Gendarran Fields Inaccessible POI

In gendarran fields there is a new point of interest which is inaccessible. It is likely where the new jumping puzzle will be on the first of july.

However, if you’re trying to get map completion you’ll be unable to until then.

Attached is a screenshot of the new point of interest. When you walk towards it it teleports you away.

The thing I miss most if big ole’ bomb . No more leading a mini zerg to a precipice to fight you – likely dying there from burst, but watching your bomb toss a bunch of them off the cliff.

The New Meta for WvW

Meta for what – WvW, open world pve, or dungeons? (giver’s aren’t in spvp)

Condition duration isn’t something I’d want to stack for any PvE encounter as the mobs generally die too quickly to take advantage of the increased duration – so while condition duration stacking may potentially have done more damage if a condition persists its entire duration – it may very well do less damage for the lifespan of the mob than a condition damage focused build because the mob died before the extra dmg from duration could be dealt.

For bosses, conditions usually will be meeting the condition stack so speccing duration is usually lost damage. It would only be beneficial for conditions the group couldn’t stack consistently like confusion.

For WvW this seems like it would be a fun option. Ideally I’d like to look at the math for whether 10% condition duration from the giver’s weapons is worth more than the 90 condition damage from a one handed weapon for each of the engineer skills i frequently use. I would think it would most beneficial to conditions like burning, chill and confusion. I’ve also read on the forums there’s a 100% condition duration cap – though I’ve never tested it nor seen it tested.

Which ascended amulet should i get?

I prefer condi or hybrid builds on my engi, and after playing around for quite a while in gw2buildcraft I figured out my ideal stat setup.

Has a rabid amulet so i’ll likely be getting that.

However – I’m not going to spend my laurels until i see the upcoming changes to engineer.

Like many have said – this isn’t starcraft 2 where you need to practice the mechanics for a significant amount of time before you’re really competitive. Each class is fairly easy to pick up, within a couple hours I had pretty much fully figured out each class I tried in sPvP (all of them) as far as the basics go.

Ascended Items and Transmutation?

I’ve been wondering if you transmute ascended items, taking the skin from the item and the stats from an exotic, will the item still upgrade in the future as ascended items are supposed to do?

For example, If i want the staff “The Crossing” but I want condition, precision, toughness stats on it instead so I transmute it to get the exotic stats, will it upgrade?

If not, then I’ll likely just skip it entirely for now.

I would expect the price to drop in the coming weeks now that it’s widely known where it drops from, and it’s drop rate isn’t extremely low.

I’ll probably wait a month and get it for ~20 gold or less I would think.

Would this be a significant nerf because starting the swap cooldown in DS is advantageous, and you couldn’t use on swap sigils in DS?

Could you help explain how huge a nerf this is, I recognize it’s worse than before and reduces the skill cap, but I’m not sure how it’s a huge nerf.

edit – I can confirm as well that while in Death Shroud I can’t swap weaponsets. It is annoying.

At least to me, it would make sense on a necro as they seem to have the biggest in-combat mobility issues.

I think engineers with a portal would be too powerful – they’re already extremely powerful in tPvP with some of the highest burst potential. If they could just jump out of a portal, magnet you and insta-gib with 2 grenade barrages, that would be a bit much – in my opinion.

Spectral Walk

On use 1 – set point at which you’ll teleport back to if you use skill a second time within 8 seconds. Gain swiftness 30s.

On use 2 – teleport back to location at which skill was initially used if within 8 second window (still spectral trail appearing when you move).

Use this to negate falling damage, as the teleport resets your velocity to zero.

Once you’re near the ground double tap spectral walk to reset your velocity to 0 and take no falling damage (or at least not die).

The reality is there is absolutely no way to measure DPS or damage in this game.

Couldn’t you just kill dummies, look at combat log for direct dmg – then avg bleed count + poison/burn uptime/total time, and just note the vulnerability stacks you give to take into account the total party dps increase

Attack dummies for a minute with each class in full dps gear (one with food one without, as food could be altered in future patches) to get overall dps rather than just burst.

Could then give you average DPS for each spec in ideal conditions

4 elixer with p/p conditions can work, but in my opinion it isn’t optimal.

Using an engineer without any kits is choosing to reject your main class profession. It’s almost like doing a signet warrior in concept – it’s easier, and it can work. (it’s not as bad as a signet warrior though)

I chose asura as well.

Pain inverter and radiation field are great for some builds. And I like being as small as I can be in most games

and who cares, glory means nothing.

I want to stop playing hotjoins but it seems a minimum rank is a prerequisite for many PUG groups for tournies. So I have to grind the boring hotjoins for glory until I get a rank that people are willing to accept.

I think rank gain speed is fine.

Only problem i have is that since I didn’t start pvp till later, I feel like I have to grind hotjoins to get my rank up (which I don’t find that fun honestly) before a team or pug will consider taking me for tournaments.

Once people get higher rank and want higher rank teamates, anyone either new to the game or new to gw2 pvp will have to grind hotjoins for 3 months before anyone PUGs with them.

The community will get smaller and smaller as people leave and anyone new isn’t considered due to low rank.
