I don’t know, I thought it was obvious, personally.
customers who purchase
In early January, you will receive your gift based on gems you purchase and gem codes you redeem
Both of those kind of indicate that you buy gems with real money since that’s what purchasing is. Converting gems with gold via the trading post would be converting and not purchasing.
I’m sorry you didn’t get them, though. But hey, they’re nothing special anyway! I have mine and I don’t even know what to do with them.
Every time I look at Guild Wars 2’s graphic
Never before had I seen such beautiful craftsmanship from a western brand. I just can’t help thinking. Our game would be so perfect if it is totally voiced in ???

You have just precisely described my frustration with Blade&Soul.
I hope JP GW2 happens for you guys! Best of luck!

I’ve gotten about 6 to 7 BL keys from mob drops and map completions. They are super rare, and should remain so. If you want more, convert Gold into Gems, and buy them from the Gem Store.
I’m starting to wonder if the hate for the condi meta is less about burst being objectively better and more about the fact that once you’re bursted, it’s over. But once you’re condi stacked, you’re just looking at a hopeless situation that you’re left feeling helpless over.
Since this issue has already been addressed by Martin, I’m going to close this thread. Thanks everyone for sharing your thoughts and opinions about the topic.
As a reminder, here’s the statement about the data-mined image:
We just wanted to respond to the image that has been data-mined from the Edge of the Mists testing branch.
This is a testing branch. We conduct internal experiments for various territories on our testing branches. This particular experiment is not being tested for the West.
As always, keep in mind that we test a lot more than we ship, so data-mining is no guarantee of anything. If we have announcements to make about future content, we’ll make them through the usual official channels.

Weclome to the Profession Balance sub-forum! Here’s a few things to keep in mind when posting on this forum:
Make a good title. This will help us identify how you’re approaching something. Examples: “[PvP][Guardian] Omfgwtfbbq QQ. [PvE][Thief] Suggestions for stealth.[WvW]Why do I keep dying to supply Dolyaks? ”
Be constructive. Discuss, don’t argue.* If you think a change may cause issues, say why and give examples. Try not to argue with others – make your point and then accept that other people may have different points of view.
Give examples: I had 2000 toughness but still got hit by X target for roughly Y damage.
Be concise. Our time is limited and we can’t read walls of text because it will prevent us from having the time to read as many posts as possible. Bullet points or numbered lists are very easy for us to read!
Be specific. “I expect this change to accomplish A, but I think it will actually accomplish B”. The more specific you are, the better we are able to understand where you’re coming from, what type of content you play, and it helps us to understand the context for your feedback.
Be objective. Keep in mind that just because you may not like something, that doesn’t make it bad. Others may have differing opinions. They may play a different type of content, or they may play a different profession, so be objective and keep in mind – we have to balance the game for EVERYONE, not just you.
Be respectful. This goes for your fellow community members as well as for devs. Respect the ideas and opinions of others.
Be mindful of scope. It takes design, development and testing time in order to make a new feature or revise an old one. Keep scope/work/time/resources in mind when you make your suggestions.
Be mindful of context. Power creep is something we’re trying to avoid. Sometimes a profession may not receive as many increases as other classes. A lot of times, this is because that class is already performing very well in the current state of the game. So keep the overall context/state of the game in mind when giving feedback.
We want to hear for your feedback for balance in all areas of the game, and this sub-forum will help the balance team to gather your feedback so that we can collaborate more closely with the community when evaluating balance changes!
Thanks for posting your ideas!!

A suggestion for forum mods: I think “Many Questions so Dev” should have its visibility drastically increased. It’s in a 20 days old sticky, and if I didn’t look at Dev Tracker I probably would’ve missed it.
I’m actually in the middle of writing up a new post for questions. Plus, we’ll have an archive set up so you can always see the past Dolyak Express Q&A.
Why is it called “Many Questions so Dev” if the project itself is called “Dolyak Express”? I guess it’s a joke, but I don’t get it. Also, where do you guys get your questions? I thought there would be a thread for people to ask them. Are they instead just gathered from around the forums at large?
The Many Questions, So Dev was indeed a silly meme joke. It was to announce the program itself as a more informal post, with an added Colin meme!
How is this thread still going on?
We have confirmation (as many of us stated when this was revealed) that it is for the Chinese release of the game, and yet people are still shouting about how much it sucks and how bad ArenaNet are.
I for one would say that you owe them an apology for this whole thread, but then again, who am I kidding?
Suggestion forum was where threads went to die. I don’t think the devs even knew about it. It will be much better for the suggestions to be posted in their own categories so the correct dev will actually see it.

Ive been running with an organized wvw guild for the past 3 months, and what all good guilds realize is the strong team element that must be felt by all the players running in the group. The need to coordinate builds and play your part to form essentially one giant player in a way to smash down zergs and other guilds.
However, in playing as a team its more than just coordinating builds to play specific parts, its coordinating skills. I think the distinct lack of the trinity in this game has lessened the teamwork that could be had. The only replacement ive seen for the trinity are combo fields/finishers. And how players must coordinate to achieve the goal of heals or might. Does anyone know if Anet has plans to expand on the Combo type of idea? It works really great I think and its surprisingly unknown to still a lot of players, unfortunately, especially considering how powerful it is. I think especially as a dedicated pvper that to increase the teamplay in wvw/spvp, there needs to be a large expansion on Combo area of the game. It already works really well but I feel that the waterfied blast, firefield blast has gotten quite stale over the past year that its been used.
Gvg play has remained largely the same because of the lack of diversity that has been added to the pvp section of the game. Any ideas on what could be done to increase the diversity in play? Perhaps more skill types could be created that merge with each other when players use them together. Like certain shouts from different classes coordinate together.
I just Like Guild wars 2 and I’m thankful people made it, so I can have fun playing my/a computer game.
-edited: because some people are right saying I’m generalizing to much-
-edit 2: I just wanted to start something which should have brought out something positive. Wrays is the most positive in this thread. most others just crack down on this one as well. can’t nothing be good?-
-edit 3: No I do not think the fight witrh zhaitan was epic. I frown upon your comment. I also say that even though it was the conclusion of the story line it has been 1 of the bigger letdowns of the game. But it’s only 1 scenario. I’m no thrahearne lover as well. But the game is so much more than the fight with Zhaitan. Your game doesn’t end there. It should just begin.
If people are honestly interested what was posted, look at the breakdown below by Wray. 80-90% of the original post is stil there.
@Wray: I’m proud father of a child, happily married, and I enjoy a lot of things in life. I thank you for your wise breakdown, and I wish you all of the best as well.
23 lvl 80’s, 9 times map, 4ele, 4ncr, 3war, 3grd, 3rgr, 2thf, 2msm, 1eng, 1 rev.
Been There, Done That & Will do it again…except maybe world completion.
I highly doubt the VIP package will be a subscription thing. It will most likely be a one-time purchase, bought with gems. Probably something on the order of 4k gems. Maybe it will be priced cheaper if you pay real cash, and higher if you pay gems.
The reason I think it’s a single purchase is simply because of the boosts it provides. Namely extra bank space, additional bag slot, additional character slot, additional skill points, etc. They only make sense as one-time increases to your account.
If it were a subscription model, what happens when you stop paying? You lose the bank/bag/character slot they gave you? For skill points, do they take away the skills you bought with those extra points? And if you keep subscribing, do you get more skill points every month? A new character slot every month? The logistics just don’t work out with a subscription.
The only time I am afraid of Elementalists would be in tournaments. In my opinion, Elementalists have the highest skill cap. And therefore the full potential of an Elementalist is rarely seen. In tournaments, I see Elementalists wreaking havoc on unsuspecting foes. They are much like Necromancers whom use staff. If you leave the Elementalist unchecked, they will bomb your team/surrounding allies with AoE damage. Unlike the Necromancer, however, this is raw damage, and cannot be mitigated by condition cleanse. They have been nerfed close to the ground, sure, but they are much in the state that thiefs are finding themselves. They are still a threat. But you need to be VERY skilled to play one effectively. Unfortunately this effectiveness comes from being cornered into a few builds. That is the main problem, Elementalists lack diversity in my opinion.
Thanks for the observations friends, helps me understand what’s going on. I’ll be a little more patient with things like this in the future.
I have to mention that this game is really, really good. It’s taken some time to grow on me and I highly recommend it to anyone curious. The detail packed into it is amazing!
I don’t think GW2 is just the best looking MMO out there, it is in it’s own league. There isn’t a single MMO I would mention in the same sentence as this game, as far as graphics go.
I’m studying graphics from the perspective of CS (so the technical, not artistic, side). The thing that still gets me is this game’s support of reflections and detailed bump maps. I don’t know of any other MMO that even tries to support reflections on any level. And no other MMO has the sort of detailed textures and bump maps that this game has.
I can only imagine how much work went into the graphics, just to make it all run at a decent framerate. There is stuff in this game that just hasn’t been done in MMO’s before.
