I’ve found the best way to do the storyline is just bypass it until you reach level 80 the go back and do it as you’ll de-level to the needed level to do them.

did you consider that people actually want to make the game better?
I hate to tell you but sometimes it takes repeating yourself again and again to get the message through.

No it doesn’t because on a forum your words remain and can even be googled forever an ever. It’s not like a speech platform where your words go into outer space.

I think the problem is that every single day a NEW thread pops up with “I’m dissatisfied or I’m quitting or BOTS everywhere” they really get tiring and I don’t know why they can’t just be put into ONE single thread of their catagory? This way it won’t look like there’s massive negativity threads on the front page. So when someone posts one of these negative thoughts please put them in their appropriate thread and delete the new threads please.

I don’t mean to be a smart kitten or anything, but I was wondering, is complaining like this standard procedure on mmo forums?

I personally think the game is pretty good. I agree it has problems, but it was released 2 months ago, so I’m keeping my hopes up that a lot of them will be fixed.

I was playing in the game and was talking to people in map chat and I caught somebody saying that the only reason people go to the forums is to complain, so I’m kind of curious. Is this true, or are the forums a good way of judging the thoughts of the community as a whole?

Lord yes, complaining and dissing a game is the common thing on most forums. There’s always a handful of fanbois/Golems from other games who don’t want another game to take the lead over their precious. I call them Golems as well. Poor pitiful lonely creatures who cannot deal with the world and want everyone else to be as miserable as they are. So, they Golem the forums (much like a troll) on a daily basis telling how bad everything is in the game. I never understood why moderators tolerate them and yet punish those that defend the game. They will whine and cry over every little detail they don’t agree with or like.

I have been playing MMO’s since UltimaOnline, and NEVER have i seen so many people who flat out hate the game and have nothing good to say about it, who stick around the forums to say the same hateful comments over and over….

I have seen far worse games get some bad comments, then the people who dont like it move on to the next fotm and stop posting.

Im just not sure why this game attracts these people…..

If I dont like a game, I dont stick around its forums and QQ about it, I move on, play other games….I may comment letting the company know what I didnt like once, but im not going to stick around and waste time berating people who made the game and people who like/love the game….

Am I the only one who finds this behaviour perplexing?

Nope I’m with yah also. I feel it’s the Nintendo Game Genie age of gamers come of age who still think there should be a god mode and everything comes easy and within a month or two of play.

I came from the old school game of Everquest where things took YEARS to accomplish and you didn’t level to maximum level in a day or even 2 days like so many of these MMO’s today. These MMO’s today are so candy coated it’s funny. Then it’s funny to actually see some playing whine and complain about it. lol They don’t know what WORK and EARNING something really is.

Legendary weapons no longer an option for most players?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

ravinhood.3981

Are legendary weapons even a possibility for most players to go for at this point?
At the rate the prices are climbing for just the exotic version alone I highly doubt anyone not already very wealthy could ever afford one.

I was at one time going for both sunrise and twilight, but due to recent spikes in prices I no longer see these as an option and wonder what I have left to do in the game.
You may say that I could go for the other parts of the legendary first, but what is the point? by the time I get those parts done I will have fallen even further behind the market for dusk/dawn.

I would have to play about 10+ hours a day of solid dungeon farming to even hope of catching up to the insanely fast rising prices of the market right now.

So now I ask the ultimate question… Are legendary weapons no longer an option for players to go for?

To clarify:
I am more than willing to put in the time if it was not all for nothing due to a fast paced market that will always be one step ahead of me.

I am aware legendary weapons are not a instant thing, but I do not feel that one part of the legendary should be so expensive/random to get…especially the exotic precursor.

Why do you think you must/should have this Legendary weapon in a month or two? I’ve played MMO’s where it took YEARS to get these kinds of weapons. I’ve never seen so many whiners and complainers who think the very best items should drop like rain or be easily gotten in a very short amount of time. It’s an MMO…..things are MEANT to take a longgggggggggggggggg time to get.

Lack of any real loot is a huge problem for this game!

ravinhood.3981

The only issue I have with loot is that chests and bosses seem to have the same loot drops as other monsters which is pretty underwhelming. It a bit disappointing to spend 30 minute working on one boss and getting a blue axe and scrap leather. I wish the special drops had special loot. Other than that, I haven’t really had an issue making money, I don’t think it should be obnoxiously easy to get rich, just like real life.

You ever play or open chests in GW1? Don’t know how many times I got crap loot out of them like blues and purples and of course rarely golds. They could use a title track in this one like GW1 though for wisdom and chest openings so the better your stats are in those title catagories the better chances you had of getting rares and your keys not breaking.

As for forum people saying the game sucks because it’s not the umpteenth WoW clone, oh well, who cares?

That so funny that you mention that… I remember when many MMO came out after WoW and people shot them down as being a WoW clone. Now we get an MMO that is not like WoW and people shoot it down because it is not like it. Silly humans!

To me it feels like the only way to earn any kind of gold in this game is to play around with the trading post which I can’t.

I know nothing about economy and I barely know any math, or how people think, and react to certain things and whatever kind of mental powers you need to play the trading post.

Basically you save everything you can and only unload what you need to. In the FUTURE new content will add new NEEDS for MATS that people don’t have or didn’t save or just vendored. This is how I made my fortune in GW1 when Factions and Nightfall and Eye of the North came out. Hoard everything and only sell what is truly worthless. I got a AC15 r7 blue shield that sold for 100k and most in the early game would have thought that worthless and it was even BLUE in the color scheme but PVP players wanted it for some reason or other. I also got a AC14 r6 and kept it for my monk. So basically what appears to be TRASH today could be worth a fortune tomorrow as new expansions and content come out..

Ummm I ADVENTURE for what I want/get in the game I don’t go BUYING it.

The flames the OP gets for his exit critique is so reminiscent of fanboi. I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that 99% of all the flames in this post were made by people who are either not yet 80 or have been 80 for less than 2 weeks.

I imagine I will get flamed for saying this but in due time those flamers will have to eat their hats. I am 41 years old, I beta tested Asheron’s Call. Played Ultima I, etc. don’t hand me the WoW generation crap. What is your plan for the game post 80? Seriously, W3 is all about which server has more players. You can play SPvP/TPvP at level 1 so it’s not even an MMOin that regards and how many times can you be interested in explore mode dungeons for shiny gear? 2 weeks….2 weeks after hitting 80 at 2-4 hours a day. Your mileage may vary. Game was fun, worth 60 bucks to me to play it. It does have an end though, if you think it doesn’t you will eat your hat in time.

Ahhhh but you forget those that haven’t reached lvl 80 yet and like myself still in the 40’s will have another go or threee or four with ALTS and take just as long to level them to 80 as well. By that time there will be other EXPANSIONS and NEW CONTENT so it works WELL for us CASUAL players who don’t even put 2 hours a day into the game. To me 2 to 4 hours a day is NOT casual playing it’s just a slow playing hardcore. lol Casual playing is soooooo slooooooooooow which might equate to 1hour a day if that much since I don’t play everyday like some do.

So, if you have the money for the things you need to progress in the game and be effective, and have to work towards the things you want over time, then whats the problem again?

The problem is the NOW generation wants it NOW just a mere month or so into the game. Why back in the day it took MONTHS to get one piece of quality gear and YEARS to get the best.

Someone like Soul you have to overlook and discard because he’s playing abnormally for a CASUAL which this game is designed for. This game isn’t designed around wealth because you don’t really need it and a casual will yield better costs and prices because they won’t level to 80 so fast. I’m only level 40 this long into the game and prices are falling and that’s great for ME the CASUAL player. By the time I get to lvl 80 the prices will have leveled out to what they should be. They always do at the rate I play.

This is truely an MMO to play for the FUN of it not for the kitten of it or the I’m better than you because I’m wealthy of it.

The loot you’d get though will be level based so if you get a kewl looking weapon an you are only level 40 then it will be worthless very quicky but if you are level 80 then it would be valuable for a long time.. Remember this ISN’T GW1 so things can and probably will be DIFFERENT in how they distribute and create things for THIS game.

I usually hover at most around 40G.

Than my addiction kicks in and 200+ Unidentifed Dyes later, not to mention Forge Gambling, i’m back to about 5g until I farm more Ore/Run Events and do Dungeons if I feel like.

Gold actually IS easy to come by. It takes time. It does NOT take a lot of effort.

When you say “it takes time” your right it takes TONS of time to amass a small amount of gold. And I am saying it shouldn’t be that way. You should be able to make a decent amount of gold in a reasonable amount of time.

Oh I see NOW what you are saying. You want massive amounts of gold in a very short timeframe instead of having to WORK LONG hours and days and weeks and months and years for it….yes NOW I see where you’re at. I played EQ and EQ2 and I know what they USED to be like before just GIVING PLAT away. I remember when it took days and weeks and months and years to get a pot load of PLAT. Now making plat is like walk here grab your pot, walk there grab your pot, walk everywhere and grab your pot of PLAT.

I’m personally veryyyyyyyy happy about the change and going back to the “good ole days” when coins didn’t come so easily and you didn’t get rich quick overnight. Now there’s something at least to WORK and PLAY for and put some time into at the endgame.

I played EQ from June of 99 to 2004 and by the time GOD came out I had over 60 million plat, It wasn’t hard to make plat in that game either.

Well I am talking about the NORMAL players not those without a life or who play 24/7. Plus it’s EASY to say ou had 60 million plat by the time GOD came out. PROVING it is another thing.

I dont spend my time researching new games, I spend my free time playing them.

Then that’s YOUR problem not the problem of the designers. It’s like saying you don’t read current events and don’t know there’s salmanilla poisoning in JIF peanut butter (this is an analogy not a reality right now but there has been other peanut butter brands recently with this outbreak) and buy it anyways expecting the FDA to take care of you 24/7 lol

Yes because you are not only endorsing somthing tha destroys game economies but also saying “i want to play a Massively Sigleplayer Online Game”

Excuess me you are incorrect. It does not destroy the game economy. What destroys the economy is gold sellers and bots. A bot does all its actions alone without any human contact needed. What I am saying in my post is why cant I purchase 3 more guild wars 2 accounts and have 4 character’s logged into the game at the same time while I have a program that repeats all my keystrokes and mouse movement/clicks to all other game clients. It takes a human to do it, it also takes real life cash. Something I would rather do then deal with 85%+ of people that I just do not want to know.

Because THAT ^ is not the way THIS game was INTENDED to be played. You get ONE account and you play ONE character at a time….period endo mundo. If you want to play by yourself with henchies/heroes they made a game like that for you it’s called Guild Wars 1, why do you think THIS game must be like that game? This game is for DIFFERENT types of people and players.

This generation of “getting something for nothing” is something new. I’m not old but I’m still from the generation that was teached that we have to work to accomplish, we have to strive to prosper.

This attitude of “getting it for free” is very weird and it sound very dangerous as well. So what you basically are going to do nothing in your life and expect to get the same rewards as ppl who bust their kitten off?

I can honestly say that I’m not busting my kitten off in life but doing so I am fully aware and fully agree on that when I’m making the choice to not bust my kitten of I am not entitled the same rewards as people who are working as crazy to reach their goals.

And that is how it should be. You work your kitten off you get rewarded, if you don’t then you have made your choice and won’t get the same rewards thats just how it is, its the basic nature law, ppl who are providers are more important then ppl who leech.

I worry that your attitude of gaming reflect your world opinions. If you don’t believe that you should work hard to get better at a game then how can I believe that you actually are trying to accomplish anything at all with your life?

this made me laugh im sorry, but #1 why are you worrying about what im doing in my life based off my opinion of video games??? it says your either self righteous or just obsessive. #2 theres and important destinction to make here, in this GAME<< you are at liberty to play the way you wish and every one is on eqaul footing. in real LIFE your kinda arent at liberty to live how you would like, there are benefical and and unbenefical choices, smart ones and deadly ones. in real LIFE every one is not truely equal so you must progress progress progress but games were and are meant to be an escape from that thats the point im trying to make.

Why must or do you think games are MEANT to be an ESCAPE from the real world? I’m not trying to escape from the real world when I play a game I’m trying to do something else I’d LIKE to do in the real world and PROGRESS in the fantasy world as well.

All my life I’ve always been taught and seen that accomplishment and achievement is more REWARDING than just trudging along doing the same thing just for a paycheck. I’ve always looked for ways to BETTER myself (stats of my life) and learn something new. I guess some of the people today are more LAZY and LAID BACK and don’t want to accomplish anything or achieve anything or really WORK for anything. Those on UNEMPLOYMENT in this country and sucking up the EXTRA weeks they’ve been getting and begging for more are a PRIME example of the laziness and lackadazical attitudes many have today.

But, in fairness games should have a bit of BOTH worlds in them where those that like to PROGRESS and ACHIEVE can and those that just want everything on a lazy playing silver platter can get their cheap reward too.

The third thing I thought was going to be good but turned out to be bad was no Raids and Dungeon gear being cosmetic only.

Did any of you complaining even play Guild Wars 1? Every dungeon looted item was COSMETIC as well. I could get a COLLECTORS weapon and have just as good of stats as anything that came out of FOW, Underworld, The Depths of whatever and every dungeon in Eye of the North.

Of course for those that are VAIN the cosmetic portion of that part of the game is what they played and paid for. Just like this game. I knew that COMING IN because it was stated many times GW2 would be a lot like GW1 in cosmetics respect and equipment stats.

Don’t get me wrong though even though I KNEW what it was going to be like I secretly hoped they would add something that would give us that like character progression in the game. I like weapons that are more powerful than the norm myself. I’d like Legendary weapons to be what we got in the deepest depth of the dungeons and only the bravest and most skilled players would get them BUT and this is a big BUT I didn’t want them to be so powerful that they made the casuals or those less skilled cry about it.

You know a weapon with maybe +5 more points of power all around. Or a weapon that has a skill we can use in our skill choices that others can’t, stuff like that. It wouldn’t make us super humans but it would give DRIVE to the game for those that like better stat loot instead of COSMETICS.

Please don’t say “Go Play WOW” I don’t want to PAY $15 a month for what I’m stating above I/WE want. I want a NO MONTHLY FEE MAJOR MMO like this game to do that for us. I don’t know why ANET is soooooooooooooooooooo adamant about every body gets the same stats but everybody doesn’t look the same in their design decision. They are losing players fast because of this after they came and played and are now finding out this is just a cosmetic MMO game.

I got to level 40 and now I am even bored because I know once I get to 80 there’s only going to be cosmetics to earn and then what? In GW1 I NEVER bought a 15K armor set as I just thought it was ridiculous to spend that kind of money on LOOKS when my 1500 gold set of Kurzick armor on my female character looked hot enough and that’s all I ever bought for her except the cheap stuff getting to the level 20 stuff.

Also you wouldn’t believe all the comments and ewwws and ahhhhh I got from my 1500gp suit I made for my Necro from Nightfall stock. She looked like a bumble bee in yellow and black.

Cosmetics is ok for those that are into vanity but it’s not for me either.

Hes…not …talking about cash flow…

The customer service should be at least the same regardless of the way they earn their money.

This is about the customers being happy. If someone leaves the game because thy had a bad experience with content, bugs, bots, DR, w/e the excuse maybe….thats bad.

The chances of me returning to a game after leaving it due to bad experiences like that are slim to none.

Remember its not JUST the issues but how efficient they are at fixing it and how good the communication is regarding those issues to the community.

EVERYTHING is about CASH FLOW and REVENUE and NET PROFITS everything else is just a side show. Companies BUDGET for LOSS of these things including CUSTOMERS. Of course they would like to keep as many as they can but with a GAME like this it’s not that important to them as much as the REMAINING base after the initial launch.

Every MMO out there gets new players upon launch and then loses a bunch of them afterwards. Known facts. A few malcontents of hardcore players aren’t going to hurt their BUDGETED bottom line. Now IF they happen to go below budgeted losses then it might become a concern. Otherwise it’s just collatteral damage like in a War and no major concern for the main players.

I know my company budgets a 2% loss of revenue per year. I’m pretty sure Anet/Ncsoft know what they are doing. Of course we have a loss prevention department but still the lossses add up to about 2%. They can give up 20% and still come out ahead which is about 200,000 players…..no biggie since they’ve already gotten the main bulk of revenue out of them.

And thats just awesome, cause i currently have only 3 days a week that i can really play (farm). And after just an hour of farming in orr i am getting screwed with DR… :@
How is that fair? Dusk is on the kitten TP for 150gold! Do you want me to buy gold from the bots or something? Cause i am sure as hell not spending my money on gems unless they go down in price, allot.

You get rid of bots by making gems so cheap that its no longer worth for them to bot. Now you are just screwing your playerbase.

I am rather annoyed and bored with this game right now, witch is really ashame, its been a great start, but after getting a full t3 cultural gear set, and doing world completion, now what am i supposed to do?
Dont like pvp, cant play wvw cause obviously you dont like my amd cpu, wont do dungeons cause i keep getting the permanent dr bug, cant even dream of affording a legendary… :@

So now what?

/rant over

Ummm you could stop playing so much. An hour a day at most, wait a week an only play on the weekends a few hours 3 max. I’ve been playing since the start and I’m still only level 38. More fun taking it slow and enjoying the ride instead of pressing the gas peddle to the floor at 100mph or more.

Umm, you could stop telling me how quickly or slowly I play the game. Not everyone experiences or wants to experience a game the way you do.

To push the way you play on other people, is never a good idea.

If you want to take it at a leisurely pace. That’s fine. I’m not going to tell you to change. I’d appreciate if you left my style of play alone too.

All these critiques on “playstyle” take a backseat to the massive problems that are in the game.

All evidence of this is right here in this forum. If you’re all too lazy to dig these examples out for, I can do it for you! This post is going to get very long, very fast with quotations from other gamers.

“Playstyle” is the least of everyone’s concerns and is just a distraction.

Take a look at the real issues. It’s also your game they’re affecting.

Thing is chum no game can be patterned JUST FOR YOU. There’s MILLIONS of players out there and a developer must meet what the MAJORITY of players will like. Not what YOU like or what I LIKE though for me most of them hit what I LIKE because I PLAY SLOW.

Fast players will not always be satisfied and nor will most developers try to even satisfy them because they require TOO MUCH in content and developers can only program so much content in a given amount of time. If one could just THINK it and it be done of course then they could keep up with fast players, but, since all thought REQUIRES PROGRAMMING and INPUTTING of CODE it will take much much longer and there’s just no way to keep up with YOUR style of play.

For you best go play another MMO or one you’ve seen that can keep up with your PLAY STYLE. This ain’t the one for you.

Are current diminishing returns permanent ?

It’s a good system, I like it. Makes getting things take a whole lot longer as it should. One shouldn’t have a full set of anything in a few days or weeks play. Why back in the day when I played Everquest it might take MONTHS to get an optimum drop in it.

MMO’s are meant to be played for years not minutes.

DR is killing this game more then the bots (for me)

It’s not good enough to loose 40-50% of your user base and then say “well, they will come back when new content comes”. If that happens to your game then as a MMORPG developer you have failed.

Based on an MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION FEE MMO you would be correct, but, based on an MMO that doesn’t require a monthly fee you are incorrect as Anet/NCsoft doesn’t rely on repeated monthly fees to survive or be a success. Look at GW1 for 6 years + no monthly fees and until recently no mini purchases from the cash shop. So it did real well and is a success for the first 4 years easily without any monthly fees or worrying about the playing population size.

Those that rushed to 80 are the ones complaining. Those of us taking it slow and easy are having a ball. Game is a GREAT SUCCESS and will just keep getting better and better. See Anet has the DATA on the players of this game, those that complain and whine don’t. They will always see the glass half empty when it surely is half full and filling up right now.

You’re not suppose to be able to buy EVERYTHING in a week or two. Really getting tired of these whine threads about bots and how they keep players from getting or doing anything. I’m making gold and getting items reasonably well and bots aren’t hurting me at all.

I haven’t been negative towards Dungeon Finders in and of itself, but a Cross Server Dungeon Finder would make groups much worse. People would be able to be jerks and jack off in a corner without any ramification. Dungeons would become like the Internet with idiots spewing goo all over it. If these kind of things are serverwide instead of cross-server, then people wouldn’t be able to be complete tools without getting them blacklisted. Trust me, I have played WoW from 1 year before the Burning Crusade to 1 year after Cataclysm, which means that I went through all the stages of the LFG-system in there, and every update to it made most dungeon runs worse.

I’m all for a serverwide LFG channel though, since there is technically a LFG function in one of the tabs in the social window. Don’t know how it works though.

This ^ is ALL totally WRONG because this didn’t happen in RIFT. You’re just making assumptions based on some other game you’ve played but I’ve seen the results of cross sever dungeon group finders and THEY WORK.

If you force yourself to sit on GW2, you’ll inevitably burn yourself out and you’ll find even more things to nitpick about it. So take a break ^.^ <3

No, that’s the whole point of an MMORPG.
It should be like a virtual life for you.

Yeah after what 13 years now Everquest is still the best VIRTUAL LIFE MMO out there. BTW it’s F2P now if you didn’t know.

This was a big deal in RIFT and really helped get into instances pretty quickly and fast. Took awhile for them to see the advantages of it but they did implement it shortly after the initial release. Hope they do that for GW2 as well.

Please, let’s not forget that, come Tuesday night, everyone on these forums whining will be on battle.net whining….

Thank goodness, perhaps then we can get back to some serious discussions like what color dye is the best for armor? Can you dye weapons btw?

Some people just need to understand that their love affair/addiction to mmos is over.

Well I came from Everquest and Guild Wars 1 and I find Guild Wars 2 fresh and new and fun atm. I love the events and the innovative Heart quests. One thing I’ve not seen that was pretty common in those other MMO’s is “repetitive questing”? You know the ones you could do over n over at your choice? To me though THAT is what GRINDING was/is like in GW1 Factions that Borealis Academy one for Kurzick faction of 400 you got right outside the gates. You talked to the NPC, followed him to the general area and had an event of fighting another group of Kurzicks, once over you got your reward of 400 faction points and teleported back to Borealis Academy and rince and repeated. Don’t really see that in this game unless you just count the repeatable events that happen as the same?

Well you don’t HAVE to do it. I wasn’t DEMANDING it, just a friendly REQUEST. Since I’ve been playing I’ve never seen a bot or gotten a spam mail so I’d just like to see what’s happening that players are calling other players bots. Repetitive activity doesn’t necessarily mean a bot because I’ve been known to do exact same things while playing a game and even got PM’s from what probably was a GM to see if I was legit. They did it in Star Wars Galaxies a lot when I was manually mining.

LOL, my favorite thing about the “80 things to do at level 80” is

“Make another character to experience a new race / play style”

LOL

Roughly translated to “Start Over Biznatches!”

I have 8 characters in Everquest so what’s so bad about starting a new character?

That you cannot be boosted in this game.
You just can’t be asked to level a new character to level 80, when it takes so long.

When it takes so long? lol People are leveling characters to 80 in less than a week!

Not dealing with bots?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: ravinhood.3981

ravinhood.3981

It’s not so easy to “deal” with bots. Bots work because they emulate the game client – sending the same commands as a normal player does. ANet needs to find a method of detecting bots, and then banning them en-masse.

If they ban one bot account, that person will simply buy/hack a new account and use that. The problem needs to be stopped at the source – the actual botting program. This, unfortunately, is not easy.

This ^ is correct you can’t really get rid of BOTS because they have unlimited amount of accounts they’ve hacked and/or stolen credit cards they just buy another copy of the game and nothing every bothers them or costs them money. There was a guy on a tv documentary last year I think it was and he told how these sweat shops work and you just can’t stop them. They will get by every ban that is directed at them and because they are out of the country and in countries that don’t care the law can’t touch them either.

This is also why I don’t care what bots do or how much money they make because they can’t affect my game or the way I play. Games like this aren’t about getting RICH or PRESTIGEOUS because there’s no Equipment progression in this game, not even character progression after lvl 80. So, bots can’t do anything to me in the sense that some players are claiming they can. They don’t keep me from leveling or making my own money or EARNING the GEAR I want. I do not BUY my stuff in RPG games like this because to me the POINT of the game is ADVENTURING for it and EARNING It. So, I really don’t see why so many get upset about bots.
It’s like the one guy said above it’s the gamers that BUY from these bots because they want to be FIRST for some reason or other that keeps bots and gold farmers in these games. If you/they didn’t buy from them they’d have no reason to be here.

Your level, class, and happiness rating 1-10

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: ravinhood.3981

ravinhood.3981

Looks like the positives are CLEARLY defeating the negatives and in the 80’s average just like on Metacritic.com Games a SUCCESS.

A lot of the lower happiness levels could also probably be fixed with some class specific tweaks, fixes of dungeon rewards/repair costs, and resolving the bugs/glitches.

FYI, for all the 10/10 and 1/10 voters: In statistics (if this really is a statistics problem) the high and low outliers are usually removed from the stat calculations.

I have a hard time believing anyone here is a 10/10 because there are obvious problems that need to be fixed. Your satisfaction cannot be 100% when there are broken things in the game.

I have a hard time believing anyone here is 1/10 because….if you were really that unhappy, you wouldn’t be here.

This is precisely why outliers are eliminated.

I tend to do it like the Olympics scoring once was, you drop the highest and the lowest ONE and then ALL the others count. So if you had 3 10’s and a 5 ana 6 ana 1 you’d drop one 10 and one 1 and all the rest count. Better statistical calculation by far.

What do you think about the Guild Wars 2 "community"?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: ravinhood.3981

ravinhood.3981

In game the community is absolutely fantastic. Better than any game I’ve ever played.

In these forums there’s an overwhelmingly massive number of whiny, spoiled, entitled crybabies. The community here, with the exception of a few forums, such as Lore, is horrifically bad.

EDIT: Just went back and read some of the other responses. Glad to see I’m not alone in this opinion.

Yep you are quite correct. I have to believe most of the whiners/malcontents are old WOW players that can’t get their fix on this no monthly fee game. Granted it is easier but well it was intended to be easier. I find it quite challenging myself and haven’t found an event or heart that I couldn’t solo if I played it well. Much good stuff and slow playing it makes it that much more fun for me.

It will go the same way as SWTOR.

Hardly as SWTOR has a monthly fee this game doesn’t. So more players will stick with this game as it advances than pay $15 a month for a fail game like SWTOR. Guild Wars survives because of no monthly fees. Same with this game.
