Do any of you think it would be a good idea if certain triggered marks/scepter effect would stay longer on the ground, even if a trait choice is needed?
If the first runner of a zerg triggers your mark of blood/Chillbains, he’s the only one getting the effect. Instead of chilling 5 peoples, you only get the first one. So instead of using it as trap to be effective, you gotta stay in range and drop it on top for maximum effectivness.
A spell like those necro in TA, where Scepter #2 sticks on the ground for 5 sec, reapplying bleed and cripple to anyone in the area, is a fun ability and is devastating if you stay in it. Chillbain, instead of just a poison field, could stay 3-5 sec as a Ice field to chill people going through it. People would need to actually evade marks, right now they just trigger them( or even evade-trigger them, which waste all the mark’ AoE potential), run through and cleanse.
Been watching the ele video, and IMO what makes them better for AoE against zerg is the fact that it sticks for a while, really denying a place.
It is not to replace Wells, but to add even more Area Denial in a spec where wells are not really used.
I think the staff/scepter as a whole would bring more meaningful area denial.

I like this idea just because if you don’t trigger a mark by casting it right on someone it is basically wasted as you can dodge trigger it with no consequence.
if not this then something needs to be done
maybe greater marks include undodgeable a well as unblockable.
perhaps allow players to dodge the direct damage but still apply the conditions

Do you die now if your in an Ele’s AoE ? Don’t stand in the AoE, it really is that simple.

I agree with the OP. Everyone is so afraid that they will be killed by a small group, your zerg has AoE’s as well, use them, there is no reason zergs should die to a small group ever.
Any zerg will have the capability of a small group and then some. The small group wiping a zerg is a rediculous argument, it just goes to show that even zerglings think they are terrible at the game.
The blobs are getting ridiculous, this kind of gameplay isn’t fun, what is the point of combo fields and all that if people can just zerg up and stomp everyone?

What’s funny are the people who think all duelers do is duel. A lot of them duo, run 5s, and run 10-15s as well. They are, generally speaking, very well-rounded players who have very good game knowledge when it comes to class abilities and combinations.
What they might not have the best knowledge of are the best siege and countersiege placement locations. But, they don’t give a crap about siege other than using it in the open field to flip the odds when outnumbered or using it on a tower or keep to try to get people out in the field instead of hiding behind walls.
It is far more likely for someone good at small scale combat to join a larger group and do well when compared to someone who only does large scale combat to leave his group and fight solo or duo.
All you have to look at are the numerous T1 zergball videos that have been posted by some of the best where the player doesn’t use all of their abilities and even worse not only mouseclicks their utilities but their WEAPON SKILLS. You might be able to get away with that when you have safety in numbers but if you go to solo or duo like that you will be quickly exposed and embarrassed.
What I have stated above is what is commonly referred to as “the truth.” Argue all you want against it but it will still remain “the truth.”

I like the zergers talking about important, meaningful contributions to wvw to accomplish real goals. And what are they accomplishing? Making a meaningless number that resets every week go up. Keep up the good work guys.

This one is pretty simple, everything should have some means of a counter and atm stealth finishers have none so unless ArenaNet is willing to add a new downed skill to all classes to prevent thieves from finishing you off with impudence then they need to remove this. Thieves shouldn’t be the only class that can negate all other classes downed abilities simply because they have one ability that trumps all others.

You can’t do anything if a Mesmer stealth stomps you either. You’re really screwed if they time warp their entire team to haste stomp you. You’re also screwed if they mass invis their team and stomp you.
You can’t do anything if an Engi happens to get stealth and stomps you either. You can’t do anything if they get stability instead and stomp you. You cant do anything if they pop Elixer S and stomp you.
You can’t do anything if a Guardian pops “Stand Your Ground!” and stomps you either… Hell, I could pop Virtue of Courage, grant Aegis to myself and allies, and we can all stomp you at the same time. Regardless of your counter.
And that’s just a couple of the classes. We could go on about Mist Form, etc. But no. Let’s just direct our hate at thieves. In which, if I’m on my Thief, I’ll just pop Signet of Shadows before your hammer, aoe shield, aoe daze, etc goes off. Or Shadowstep off to the side, wait for the knockback, hammer, grappling line, etc, and Shadow Return back causing you to miss anyways.
The point is, if someone skilled/smart enough to counter wants to stomp you, well you’re just gonna get stomped. Now let’s stop all of the hate directed just at thieves, shall we? 
PS: Black Powder always works great for stomping. Watching every little downed attack miss makes me chuckle. xD
