakening, like jora’s brother svanir. and primordus had a pretty good army of destroyers + a champion in gw1. i agree that its likely we wont see mordy minions for a while but we cant rule out that they are there.
one of the conventions of ED is they have their own army of mobs, other than husks there not alot of plants we can just lump in with mordremoth. which leaves me very curious as to what will fill the role of mordremoths minions if anything. maybe we’ll see aloes and ibolgas n stuff. maybe something unexpected like jungle wurms.
honestly i dont want the new environments local threats to be the bad guys in the big reveal for season 2. i want to explore and discover that on my own. if any baddies get screen time it should be new or important ones. but maybe there are no new and important baddies yet…
on second look devourers seems much more obvious, especially the smaller ones. could/would mordy hold sway over such creatures? or maybe its the classic “the local wildlife is riled up cause ‘x’ badguy is doing ‘y’ thing” i just hope they pull something completely unexpected like my initial “what if afflicted?” speculation. maybe blowing up the zaphyrites was unexpected but its hard to get excited about that.
among the images raining zephyrites (not literally) i saw a golem which i seems kind of inquest looking in the path of brahams mace (all healed up and in the labrinthine cliffs) and a multi appendaged horror that looks like something from the factions campaign with the afflicted or maybe from the realm of torment ( i dunno GW1 seems so long ago now)
full of kitten am i? good point do i have? answer in yoda speak you need not.
i always thought that mmorpgs were born of a desire to share the typical experience of an rpg with as many people as possible. a desire to receive recognition from other players for you heroic deeds rather than the npcs. i mean back in the day it was single player rpgs and tabletop rpgs. thats about it.
in the single player ones you get craploads of recognition from the npcs with little to none from players. you are THEE one and only player. you are the unique element the drives the story. the story and your role in it are normally set firmly in place with little to no player influence on outcome, other than progression through combat and exploration.
in tabletop rpgs you get recognition from other players as well as npcs but in a small intimate group setting. in this type of rpg the recognition you receive can be more personal and dynamic. consequences both far reaching trivial. but at the same time everyone at the table wants their time to shine too (even the GM). there are many things now driving the story. the story can now continue without you and events that occur are not the results of your actions and decisions alone. the spot light has been split. now there exists a slight competition for recognition. to make your character stand out in situations that contribute to the major consequences of the story you must take action. the chances of you getting the coup de grace on the final boss is greatly diminished, however if your magic is the only reason the fighter got close enough to finish the boss, you can feel satisfied that a portion of the glory is yours.
when it comes to mmorgs the spotlight is more fragmented. in my experience with tabletop rpgs, i have found that the amount of personal recognition that can be given with decent quality has severe diminishing returns as more players are added. unless one player is favored over others. that is why we typically see linear storylines in mmos with little player choice and consequence, much like their singleplayer counterparts. unlike singleplayer rpgs we need to take part in events as they unfold or be forced out of the timeline. receiving recognition, both from npcs in terms of story and from players in terms of accomplishment requires action. if you dont play the story others will. like tabletop rpgs the plot will advance even of you do nothing. but if you choose to participate there is a certain quality of recognition that you cannot expect. you cannot expect the villain to remember the snarky things you said and the mocking tone in your voice as you had him hauled away in shackles. and you cant expect the king to be absolutely certain that you were the one who personally slapped the shackles on the villain or that you were even present for his downfall. however you can expect fellow players to be in awe of your dps, you can expect noobs to drool over rewards you get from tough enounters.
you can expect the occaisional pat on the back from a prominent npc, but you must expect everyone to get the exact same pat on the back (provided similar levels of combat and exploration are employed). if encounters are self contained and episodic this is fine. but if you want events to be connected to an overarching plot it gets very difficult. an easy way to provide connection between events players participate in without sacrificing too much believability is supporting npcs. in my opinion supporting npcs are a very forgivable crutch when attempting to hit that happy medium of being the hero among heros. acting as witness to events experienced by thousands of faceless people removed from time and mortality. they can even be quite endearing. i guess what im trying to say is you kind of sacrifice some of your importance when you agree to play with others who wish to have fun. and if you feel like Mr. Prominent npc is hogging all of your limelight maybe take solace in the fact that they would never be prominent if there wasn’t players willing to share the glory when it comes time for combat, exploration and story with friends!
another point of interest on the ground level of LC is a corpse of a Mercenary in super close proximity to a terrestrial Skycrystal. the placement seems to imply that this Npc was attempting to transport (possibly steal) the Crystal and died in the process. was it a simple misstep on the Sanctum? or did the Krait kill him? i cant say for sure. maybe there will be a notable Merc presence in S.2? maybe bad things happen to people who touch the wrong Crystals? what do you guys think?
werent they talking about the permanent mystery tonics? the ones that cost 400g – 1000g now? if not then i feel dumb.
No they were talking about those dime a dozen mystery tonics that almost always dropped from opening a BLC. The ones I have in spades and never use.
kk thanks for clarifying, started copping a bummer when i thought they were making it harder to get the endless ones.
i shut up now.
werent they talking about the permanent mystery tonics? the ones that cost 400g – 1000g now? if not then i feel dumb.
looks like im never buying keys again.
theres alot of juicy info in there that could be considered spoilers so be advised.
that said, thanks for bringing attention to this.
i hope some one finds a way onto that red sailed kite ship with the glowing doorway in the trailer/cutscene. the devs really seemed to be pointing at the labyrinthine cliffs as the place where we are supposed to find clues. i personally doubt that the readily accessed npc dialogue is going to be the secret tease that they are taunting us with.
my first bet is the obvious kite ship. i think theres either an interesting npc on it or some kind of visual hint.
my second bet would be something hidden in the cliffs themselves. more likely something visual than an npc.
i kind of expect something like scarlet’s priory hideout but on a much smaller scale. until the guy who always finds stuff finds the stuff i guess ill keep falling to my death while exploring. also checking on the forums and stuff for info.
yeah we’re obviously going to the far shiverpeaks to fight jormag. plain to see.
i personally love the story and the characters. its just that the way Anet tried to convey the story and its characters was misguided for the most part. the recent patches have been much better and have given me hope for s.2.
i played wow off and on for three years and never really cared about the story in that game. the pop culture references were more interesting to me than the lore of that world. i came to guild wars two completely burnt out on wow with no expectations for the story. then i started learning more and it grabbed me.
maybe because gw2 is only my second mmo (non trial) i dont really know how good the story in these types of games can be. many of my friends have said that the main story in SWTOR was the best they have experienced in an mmo. perhaps Anet should slurp a little of their nectar. as long as they learn from what didn’t work i have good expectations for the future.
it certainly can seem dead in open world, but im on a high-pop server so i dont notice as much. maybe the megaserver will help? i dont know.
i just think that within the next few months might be the best time for Anet to wow us with some clever, well timed teases and reveals. show us that “Expansion” style content is on the horizon. maybe some of the people who left in season 1 will regard it as “New” living world rather than “More” living world.
is the game dying? i dont know. one thing is for sure, i could use some more leverage to get my dungeon group back in the game. for quitters with short attention spans they can be stubborn at times.
i can respect that.
when it comes to the feature pack changes im 50% excited, 30% apprehensive, 20% wait and see hope for the best.
my intention with this thread was to get the community to help me poke Anet in an attempt to get more info about the new LW season so i can get a better idea of what playing guildwars2 will be like for the rest of 2014. while at the same time adding to the community buzz.
thought it was worth a shot.
was just curious if anyone besides me plays this game for any reason other than bashing it.
lots of new possibilities on the horizon for a game which for me at least could really use some “juice” after nearly two years of trial and error.
if that doesnt excite you and you still play GW2 (why else would you be here) then i dont get why you are still playing(other than finding things to complain about).
eagerly awaiting feature pack and any news on LW season 2. even if its just me.
Gimme!
Anet if you haven’t started working on an epic trailer for S.2 yet this is me telling you i really really want one.
and if the community is interested then my misleading title should grab their attention.
(HOPES)
with the feature pack more or less spoiled to my intense excitement, my inner lorehound is starving for a meaty preview of the up coming story content. i suspect im not entirely alone on this. it is my opinion that the well timed release of an awesome trailer would whip the community into a frenzy so strong that they drag their quitter friends back to the game kicking and screaming.
i say we should hold out hope, i mean in gw1 they kept the Swedish chef language option in permanently (which was awesome!). so its entirely possible for it to come back with some permanence.
the check box is a great idea… IF they plan on keeping the effect in game. otherwise its complete waste of time, effort, and resources that could be better spent on a minipet slot or something. why add superfluous functionality to something that goes in the shredder at the end of the day?
however i am amazed at how many people made sure to complain about something within this small window of relevance. if they really cared about the game you would think they would pick their battles better. or maybe they just dont want us to have nice things.
you got pranked on in a video game. atleast know one drew genitals on you face while you were sleeping in permanent ink. i dont think a prank in a game is worth making your self look like a wuss by whining about it.
title says it all. i love the bobbleheads and have been overcome by random fits of hilarity (and golden eye flashbacks) cause of them repeatedly. they need to be in the box o’ fun soo badly. even if its just a rare chance.
i hope this isn’t only obvious to me.
thanks Anet, you guys really get me.
gotta say i’m loving this thread about as much as i’m loving the current upswing in loreflow ive been getting. which is alot considering it feels like three times the story content im used to. and i think you are striking a good balance with the amount of cutscenes sprinkled in however i think a super kitten mega high quality one for a particularly juicy update would make the whole community do the wave
as for the writing’s “quality” its always been this good it was just less plentiful and harder to find. thats why i loved the short stories and rejoiced when a new one came out. i understand why Anet shies away from those now. criticisms, image and such. however i don’t remember people threatening to quit over the books so i say MORE BOOKS PLZ! honestly i dont care if the book is called Swimming: A Quaggans Life i will have it purchased weeks before its shipped to me and i can actually read it (my copy of Sea Of Sorrows was obtained in such a fashion)
so props kudos and mental high fives on the story improvements but dont get complacent i bore ez. maybe you should buy time by releasing another novel. Devourer Man: Tyria’s First Super Hero.
wow i think most people missed the point of the Atlas. it isnt supposed to be some mythical fix to the living story that will make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside and allow you to actually have fun and enjoy the playing the game. if that is what you are looking for than the Atlas is not for you.
the Atlas is for people like me who complete 90% of the content in the first week after a release and are excited for the next release. because i’m invested in the story i like to speculate on what happens next. seems like its also meant to be a record of some of the larger plot points that occurred previously and that part needs to be improved… well all the parts need to be improved.
THE ATLAS IS A GLORIFIED PREVIEW PAGE. if you are not there to learn anything you can about the up coming patch then you don’t belong there. if you are there to learn about back story then i would suggest using the wiki, and WoodenPotatoes’ youtube channel. right now all there is for back story on the atlas is neat concept art with short descriptions, disjointed sound bites, and the same old videos we already get elsewhere. the atlas definitely needs better content but since it just came out im giving it time.
sure the atlas looks better than the old preview page and it adds another place for anet to outline their story but is it better than the old preview page? not better enough imo. but im certainly not “disgusted” by it.
finally the preview page is back and its all fancy. i was a little underwhelmed by the bfla teaser vid but this almost made up for it. hidden sounds effects, really? dialogue next time plz. what about hidden videos? one thing that would be cool is blueprints of things like in attack on titan. the priory could have its own sub-section in the atlas (maybe one for each of the orders) where they share some historical perspective with excerpts from ancient texts or a ‘wet behind the ears’ novice’s panicked field report. maybe even steward Gixx’s personal take on how things are unfolding. and why not some more browser mini games like the rytlok’s critter rampage?
like it was said in a previous post this atlas thingy has potential. enough potential to keep me clicking on it for at least the next handful of tuesdays. as long as i’m getting better content than the old preview page i will find the map scrolling less cumbersome.
all in all i would say that it all looks great visually, and the hidden coords are a nice touch but it needs to keep improving to make up for the simple efficiency of the old preview page.

Y'know what you can do with your LA(UA!) map?
in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath
Posted by: kny.3789
…Turn it into a PvP map!
I’ve been playing the patch and having kitten loads of fun. suddenly i noticed how some of the destruction in LA conveniently formed ramps and made some places easier to access. i don’t know how the two are related but while pondering my observations i suddenly had the urge to kill my fellow players. maybe I’m crazy but the obstacles, terrain and atmosphere seemed to scream 5v5 to me. i don’t know what kind of mechanic the map would feature (aetherblade airstrikes maybe) but i would sure love a chance to play and find out.
i know the the knee jerk reaction to re-using an instance is fractals. However if I’m not _MIST_taken (pun) PvP also takes place in the mists so it should work out lore-wise. Besides scarlet’s handiwork gets enough screen time in fractals already.
below is an image of the general area to which i am referring. just a little more verticality and some balancing for team equality (not to mention some objectives of some sort to fight over… or not. deathmatch!) and it will be perfect!
any thoughts? stupid idea? not stupid enough? discuss.
primordus is awake. he was the first elder dragon to fully awaken. and he has been in the depths of tyria ever since which means that the depths of tryia are too big and or the dwarves and remaining asura and who knows what else are resisting too much for him to conquer it by now.
if scarlet is after primordus for one reason or another the only thing she is going to accomplish with those drills is opening up a new depths of tyria map for us. and it wont be till after scarlet that we get the dragon focused content.
i would love to go into the depths of tyria. but i kinda hope its the rise of mordremoth that she is after since the awakening of an elder dragon would be a cool thing to experience in game and all the others are already awake.
