Not 100% safe but it’s still quite reliable. The sheer righteousness some people in this thread are vomiting out of their keyboards trying to claim how the dungeon was intended is kind of nauseous to read though.
Feel free to point out the pve balance changes then? You know, because flanking strike/larcenous strike are used heavily in pve, the exclusive PvP changes to whirling axe, the choking gas change which thieves use all the time in pve and the might on axe attacks is clearly going to push rangers in to the pve meta. Sure, the changes suck, but don’t fool yourself in to thinking anet don’t balance around PvP, they almost exclusively balance around it, with complete disregard to whether the changes will be detrimental to pve because they quite simply don’t care about it.
this thread is literally just mad queen frothing at the mouth and a bunch of handlers trying to put her down.
move on everyone, let her froth in peace.
Perhaps because it’s an issue that is important to them, and just as, over the past three years— we saw post after post of people wishing for some sort of feedback/solution to the “condition problem,” (some) people would enjoy hearing and/or seeing something from Arena Net that clarifies their stance and/or activities regarding this subject.
The problem is, their solutions can be found in literally any other MMO in the market. GW2 is not “that other MMO”, so why shoehorn standard MMO combat principles in to GW2? Why are these people even playing this game if they want designated roles in a game specifically designed to not have them?
I got bored of this game, so guess what I did? I stopped playing and went off to play games I enjoy.
What I did not do, is constantly rant about how the game is boring/bad/dull/repetitive/etc. etc. and hope to the beings above that ANet would answer my pleas.
Heaven forbid people come to the forums to discuss what’s important to them. Oh! And I also forgot the part in the EULA where it’s stated that all player’s must read every single post, wether their interested in seeing it’s content or not.
But it’s not discussion. It’s two uncompromising vocal sides shouting past each other. Literally go and read every single thread in the past … year? about “build diversity”, “the meta”, and “zerker gear”. You will get the same culprits in every single thread spewing bile at each other. It’s tedious, it’s boring, and quite frankly I just don’t care for it, and I doubt many people on here enjoy posting or replying in them that much when the topic has been beaten to death.
Given that the OP began this discussion by talking about fractals and that I stated specifically that the Zerker stat was optimal in PvE, I assumed it was relatively clear that we were discussing this subject from a PvE standpoint. But then I suppose it is significantly easier to point at the other game modes and say “see, everything is just fine,” and pretend that those game types somehow impact PvE than it is to actually talk to people. ^.^
And here is the thing, people confuse optimal and viable. You can use anything in PvE, but like every single video game ever made in existence, there is always an optimal solution, or optimal solutions. In this case it’s offensive gear paired up with an offensive support build (if someone has the gall to tell me a guardian traiting for extra effects on virtue usage is “just DPS” I will honestly just cry).
And then in PvP, you have optimal builds. PvP just happens to instead involve celestial which the tiny PvP community incessantly moans about just as much as PvE’ers on here moan about berserker gear.
I thought this kind of complaining was exclusive to the GW2 community, but when I started playing league, and visited their boards, the reddit, etc. I noticed they had exactly the same complaints about stagnant metas. It’s like no matter where you go or what game you play, you will always have babies throwing their toys out of their pram wanting things to change and they will whine and complain either until it happens, or just whine and complain to infinity. And then when the LoL meta shifts, you get a whole new bunch of people complaining about the new meta. Do the same in GW2, and you will get exactly the same thing with people playing suboptimal builds which aren’t accepted and wanting to be accepted. It’s a never ending cycle, and if people would realise that the forums would be so much more pleasant.
When I was playing often (6 months ago or so), I got to the point where pugs were more fun. DnT runs were great of course, and I ran with other forum regulars fairly often. But those runs were so fast and mechanical, they had no feeling of danger, there was no chance of death. Pugging in Arah is more dangerous than solo. It’s fun trying to keep them all alive on skips. They also act as adds for lupi, giving him grubs and making him do undesirable things and the like.
Nobody ever agrees with me when I say pugging is the true test of skill.
Just think, you have an entire dungeon full of four uncontrollable variables, and depending on RNG they can either be helpful or completely detrimental.
Like, soloing is literally easier than pugging because you have control of basically everything.
GS#5= aoe Lb ranger #4 which may cause insta kick in some groups
More likely they will try to blame a ranger for it even if there aren’t any in the group or nearby then login to the forum to complain about longbow.
It is a shame that they didn’t put the effort into designing more content that stack and spank isn’t the ‘best’ option
because tank and spank in all the other games is far more interesting amirite
Or how about we don’t give him 7 million HP because the whole point of berserker gear is that you sacrifice defense for offense and as a result you deserve to kill stuff faster.
I can be certain that when a level designer makes a level, he does not account stacking to be one of the many ways of completing his challenge.
No, actually you can’t be sure. I can quite easily say that due to no collision detection, stacking closely together was taken in to account. So besides your possibly incorrect assumption, how do you know what anet intended?
gw2 pvp is superior to its competition, despite the shortcomings.
LOL
lol, “you shouldn’t be able to reflect a boss period”?
you for real mate?
Changing something which oppressively dominates the meta isn’t meaningful? I say good riddance.
…I’m just gonna go ahead and leave this here.

Just saying, the vast majority of the attire that’s available on this game is what I’d expect to see on strippers. I really am baffled how you think otherwise. :P
lol.
gw2 is like a nunnery, it’s not stripperific at all.
Trait doesn’t add x% damage to my ’zerker build.
Must be worthless.
Can’t have a guild wars 2 discussion thread without completely random and pointless references to berserker stats and offensive builds, can we? 0/10 at least try to be original next time
It seems like it’s doable, since in Tera you can make child characters. The difference is, they have long animal-like ears. In the Korean version, they can even wear skimpy armor. So it’s not like it’s not allowed.
I could make one with an Asura, but they are ugly.
That Tera race is bloody creepy. And the skimpy outfits on them even more so. I would hope to god Anet never creates something like that in this game.
you do know they censored elins on the western client, right?
to answer the OP, I highly doubt it would ever happen since the asura pretty much cover the “short, dwarf/gnome-like race” and “cute child race” category of MMOs in one.
In CoE, I even use scepter just because meteorlogicus looks awesome on my toon, but Confusing Images hits 15k sometimes
and then you remember that confusing images actually has a long cast time
and this guy is a teacher in the mesmer guild, oh my lord.
You realise that literally every MMO ever has some sort of speed clear or world first community, right?
I would love for this to happen but I believe the chances are very slim.
Here’s why I think so:
1.) No dungeon team. Rest in Peace lord Robert Hrouda, our one and only saviour. May he be blessed and revered by his venus fly trap collection.
2.) What’s there to gain from this? Atm Anet’s determined to put most resources into Living story. Why? Because it drives cash shop sales. So much so that they don’t even feel the need to make an expansion. What they are running right now is a very profitable business.
3.) We who care/want this are the minority.
If anything, I think we’re more likely to get some crappy spin off dungeon that’s attached to the living story, is filled with kitten NPC dialogue, unskippable cutscenes and NPC reliant fights and ending with a reward so abysmal it doesn’t warrant repeating ever again. if anything
-GMB.
Exactly this. Teamwork is not blasting your buddy’s fire field – you can screw that up and maybe the fight takes 20 seconds longer. Teamwork is something that if you fail at, your entire party fails. GW2 does have much teamwork at all… only forces via the environment (i.e. two people stand on a pressure plate).
Actually it is teamwork, you’re working together to create a result not possible with one person (extra might blasts).
What you’re asking for is forced reliance on one another, or in other words, a trinity. GW2 is not that game.
Why are you playing?
NOTE – IT IS STILL BAD
