And on top of that, when comes to Outmanned Anet stance is “We want to keep them useless so you don’t get blamed for being the guy that makes outmanned go away”.
But giving 150+ at all stats on larger server is totally ok.
Seriously.
Most used: Guard/Mes/War/Nec/Ele.
Yes, i use 5 chars at time. Because REASONS.
Changing the stacking stat buffs was already requested for removal, but you know Anet knows best.
+150 power/vitality/crit/healing power/etc cannot possibly be unbalancing if everybody on your server has it.
All you need is the most coverage, and you can faceroll the other servers.
Perhaps Anet might consider having a public test server.

This is the reasons orbs were removed in the first place, I don’t understand why they are back.
Unbalanced matchups will snowball even more…
Being a “small scale” roamer myself, this addition to WvW is disheartening and demoralizing.
I’m sure it’s going to be a blast for Seafarer’s rest, but please think of the servers that struggle against odds and zergs every day.
Meh. I don’t disagree on any particular point, but it’s been said over and over. They clearly expect something wondrous to happen here, and it’s too late to prevent it, so right now all we can do is let it play out and hope that if it does fail they’ll be willing to take the stat buffs out again.
Wow what a terrible idea.
Reward the server with the most coverage/players with extra power.
I just can’t see the thinking behind it.
RIP WvW
i was playing this game only for WvW, you ruined WvW with this new patch
@toymachine if you login 5 mins after update to find strongest server to got the server cus they own the center on all maps…
they just made a hard fight an impossible one…
Agree with the above,
they took the balance out,and not just a little bit, they wrecked it.
server with the most players wins, end off story
I really thought there was nothing the Devs could do that would really make me hate them… boy was I wrong :/ the patch has been up for no more than 30 min, like you say. Baruch is rolling over all of us with zergs, groups of 5, groups of 10, groups of 3, all with +150 to all stats. kittening great. It takes15 of us to kill 3 of them.

Funny how the imbalancing nature of it was one of the major issues around getting rid of the orbs when Habib was here but is not an issue at all now.
Also note how they regard live WvW as a testing ground now.

I really want to know what Anet wants to do with WvW. How do they picture it in their heads? Whats the plan here? For example why should there even be a buff?
If you want a vision of the future of WvW, imagine a boot stamping on an outmanned server’s face — forever.

Scrolling through this thread. I see
NOOOOOOOO
Then I see anets post: NANANA I CANT HEAR YOU WERE PROCEEDING REGARDLESS OF WHAT YOU SAY!!
Then more NOOOOO.
Lolanet.
Until Hugh Norfolk stumbles across this problem in one of his “PvD with 60 other ppl” sessions and says “Oh THAT’S what they meant by snowballing, they were too vague in their reports I like pandas and tea #yolo” this problem won’t be looked at, and even then it will only be fixed 2 months later
We are obviously delusional in saying that this will (re)create a problem, but Hugh Norfolk is a genious (you can still pass through that gate… but that’s a minor problem) so his opinion matters more than the word of many experinced WvWers

Thiefs should be nerfed in wvw, or disabled even, they threaten the ‘integrity’ of wvw.
It’s silly to think that thieves are the problem here. ArenaNet doesn’t, can’t, and won’t think about the impact on singular classes and mechanics. They can’t/won’t even think about the “big picture” of how this will destroy the gametype (again), so what makes you think they’re going to take the time to look at the micro?
The problem here is ArenaNet.
To modify a rather iconic movie quote. “ArenaNet, stop trying to make sPvP happen. It’s not going to happen.”
The fact that they’d become SO desperate to make a broken and unpopular gametype work that they would intentionally utterly destroy another gametype….really makes me wonder how inside-out and upside-down the brains are of the people running the show at ANet.
What they’re gonna get? Fewer players. Players aren’t going to migrate to sPvP (people hate it. Get with the program.). Players are going to migrate to entirely different games.

My prediction T1 servers 2000+ glicko, all below 1800 or lower glicko. It’s gonna make the gap bigger. Wich will proof EVERYONE on the forum is right, and all the wvw devs are wrong, no matter how good their intentions are (wich I appreciate). But wrong is wrong. And not admitting major mistake is even more wrong. I rather have you guys not update wvw ever, then to keep on making mistakes. Don’t pressure yourself continuously ‘but we must update’, or we will loose wvw players. Perhaps that’s tru, but boredom kills every game eventually. Making big decission mistakes, however will make you loose a lot of players in short time, and that’s even worse.
15x thief ganking the shrines from one server = win. No other profession can even come close to that ganking potential. And the blood buff, buffs exactly THIS profession the most. Wrong. Thiefs should be nerfed in wvw, or disabled even, they threaten the ‘integrity’ of wvw.
No excuse anymore for not giving ‘hide mounts’-option
No thanks to unidentified weapons.
It’s ridiculous skills like backstab get even stronger. This shouldn’t be.

I won’t be updating the vote again. It seems to be quite clear what the consensus of the WvW Community is. This vote only indicates the active forums members opinion of the buff. However one thing that should be considered by Anet is that anyone who has such an interest in WvW that they spend their time when not playing it on the forums really have a vested interest.
My personal opinion of the buff is that it will be extremely detrimental to the game. Unfortunately it will give the larger servers an unfair advantage. Before my time in WvW stat buffs were trialled and failed due to the imbalance caused in favour of the stronger servers. Just because you change the mechanic by which they are received doesn’t negate the problems that they cause.
This will also ruin a thriving community of Guild vs Guild players. Whatever your opinion is of the people who are active in this community both the players and Anet should understand that they are WvW players as well. They don’t GvG all the time and spend most of their active game time in WvW.
The real way to discourage blobbing is to introduce new maps and lower the player caps on each as this will cause the blobs to spread out. However this will not fix the problems with the match ups as the server with the most numbers will most likely always win.
That being said though I play on Ring of Fire. As WvW communities go we are quite small but tight knit. Basically every week recently we have had some pretty poor match ups. Caring about the PPT is pointless. What keeps us playing WvW is the skill involved when we fight. Meeting blobs in open field combat and taking them down even when facing 2 or 3 times our numbers. When the fights become tipped even more in our adversaries favour this will be ruined.
What really needs to happen is the developer’s need to create some test servers for WvW. This would allow their ideas to be properly tested prior to being implemented into the game. Getting real feedback from players on what works and what doesn’t. Otherwise how can the developer’s truly know what sort of effect anything will have on the balance of their game.

One thing I think we would all really appreciate is the ability to save trait sets, like how we could save builds in GW1. It would make it so much easier to switch between builds and will encourage people to try out new builds. Additionally, I don’t think we should have to pay to change our traits. I think we should just be able to load a new trait set when we are out of combat.
Ranger
I want to put away my pet permamently. Because it´s annoying in jumping puzzles and a hintrance.
In the great Ranger vs Thief: Who has been nerfed more debate I will just post these facts here
Ranger Shortbow auto attack speed was nerfed because Anet didn’t like the animation and no damage increase was given to keep dps the same.
Ranger SB range was decreased to bring it in line with thief Shrotbow while nothing has been done about Warrior Rifle, Mesmer Greatsword, Guardian Spear, Necro Axe, Elementalist dagger all having bigger ranges then other classes versions of those weapons.
All Ranger specs across all game modes got massive damage nerf when they nerfed pets to weaken the least sturdiest pvp bunker build.
As i already stated in my ranger forum. the ranger “stealth reveal” is only beneficial in large groups and zerges, other than that, it’s useless.
To all thieves, did you know we are 2 times vulnerable without our suicidal 1-3 kill pets?
> So what if our pets can reveal you
>They nerfed our Pet leach range
>They nerfed our Pet hp
>They nerfed our Pet damage output
>Our pets swapping have cooldowns
> You kill our pets
>We Rangers are 2x more likely to die without them
>You kill us with 1-4 14k+ back stabbs+heatseeker (as usual)
>You win (as always)
So again,
Where is the threat,
Thieves?

Keep buffing warriors developers! You’re definitely going in the right direction towards balancing the game!
Warrior
Good changes! Condi damage warriors are finally good, Damage dealing and also CC Warriors are in a good place as well, you are buffing just where they need buffing, defensive support.
As you already claimed, they are in a pretty decent place in all formats of the game currently.
You’ve been doing a great job with Warriors as a whole lately, maybe tuning down a little bit of their regen sustain while providing high damage and CC would be good too (which is all cumulative right now), but so far so good.
Guardian
Focusing on Consecrations is a good move, some of them like Consecrated Ground and Purging flames were uderused, improving or reworking underused or underpowered skills is a good move most of the time, all things considered.
With that said, it’s nice to have Instant Meditations without traits finally, but I’m not so sure about adding more damage to Meditation builds is what these DPS Guardian builds actually need to gain more viability. These guardian types, unless carrying reliable swiftness or Greatsowrd are just a sitting duck with relatively poor condition protection and little to no soft CC to avoid kites, it also has no disengage nor roaming capabilities. It sorely needs field movement/roaming. Maybe making Merciful intervention ground targeted would be a good move, with the huge CD it would still be balanced, the skill would see more use and would be more reliable, it would also provide clutch disengage and a small boost to field movement out of combat. (You already know my other suggestions in this regard Jonathan
).
Improving mobility through weapon skills and utilities should be a good move. Fury, outside of providing a little more flexibility in gear choises or added damage, it does very little to improve the lacking perks that are holding down DPS Guardians in my opinion.
Ranger
I always said it, and I will always say it, improving and buffing pets directly buffs all possible Ranger builds. So buffing the main class mechanic is the smartest move to improve build diversity as pets can grant from support, to CC or even respectable damage/burst damage.
Concerning the Sick’Em change, I hope it’s just like how you’ve been doing with the Torment condition, slowly adding the revealed debuff to other skills from other professions. Stealth is a mechanic in serious need of a counter right now; a single skill from a single profession wont suffice, but it’s a good starting point to see how it does.
I also agree some Ranger weapon skills need some improvements or overall changes, Sword chain #1 comes to mind.
Thief
Venomous Aura allways had a lot of (mostly offensive) potential support. I always liked how traited venoms can heal, thus providing some help for the thief picking up venoms himself (Leeching Venoms). Said heals could also be improved, at least for the thief him/herself to make those venoms a more desirable choise for the thief. Now concerning defensive support, I think thieves have a lot of potential in terms of boon share, like Mesmers, but not quite, it would be from traits (trickery line?) and steal rather than utility skills.
Now with the Pistol, quite evidently, the better candidate for a rework is the infamous Body Shot. I suggested several months ago for it to be changed into a finisher, being it leap or a blast. A blast would definetly be more supportive, it would also raise P/P viability while comboing it with Black Powder providing the set that much needed escape option.
continues…
Ranger changes look cool, but I still miss 1 very important thing: Longbow users have to choose 2 of 3 Marksman traits (Piercing Arrows, Eagle EyE, Remorseless). No other weapon has such problem – when you want to spec fully into weapon, you always can pick all related traits. I think it’s REALLY needed to either merge 2 of those traits, or move one of them to 1 tier so we can pick them all.
