I suggest you circle around, and try to attack him from behind. Or dive towards your opponent with the sun behind you. Either way, this is a L2Fly issue.
Having reread the thread, I see a few different things:
- Some players, like me, only rarely see extreme instances of offensive behavior.
- Some players don’t see issues at all.
- Some feel they see them daily and have modified their game experiences to avoid such instances.
- Some say “Buck up and ignore it.”
- Others say, “I have a god-given right to offend you, and you have no right to complain.”
End of the day, why don’t we let the professionals decide? Why don’t each of you who see offensive chat report it and let the moderation team make a decision about the overall offensiveness of a word or phrase in the context of the game. The team is not draconian, they understand the difference between a word spoken in the heat of the moment and a pattern of abusive language. Report and forget and trust that things will be taken care of in the best and more fair manner possible.

Good luck.
But being social and asking them, and telling them how amazing they look could make them feel special. :o Don’t be shy.
It was me! Sorry for the confusion.
Again, to confirm, the icons shown in the blog post are all placeholder. I am not requiring that you get Chaos of Lyssa or the Preserved Queen Bee.
The game is still very active, and qeue times are anywhere from instant qeue to 5 mins maximum. Anybody who is saying 15-30 mins is either full of it or waited in a broken qeue.
I enjoy this game, as do many others. I suggest buying it.

Less arguments, more listening. Do it and you will see.

Kosai, hope you get your character fixed. Have you tried submitting a support ticket? In my experienced, other players have no clue what to do and are rude half the time. The quoted comment case in point.
Thanks for writing up your concerns so succinctly.
This test season is intended to test an algorithm that’s tailored towards ranking players higher for better W/L ratios, in addition to using points gained from playing (meaning games played does not become valueless). The algorithm we’re using this time around is completely different than what was previously tested, and they both have different purposes. We’re already having internal discussions on how we can adjust this season’s algorithm to better suit the goals we stated on Thursday – rewarding players who play well, not just play. These discussions will continue into the next week, and now we have an entire weekend’s worth of data that we can look at and extrapolate on.
An important thing to keep in mind is that these events are tests, and the only thing we’re testing right now is the formula behind ranking. We’re gathering a lot of useful data that we can use to help us make better decisions. These “test seasons” not a final product by any stretch of the imagination.

So long ago, in GW2, Chauncey von Snuffles III took Tyria by storm with his overwhelmingly elegant gentlemen attire. Now from recent news it looks like Llamas are now following in his stylish footsteps.
I believe this is a fad worth spreading and more Mini pets should be taking interest. Do you agree?
I began trying to teach my own mini pets how to become the perfect gentlemen.

I’m actually quite looking forward to the next tournament. It’ll be interesting to see how the T2 stacking has affected their coverage and how they stack against T1 servers on the NA side. I don’t think it’ll affect things as much on the EU side for gold league though.

It’s just normal in mmos, the systems are just too complex to fully test before going live. If you like the genre, better get used to it.
So far:
- Ping is now shown in the F11 settings dialogue in the bottom right corner
- Reported: /Say and /Party chat text color are both being reported as being green colored now
- Reported: Change to the ‘Low’ setting of Post-Processing that affects game appearance from pre-patch Low Post-Processing
- Reported: Stats like crit chance are now displayed in %
- Reported: Revenant is now visible in character creation all-races screen
- Reported: Downed players in the party interface no longer have a red life bar. It’s a dark green shade now.
- Reported: Mixing Buffer Size removed from sound options
- BUG and Unintended Wait for fix – When visiting merchants, you can now only see weapons and armor available to your profession

People not liking the map should stop commenting as “the whole community”. The number one complaint i’ve seen in WvW has been about blobs. ANet is trying to give us exactly that.
“WvW is getting stale.”
“Freaking Map Blobs everywhere! Where are the real fights?”
“We want change!”
Well, you all got your wish, and frankly, the previewed Desert Borderland is, when you think about it the only solution for what is wrong with WvW right now.
…Yes, I said the vertically-advantaged, objective-prioritized, NPC-dynamiced new borderland is the solution to what many have been crying out for. Or at the very least addresses many of the problems we have had once we reached the point where the current maps got real dull.
I am just going to assume many of you have started questioning my sanity, and I will answer that yes, I am an insane, suicidal warrior who loves to smash through enemy zounds alone. But that does not diminish why the new borderlands help us overall.
Let’s go through the problems one at a time, and see what JUST the Desert Borderlands does.
Stale World Versus World: This one is probably the most common complaint, and it has a myriad of rationale behind it, from ‘Fighting the same opponents is boring’ to using the ‘Same tactics and sieging the same objectives’. I am fairly certain we have all gone through our 200th capture of Stonemist Castle to know there are approximately 457,124 bricks on the outer wall…give or take a few hundred.
Sadly, even after Heart of Thorns we will still be counting Stonemist bricks, wishing we can get into the new utterly different borderland queues. We are getting a new map people, A NEW MAP. Regardless of what your opinion is, regardless of how much you hate heights, the new Borderlands unlike Edge of the Mists will matter on the scoreboard, and we will be returning back to the old days of figuring out tactics and siege placements or where to drop in from to crash the party with your guild of 15-20!
I am going to call this now, a lot of people here will actually love the new map, and feel invigorated by a fresh new battlefield to fight on. If nothing else, that stale feeling will be taken away for a time.
The ocean of foes: So this is an interesting perspective I am having issues trying to comprehend why people get upset about. Yes, numbers are an undeniable power in WvW. So we build siege to try to counter, but then we run the issue of whether siege is needed when fighting an equal force, thus setting in motion probably the most debated issue in GW2. Fortunately, I am only concerned with how the map helps with the ‘issue’ with map blobs.
Turns out, having bigger numbers will always give you an advantage, but having bigger numbers going into a choke….
I don’t think we need commanders to figure this one out, but choke-based objectives and vertical mechanics actually HURT the bigger numbers, there is a larger risk of getting taken out by well-placed arrow-carts or gravity (How many people do you lose jumping down from just Hills? Multiply that by Dry Top). I predict that, at least with the Desert Borderlands, players will realize the best course for their forces is smaller but still significant numbers across the map. Running 80 into some chokes might be a death-wish…
Now, with all the other things like NPC changes or smaller objectives, I do not think their impact is worth mentioning here as I believe they need to be played first by us to get a better grasp. I mean, I don’t think I am going on too much of a whim here saying that the NPC changes shouldn’t really affect WvWers too much, remember when the mobs in EotM were announced? I am going to expect the same from these mobs, as I believe the real positive effect that we all should be happy for is an actual change in the WvW battlefield.
So if you will excuse me, going to clean my hammer off, whiskers, asura ear, some human hair, it ruins the shine.

“Seriously, just dodge.”
The utter stupity of Anet devs NEVER FAILS to surprise me…
STOP! STOP! Removing content already in the game…no other devs do it and for very, very good reasons.
Actually it is quite usual for devs (especially in MMOs) to remove stuff, I would actually say that most do it.
It is also a big sad to see people rage without actually checking the information first.
They made it rather clear that it will not be removed permanently but rather be put into rotation a while after release. But I suppose that doesn’t matter?

If a player enters WvW to attempt map completion, people attacking them will keep them from their goal and tend to provide a negative experience contrary to their intent and efforts.
A player entering WvW to join the fight is expecting to be attacked and to join in the fighting. For them, this will be a more positive experience (hopefully) more in line with their intent and efforts when entering the map.

I just wanted to tell everyone on the GW 2 team thank you for creating this incredible game. I’ve been a player and dedicated fan of Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2 from the first release and it’s the top game I play among all others. I’ve played WOW, COH, STO, SWTOR, The Secret World, Tera: Rising, pretty much every mainstream game you can think of and GW 2 is my favorite.
GW now only does most things better in mechanics, graphics, features, interface, artwork, design, ect, but what really raises it beyond all of other games is the team behind it and their love of this game.
I’ve never seen a team more dedicated, skilled, and connected to their players than the GW 2 team. That is also reflected in the game and on the player-base who are also as dedicated and fun to team up with throughout the game. I’ve never once been bored or frustrated with the game. I never feel like my time is wasted as we’re constantly rewarded, encouraged, ad continually challenged in this game.
I’m glad you continue to create more content and additions. I’m excited for the upcoming camera features that I’ve been hoping for, for awhile now.
This isn’t just a game to me, it’s an experience that is well thought out and crafted.
Please keep GW going for as long as possible and as long as your team is having fun, so will I and many others.
Thanks again!
Most of the skins are on level 80 gear. Once unlocked they can be re-skinned onto gear at any level.
Getting weapons/armour or skins can be from the folloiwng sources in game;
- Karma or gold vendors throughout cities. Especially cultural for your race, in 3 different tiers (and can be unlocked earlier)
- Vendors for your order – priory/whispers/vigil
- champion loot boxes (weapons only)
- exchangeable for dungeon tokens in Lions Arch
- Crafting – including Legendary, Ascended, Grawl, Krait, Jormag, Hylek
- Unlocked via story or achievements
- bought from the auction house
- other karma vendors (eg pirate themed at the end of a jumping puzzle in Lions Arch)
- very rare boss rewards at Tequatl and Evolved Jungle Worm (open world massive boss battles)
- achievement points
There are thousands of skins in this game which aren’t on the Gem Store. You can see a gallery of them at Dulfy.Com should you wish to see more.

No one can steal your gold. You voluntarily gave it away.
Take it as a lesson. It is important for real life too to learn not to trust anyone.
If Anet makes a change like this just so PvE players can get a specific weapon skin easier, then they’re going to need to fix a lot of PvE events as well. For instance, I’d really like to have some of the Tequatl ascended weapon skins, but Tequatl doesn’t get defeated that often, and is usually only defeated during certain times of the day, by organized guilds who completely fill up their map well BEFORE the event becomes available to start. And a single player, of course has NO CHANCE of defeating Tequatl. Even a small, organized group can’t do it, anymore than you and a few friends can take a defended Keep or Stonemist Castle; in fact, far more people have soloed Keeps than Tequatl, as I’ve NEVER seen a video of someone soloing Tequatl, or even any claim of it having been attempted. So my job basically makes it too difficult for me to finish Tequatl at all, let alone enough times to have a decent chance at finally getting one of those rare weapon drops. And those aren’t even Legendary, they’re just Ascended! So maybe Anet could give me the same chance of getting a Tequatl weapon skin every time I kill a Keep Lord as I would if I were defeating Tequatl, since my schedule doesn’t seem to prevent me from killing Keep Lords several times a week. This is just one of many PvE events that I don’t have time for, as a well-compensated professional. But I should still have access to the same weapon skins as everyone else, even if I never complete the events!!! Hurry up Anet and fix this game to better fit my schedule!!!
Your ideas intrigue me, and I would like to subscribe to your newsletter.
+1
I’m still not sure why PVE-ers have to 100% all the WvW maps (three of which are the exact same map :|) for their completion achievement. They should just separate them and make two achievements (assuming that the WvW players even care enough to have one for themselves), one for WvW and another for PVE. That way — as a PVE/SPVP player — I won’t have to take up a slot in the WvW lobby when I have no intention of running with the zerg. Not to mention that it’d just save every PVE-er from the frustration that is being ganked when you’re minding your own business, wandering from POI to Vista to POI and have no desire to fight someone.
There is no such thing as PvE-ers or WvW-ers or PvP-ers, there are only Play-ers. If your trying to get POI solo, your tieing your own hands. Ask the map for help. Generally they are more then happy to aid you where they can.

The only thing I’d add here that hasn’t already been said is: when your server owns something, log in with all of your toons and do the map completion one after another.
It’s way less tedious than trying to get it in the future and having to wait, so do them all now.
Buy gems and transfer to T1. It’s the meta solution to all of WvW problems.
You’ll have less chance of getting map completion in T1 than in T8. It’s actually easiest to complete in T8 as you can get your PvE guild, if it’s large enough, get on the map you need completion on, and completely take it over if you have a decent amount of people. If that happens in T2 or T1, you’ll simply get farmed for loot bags while you try to run around taking points.

I have played quite a few mmos, and in comparison from what I have experienced so far Guild Wars 2 has made a lot of improvements in this genre.
Exploration – I am compelled to explore the zone. The vistas are fun little distractions as I make my way across the map while questing.
Equalized leveling – The level down mechanic keeps every area on the map playable, fantastic idea to keep content relevant.
Mini Events – Another nice option when I want to take a break from questing.
Npc Dialogue – Really adds to the feeling of emersion while running around. Sometimes I’ll stop what I’m doing just to listen to what their conversations about.
There is a ton more I’m sure, but I just reached level 15 on my engineer so I am somewhat limited on my experience. However, from what I have seen so far Guild Wars 2 has done really well in these areas, and I’m looking forward to more as I continue my journey.
