Quaggan are so irritating; weak and obnoxious sea slugs. Even if the writers sacrificed them all as dragon-chow in the plot, I don’t think many tears would be shed.

“Not like” is a complete understatement. Quaggans are the worst things designs since the berlin wall. I hoped and prayed to the six gods they would never be incorporated in the story. Looks like ill have to start praying to rodgort if i want some results.

What a bizarre comparison. Quaggans are a cutesy race in a fantasy game; the Berlin wall was a tool used by a RL repressive regime to keep people from escaping to a less hostile environment.

Quaggans are from a biological, evolutionary and design point of view complete random mishaps that shouldnt be able to survive in any world. Theyre ugly, theyre annoying, and as a biologist i. An say theres nothing about their survival skills thats slightly optimal. Clearly magic has kept them alive because the chaina of evolution wouldve eradicated them by now

I’m curious, oh great biologist, what about them would impair their survival? Their ability to swim well and breath underwater as well as on land, survive in arctic temperatures, opposable thumbs, ability to construct and use weapons and buildings? An ability to actually alter their physical shape, reducing their size rather significantly. These seem like useful evolutionary qualities.

Okay, I’ll concede that opposable thumbs and the knowledge to wield weapons compensate for their biological failures.

As for the biological failures:
1) Their physical form is not made for swimming, despite being an aquatic species. In their forms they would requrie tremendous amounts of energy to stay afloat, and not sink to the bottom oor float helplessly, depending on their body density. (a quick look at their limbs also tell you they’re not made for swimming)

2) Society: they have a useless means of survival, HOWEVER the use of this means is considered taboo, and they lose all hope of ever procreating. They live in a society where the survivors aren’t allowed to breed. Thats like a kick in Darwin’s skritt-bags.

Their cutesy form is basically an anthropomorphic manatee. Manatees seem to survive just fine on their own, when people aren’t murdering them with motor boats.

I don’t know what you’re talking about with the procreation though. There are plenty of instances of Quaggan children, so obviously breeding is occurring.

An orca can swim just fine. A quaggan lacks all of that design, it’s literally a ball with an orca or manatee skin pattern. When was the last time you saw a ball gliding through water without resistance?

As for the children: those are the children of the quaggans who don’t use their power-mode. If a quaggan uses his power-mode, the others will view him as corrupt or inferior, and wont breed with him anymore.

I accept your ideas surrounding the Orca quaggan. That’s not what quaggan look like. They look like the things that exist in every quaggan village in Tyria, until this one was made. Those things really shouldn’t be able to swim well, hunt or even move easily.

As for culture, it isn’t a matter of “power” it’s a matter of giving in to their base aggression. It is literally a race of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hydes. You don’t admire Dr Jekyll for giving in and becoming Mr Hyde, you recognize that Mr Hyde is a monster, and therefore so is Dr Jekyll for actively allowing himself to become that.

Finish resolving unfinished HoT plot holes.

Actually, OP, you failed to mention any plot holes. You only mentioned things that haven’t yet been told. A plot hole would be that something happened in the story, as a consequence of something that hasn’t been told, or simply wasn’t accurate with that which was already established in the story. So until either of those happen, there’s no plot holes, whatever you’re so eager to find out, will come sooner or later. Just that none of what you mentioned is relevant to the current story. But it will all take part of it in the future, Nightmare Court, Pale Tree, Logan, Zojja, all will be told when it’s relevant to the current events. Also, nobody gives a penny about Trahearne, he was a worthless character, who was named leader of the Pact for no good reason, who never fought anyone (we did everything for him), voice acting was one of the worse in the game, and was absolutely pathetic. He got the death he deserved, slow, meaningless, and irrelevant to the story (which is why nobody mourns him or talks about him in the game).

Hamfast where are your eyes? Im a little more than scurred.

Y’know the thing about an Asura, he’s got… lifeless eyes, black eyes, like a doll’s eyes. When he comes at ya, doesn’t seem to be livin’… until he bites ya. And those black eyes roll over white, and then… oh, then you hear that terrible high-pitch screamin’, the ocean turns red, and spite of all the poundin’ and the hollerin’, they all come in and they… rip you to pieces.

(Sorry – I’m still caught up in Halloween a little I suppose).

EDIT: I have eyes – see picture below. Just nothing reflecting in them in the first picture.

You can actually AFK through the rooms and let the NPCs kill everything. You do need to interact at certain parts however to get them moving. It takes them like 5 minutes or so to kill the groups themselves, so something like 20-25 minutes. For comparison, as a zerker ele, the groups only take a minute or two.

I doubt they’ll bother adding a retry mote considering they never went back and redid season 2, and these achievements are trivial compared to that. Grouping up to cheat it is the alternative.

I’m surprised that during the time of Wintersday you don’t see snow falling in parts of eastern Kryta and NW Ascalon close to the Shiverpeaks. I know Gendarran Fields has some but it would be interesting to see that increase further west on the map at times. Light snow with some dusting of areas of LA would be interesting.

Ho-Ho-Tron vs. Marcello was a great moment in GW2 history. Yet, all those Thing-O-Tron are an absolute pain indeed.

They’re talking all the time and are note remotely fun at all. Moreover, the french voice for them is catastrophic.

I totally endorse a way to shut other characters noisy devices up.

PLEASE, ANET!

The time is long overdue to give us control over sound effects originating from other players’ equipped items.

The Replica Job-O-Tron backpack is the fingernails on the chalkboard of my sanity. It has gotten to the point where whenever I hear that infernal voice (apologies to Yuri Lowenthal), I just have to leave the area. I feel like ANet itself is trolling me, trying to get my dander up. Well it’s working. I actually left in the middle of a Boss fight the other night, forgoing any reward just because that thing wouldn’t shut up. It has really become that annoying to me.

Don’t get me wrong. I know some people enjoy it. I am not trying to take anything away from them. I just want the ability to put on some noise-cancelling headphones with regard to other peoples’ sound effects. This includes lots of mini pets (nearly all SAB pets, the Ho-Ho-Tron constant jingling, etc.)

You already gave us the ability to control the volume of other players’ musical instruments, since they were being used as trolling devices. Bravo! Now take it a step further and finish the task by letting us adjust the other troll-like noises emanating from other characters’ equipped items. (Some players do jump around with the obvious intent of making their backpack chatter as much as possible. This is, in some cases, deliberate trolling).

But don’t stop there! After you have given us control over other peoples’ sound effects, then RETURN all the noises that have been removed. I want to hear my mini golems clanking footsteps again. I want to hear all their “beeps” and “boops”. I want to hear my mini Princess Doll scream in anguish when I jump off a cliff. I want to hear my riding broom’s “jet airplane” sound without it dying slowly away. The list goes on.
__________

TL/DR: Give us the ability to adjust the perceived level of other players’ equipped-item sound effects, and return all the sound effects that have been removed already (presumably in a quick-fix, band-aid effort to reduce other perceived sound pollution problems).

Make this your New Year’s Resolution.

Lord Faren Speedo Outfit – basically just your own character in a pair of Lord Faren’s Speedo’s.

Death Shroud Aura Infusion (see 1st pic). Black shadowy mist flows from your character – exactly like the necromancer’s death shroud. This infusion wouldn’t have any stats, it would just be purely cosmetic.

Dhuum’s Soul Reaper (see 2nd pic) as a greatsword skin. Yeah yeah, I know, it might look weird, but you know it would be amazing as a greatsword – especially for necromancers. Anet might have to make changes to the way the animations work though (for example, the Daredevil holds staves like you would a scythe, so surely this dhuum’s soul reaper scythe skin could work for greatswords?).

Dhuum’s armor set (see 3rd pic – and ignore his scythe, as it should be sold separately) – this would unlock a set of light armor skins so you could mix and match your armor. This could really be a great addition to the Dhuum’s soul reaper skin. I would imagine plenty of gemstore sales with this armor and his scythe skin. It would be cool to have the glowy green heart dyeable too, so you could have it, say, blue, for a guardian, or green for a necro, or pink/purple for mesmer, etc.

Dear all,

First of all not sure where exactly to post this.
World bosses in Gw2 have always been a part of the immersion for me they bring the world to live and are unique in it’s kind compared to other mmo’s.

My question is then as well will we get new world bosses such as Claw of Jormag, Tequila and etc? Will also the older bosses be revamped, the things they did with the Shatterer is great and I think some of the other bosses could use the same love.

What could be a potential new world boss? a Claw of Jormag version for the fire dragon?

I do want to thank the dev team for the work they did this year and continue doing so.
Keep up the good work, you folks should be proud of yourselfs

Best regards,
Halbarz

Also, body types might be another problem for new armor sets development.

I dont understand why people think “but it’s more work” is an excuse for anet to not do something they are definitely capable of.

I don’t understand why people thing “but it’s more work” isn’t an explanation of why it isn’t financially viable.

It’s never a question of “capability” — it’s a question of whether the effort (design, test, implement, maintain) is enough for the benefit (gems sold for RL monies, player satisfaction that translates into more sales & more players) as mitigated by the risk (bugs, clipping, players having tons of different aesthetic preferences, so that as a group, we’re rarely satisfied).

There are a gazillion ideas, millions of good ones, but only a limited number that are ‘viable’ in this sense. And even then, ANet still has to choose, since they will never have the resources to implement every good idea where value is greater than cost.

The problem is that ANet sold the collection of skins as a large part of the end game.

I’m not saying it’s not a lot of work for what may turn out to be bad, I know it is. But they set themselves up for it, it’s reasonable for people to expect them to follow through.

ANet needs to figure out what it will take to get more armor out, then do it. Change the way they make armor? Add more people? Get new software/tools to speed things along? And if it turns out that this is the best they can do, then it’s long past time for them to admit that they’ve run into problems in this area and that from this point forward people need to change their expectations. (And learn from this for future games.)

delicate, brick-like subtlety.

tl;dr I agree that the distinction of weights is less meaningful now, but I doubt very much it would be easy to allow us to mix & match across weights.

Your basing that assumption on non-data, though. I wouldn’t assume that allowing cross weight mixing would be simple or no work at all but I know it’s a restriction built to mitigate clipping. In that respect, 2 possibilities could occur:

1. Don’t allow cross weight armor blending. Anet only has to worry about new sets blending with the past sets, not the past sets blending with themselves.

2. Don’t concern themselves with clipping of past armor at all. As is, armor clips and you mitigate it yourself by just not wearing stuff that clips too bad. So if removing the restriction on armors causes issues with clipping, let it but just make sure it’s not an issue with new gear.

Remember, this is about damage control, not really how meaningful the division of armor currently is or had been in the past.

I’m asking from a damage control stand point but, would you and others consider it alright if we ditch the whole armor weight part of armor creation? Any game mechanics tied to armor (namely the armor stat) could simply be tied to class instead. So rather than creating an armor style then inventing 2 other weight versions of it, you simply make a set of gear specially stylized to look unique from any other armor in the game.

i would prefer that honestly, i hate having skins tied to my class. I get that some developers want everyone to ‘look like their class’ but so far i haven’t been seeing that narrow view going over well with a lot of mmo players who want to look however they want instead of look however they play (plus theres already some armor in each weight that doesn’t fit that anyways). some don’t even force you to keep your greatsword looking like a greatsword and let it be a hammer or staff instead.

Regardless of my opinion on the rate of new armor sets (or whatever skins), I think the game has evolved since launch. Outfits are common now (even if many people never use them), so I don’t think we can say that the game needs the division between the weights.

However, the heavy pieces were designed to work with other heavy skins; it would take a lot of work to get them to work with the other two weights. So I don’t think withdrawing the weight restriction would help much.

tl;dr I agree that the distinction of weights is less meaningful now, but I doubt very much it would be easy to allow us to mix & match across weights.

As much as I’d love to get new armour pieces to play Fashion Wars with, ANet should first focus on fixing existing pieces. By that I mean all the clipping, oversized shoulders (especially on Charr and Norn), and other various problems related to armour. Honestly, for those who play Charr or Asura, fixing clipping issues would greatly expand FW capabilities.

As for my idea for Fashion Wars, it would be great to use all armour weights on all classes. I don’t know much about coding, but this doesn’t sound like a lot of work. However, the cost of Transmutation Charges should be higher, like 2 charges for changing items appearance to a different weight. That perhaps would boost the selling rate of charges and give ANet more resources to create new pieces.
