These are two very valid points and your first point is the #1 thing I want fixed due to how easy it would be to fix and how overdue it is.
I’m going to keep repeating this until it gets fixed but: during the beta weekend events before HoT was released, rev sword mainhand’s auto chain #3 was a projectile. Players complained about it and devs responded then fixed it to no longer be a projectile in 1 week. The fact that our sword auto hasn’t also been fixed is completely unacceptable. ANET: either give it a triple 100% projectile finisher, if you really intended it to be a projectile, or change it to a non projectile attack. An auto attack with a melee weapon should never be reflectable in any case. Ever.
You are right on rev’s sword but you have to understand that this class is born and built around HoT selling copies, so it had to be so strong and held by the hand of devs. That’s why for example we have a silly and totally reflectable true shot meanwhile there is a wild Unrelenting Assault like OP said.

your call m8, anet gave you the choice of 25% movespeed or 175 power. there is also http://battle.net if you want everything instantly and now.
Tell that to a burn guard losing 60% burn duration.
To be honest i find it a nice trade off.
Overall there is just too much guardian hate and actually i don’t want a +25% speed. With it devs would probably nerf something else so no ty.
That’s why, besides all the problems, i find guard quite balanced if compared to other profession cos you need to choose between damage/whatever and speed. Something that should even exist for other classes imo.

It’s strong but its not OP. Especially the fact that you are rooted in place. If it gets nerfed, then atleast unroot it.
a 0.75 root is nothing when the target is CC;ed or immobilsed and for that amount of damage a 0.75 root is enough and won’t be removed.
with all the different type of Abilities DH can have , from my Balancing experience of playing guild wars for 11years since gw1 beta .
this Trueshot ether needs Piercing removed or a Damage reduction (if you don’t except ether ) the cooldown needs to increase 7-10k with Piercing should not be on a 5second cooldown even with a root 0.75seconds is not long at all when used in Co-op with a immobiise from a team mate or a different source of CC.

From your balancing experience when the target is CCed or immobilized could and should use a stunbreak or a condi clean. This game is plenty of hard and soft cc, plus blocks and dodges and all of them are not a guardian’s prerogative. Overall since it roots the guardian you can even outplay smartly with the los. Sincerly from a wvw player (mediguard/medi-dragon hunter), where traps are near to be dumb and useless and your silly crusade will bring nerfs even there.
Don’t be so sour there are tons of op elites. You can’t blame people for playing what is strong. It’s up to A-net to balance things. The pvp season starts December 1 I guarantee you there will be lots of changes to DH and the other elites to bring them more in line with the old builds before that happens.
Traps can be even toned down for what i care, i’m more worried about other “fixes” since anet is gentle like a lawnmower when it comes to balance. And you know with this huehuehuekids’ crusade on… sigh..

I’m tired of stupid thieves talking crap in say chat that I only killed them because I’m using OP DH. And it definately isn’t the thousands of hours I have on guardian, and it’s not the fact a stupid thief decided to 1v1 a guardian.
So you killed them because you’re using guardian* and not DH? So it’s just Guardian OP to thieves? (I’m not saying this, but that’s what you last sentence kind of implies)
There is a reason metabattle has dps guardian as a counter to thief.
So what I was implying with the last part, is thieves are foolish for fighting a dps guardian including a DH whether or not a single trap was used. And me being a very experienced guardian, I was going to win regardless of what dps guardian build I ran.
So thieves need to stop crying about DH’s and choose their fights more wisely. DPS guardian has always owned thieves even if dps guardian was out of meta for a while and considered weak.

66 pages later i tried to do some """serious""" pve for spec. As i said in another post im a wvw-only player and again, as i said before, i don’t like pve. Sure map is great, awesome design etc etc but at this point is just a kick in the balls. I just wanna come back home from work and play wvw with elite spec. Nothing else. That’s what i paied for this expansion.
Not grind in pve, not pvd in eotm with ktrains.
If i have to do things slowy in wvw maps with old specs and “enjoy” something months later i could have not buy the game since new borders are for everybody.

As a wvw player only i paied the game for playing with elite spec in wvw not for any kind of grind. I already have a job. If people like pve, the grind, jps or whatever you want is fine for me just don’t force the others to do things they don’t want to.
And before someone pops out telling me “well if you play pve maybe you start to like it!” no. Already tried and i really hate it. Wasting the few time i have in pve maps makes me hating it even more.
Levelling specs in wvw is kinda the same. It’s not really an option. I wanna enjoy HoT with hot things not waste my time.
personally i find lb/gs power ranger to be the easiest to counter and the worst build for team play.
i haven’t been playing a long time, but from what ive read and seen, ranger melee is a very untapped build by the community. its a much higher skill cap than ranger bow skill/builds. so its no surprise. but a ranger that knows how to fight with melee is very very difficult.
True. But melee is untapped just becouse eveyone can troll with lb. At least in wvw a lot of people picked up ranger class just for pewpew from range and even if people try to defend it minding an hypotetical 1v1 is pure cancer. And melee or condi bunker could even be hard to fights or get an higher skill cap to play with, but since you can spam 1..
IMO thief’s traps might work but not in the same way ranger’s do (i’m not sure about grammar etc

The issue doesn’t rely in revealed as it does the SA line having too many useful effects that the entire class lacks elsewhere, such as any form of in-combat stat defense and most notably, condition cleansing.
If more condition cleansing was added to the class, SA would be a very niche trait line, and revealed would be a hard counter to stealth-based builds. That’s totally fine. If you build to hard-counter stealth, stealth-exclusive players should have a window of vulnerability.
The problem, though, is that thieves can’t get access to important effects without being stealthed. Given slightly better condition cleansing through more trait lines or simply by adding some cleanse effects to existing utility skills, the whole stealth and Shadow Arts debacle wouldn’t be an issue.

Revealed is not a counterplay is an hardcounter to a mechanic, it’s slighty different.
Like it’s different compare it to deathshround since it’s used both as a attack weapons/defend system.
If you want a counter play you make a visible debuff since it’s what all people cry about, the fact they don’t see the thief.

revealed is the worst and unfair mechanic they could have ever developed.
i can understand something like a visibile debuff but prevent to use a whole traitline is just crap.

The players killed EotM, not the devs… The map have a lot of potential, but it was all wasted by the greed of players. Anyone that belive otherwise is making him/herself a fool.

Correction anti-stealth. And I am not for removing or providing a “one button” counter for stealth. Just toning it down a bit.
Just so happens thief abuses Stealth to the point that it becomes obvious that without stealth, they do not know how to play.
Warriors have been in worse situations but we try different builds. Even the most laughable ones sometimes results in something good.
Perhaps it is time that the Thief players L2P without depending on Stealth too much.

Stealth should drop as soon as the thief attacks.
If he gets evaded/blocked he should come out of stealth. It’s what makes stealth so unbalanced compared to other games versions. There’s no risk involved.
Spam button 1 until you get the backstab, don’t worry if he has a shield up or dodges your first two clumsy attempts, you get to keep trying until you land it. If I miss with my updraft I don’t get a refresh until it lands.
An attack even if evaded or blocked should still count as an attack and remove stealth. That would balance it entirely. It raises the skill cap without destroying the class.
Tell us how much balanced is if thief get reveled debuff (drop stealth = revealed) for every single kitten does in this game, without destroying the class ofc…….

Most of wvw people i found in wvw maps were there becouse of tower farming. Of couse none is angrier if the same crappy mechanic is still there.

Maybe turning eotm into a regular wvw map stopping the pve teasing, i don’t know.
