Greetings,
If you read or post on our official forums, you may have noticed the +1 button next to each post. Recently, we have updated this system with more features and visibility for you, the players. You can find the full forum update notes here. This post is to familiarize you all with the new features in our +1 system and how they affect you.
Added a link to user profile pages which shows posts that a user has +1’d, ordered such that top-most is the most recent
Added a link to user profiles to show highly rated posts ordered descending by score
When visiting a user’s profile page, you can view all posts that user has +1’d starting with the most recent, or see all of their own posts that have been +1’d by others sorted descending by score.
Both of these options are opt-in, because we respect your privacy and don’t want to force you into sharing information you are not comfortable with sharing. As such, you may not see these links in other user profile pages immediately. You will always see these links on your own page, regardless of your settings.
To allow others to view these pages on your own profile, click on your display name in the upper right of the forum, then on the following page, click “Edit Profile”, check the last two boxes and click “Save changes”.
Popularity is divided between popular and very popular as well as per-thread and forum-wide
What this means is that there are two levels of popularity, categorized “popular” and “very popular”. Currently these are indicated by a thumbs-up icon that appears next to the +1 button. If a post is very popular, the thumbs-up earns a star that appears within said icon.
Our future plans include updating these indicators to something more visually striking. Until then, this is how you will know if a post has achieved popular status.
There are also two levels in which posts are gauged for popularity, on a per-thread basis and forum-wide. Forum-wide popularity takes into account +1s from within a set time period across the forum. Per-thread popularity takes into account all +1s in a thread. Visually, a forum-wide popular post will have a red underline beneath the thumbs-up icon.
Over the next few weeks, we will monitor thresholds against post-scores and make adjustments as we see is necessary to ensure accurate display of popularity indicators. Going forward, if you read a post and like it, press that +1 button. It’s how you let us, and other players, know that you liked what you read.

I’m kinda embarrassed being part of this community right now. The vocal minority is showing an obscene level of disrespect to the developers.
So you’re not perfectly happy, that is no excuse for this type of behavior. Please, show some respect and discuss your feelings in a civilized manner.
As to the patch, I’d like to thank Anet for their hard work. I know that the team wants the game to be the best it can be, and I appreciate their work and think it shows in game.
I look forward to further updates and tweaks as GW2 continues to grow.

ArenaNet I would like to thank you for providing myself and my spouse such a great gaming experience. I would like to encourage to all GW2 players to post a screenie of their spouse’s /significant other since valentine’s day is drawing near.
Signed,
Happy GW2 Couple’s.

I want to be 100% effective in WvW and open world PvE/group PvE.
Why do I have to spend 3s each time to do so or be sub par?
I don’t mind the cost, but I think that we should be allowed to respec at any time so long as we’re not in combat.
You can even keep taking 3s from me every time, I just want to be able to change my traits along with the rest of my build. It makes no sense that everything else is dynamically changeable when traits are not.
This would make it much easier for PUGs to strategize on the fly and change their strategies to suit the situation, which is what the game is supposed to built around.
How’d that work out for us so far?
Now let’s try some ideas that will really work.
That’s so cool! I didn’t know I could do that. Thank you.
In the options menu (F11), you can set a hotkey for ‘Target next ally.’ Then just press that key to cycle through the stacked NPCs.
Well you can’t please them all I guess. Most of this is a matter of opinion and seems to just paint the game with a swath of negative colors while completely ignoring the beauty and vibrance that the game does have.
I don’t feel the personal stories are poor or bad. They’re not awesomely great or stellar, but certainly no where near to the extent of horrible that you seem to suggest. The cutscenes are not captivating like a movie and don’t use a lot of cinematic flair in them. The story itself, however, is not bad at all. The fact that you chose to skip all of the dialogue (and thus the story) is your own problem. That’s like opening a book, skipping around and reading the section headers, and then complaining that the book sucked.
While a LFG system would be nice, finding a group isn’t that hard. And if you still have that much trouble, then you may want to join a guild who does dungeon runs.
Some PvE being bugged is definitely troublesome, but it is, again, not that bad especially compared to how buggy endgame content has been in other MMOs. And they have been working on it. The only zone I’ve been in that has been brokenly bugged (as in clearly not tested enough to ensure that the zone didn’t melt into a pile of goo) was the Iron Marches. Every other zone has clearly been worked on. I mean this is a game launch. ALL game launches have bugs, ALL of them. And the game hasn’t been out for even a month yet. Seriously, if you wanted a bug-free game experience then the general rule of thumb is to wait three months after its release. No amount of time in beta or development eliminates all bugs; that is the nature of games in general.
Also on SPvP, the point is to be strategic without being overly complex. While I would like to see other game types (capture the flag?), I’m okay with the point capture of the maps. You also make no mention of WvW I noticed (which I would consider PvP). While it does suck that you can’t play casually with a friend, it would also suck to be solo and casually play normal games to only find that they are a bunch of pro premades that facestomp your pug. So.. it balances out.
As far as what to do at 80, I felt sort of similar to you at first. Once you get to 80, there is no more handholding on what you need to do. There is no “Well you can do these things here, but you’re required to stay on this gear treadmill to continue being viable.” Once you hit 80 and get your full set of Exotics (not a hard task mind you), then you’re left with a variety of options and goals that you have to set yourself. In most other games, your goals and next course of action are generally dictated to you (grind this dungeon, get this gear, etc.). In GW2 you can: Master crafting, complete the aesthetic look that you would like, begin working torwards crafting a legendary, get 100% world completion, begin involving yourself seriously in the WvW metagame, grind achievements, and/or begin exploring the full capability of your class in SPvP. Or.. you can do none of that and just reroll or leave the game. Your character will be just as viable in any case.
I feel bad for the people who experience this, but its not everyone.
Myself have never encountered a bug where I could not finish a quest, and I have only received one spam message about purchasing gold.
So far my experience has been near flawless, but I still know its not the case for others.
