Just a one day ban from this hugbox? Slacker.
No! plz dont let the orbs affect stats! I dont care about Wxp or Karma, but dont let it affect other stats!
The fact you don’t care about karma and WXP is precisely why they went for a stat buff. If you don’t care about the buff, you won’t fight over the buff.
People will fight because fighting is fun. :-)
Plague stomp, hooooo.
the fact that so many people on this thread have stated that they agree with OP and that devon gives a flat out “No.” is actually sickening
If you want the buff to make an impact on WvW warfare in general, why not make it so you take 15% less damage from siege for each 3 capture points you control? Siege Wars are bad enough with tons of people hiding inside their keeps and towers rather than coming out to fight. Plus, it would make these points very valuable to take before attacking the more important objectives, like well defended fortified keeps.
The stat boost, while controversial, is there to give the buff meaning in the context of the general WvW battle. Providing boosts like %WXP, etc. don’t have impact in fights against other sides, they are just a nice bonus for you. The stat boost and the points for finishing players mean that not only do you want to have the buff, but you don’t want your opponents to have it.
By “controversial” do you mean “universally opposed”?
Unkitteningbelievable
No
And I don’t GVG!
No. That is not a possibility at this time. The point of the buff is to affect the WvW game mode as a whole disabling it on your character would lessen the value of the buff to a server and completely invalidate the whole point.
The point is to keep GvG alive. If the new orb system kills GvG (and it might) WvW as a whole will begin to slowly crumble.
I actually want to win a fight because my skills and not because a silly buff,
phuk my, right?
And i’m not talking about GVG, just to be clear.

Adding a GvG arena would not be a win-win. It would still leave a godawful stat buff in WvW. Please get rid of the stat buff.
Dear, ArenaNet,
Please add a GvG arena, separate the two game modes from one another (GvG and WvWvW), and be done with it. Win-win for everyone.
Thank you.
hell NO
the cap points and terrain additions look awesome but the stat bonus RUINS it.

The bloodlust buff doesn’t promote smart play. It rewards Blob game play, which is just lazy. Smarter map buff reward would be some +% to yak supply, +% building speed, +% repair speed, etc…so as not to give lazy advantage to blob field fights.
Another thing is to also make the center holding points reward different buffs depending on what is being controlled. Thus it’s not an all or nothing for the less populated servers.
Edit:
After reading other input, swap variation with outnumbered and bloodlust would be a solid solution. I play on a server winning it’s tier, and it’s no fun when the other servers stop playing by monday.

For those of us that truly love the game type that is WvW we just have to keep offering good feedback and make the community voice immutable.
I think this update is proof that the community’s voice means nothing to anet.
Kills the only good game mode in this joke GW2 has become.
GvG deathmatch.
PvP conquest mode with limited stats from amulet is the lowest skill cap I have ever seen in a MMO.
WvW zergers dont need stat boost they would be better served with WXP or Karma boosts
I’m very curious to hear how the upcoming WvW changes is effecting everyone’s server? Good or Bad?
On mine people are transferring to others in masses.
Can’t imagine why people would want to give ANet any more money. If it means anything, Maguuma has coined the term “Orbageddon” for the upcoming Borderland changes. Bye bye player communities and GVG, and hello to skill lag, long queues, and mindless zerging.
Well, I think it’s safe to say this is the end of the road for many. ANet is mucking this game up way too much for it to be enjoyable. What was once a revolving door when it came to endgame is suddenly becoming a one-way exit.
