Ha ha. I would agree though that it would be epic to see him come out of the Mystic Forge and start killing Scarlet’s army. I just don’t think it’s gonna happen.

Sigh no one makes this any fun anymore. True there are forges in the mists primarily WvW, but those particular mists are anomalies, so one really can’t use them as an example of what i’m talking about here.
And if Miyani DOES transport him to Vigil’s Keep it would still have to be in the midst of everything going on.
throws hands up nevermind

Warrior is like the burger with everything….
Don’t get me wrong, Warrior is my highest ranked toon in WvW…
They have supreme mobility and can far out-attrition the attrition class…
A-net, tell me again why Necros don’t get mobility? Was it attrition? I can’t remember…
80 Ranger (3), 80 Warrior (3), 80 Thief (3)
80 Ele (2), 80 Engi (3), 80 Rev (2)
From what I’ve seen:
Vamp – Still underwhelming, but it’s a weirdly fine line
Minion – Great in sPvP at least, not sure about WvW success (probably lackluster for larger-scale fights)
Power – Seems to do well everywhere (not necessarily the weapons you mention)
Condi – The only place I think Condi is lackluster is when you’re trying to fight a single Champion/boss with the rest of the blob. Otherwise, seems to do really well everywhere (perma-condi stripping in WvW is an exaggeration, unless all you do is attack well supported/coordinated groups/guilds).
Anything else – What else is there? How many builds do you want to be truly viable in an MMO? How many do you expect, exactly? But on that note, someone posted a really good explanation of how their Apothecary well-support Necro was a huge boon in Fractals. So, there you go.
“He’s like a man with a fork in a world of soup.”
March 18th grand feature patch
- Finally we fixed a long lasting bug since beta, so now the so called Necromancer no longer a class, but a mob as intended.
GW universe Necromancers don’t raise “zombies” or “skeletons” they make golems out of assorted parts in the area.
I have a level 30 necromancer and I don’t really like the minions when I chose this class I was expecting skeletons not zombie squirrels. Please make it that you can summon human skeletons.
I think they should scale the fight down and turn it into a guild mission (new guild challenge mission).
Guild missions need a little love right now anyway.
I’m not super happy that we lose the Marionette fight (it’s fun, and I’ve been coming back daily after having finished all achievements) but I guess that’s the nature of the beast.
But I want to say that I love the Marionette’s look and animations. You don’t realize how massive she is (sadly, during warden fights you don’t have time for a good look, and from the lanes you don’t see much either. I’ve been watching the fight a few times from hill tops, it was beautiful. Love the stomps and the sword phase. And the spinning head. Man. That’s awesome.)
I would love if we could keep her around at least to look at. (I’m nostalgic.)
For instance, upon her final defeat, she could maybe just collapse on the ground and stay there as a mini jumping puzzle.
~ Whips ~ City Minigames ~ City Jumping Puzzles ~
This is really the first event in the game that, to me, feels like there are consequences for failure (even though those consequences are a small monetary payment by all people in the zone).
I love it.
It’s a little thing called “character development.” It’s understandable if you have your preferences for how a character develops, but this is the path Anet chose for these two. I’m just glad their living story NPCs are showing signs of growth as individuals rather than just plot critical story devices.
Best character they have created in ages, no cheesy relationship – her obvious attraction to braham is like a little sister/ big brother relationship and its adorable. She has an actual weakness and isn’t unbelievably all powerful. Her understandable admiration of Scarlet’s intellect as herself a child prodigy.
She’s only been around for a couple of weeks and already she’s so much better than most of the other main characters.
I really hope she is Omadd daughter but if that is the case she would probably say something about it when you ask about scarlet. After all Scarlet did brutally murder her father and she says “Do you think we’ll get to see her? Maybe meet her? I’d like that. Wouldn’t you?”
If you asked me about the murdered of my father I’d want to do more than just meet her.
I know some people are complaining about how the way the new team is forming is to be PC or some-such nonsense, but I love it. I absolutely adored Taimi last update since she’s so feisty, but now that they’ve had her reveal her disability? I love her even more. The general mass of gamers have an easy time finding a character to relate to, but I don’t. I have disabilities and to see a character have a similar “fault” is awesome.
To which ever part of the team that made her: thank you so much! <3
I think you can clearly see the design progression from revamped Tequatl to the marionette. I think it still requires some refinement, but it’s certainly going in the right direction. Both events still require someone (or a few someones) to take absolute charge, and for everyone present to pay attention to that someone (or someones). I like the idea of reducing the numbers into area squads with a more decisive visual (whereas Tequatl there should be squads, but it’s not always presented as clearly mapwise). This cutting up should help make the job easier, in theory.
Within the smaller groupings, however, ArenaNet need to work on portions failing if one player fails - if that’s what is actually happening. To clarify: I don’t think I’ve seen that happen, but if the forums have it correct and it is the case, arming people to pick on one person is wrong - we all know that what happens when people experience a bad attempt, and it’s unacceptable, particularly if it can be prevented in the first place (prevention being the best cure and all).
I don’t appreciate a two-hour wait and nowhere else to practice the mechanics. An arena of some sort would be useful; failing that, I’m not sure if it would be possible to have some kind of playback and/or spectator mode in game for this. Or a story instance where we stumble upon Scarlet’s plans for those regulator wardens ahead of time, not afterwards - perhaps the Order of Whispers secured the information in some daring espionage at some point, and would kindly like to share for once. Whatever would make it work would be good.
<lecturemode>
But I’ve said it before: everyone -absolutely everyone - should make it their business to succeed. That means repeating yourself, ad infinitum, with patience and respect, how to run the lanes and the regulators. That means open communication between commanders, and in lieu of a commander being present, someone on each lane communicating strategy. This means listening to those people who are giving instruction, and doing your best to act on what they say. It means having a look at Dulfy or having a look at these forums if it helps understanding of how to play the event. It also means not ragging on people who haven’t done that, and accepting people make mistakes; not rubbing people’s faces in it when it doesn’t work (because you must be a complete fool if you think that will ensure your win).
We all have a common goal here. It would be useful not to forget that.
</lecturemode>
For temporary content that only happens once every even hour? Nah. Not only is it hilarious, it adds a bit of meat to the marionette actually being dangerous.

Roll a ranger, I did and I don’t regret it. Having so many evades, blocks, stuns, endless dodging, invulnerabilities….oh its like a breath of fresh air. I tried doing the warrior thing for a while but I would fall asleep at my keyboard after the first 5 minutes. Strangely enough I would awake to find I landed several victories while I was asleep…go figure.
I don’t know what awaits us in march, it may be good, or it may bury the necro once and for all. Until then I’ll keep working on my ranger. Almost got him map completion already and working on his ascended gear now. Just don’t go read ranger forums lol. Those guys have no idea how to play their own class.
~Surrender fiend and you will get an easy death

A Norn and his Sylvari adventuring friend enter a rough and tumble Norn drinking establishment to boast about their latest adventures. The Norn bellows loudly to the bartender “Your largest and strongest ale!” The patrons all cheer him on in encouragement. The bartender turns to the Sylvari and asks “and how about you friend?” The Sylvari responds “I’ll have a water please.” A hush falls over the establishment. The Norn, looking slightly embarrassed, whispers to his friend “You’ll need to order something stronger than that in here.” So the Sylvari turns back to the bartender… “And put it in a dirty vase.”
I enjoy levelling, it’s a very measurable sense of progression. My feelings towards levelling are the equivalent of the feelings a raider would get with new gear or achieving BiS – for me levelling/growing a character is the whole reason I play mmos
www.varshen.com
I like leveling. I start new characters all the time, because I enjoy leveling them up. It’s not as much fun to ignore all drops unless they are orange or pink, which is what level 80s do.
Just one player’s opinion.
Lessons learned.
- Do stuff do break zergs up
- Make stuff zone wide to reduce performance impact
- Cant grief it like the turrets
Lessons not learned
- Wait wars 2..
- Overflow issues
- Low Pop servers are out of luck
- Wurm on the same spawn timer as Teq ? (nice planning)
- Dead people still scale the event

Thanks, OP.
I wouldn’t have been able to sleep without knowing where you’re going to spend your leisure time. Now that you’ve cleared it up, I can finally rest.
This should definitely be instanced and the rewards should be improved. You could then use a raid group that practices and not rely on luck from a zerg.
Yes I already said I won’t be doing this meta, but then I probably wont be able to log on much until two weeks from now since nothing else new to do really exists. Many people are playing this since this is new and we haven’t gotten an update for a while.
I ignored Teq largely and that did not stop them from making more Teq like encounters that are open world and not instanced where you are largely at the mercy of the overflow system.
Please. It’s an MMO. Whats this no loot mentality thats been going on a bit too long? These events feel very empty aside from just having an incredible quantity of dps sinks that don’t even reward you. I don’t understand this anymore. The gameplay isn’t good enough to completely drain the loot from the events like this.
if there was loot from that champ people would just farm those champs rather than completing the event just like scarlet’s last time. Its a good thing that this time there is no look.
So it’s been just about a year and we’re still dealing with Scarlet, you’re telling me the guild who took down a dragon, killed Ziatan can’t stop ONE kitten Celery Woman? ANET pull the good story out from under your bottoms and use it already. How much longer do we have to play Guild Wars 2: You’re not the main character, SCARLET IS?
I wish it was more like the underwater version. Faster attacks, lower damage.
Sometimes in pvp since the attacks are so slow, targets with perma vigor can dodge like 2/3 blasts, and use other means to negate the rest. Its sad.
1. Necromancers are weak! They have terror, but they are still weak!
2. Let’s give Necromancers fire! Let them burn their enemies!
3. Necromancers are overpowered! Let’s nerf terror!
4. Necromancers are overpowered! Let’s nerf fire!
5. Necromancers have no (useful) fire and weaker terror but are probably still in a good spot… hold on… aren’t they worse than when the whole thing started (point 1)?Good thing that the build I’m planning to use once my condimancer reaches lvl 80 never included Dhuumfire at all.
Good thing Dhuumfire didn’t cause enfeeble, mark of blood, grasping death and terror to get nerfed. OHWAIT
Thanks for the build diversity Anet! Now ALL our condition builds are subpar and not one is better than the other! Rejoice!
I see Necro’s from time to time saying that vitality is much better for DS oriented builds…
I have never found that to be true. Toughness has always made me feel very tanky, while vitality just delays my death by a few seconds.
My current build sits in DS for a long time and can tank many players and I have 0 stats in vitality.
No, i think you missunderstand. For necros vitality is a stat that gives indeed sustain (instead of simple delaying death like with the other professions), simply due the fact how lf regeneration works. Actually i think taking vitality and toughness 1:1 is probably the best way to gain sustain. Hence soldiers amulet is the best armulet for sustain for a necro, unlike other professions where healing power is better than vitality.
