“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
Please, Anet, for the love of God – narrow the participating area for this Event.
Its absolutely annoying to be in LA during this event. Actual area is even bigger, than the one, which is shown on the Map.
It affects Crafting Stations, TP and many more areas outside the circle( which is waaay bigger than its supposed to be).
Getting knockeddown, while going from point A to point B isnt the biggest problem.
The actual problem is that if you leave your character somewhere around in LA and you come back later, you automatically participated in the event, resulting in not full set of Fragments(3).
And there comes the another bad flow – the Fragment gain is tied to one participation in the event per account , so if you get 1 fragment by unintentional participation, you cant get more during that day…
This resulted in 3 missed Mad Kings Chest for me and maybe more for other people.
I had a conversation with other players and they had the same issue.
Please update the character select screen to allow players to manually sort their characters. I have over twenty slots and many are for a specific purpose. I want to be able to see all of my characters at once so I don’t have to scroll.
UI: Show aftercast delays on skill tooltips. Let’s get rid of occasional need to do timing tests.
With 120 unlocks for 30k I would have everything the chests currently has left to offer me. But I guess for the effort you need to get 30k AP it would be a fair reward.
Let’s be honest, is anyone looking forward to the AP Achievement Chests if they’re not the 5k ones with Gems or the ones with armor skins? The current loot is the following: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Achievement_Chest With bigger ones having more of the same crap. Apart from the Forge stones, there’s nothing really in those chests that makes me goes “wow”. Karma? Badges? Oh, wow, totally not swimming in that. 2-3 WvW consumables? What, did I just play an hour of WvW?
Even the Zenith Skins get dull after the first 5-6 you like/want, and the accountwide bonusses are weird, you get +1 of xp/gold/karma/MF, yet you get +2% gold every month for doing nothing but logging in.
Back when the PvP Wardrobe was added along with the Achievement chests, you got some skins from the chests, which either unlocked skins for PvP/Wardrobe or you could salvage and gamble for more skins. When the Wardrobe was reworked, this feature was removed, sadly.
The proposal is quite simple. Retroactively add Wardrobe Unlock tokens as a reward for the Achievement chests you get every 500 AP instead of the boosters/Gem Store Items. It’ll give players something to look forward to and reward longtime players with some nice skins.
Taking for example 1 for 500, 2 for 1000, 3 for 2500 and 5 from the 5k chests. That’d give you 20 unlocks per 5k points, or 120 unlocks for reaching 30k AP retroactively.
I’ve honestly never noticed it. Sound seems fine to me.
Using 1 slot for tot is very bad imo
When Halloween finish will be used for wintersday gift…
I want chests to give me 3 random items, not 2 random and a item that i can get hundreds and hundreds very easily
That’s my only problem with the chests
EDIT: also hate i need to type the name to delete the chests, i delete chests all the time and now will be annoying to have to type

i have to agree with malediktus here
The way Anet did this here seems really unfair or at least makes no sense
1) They offer Achievement related stuff like the things Malediktus listed which definitly seems wrong
2) Then again they dont offer some of the expensive skins like Rocket backpiece which was never related to any achievement so that is no reason to not include it
And the high price of it can’t be the reason either since they also include stuff like the Mini Karka
Anets behavior here in this case is just full of inconsistencies and that is what bothers me!
simple example:
Why do people who bought a Mini Karka and want a Rocket Backpack dont deserve the reward as a possible unlock while people who bought a Rocket Backpack and want the Mini Karka have a chance to get it ?!
side point:
(i also wonder if stuff like Canach Backpack is even intended to be obtainable by this method since it was never obtainable any other way even though it is added to the game since long time)

Royal Guard Outfit is the best example of few items that should not be possible to get anymore.
According to your own rules of achievements being worthy or not, you did not have the luck, dedication or persistence to get the scarlet items when they were available.
Or maybe you did not play GW2 by then(I know you did, you just had bad luck with RNG probably), but the answer stays the same:
Tough luck. ^^
The thing is all the stuff I listed is still available on the trading post. Anet just discriminated randomly between what gets in and what not and it feels like it is stacked against what I already have unlocked.
Instead of posting random nonsense comments maybe start thinking before posting in future.
The following items should not be unlockable from it:
Royal Guard Outfit (Loyality reward for buying the game before HoT got released)
Mini First Mate Horrik (achievement reward)
Scarlet’s Veil Skin (achievement reward)
Mini Queen Jennah (1st birthday present)
Mini Candy Corn Ghoulemental (achievement reward)
Mini Clockheart (achievement reward)
Things that should be unlockable by it:
Decorative molten jetpack
Monocle
Zephyr Rucksack Skin
Scarlet’s Rainbow
Scarlet’s Kiss
Invisible Boots
post if you find more possible oversights

The ToT bags destroyed key value. I bought 50 to try and will never again.
I think everyone gets that chests are not guaranteed to be awesome every time. I think what people want is a little less kick in the you know what.
I guess it is a matter of perception. I don’t believe that people are getting kicked anywhere.
Anyone who has played this game for any length of time KNOWS how things drop from the BL chests. If someone knows this and buys keys anyway, whose fault is it that they are disappointed when they get exactly what they know will probably drop?
If you keep buying BL keys and expect drops from the chests to be better each time you buy the keys well, that is just…
You know the definition of crazy? Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

The wardrobe unlock is a fantastic idea, and I applaud it making it to the box. I’m frustrated that this is still considered a rare drop, as I’d probably be willing to buy keys if there were a slot that guaranteed an RNG of the following:
- Ticket scraps
- Full Tickets
- Wardrobe Unlocks
- Mini Egg (and none of this account bound garbage…)
And I mean it. One of those in every box. Stop the wildly random foolishness.
Unless I am reading what you are saying here incorrectly, the GWU is actually a common drop.
What I don’t agree with is a “guaranteed” drop like the list you gave above. They might as well put them in the gem shop and sell them individually and not have them in the chest at all.
The chests were not designed to give great stuff all the time. They were made for the purpose of entertainment. If you play the lottery IRL and expect to win, then you almost certainly will be disappointed.
It’s disappointing to see that whoever’s planning these boxes isn’t listening to the community or thinking about giving players good value for their money. It’s downright infuriating that these shoddy RNG boxes even still exist, but mostly that they exist in their form exclusively as an attempt to coax player spending.
Thing is, we’ve said what we would consider buying keys for, and I think an honest polling of the community would do a lot of good, if dev-management listens to it. 100 gems or $1.56 isn’t that much to me, so I’d be willing to pay for gambling boxes, if there were some guarantee of utility. And I don’t mean an access item and a leveling tome. :\
And I sure as kitten don’t mean a single trick or treat bag when they tumble out like Halloween candy. If the seasonal gifts are going to be a thing, they ought to be a small stack, at least 20. Selling that stack for less than a gold offsets the 100 gems or 28-30g it takes to buy a key. (Or rewards a once/week, currently bugged, level 10 key run with.. very little.)

Guys, I really need a Face Slot for skins so I can wear my gem store Cat Ears with gem store Masks. You must find a way.
You do not want to fight 2 bosses at once and you especially do not want to fight 3. If you ignored the advice about skipping the viscount do the other door (if it appears) first as someone will trigger it during the fight. Also The Labyrinthine Horror appears every 20 minutes so keep an eye on the clock.
I actually like fighting the Horror and the Viscount at the same time. In previous years it was virtually impossible, now it’s the only remotely challenging fight you’ll get in the Labyrinth.
Of course I won’t say anything and I’m certainly not going to try and get them up together, but when it does happen I’m excited. Then I spend 1/2 the fight rallying downed players.
I’ve not seen the Horror and the Lich at the same time as often, but apart from lots of downed people if their big AoEs hit at the same time I don’t think it’s really that bad this year.

From the wiki: “At the end of the Sanctum Cay mission, the players learn they are Chosen, and therefore fit to Ascend and earn the gift of True Sight, becoming able to see the Mursaat.”
Not only the Chosen possess high quantities of magic, more importantly they have the potential to become Ascended. Quite a threat for the Mursaat, as prophesied by Glint.
What a better way then than to kill them on the bloodstone? You get to use some powerful souls while at the same time getting rid of a potential threat, two birds with one stone.

In the case of Preservation, I think there are three basic properties of Preservation magic, which conveniently line up fairly well into the three monk attributes:
1) Conversion of ethereal/magical energy into spiritual or life energy. This is a property where, ironically enough, Preservation comes closest to Aggression: Aggression allowed life energy to be manipulated in various ways or converted into magical energy, but generally couldn’t convert magical energy back into life energy. Denial and Destruction both had means of converting ether into life energy, but neither could do so as easily and conveniently as Preservation. This is one of the few functions that has grown weaker in GW2: as other professions have developed their own healing abilities, the ability of preservation to deliver rapid and massive heals has diminished, although it does still exist (Tome/Signet of Courage, and one theory regarding druid is that it involves a significant degree of dabbling into Preservation).
2) Smiting/Holy. My general working theory is that this is essentially concentrating Preservation magic to a degree where it has the potential to be harmful. As an analogy, consider light from the Sun: at normal intensities it helps to nourish plants, but if sufficiently concentrated (such as by a magnifying glass) it can set them alight. Depending on the exact nature of the spell used, this could manifest as beams of energy that resembles light or as blue flames, and such intense concentrations of energy have the potential to start fires or ionise air to create lightning-like phenomena: however, since these spells essentially work by overloading an area with energy, Preservation is unable to manipulate fire or lightning with the efficiency or finesse of Destruction. This function has clearly grown stronger in GW2 – this might be a function of guardians being less scholarly than monks or ritualists (and thus more inclined to just collect as much energy as they can and throw it at their enemies over using it in a more refined capacity to heal their allies), or it could be that with Tyria’s magic having grown stronger, Preservation has become more unruly and it is actually now easier to use it offensively and harder to use it with the finesse required for strong healing without risk overpowering it and killing the subject.
3) Conjuring of barriers and other constructs of magical force. Protection Monks and the like in GW1 typically offered relatively weak barriers that provided limited protection to an ally, but which could linger for extended periods. Guardians nowadays typically produce stronger barriers that can reliably block attacks outright or prevent enemies from crossing, but which are typically short-lived: it’s unclear whether this method is actually stronger, or whether it’s another case of monks having more proficiency and finesse than the typical guardian while guardians are more likely to simply use raw power. Creation of spirit weapons, however, does seem as if it might be a more developed application of this branch (if it’s not simply the summoning of spirits which manifest as weapons, which would fall outside the purview of the four schools entirely and into Mists magic), and where monks used this property exclusively or almost exclusively defensively, guardians have developed more aggressive uses. This property has some overlap with similar effects in Denial, but Preservation has more of it, and some of Denial’s effects could be viewed as effects that happen to have the same in-game mechanical effect as a physical barrier but actually accomplish that effect through other means. (For instance, is a Feedback bubble actually a barrier that reflects attacks in a traditional sense? Or is it a field that causes projectiles within it to reverse their momentum? The fact that Feedback works on projectiles within the bubble regardless of whether they actually cross the bubble suggests it’s not actually a physical barrier but a region of warped reality…)
People don’t hate Scarlet like Game of Thrones fans hate Joffrey.
They hate her the way Star Wars fans hate Jar Jar Binks.
