He means that “Stow Pet” button that exists on our screen and is clickable but can’t be key-bound.
I agree. I keep my pet stowed when doing JPs (as I’m sure everyone does) and when it pops every time you take some fall damage it’s annoying.

First off, GW2 has plenty of end-game.
But I think people complain there’s no end-game because Anet didn’t restrict things like dungeons, WvW, and PvP to having to be 80 to access it. You can do a lot of that at level 2 and dungeons are unlocked pretty quickly as you progress. Just because it’s accessible before max level (80) doesn’t mean there is no end-game content. Fractals I guess are the only true max-level content. But seriously, there’s a lot to do at all levels. And I think that’s great.

Perhaps one of the best ways to move forward with this (given the state of the game and the resources available) would be to begin implementing additional steps to already-present DEs. Imagine the surprise when the Shadow Behemoth’s death spawns an onslaught from “the other side” that then has to be stopped before rendering all the waypoints in the south of Queensdale contested.
You’d have a bunch of players going, “Wait, what? It’s not over?” The “newness” of the event would add to the surprise and the motivation to discover the other DEs that suddenly have more to them.
Whereas I’m not opposed to the introduction of more, independent DEs, I think the real strength of the DE system lies in prolonged encounters that evolve as they’re played out. At the moment, this doesn’t happen much (save for Orr invasions). So at the very least I believe this would be a good place to start.
I like this idea. Since exploration of the world and DEs seem(ed) to be the major focus of GW2 at ship, I’d love to see significant additions to that aspect of the game in future releases. Adding DEs in the way you described fits nicely in the success/fail conversation that we had earlier. Not only can we have chains initiated by failing events, but continuations of short chains or stand-alone events from success.
World bosses are a perfect example. Despite lead events like Jormag’s and FE’s, when they’re done, everyone scatters and says good job. But defeating something awesome enough to be dubbed a World Boss should have resultant effects as well. And since they’re never failed (Teq aside) having chains that follow them would be cool.
Especially if they’re random. What if 1 of a possible 3 different chains followed an event? That would be cool. Maybe dependent on the size of the zerg or time of day or completely random. Then, after we defeat the Shadow Behemoth, either 1) a swarm of shadowy monsters pour out of the portals, 2) 3 new portals appear at locations around the swamp that must be closed, or 3) the SB’s “corpse” leaves a shadowy residue that must be carried (and defended from random attacks) to a nearby outpost for study/cleansing/etc. The residue could have a toxic/slow effect forcing it to be dropped often or else death to the carrier so-to include more people and not make it a footrace.

Engineer are the rarest according to the census. Though lately I’ve seen more of them than ever, and while Necro & Rangers were quite popular back near launch, they’re now almost extinct. Anyone think it has to do with pet/minion AI and the profession’s dependency on them for damage output?
[TTBH] [HATE], Yak’s Bend(NA)
Hey, I am just pointing out how everyone feels.
Clearly not everyone.
Even a cleric warrior is landing 7k 100 blades. Everyone agrees rangers are garbage, but they’re doing 8-12k rapid fires. Unload thieves, dagger thieves, … even hammer guardians are seeing 2-4k crits while giving everyone in symbol range protection.
You literally just compared a condition spec to all zerk builds. It has nothing to do with which class is played. You could say the same thing about the uselessness of condition warrior vs a powermancer. Condition builds are less useful in PvE content. That’s common knowledge. Let’s stick with apples and apples.

My Engi is pretty young, but I did recognize the usefulness of KR. When I first read the KR changes I was a little excited. I saw the new skills as improvements and justified the 20s CD by knowing that with improved functionality comes a balance…that being a longer shared CD.
Having experimented with the updated KR for about 10 mins and reading the forums poster’s results of trying to use the updated KR I realize that I was wrong for my initial excitement. A couple of the new skills are pretty cool but some are almost contradictory to the kit it’s attributed to. Regardless, the 20s global cooldown is the biggest hit to the skill.
My expectation is that Anet will tweak KR a little in a week or 2 after gathering some data. I think they’ll realize that a 20s CD might be ok, just not a shared global CD. And that the grenade kit’s mine is a little kitten
I’m excited that the recent patch had so much Engineer attention. They fixed bugs that needed to be fixed. They buffed turrets (which everyone was whining about) yet everyone seems to annoyed by the new KR to be grateful for. 50-100% buff to a lot of turret related aspects and players are still complaining that they’re rubbish.

Yea my SAB backpack bugs out too. When I kit swap in combat and then out it stacks and I can see bright blue poking thru.

I’ve tried rolling Warrior a couple times, never getting past 20 due to boredom. A lot of the utilities are passive or boon stackers. I know it’s a strong profession, but its strength seems to trivialize encounters.
Do the range of viable weapons and traits eventually make playing Warrior more exciting or is it always a boring faceroll? What advice can you give me for exciting play? (Don’t say PvP)

I am playing in the queensdale most of the time. Do you know what I see there?
“Troll up” “Wasp Queen up” Oak up" “SB up” etc.
You know what happens? people teleport from WP to WP.
There is nobody doing Moa Trainer Kapa or Escorting events other then Pack Bull and Barthol
So, WPs make people skip more content then a flying mount would do.
So you can already see how being able to avoid travel can trivialize content. Why exacerbate it? WPs have a cost and if you want to pay 1s50c every time you port that’s your choice, but mounts would essentially be free once acquired. Not a gold sink but a purchased item like gear. People will flit around skipping content, fast gathering nodes, drastically dropping mat prices on the TP, not helping others they come across because they will never actually come across anyone. Now this is all with flying mounts of course.
For land mounts you’re gaining nothing except a speed boost, essentially negating the importance of out-of-combat swiftness. Which means various builds will change since players won’t have to trait for it anymore, or bring that speed boost signet anymore.
I haven’t play WoW so I dont know how the flying mounts work in there, but I play this Dragon Prophet and it feels amazing to fly over the lands and get in the middle of the fights where ever you see it fit.
I have. I’ve seen it 1st hand.
If they would add flying foes and aerial events then the flying will be as interesting as the underwater: a different layer of game events
How many people skip the underwater events now?
So why the underwater is different then the sky high?
Because you can’t swim underwater across the entirety of Tyria to avoid content. If you’re talking about giving players mounts and then turning the sky into yet another tier of the world [underwater, terrestrial, aerial] then I understand your thoughts but don’t like it simply from a lore perspective. This isn’t D&D, people don’t ride dragons or giant gryphons. Never have. Dragons are essentially gods in GW2, having immense power. As someone above said, being able to ride one would be like relegating dragons to glorified ponies. Heck, I’m not that fond of underwater combat, I don’t want another untraited weapon set to have to use.

Simply removing “juvenile” from the pet names would be nice. My dear fern hound has been with me since I awoke from the Dream during head-start and, despite having been to Orr and back, he’s still a juvenile?

You find out that the Flame & Frost alliance, the Aetherblade revelation, the Watchwork attack, the LA murder, the Steam Creature invasion….all connected by one Moriarty type character. A genius. A true nemesis, that can pull the strings of multiple entities to craft a detailed web of confusion, distrust, and chaos. It’s an M. Night Shyamalan twist revelation and everyone is all ho-hum, another salad. So she’s a Sylvari…so what?! She’s orchestrating something that we haven’t been able to figure out. We haven’t caught her. She’s struck many times, both overtly and from the shadows. Yet she continues down her path undeterred. We hope she dies pitifully while we speculate what new atrocity she’ll visit upon us. Her insanity makes some rolls their eyes, simply because they feel the need to compare her to the only other insane villian they can think of; The Joker. But she’s not. She’s part Moriarty (brilliant, calculating), part Harley Quinn (petulant, insane, precocious), part Magneto (reshaping the world).
She’s a quality villian, she just needs a better delivery.

I remember my first oh yes! feelings best. When I rolled my first toon in Caledon and joined huge groups actually completing DEs. Doing my first ever JP in Morgan’s Spiral. Feeling like I’d climbed Everest. That feeling of accomplishment as I unlocked my weapon skills and utility skills.
Fast forward to my first ever dungeon run, getting to Orr, and hitting 80. Those were pretty awesome moments.
I haven’t had many of those moments lately. There’s very little that’s new to give me that oh yes! feeling of accomplishment or discovery. Everything “new” is temporary, shallow, and gimmicky. Getting 16/16 for a LS meta just isnt’ oh yes! worthy. It’s usually oh finally!

It’s a personal opinion, but I’m just so against things like player housing and farms and fishing in a game like GW2. Just because it’s a Living World doesn’t mean we have to do all the menial things in the world. I’m supposed to be a hero, a slayer of beasts, defender of Tyria, commander of the Pact…and I’m going to manage a farm??!? I don’t want to be a shop keeper or farmer or zookeeper or fisherman. Am I retired? What’s next? Laundering my armor? Vacuuming my player housing? Entertaining small parties with hors d’oeuvres?
Personalization of the Home Instance is fine, if it shows my progression as a hero. But I don’t want to manage shops or go to market. That’s not what this game is about to me.
As for Player Initiated Events (PIE), I’m all for it. But I’d rather them be adventure based rather than defending a market-bound cart of radishes I grew. Can’t I challenge new hunters to a great hunt? Or spread the tale of a lurking evil in a cave? Or challenge others to a contest of _.
