As a Pve ’er my main problem with the game is how broken Risk vs. Reward is. The fact that you make equal if not more money running in a champ train over running the most difficult content (arah/48+ fractals) blows my mind.
We need INSTANCED elite content as well. PvE is way to easy right now.

The game has so much potential, from the absolute stunning world to the active combat. The problem is Anet refuses to use it to its full potential.
- The AI is way to dumb for the type of active combat the game provides
- No new areas except an southsun
- Exploits/bugs in all the “hard” content, if you can even call it hard….
- The LS’s story. Was it written for a 5 year old?
- NOTHING IS PERMANENT
- Failure to give the community a final verdict on where they are going with the game (LS forever or boxed expansions) FIGURE IT OUT!
- Failure to adress the dungeon/fractal community at all (1 post on the fractured forums and no posts on the dungeon forum for MONTHS ALMOST A YEAR)
- Everything is time gated. STOPPPPPPPPPPP
This is just off the top of my head and only on the PvE side of things. Not a pvper but from what ive heard it isnt in a much better state. Wasnt it supposed to be MLG? LOL

How come the hardest PvE in the game is the least rewarding? Mindless tasks such as Orr farming and CoF path 1 make 5 to 10 times more gold in an hour then i do running 3 hours of fractals. Hell, i feel lucky when i get 2 rares in a level 38 run (and thats only 40-60s if im lucky). It makes absolutely no sense! Fix it!

IT HAS TO BE INSTANCED. It is impossible to coordinate massive amounts of players that have only been taught to spam “1”. Since launch everything open world has been spamming “1” in a zerg. Now all of a sudden you expect them to know how to actually play the game?
Please Anet. Make instanced content this hard. The place where players actually want this kind of challenge. Even if you make it like a raid (25-30 man groups) please make it instanced.
You can already see all the threads asking for a nerf. Open world players dont want this kind of challenge.
Lastly, rewards need to be addressed. They need to be TRADEABLE. Even if the new tequatl was way easier people would stop doing him once they got the skin they wanted. For all the people who dont use those stats or dont like the skin, he is already pointless. The only way to make money off him is to get an impossible precursor or the extremely low chance at the mini. Tradable rewards are key to longevity.

My word is, boring. There has been very little permanent content that has been added since launch and Anet refuses to address the issue of the lack of difficult content.
Every LS update is just a Zerg fest for ap hunters and ways for them to add more crap to the gem store.
And dont even get me started about the storyline/lore of the LS. Does anet think 5 year olds play the game? I mean comon! Half of me wants them to build off lore from gw1 but the other half of me doesnt want them to touch it and ruin it. Its why i voted for the Thaumanova Reactor and not Abaddon Fractal.

This is the problem with not having soft trinity (like gw1) or having a full trinity (like wow). Without a trinity its just a dps race. You can change it up all you want but in the end the best players will be running with the gear that puts out the most damage.

What difficulty level are you doing? The harder difficulties (20+, 30+ something like that?) drops tier 6 crafting mats.
I don’t think it’s more money than rushing p1 of CoF, but not much is other than “playing” the market.

Using fractal relics and pristine relics to buy ascended armor pieces would be cool. You know, since its the ONLY place in gw2 where ascended is REQUIRED.

In theory, Fractals can extend forever, it’s a matter of how deep you can go. Practically, your level of agony resist caps progress to a certain point.
More items that can be imbued with AR means the deeper you can go, even without new maps added.

Ive posted about this idea plenty of times before. Its what made Gw1 dungeons so addicting. That small chance of getting a super sick skin that was worth a lot of gold that you could keep or sell ALONG with a guaranteed gold reward.

Zerging is totally fine. The problem arises when the game is 95% zerg content and then the 5% that actually requires the player to use their brain grants almost NO REWARDS.
It all comes back to Risk vs. Reward. That 5% should be more rewarded then the 95%.

That can work both ways, attracting people that played GW1 and keeping away people that did not like GW1 that much.

EVERY series of games remakes themselves to some degree (the degree of which varies; Call of Duty for example has a very slow change over time, whereas the Final Fantasy series can and will drastically re-imagine the design from game to game).
It’s fine to be disappointed by GW2, but making up poor arguments is not a particularly sound way to express that disappointment.

Ascended armor should be done the same way as the weapons, through crafting. But it would be interesting to involve dungeon tokens as ingredient to make a certain part for the armor.
Depending on which dungeon tokens, you decide the looks of your armor. That would be good, so there’s choice in how your armor will look like.
3 things.
1. Crafting is not the only way to get ascended weapons right now
2. I GUARANTEE that not to far down the road they will add new ways to get weapons. Just like they did for all the other ascended gear.
3. I said you could still craft the armor. This would just be a different route you could take. One that involved the place where ascended is actually needed

I think the only way to get ascended gear should be by running fractals. I also think that ascended gear should not have greater stats that exotics, this way WvW players and anyone else does not feel obligated to acquire these items to stay ‘on par’.

Because Gw1 is old and dated. Yes i still enjoy it way more then gw2 but i have moved on. Its just depressing to see your favorite game go in the totally opposite direction you expected it too.

It is important to keep in mind that GW1 had almost no end game. Sure there were random arena, underworld and FoW. But those are not great end game by any measure.
In GW1 the end game was starting an alt character. It was so alt friendly that I had 9 characters. Many other players I know had more. It took players hours to plan out their character. They have to pick the skills. They have to set the traits. They had to equip the character and get skins for them. But at the same time, those tasks are fairly easy so no one feels it is a grind at all.
GW2 is not alt friendly at all. It takes forever to max one character’s equipments. That’s the core of the problem. I explained this in great details in this thread here.

Gw1 had no endgame? You sure we were playing the same game? If my memory servers me correctly gw1’s endgame was the best ive ever played. The amount of elite dungeons with the addicting rewards system kept me playing the game for YEARS.

I am actually quite shocked by this thread. Why does everyone compare endgame to WoW? Did no one come from gw1 like me?
Gw1 endgame was hardcore elite dungeons that rewarded you with TRADEABLE skins unique to each dungeon path. Whats funny is everyone hails gw2 as the greatest horizontal progression game when gw1 was even more horizontal (if that makes any sense lol). It was by far the most addicting system i have ever played as a gamer.
Since everyone is thinking WoW endgame i would rate it at a 3/10 because i think guild raids (20-50 people) would be a cool addition to the game
Now if its Gw1 endgame content we are talking about then 150/10. Gw2 is very lacking when it comes to ELITE CHALLENGING INSTANCED CONTENT THAT REWARDS SKILL NOT TIME.

How about instead of nerfing/removing berserkers, they actually make content that is hard so you cant do it in all berserkers.

The problem is the rewards arent balanced with difficulty. Atm, you make more money mindlessly farming orr/cof then anywhere in the game. The highest level fractals should be the best money in the game. It should be like DoA from gw1. Guarenteed cash because of the level of difficulty.
Another problem is the lack of a “carrot” in the dungeons. They need to add a unique weapon skin set to each dungeon that is A. Seperate from token rewards and B. Tradable. Thats why people ran all the dungeons in gw1 and it would be why they would run all of them in gw2. Its such a simple solution but its Anet we are talking about.
They are more more focused on putting more consortium chest BS in the Gem Store. I mean thats what we really want! Right guys!?

It doesn’t have to be instanced.
However, it has to be doable with PUGs since it is in the open world and as a matter of fact, we cannot control people in the open world. We cannot kick people that don’t listen. We cannot force condition builds to go to the back and defend the turrets instead of attacking Tequatl.
Thats why challenging content needs to be instanced. So we can control outcomes.
