I did a quick looky, and your record today is 7-4 with your worst loss being 150 points and your best loss being 360. It doesn’t seem to match up to the experience you describe. Before that you were on a massive win streak so perhaps your MMR is settling back down.
If I get time I can try and see how many matches were against premades.
Edit: The 150 loss was against all solos with a team score of 300.
Were you playing on a different account?

Your weekly position is based on your Glicko +/- a random number… up to 100, I think? Maybe it’s smaller, that seems too big.
So, for example, Ebay’s 1489 glicko could have been adjusted up to 1564 making them blue for the week.
You’ll notice the randomization take effect more when you’re closer in glicko to other servers. Since Ebay is ~50 behind NSP and about 80 ahead of DB, they’re not switching much.
I’ve asked our QA Team leads about this, as I know you’d like to know more. Is it a bug? Is it a feature? Time will tell and we’ll post an update when we have more info.
As mentioned in Colin’s BWE1 announcement blog:
While playing this weekend, don’t forget to tune in Saturday (August 8th) at 10:00 a.m. CEST (1:00 a.m. Pacific Time) to our WTS Championship event, live from the show floor at gamescom. The four top PvP teams from around the world will compete for bragging rights and $50,000 in prizes. Fellow Warriors of the Mists,
World population is visible on the labels on the World Selection and Transfer screen. It determines whether you can transfer to a world and, if you can, how much the transfer will cost. These measures historically have been set based on aggregate population levels around all game modes. But because World versus World is the only game mode to which worlds apply these days, we have developed a better model that exclusively uses WvW data to determine population levels and transfer costs.
We will be rolling out the new model soon and some shifts in the population levels should be expected. We’ll continue to monitor the situation, and we’ll make all adjustments we deem necessary to improve the WvW experience. As always, your feedback is very welcome.
See you in the Mists,
— Samuel

TL;DR: Matchups aren’t just determined by the glicko rating alone, a random roll is applied to the rating (up to about +/- 70 points atm) when matchups are generated. This is done to create matchup variety. At this time, servers within about 140 points of each other can therefore switch positions when matchups are generated.

I don’t post on these forums much. Because these forums are hindered by the rule sets and principles ArenaNet places on them. Because of this most people use other forums for better debates and communication. My account I’m posting from is my alt account. My main account is MaLeVoLenT.8129. I’m the leader of Onslaught and Onslaught Legacy, a Cross-Realm guild on both BG and TC. About 3 weeks ago I was Blackgates Server leader. I’ve dealt with countless issues of spying and Cross Realm players and guilds. I’ve seen servers destroyed and communities ruined.
I have one simple question FOR ArenaNet. What is Match Manipulation? Is this when During Season 2, JQ and TC coordinated an extreme amount to Cripple BG? Where as they shared information like commander names and plans. Where as they were in direction communication? Or is Match manipulation, Where BG and JQ’s goals align and a guild plays on both BG and JQ with the sole intent of destroying TC? How will you react when entire communities plot to destroy one another through spying and other forms of “War Tactics”. Is spying just sitting on a enemy map on a secondary account feeding information to the other side? If it is how do you proceed. How do you determine if that individual is actually a spy?
Whether your intent in having two major forces on two competing servers is to manipulate the matchup or not it just looks bad. There’s appearance of impropriety at work. I was on BG when TW formed TWL and started propping up JQ. Did they manipulate matchups? Well… let’s be perfectly honest the matchup in t1 has been manipulated for a long time with all 3 servers working in agreement to keep them in that tier. Push weeks and all that. I don’t know maybe that’s not done anymore but I know a fair number of people thought it was a shabby thing to do.
Regardless, even if Anet says that cross server guilds on two competing servers is a-ok there’s still going to be players on each server scratching their heads and saying/thinking “something about this stinks”
Is push weeks to secure ones server position, Match manipulation? There has never been a point in time where it was agreed upon the Tier 1 servers to see each other stay in Tier. TW went to JQ because the state of the game was making people very bored. They decided to have alt accounts instead because they didn’t want to leave BG.
Push weeks happened since the very start of this game. I’ve been in Tier 1 for 2 years now and I was once on Sea of Sorrows who also coordinated pushes. Push weeks do not equate to Match Manipulation by any means..
Push weeks aren’t manipulation. However coordinating the push weeks among the servers in the tier so everyone keeps enough glicko not to slip out is pretty manipulative. Propping up servers with alt accounts in the same tier is pretty manipulative. And even if neither of those things are happening it still has an appearance of impropriety.
I understand having multiple accounts but why would people have multiple accounts on servers that face each other week in and week out? Why did TW initially go to JQ as TWL? To make them competitive and keep them in t1 and give BG better competition. At least that’s what was said when it happened. If they hadn’t done that there’s a good possibility that JQ would have been knocked out of the tier. Latest rumors going around were that TC was going to get knocked out of tier 1. Now you have ONSL doing the same thing that TWL did on JQ for TC. Why? I mean if y’all have so much extra time to invest in wvw on alt accounts why wouldn’t you go to a lower tier and play there?
Not to beat a dead horse but regardless of the “rules” it still comes down to an appearance of impropriety.
If they invite some GvG circle kitten guilds we all know what their constructive criticism means.
If it in genuinely not constructive, they likely won’t listen to it.
You do not get to decide which players have a right to offer an opinion.
Please do not attempt to devolve a discussion of a highly anticipated expansion, simply because you disagree with other players opinion.
‘New build just went live that includes a fix for this issue, if you are still having problems please post.’

All things being equal (which they never are), my generic recommendation for a small (< 40 active members) guild:
At that point, you should be in one of three states:
So I wanted to try participating in some pvp event and decided to sign in as a free agent as stated in this official forum post but I cannot find any option to do so, it asks me to fill in team details. I can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong, can someone help me with it?
Under the Free Agents rules it states..
“All free-agent players must report to the Academy Gaming Teamspeak server (meatyfrog [dot] com:1337) by 5:00pm Pacific/8:00pm Eastern; failure to do so will result in you not being put on to a team.”
You no longer register if you’re a free agent. We will register for you so long as you show up at the designated time.
And yes, skullmount, we changed websites for registration because digitalprosports.com allows for more versatility on our end and much simple signups.
If you have any more questions let me know.
Will try to keep this brief.
I started playing Guild Wars when I was 14 years old. I remember when Factions came out, followed by Nightfall and Eye of the North. I remember taking a week and half off from work and university for the opening week of GW2.
Even though I was never one of the die hard competitive players, everything about the world of Guild Wars speaks to me in a very nostalgic way, so much so that it hurts when I listen to the soundtrack of pre-searing Ascalon, or think back to the sense of wonder I felt when exploring the more isolated reaches of the Maguuma jungle.
This sense of wonder inspired me to leave my home country of New Zealand and have my own adventure traveling the world. I’m currently living in Northern Scandinavia, 400km north of the Arctic circle training sled huskies in exchange for food and accommodation. I can honestly say that I never would have had the imagination or courage to go on a journey like this, had it not been for the strong influences your games have had on me.
Keep making beautiful, inspiring, captivating games. I’m looking forward to seeing what Heart of Thorns has in store, even though it will be a while before I can return to the game!
Many thanks,
Tom (Quinn Winter)
Since there’s no way to accidentally delete a character, i wouldn’t expect any help from support.
But what if your cat jumps on your keyboard, accidentally logs into your account, accidentally hits delete, then accidentally types your char’s name, and then hits enter?
Good quick tips for newbies to WvW.
There’s actually an asura story mission that involves fighting an evil version of your character from another copy of Tyria that is slightly ahead in time to the version the character is.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Infinity_Ball
It’s pretty much established by now that Tyria and virtually infinite versions of it and its inhabitants are in some sort “blurry jumble of fractals” estate with different versions of itself changing, resetting and overlapping all the time with each other, and many parts of it frozen in time and looping within a short frame of time here and there.
Player characters would be special in that they have much less versions of themselves than NPCs. For now the minimum is 3: The player as commander, the player as party member of the commander, and for asura, the evil one.
It would be funny if after defeating all 6 elder dragons, whatever is keeping Tyria ‘fractured’ this way stopped, and Tyria became one and whole again.

It’s not an exploit. You build your character to do this.
It’s usually because there’s an event going on nearby. (It stops people who are killed resurrecting right in the middle of the event and stops people coming from other maps on a slow connection landing in enemy territory and being killed before the game has fully loaded.)
During Season 2 of the Living Story some waypoints were destroyed by Mordremoth and now show as permanently contested. If you go there you can see they’re actually gone – all that’s left is a few flickering pieces on the ground.
These may or may not be rebuilt at some point. There was a lot of debate while it was going on with some people even speculating that they were building up to removing waypoints completely.
Mine doesn’t have an update. The last update notes was on April 7th.
Did you happen to change the language on your game?
For those who don’t care enough about PvP to read the whole announcement about the Stronghold beta this coming Tuesday, take heed! At the bottom it says:
“In addition, Guild Wars 2 will be 75% off from 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time on Friday, April 10 until 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on April 13*. Guild Wars 2 PvP features an active, skill-based combat system; a progression system that rewards skill over stat grind; and a growing competitive scene. Pick up a copy and join the battle!
I like this guy too.
Do your thing man, work hard work fast. Thank you for taking the time on the weekend to do this =D
Norn settle there problems with fists and beer.
The character and NPC voices are “a bit tinny” as well, it’s awesome. I think the effect is so subtle that many people didn’t really notice, at least it hasn’t come up in conversation much.
I hadn’t noticed the “tinny” sound but in hindsight yeah, I think it was. I’m no audiophile, subtle sound glitches bounce right off me. The ragtime, though, that had me laughing, guffawing even! Just ask my Mumble friends!
The audio team knocks things out of the park on a regular basis, here’s to them, bless ’em.
Congratulations!
I fully fell for your April fools day joke today. That hasn’t happened in many years, it was very creative and I laughed with great delight. Congratulations on your creativeness!
I wonder if Anet should add an explanation of “April Fool’s Day” to the NPE.
Never saw an Hacker in a pvp match yet and I playing since launch. My guess is that they beat you, you disliked it and you call hacker. But can you elaborate. What they did that make you think they hacked?
