Nobody cares about melee. Not even warriors.

It’s sad.

Do not remove my might. Just make might improve melee attacks. Melee attacks that do not have a cc effect, or a defensive effect attached to it.

It is what it is. If you want to divide the two…..premades and pugs, then do that.

Create bracket tournaments ANET. Allow all premades in them. Do it weekly/monthly. Script it, get it done.

Let anyone sign up their 5 team group. Do a big 1 day battle……..basically a cutoff. Those who are left bracket them against other teams. No sympathy for the can’t make it, or the don’t have time for it players. Be ready, or be gone.

Please try it, you’ll bring in real gamers, and make an esport out of the competitive part of this game.

Create a real weekly/monthly bracket contest, and reward the top groups with gems until it gets bigger.

Hell, I’ll watch every tourney so long as it’s viewable.

Hey, I get that you’re upset. Things don’t always go our way, but let’s take a breath and go over the issues.

You were never in a match with anyone rank 10, at least not recently. The lowest rank you’ve been paired with is rank 33. That rank 33 also has a pretty decent record, with an MMR that is above average.

The new dailies can make it hard to prevent multiple of the same profession. The new system was never designed to outright forbid it, only to work against it happening.

Just because your queue time is <2 minutes doesn’t mean everyone else’s is. A lot of pre-mades have to wait closer to 6-8 minutes for a match, sometimes longer. I’ve had a lot of top tier players come to me about the issue as well. They don’t like easy victories. :/

As for why teams can do so poorly, sometimes the styles and attitudes of players don’t always mesh. Sometimes you’re going against people who are well suited to counter your style. Sometimes you just get out played.

It sucks, but it happens. I get that it isn’t fun, and I’m working on improving things even more.

If you run into a particularly bad match, PM me the date, time, and which arena it was in and I’ll take a look.

Hell I still can’t figure out why the autojoin lootbox appears during ranked/unranked matches……and then players just end up leaving after the autojoin timer…..times out.

Maybe I need to rant like the OP so it gets at least enough attention to be entertainingly view-able for a weeks worth of jacking around time at work.

Not sure if this is intentional or not. Did a unranked match que. 5v5 team, about 1minute in the fight the little loot box to change teams came up, and when it expired 4 players left, 2 from both sides.

Enough of the hit or miss return to battle time. Is it 20s……is it 2s? This can have wide implications during a battle.

Just make return to battle time, a set amount.

This will take a little more randomness out of the game.

I get where you’re coming from; add more revenue and we will get more content but it won’t work that way unfortunately.

Anet’s business model has always been a one time purchase. You can leave for a month, a year or even 10 (ok, exaggeration) and still come back and enjoy GW2. Adding a subscription fee will scare consumers (and even investers).

Using your McDonald’s metaphor (which I think is a little off), it’s like adding a fee to put cheese on a cheeseburger to get better quality cheese. I can make a safe bet that most people will just skip the cheese.

While I think you have some valid points, I still will stand by my original thoughts. More money spent for pvp will directly influence pvp content.

The game is free to play. You buy it, and play free.

PvE is why gems are bought. It’s why karma, and xp gains, luck, skins, convenience (bank, bltc, barber, etc), legendary, ascended, money for gold, the list could go on and on and on and on are specifically purchased. PvE.

PvP players don’t have to contribute anything. Nothing…..zip, squat……zilch.

Why does pve gets all the attention?? Why? Why again?

Why does pvp not get nearly as much attention? Why? why? again?

It’s simply math. Do it, or try justifying it i suppose.

Hell make it just 2 dollars a month. For the cost of the game when I bought it, that would be over 2 years of playtime. Imagine if all the pvp community would just pay a fraction of 1 hour worth of work for a game they’ve enjoyed the past couple years. You could literally be making this game a real esport pvp game in a very short order of time.

PvE is the backbone that doesn’t care about opinions. It just is. Those are the people that spend money on gems for new outfits, gold, extra char slot, etc, etc. Please, just give a shout out to all those individuals nobody knows, that make a difference!

The most influential voice is the one that speaks for itself. Devs……..in any game, do not make your world for free. Gas attendants don’t pump your gas for free. McDonalds doesn’t make double cheeseburgers for free. Anet doesn’t continue to pump out constant updates, and very down to earth forum participation for free.

Would you work for free? If you like the game, and the community, hell, I think it’s worth it. It’s a very cheap alternative to other “forms” of entertainment that are widely, and costly available.

Maybe one day you’ll be in the workforce…..hell working for a company that develops games.

So you essentially open them, to trash them, break down, salvage, or deposit collectibles?

I stopped collecting garbage when they removed all my skins on the last big update. I had to buy a fricken warhorn from the vendor lol.

Just give players the option to decline acquiring them.

I don’t want anymore loot-boxes shimmering away on the bottom of my screen anymore. All I want is the option to get them off my kitten UI for good. I’m not opening loot-boxes. Stop sending them to me!

Simple Code to Detect AFK Right?

Just an idea here….

For hotjoin

At the start of each new map, allow 1 minute of “flex” time. This “flex” time allotted will allow a player to either join, or automatically be moved into spectate. Hopefully there is a code that understands spectate….hopefully!

Introduce a code that would show the status of a map (How many minutes into the game). So, if the map just switched, it’ll show >0. If it’s 5 minutes in >5, etc. etc.

Add a code that shows spectate players, and active players.

*Standard starts as they already are.

*Once you are in the map waiting for the rest to que up……
-One more gump to display if you are ready.
-Once everyone clicks ready, the final 10s countdown will begin.


If you drop anytime during/after the 10s countdown*****

1. You will be required to que up (by yourself) for your next tpvp or soloq game (depending on which one you dropped from) with the same character. Basically, you have to play a random game. You cannot “preform” a team.

2. If you drop again, you will recieve 2 losses on your record based entirely on the ranking system (the players you were matched against ; ), but will be free to participate however you wish to from there on.

3. Rinse and repeat.

4. No daily/monthly/etc. progress will be granted until you perform the requirements.

PLEASE do something about this. It literally, is probably, the most irritating thing about pvp, and it has nothing! to do with pvp participation. So sick and tired of micro managing all these fricking lootboxes.

Clean it up if you can.

What happened to all the 8v8 hotjoins?

All I ever see are 5v5 hotjoins now. Half of them have 12-18 out of 20 players, yet when you join them, it’s like a 4 on 3 if you’re lucky. That or its full, and the map is almost over, and when you start the next map it’s like everyone has logged.

Do 8v8 servers no longer exist? Do they cost more money? Whats the deal? Where did all the 8v8 servers go!!

I ask this mainly because imo 5v5 has been a total hotjoin failure.

Half of the apparently “populated” servers are nearly never filled with 5v5 teams to begin with. Almost all of them I join have at least 12/20 population…which is frustrating when you join it, only to find out there’s only 4-6 people actually playing.

I just don’t understand what happend to all the 8v8 servers? Before this big update, they were everywhere, and it was fairly easy to join a server that supported a decent population to play against and have fun.

The best thing I liked about 8v8 was that people would actually ohh….KEEP PLAYING for more than a couple rounds.

You get a good 5v5 game, next map….you got 3v2, and whatever was golden has become a heavy kitten . I know I log. There is no competition in a 3v2 when you have 3 cap points…..and the fights are pretty boring because of that.

In in 8v8 map. You might lose 3 players or so, and it turns into a 7v6…………Hell 7v6 works still!! I’ll take it anyday over a 3v2. The odds are better, and there is going to be more action, I’m happy happy

I just don’t know maybe. Maybe there is something in the way. All I want to know is why do I keep joining 5v5 servers that show ~15/20 players when there are only (7-8) playing?! I’m tired of voodoo mathematics.

Maybe refine the hotjoin search so we can sort by active players (players that are actually participating in matches)? That way there isn’t 10 afk players squatting in each server specifically because they do voodoo math.

I’d rather see some 8v8s back, at least I know I can play on those servers for more than a couple matches before I have to find another craphole disappointment of a server.

Just logged in to the new update. Apparently I unlocked hundreds of armor/weapons. Where’s my warhorns? I have zero, I love it, and it’s gone. I have to buy one from a vendor now in order to use it?

2 Fixes that will balance warriors

I’m not in the business of making precise quantifications……or whatnot, on how changes needs to be implemented……but I think pointing out the obvious should be fair enough.

1. Longbow: Huge potential when built accordingly. Full mobility/flexibility…. that aspect needs to be removed entirely. You launch an arrow, you autta be stationary.

No more fire spam: Please change the burst skill effect.

Longbow has been a crutch for way too long now. Warriors shouldn’t even have a strong ranged skillset imo. We are melee strong!

2. Stability access needs to be seriously looked at. There are entire builds that focus around CC from bow/hammer, and stability from utility slots.

The two points I ‘thoroughly’ reviewed…imo could honestly be solved by only making changes to the longbow.

I don’t have a/an detailed, oriented explanation…that goes on for a half page….explaining 30 odd something changes on top of 500 posts that nobody in there right mind would want to go through…….That’s just a waste of time imo.

All I have are simple, small…….yet relative thoughts on how to balance the big…fat…elephant.

The worse part…….I’ve been playing the fat elephant for over a year now……….and I can’t even frequent these forums anymore without seeing an OP warrior thread.

I was active during last year’s Halloween event(s), and it was really fun

I remember all that halloween candy corn. Mmm, very tasty.

Came back this year and much to my surprise…… the candy corn is most definitely stale! In fact, its last years leftover candy corn!

I ate that same candy last year eh……..even during xmas when the gw2 community had to contain the toy crisis of 2012!

It was horrific enough!

How do rangers kill warriors?

Dodged march is a 3s heal on a 10s cd (30% up time). Only procs on immobilize, chill, and cripple, which needless to say….still procs a lot but the benefit is only up 30% of the time at highest efficiency. Adrenal health is very determinate to how long you hold on to your adrenaline…..which isn’t long for most Wars. It’s just too hard to actually put an actual hps figure that would relate to the real scheme i.e. in combat with adrenal. The theoretical 819hps War is more realistically running probably ~550hps

The banner build I have on War running 1443 healing power:

464hps on signet w/tactics banner up
310hps on tactics banner

774hps + adrenal health.

It’s possible to get 1k hps on War s/tpvp in small bursts, but you have to be running full healing power builds and not use any adrenaline, and pick your banner up to #2. How many Wars have you seen that run full healing power, and never use adrenaline?

yeah but the duration got buffed 1 whole second..

i remember the time s/d got a nerf cause they could dazechain some. thats nearly the same story.

1 second is not the reason for the meta. It’s just a by-standard benefit… not really what makes CC war builds viable now. Sure a lot can happen in 1 s, but when your stunned for 5+s you’re probably dead regardless.

Who uses arcing slice? Damage output is not good, and fury is easy to attain on the warrior. If you move it to main bar it’ll get used more, but it will definitely need some work. The animation takes too long, and it misses a lot. Not viable for pvp, or pve.

The animation is the biggest downfall. It’ll never be feasible regardless of how it’s changed until it gets ironed out. If it ever does, I think it’d be interesting if arcing slice did something other than give adrenaline. Maybe give it some retaliation or have it apply some confusion.

Cleansing Ire, Building Momentum + one hit burst skill = profit. Pve wise as well, saved me alot during lupis, shaman.

i do admit that the damage isn’t that great, but the fury sure is good as an additional effect, fury is not that easy to attain by warrior tbh, for 18 seconds we dont have fury, more when you dont have signet cd-20%, only if you run fgj sor build..which probably no one uses in tpvp. and the additional fury is great to fill that gap since now most of the pvp builds dont need to sit on adrenaline.

as i said, fury is an ADDITIONAL EFFECT, i never said that we don’t have good fury in PvE, i did say TPVP when i was talking that part, if you clearly didn’t see it.

So there is one scenario to describe the means of this thread? A necro needs lf to be able to survive a full stealth group? Do you really think you would survive if you had some lf?

Sorry, but this makes no sense. It’s counter play, and unfortunately stealth is very powerful. Even if you had lf, you would still go down, it won’t change anything…..only make necro’s even more powerful than they already are.

Skyhammer is a cool map I’ll give it that, but I’m not sure if the pvp environment is ready for it….considering how drastic and dynamically inconsistent it is compared to the other maps.

Maybe I’m wrong, who knows. The whole concept of the map just seem so out of left field that I’m still having a hard time wrapping my head around how skyhammer actually made it to production.

I’m not entirely sure what to expect anymore lol. Should I expect my warrior to be wielding a staff very soon? Should I start figuring out what heavy armor set will look good on my necro?

I just don’t know anymore honestly. First time I played skyhammer…….I wish I was making it up, but I’m not…..I literally thought I was playing a different game.

Structured PvP Build****

Been having fun with this build lately.

Honestly it’s a good, solid, all-around build especially if you run solo a lot, as I do. It’s not a great at anything build, but moreso a “jack of all trades” build imo.

A combination of Condition, Fear, and Bunker.

Spite 10 – Trait 5, gain retalition for 3s when entering ds.
Curses 10- Trait 6, Fear deals damage, and it deals and additional 50 damage if the target has another condition on them
Death Magic 20- 2, Increases area of marks, and marks become unblockable. 5 staff skills recharge 20
faster.
Soul Reaping 30- 2, life force drains 25% slower. 10, marks generate 3% lifeforce when triggered, 11, gain stability for 3s when entering ds.

Staff – Sigil, Hydromancy
Scepter/Dagger Sigil (Scepter) Agony, (Dagger) Geomancy

Runes- Undead (6)

Amulet- Carrion

Skills:

Healing: Consume Conditions
Utility 1: Plague Signet
Utility 2: Signet of the Locust
Utility 3: Corrupt Boon
Elite: Flesh Golem

Overall:

Solid build. Very good at bunkering down. 3sec relatiation/stability when entering DS really makes a big difference to prevent lockdown.

Good condition transfer with plague signet, and putrid mark, and dagger#4.

Fears deal damage, so #5 staff is a viable damage skill as well as cc, and if you combine it right with corrupt boon, staff#4, staff#5, DS #3, you can really chain fear and just about cc nuke a player out of any point.

Corrupt Boon is almost a must have. Works very good when someone tries to boon up. And, considering how common I see players with a full Lyssa rune set, it really puts the hurt on them when they use their elite.

Signet of Locust is very nice mainly for a little extra mobility. Necro class is terrible in that aspect, any extra run speed you can scrap up can really make a difference.

Flesh Golem is just better if you plan to solo. Charge is an extremely strong skill, especially when the the opposing team is packed up in a zerg ball….you can knockback everything in it’s path. Plus the golem deals a decent amount of dps.

Where does it show % ? All I see is just the rank 925 so I’m not sure what % that would be. Just started tpvp solo queueing up recently so I only have 17 games played so far.

Been mixed results for me. They’ve usually been fairly competitive matches, but there were a couple face rolls where you could tell the other team was premade.

I’ve fought a lot of theifs on the necro, and while some have been ridiculous, most generally don’t stick around long enough to play out a result.

Most necro’s will hold out against a theif and force them to squat in stealth, reset, wait for backup, or strike after they healed up.

I don’t want to say i’ve seen that happen a thousand times…..I’d rather see them commit 100%.

Only thing I don’ t like about downed state is when a pet absorbs your cc because it’s position is in front of the player about to finish you off…

That and being blinded

5s seems like an awfully long time to not react at all. Maybe you checked your phone or something? Even 3s is plenty of time to react. I’ll give the first burst, maybe 1s at tops, but after that, on a necro……almost all the rest of that is avoidable with a couple dodges and some marks.

Unless you had zero endurance and every possible skill on cd, along with the frozen keyboard bug…..I can’t imagine this happening to a necro.

Sorry, DID you actually read my post at all? And what stack are we talking about here?Boons or all the Ability they have which I listed?

1vs1, you can not kill a Good Eles because we are BUNKER,most of us. If you can kill a Bunker in 1vs1 Duel, Congratulation, you are better than most people playing Guild War 2 here,or should I say Hail to the King. Let ask a friend of yours play Berserk Eles (who he is experience with Eles) and play 30/30/0/10/0 and then, let me know.

If you have no further constructive idea to contribute rather than that close-mind of your or whatever, please leave as I said in the first post.

I’m sorry just saw the post here. What am I missing? You outta be thankful ele’s actually have a legitimate build that’s incredibly versatile.

I could wallow all day about how war’s would give there (insert important tangible) to have that kind of luxury.

Yet…..maybe I find it more entertaining to listen to how hard life is from an elemenalist perspective? And, from time…..share my own thoughts.

Gotta agree with Mighty here.

Hell i play necro….one of my mains. It’s early in the morning, and I laughed my kitten off. Comparing a necro to an ele…….lol.

No boon stripping fantasy, condition spreading wonderland, fairy tale reality, or necroworld of Oz could keep up with an ele’s boon generation and condition removal.
