Just use the good sense and get out from behind the freakin wall.
So the more you level up the more weak you get? Until you became able to get better equipment(which will become each time more difficult to get) and return to your “normal”. What is the point on this? =/ It makes me fell bad for leveling up…
I was using level 14~16 gear and level 20 weapon(almost all equips with +power). He was using level 3x gear(not sure about bonuses).
(Edited post with this)
Today I was playing WvW with my friend, I was using a Lv23 Thief while he was using his Lv52 Thief. After some time we realize I was causing a lot more damage then he was. We both were using Dagger/Dagger & Short Bow. Testing the damage against a Moa we notice I was causing 380~ damage and 640~ when crit; and he was causing 240~ damage and 420~ on critical.
But, why?? We compared our attributes and I had more HP, more Power and more Armor then him, while the only attribute he had more then me was his critical chance. (which does not compensate, because my non-critical attack is almost equivalent to his critical attack)
If his level is greater, his equipments are better and he has more unlocked traits(invested in the same trait lines), why I am stronger then him? This makes nosense to me!
EDIT: I was using level 14~16 gear and level 20 weapon(almost all equips with +power). He was using level 3x gear(not sure about bonuses).

Signed of Shadows speed bonus not working in combat, bug or intended?
in Thief

Passive: Grants a 25% increase in movement speed.
It says nothing about “only outside combat”, so I think it’s a bug.
I agree that sword should have a skill that causes bleed, all other weapons of the thief have good ways to cause bleeding
What is wrong with not every weapon following the same scheme? Weapon choice is the major diversifying attribute, it is good to be different.
All the weapons of the thief that causes bleeding, do it in very different ways. But yeah, you have a point; I agree.
That’s not Guild wars PVP
Maybe because THIS IS NOT “Guild Wars”?!!!! This is “Guild Wars 2”, which is a complete different game. The only thing they have in common is developers and the “lore/universe”. Maybe same public, but stills a different game.
I agree that sword should have a skill that causes bleed, all other weapons of the thief have good ways to cause bleeding(Death Blossom: 3 stacks for 11s, Detonate Cluster: 3~9 stacks for 4.25s and Sneak Attack: 5 stacks for 4.25s).
However, falking on #1 skill chain would not work very well. Maybe a replacement for the Stab. (which is almost useless)
The output damage of the Warrior is a lot greater than the Engineer. I think it’s a little rabid to call them OP or UP but the warrior is one of the best classes when talking of DPS, while the engineer stands for one of the worst…
The lag/latency delay does not help a lot, but if you manage to dodge in right timing it will take effect(as you probably noticied with other mobs). But I also get some problems to dodge AoE attacks. I think some are inevitable(unless you get away from it in time).
Kessex Hills, two maps bellow Divinity’s Reach, in the lake on the middle of the map, there’s some clams. But also kraits, so be take you spear/harpoon/trident with you. =)
The only thing I hate about this is that I haven’t found any “Hood” hat so far >:(
I don’t really think it’s overpowered. Just tumble away or stun him.
Yeah, agreed; it’s easy do deal with this. And the thief is a class meant to kill fast.
If you built a full-power build with no overal defense and no CC, you have no rights to protest.
I agree, pets helps me alot, but sometimes I don’t like when I stow them and suddenly they come back again without me asking for it. Like “Hey! I’m your master and I’m ordering you to stay there!”…
Infiltrator’s Arrow is slow to use to run away. Try Shadowstep(utility). The onlt thing I use Infiltrator’s for is to blind enemies.
The only thing I really hate about thief’s downed state is skill #1 hits many targets. You are dying! The last thing you want is to call attention from mobs and it’s exactly what skill #1 does. Many times I got downed and when trying to kill a single foe to rally, the thief accidentally hits neutral foes that comes to kill me. It’s painful!
One thing ive noticed, pure dmg will easilly double your effective DPS, while pure toughness will not make you take half dmg, in fact i was disappointed as to mow much dmg it mitigated.
I noticed it too and I was disappointed too. =/
I find Shadow Embrace(Shadow Arts’ major trait IV) funny. It removes one condition every 3 seconds while in stealth.
I’m running a thief. It’s level 15 now, so I need some advice…
What’s the utility of stealth if you can’t be stealthy? Stealth for 3 seconds does not allow you to infiltrate enemies and strike a single “key class” like many people are used to expect from other games(ragnarok, wow, tf2). The only utility of 3 seconds stealth I found is to avoid attention in PvE(yeah, only in PvE, because in PvP, players still can target and attack you, hope this is a bug) and for stealth skill #1.
My question is: This is it? Is this the only thing that stealth is worth for?
As long as I know, in short, it’s like:
Toughness makes you take less damage. Taking less damage values your healing, because you will take less damage to heal; taking less damage and healing more will make your drop drop slower in percentage. But toughness does not increases your HP, you will have less HP and then die easy if have no healing.
Vitality increases your HP, making you last longer when you have no healing. But healing would not take the same effect as if you have toughness, because you will take more damage(then, obviously, you need more healing).
I recommend toughness for longterm battles, you will take less damage and will be more easy to heal and stay alive. It’s more “tank like”. Stable. And even better with you have much healing attribute.
Vitality is good for shortterm fights, you will last longer then you have more time to kill your foe until you die.
And remember CC also helps when tanking. You can survive a little more with a HP build if you can always knokdown your enemy to avoid taking damage. As well as you can also tank even more with a toughness build + healing + CC.
I would like to have duel added too. But as people said, with option to “auto-deny”. Duels are very very funny with friends, but I don’t like to be spammed with random duel requests for people I don’t know and have no reason to fight me.
If you killed a giant frost wurm, you are done and playing with other players.
I just reached level 30 so I was trying to get to the first dungeon Ascalonian Catacombs with a friend.
The problem is, sometimes we press to start the dungeon but nothing happens. After relogging a few times we managed to enter the dungeon, but we started in different instances; each one alone, even we being in the same party.
I searched the forum and found topics of people who have already played the dungeon, so I suppose this is not normal(it’s not broken/bugged for everyone).
Any information about this problem? Any tip to get in together with the party? Are we forgeting to do something?
No, there’s a time.
In the first betas thief’s initialive regeneration were 1 initiative/second; but it is slower now. Someone know how fast it is now?
But the horn does not only give swiftness, but might and fury as well. Also, Hunter’s Call(horn’s 4th skill) causes half damage of Rapid Fire(longbow’s 2nd skill) and 2/3 damage of Whirling Defense(axe’s 5th skill) while being ranged; i think it’s not that bad at all.
