Not going to lie, the fact that your attitude has shifted so significantly from your Teachers post to now is really disheartening.

As an IRL teacher, I know that good teachers understand that there will be people out there who know more than you do, and the best thing you can do, to teach well, is to accept that you won’t always be right. Learning more is always the way to be an effective teacher.

This post really upset me, and I had a hard time to adjust to this and understand it. I ask a friend about it and we think there is a misunderstanding of what I mean.

The thing I hate about “zerker” is people who say that they are a better player just cause they are wearing it

I’m not looking down on people who’re running “zerkers”, its just I do not believe either are superior and that you don’t need to have either equipped to learn the attack patterns of the dungeon bosses. I believe some people play better in whatever outfit they are in and of course people play differently, I just hope everyone can work with each other.

People are not better because they run zerker. Do not misunderstand. However, wearing zerker requires a person to become a better player.

What do you even mean by minmax. Because pretty sure if you spec to be efficient you are going to have a better experience.

That’s fine, but then there is zero point to this thread. “Hey guys, I recommend using the worst possible weapon available to my profession.” It’s like saying “I don’t run for speed so here’s something to try: not using a weapon at all and only using a pet for damage.”

By all means do whatever you want with your guild, but why make posts touting the benefits of something utterly useless? If someone is such a bad player they need to use axe, they’re already using axe instead of dying constantly with a sword or greatsword.

Basically this. I figured I wouldn’t have to say much to get this kind of response, and really I’m just trying to help. I’m sure that someone who ’know’s it all’ is a threat to what you want to think, but at the end of the day being realistic is important for some people, even if it’s not for you. :)

And u´re still pushing sword 1 97% of the time. Torch FF is usually not needed. Horn can be used.
Axe 4 works only if u don´t fight on a wall, guard reflects do more dmg (so he/she should do it).
RaR is most times not needed too.
LB5 cd is long, most fights are over before it is rdy again.

Old build was more fun, no need to open inventory to swap LB/WH and/or possibel rotation with dagger/axe.

Open inventory to switch weapons before combat is not hard, not challenging, just annoying. And annoying things don´t make fun.

Never claimed the axe offhand reflect was to replace anything, it’s just there for in between things (when required). Common sense dictates for most things that a guardian’s wall or a mesmer’s feedback is what should be relied on first. (Although I do encourage people to give offhand training + sig of the wild + whirling defence a try on lupicus’s aoe.)

Rarely fighting things in walls these days. Fgs nerf and all that.

If your Barrage is still on CD, doesn’t matter because your rapid fire rarely will be, just time it closer to it dying.

Torch fire field is needed depending on your team, I trust again that most people understand when to use it based on party composition and quality of players in said party.

Never said anything was hard, just didn’t want people standing around thinking the rather bare bones rotation you just explained was all there is to it. It’s important to have the details.

If you have enough AR, the instability for 50 is better than the one for 49, you’ll have better dps output as you wont have to worry about the less endurance = less dps debuff.

So you don’t think players should be able to use timing and skill to actively prevent damage. You want players to be forced to soak up damage through stats from gear and heal through instead. Play another MMO.

Gonna have to side with a-net man, that zerk gear is clearly just too OP and not what was intended. The real game play is in this video. This is a marvel of game design, truly the pinnacle of excellence. This is the solution.

Meanwhile, Anet release a pair of white wings for a back piece on Tuesday. Judging by the vast number of people I see wearing the white wings, I’d say Anet made a good chunk of money that day. Same thing happened when the black wings came out. Any anytime there’s a new outfit, people are buying those up, especially if it’s a good outfit.

Pretty much. People even buy virtual rocks. Why bother making real mounts and things that take effort when you can sell reskinned items and pet rocks. -_-

The only reason why you can run full zerker is because everyone skips everything and abuses high ground and stealth to take off agro from mobs.

Because of this, dungeons are the worst part of the game.

You can kill the trash in zerker. You can also skip without stealth in zerker. You’re missing an important piece of the puzzle here sherlock.

You missed the part where the food was sent for free and he still didn’t want it, that’s what the point was lol. It was funny to me, same as the other day when I sent a guy 10% CM pots and he sent it back and used his 6% or whatever they were ones.
But somehow it became about power food for power capped dungeon, which it wasn’t, then it was about burrows because whole dungeon is just burrows >_> Grasping at straws is a fine art.

Also yeh your tone could be improved then you wouldn’t get so many deleted posts.

Can we just hurry up and split pvp/wvw/pve skills, who cares if the devs think there’s people out there too slow to adapt to the differences srsly -_-

That seems like a drastic misunderstanding of how and why these builds are even run in the first place.

You’re missing the key piece there. It’s the attitude that’s the irony. Simple as that. You’re putting extra meaning in. If what you said is what you think, I’d suggest re-reading what you quoted.

If we are talking about attitude, well I’m sick and tired of people joining my group with ‘play how you want builds’ wasting everyone’s time because the meta is ‘too mainstream’.

Well, to be honest I read a few posts and I was left with the same impression. It seems as if the people from this sub-forum have a bit too much bitterness left from all the neglecting on dungeons and general PvE content. People are free to play any way they want. No one really cares. The problem arises when these same PUG’s who want to play the way they want constantly join speed run/zerk only/meta build only runs. At that point, I am not being allowed to play the way I want. All you folks who want to run garbage builds are just kindly asked to do it in your own groups and stop joining groups that clearly advertise for something else.

Exactly. Every day it’s the same kittening thing. I then get whispers from angry people who expect me to treat the lfg like a charity and take them regardless of their reading comprehension.

I have no issue with this wep setup, tbh I find it’s simple to use and I’m not needing to weapon swap as long as I’m always thinking a step ahead.

I’m not the best ranger but I’m managing this build on my aussie ping fine. The longbow is a great addition and really does make the difference vs the old build. I had quit the class until this new build and am once again enjoying it.

Obviously of course not for everyone as takes some getting used to, but yeh it’s doable for dungeons, not just on paper.

How can you call yourself skilled at PvE if you didint beat any hard boss that no-one can beat? Anybody literally anybody can complete any dungeon path in this game. The said ’’skilled’’ PvEers are only doing the currect easy-mode content faster than noobs. That’s it. No matter how terrible I am , I can do excatly what the ’’skilled’’ PvEer did , it will just take me more time. While if you are bad at PvP , you are just bad and will never win.

Sadly , the only way to counter this is to jump in the aoe spam bandwagon. There is no other way around , no matter how good you are , nothing can be done against this broken build. The minions deal insane damage, they have CC, they throw condis on you… And the saddest part is that 0 skill is required to play this build.

Personally I’m not motivated by some randoms hurling abuse at me due to my lfg to then in turn go hurl abuse at some other non-related randoms and thier lfg. And somehow I think most people are rational enough to be the same, unless of course what you are saying is they are incredibly irrational.

Many people live in their own little bubbles of thought and they never leave them. Usually that’s fine, until they decide that their bubble of thought is worth something more, that their idea of how the game should be is on greater footing to the thoughts of other people. When this bubble of thought cannot be backed up by evidence or rational argument past ’it’s what i think is right’ it becomes very problematic for this person then, to try and force their ideals onto other people. They risk looking foolish and can fall victim to emotional episodes.

The lesson today ladies and gents is this. If you have a problem and you feel that the game should be drastically changed to suit your bubble of thought, back your skritt up with rational reasoning and sound arguments otherwise prepare to get fried.
