Right so focussing a commander in a zerg that is crippling itself by being entirely Reliant on one individual is cheesy now.
Maybe it would help if 99% of the commanders weren’t stupidly easy to spot on purpose.
It’s a legit tactic and people will come up with countertactics.
Eh? What do you mean people will?
There is already tactics for disrupting commander focus and its all about cooperating with other classes (how odd). Thieves and Mesmers provide stealth to commander to drop target.
I dont really see how Anet can fix this or why they would want to. Its a tactic players use, “exploiting” the weakness of other players that scatter like chickens if the commander dies. The commander in GW2 is currently being raised to the sky as gods gift to man and if he dies everything stop. I think that’s a bad trend. The commander is important, yes, but good groups should have backups. Even better groups know what to do if there is no one that has command.
Besides, doesnt everyone want to stop zerging? That’s what’s being thrown around the forum every day, this promotes zerging, that wont stop zerging, zerging is horrible, zerging zerging zerging. That’s what mindlessly following a tag and not being able to think for yourself if its gone is, right?
And then suggestions like this to strengthen zerging comes along.
It’s a legit tactic and people will come up with countertactics.
Will they? I have been waiting for a decent anti commander sniping tactic for months now. The only thing I see happening is that people contact the enemy commander and make a “contract” to not snipe each others commander.
I am pretty sure “they” will
Change your look.
There is nothing wrong with this tactic. It is a reasonable tactic, that breaks no rules.
As far as I am concerned, it says a lot about a player, that they demand game changes around what inconveniences them, rather then learn to deal with or adapt to the situation.

Any 2 burst classes have above average potential to work well together, specially if you add stealth to the mix. They are not uncounterable but the lack of anti-stealth mechanics in the game certainly give them an edge in my opinion.
I think I’ll be playing nothing but thief tonight and tomorrow. Maybe get some friends and have a 5 thief team
A good thief will always kil you so just dont bother
Necromancer/Casual Warrior
[Team] Best WvW guild of all time. EASILY.
1. No power GM traits in Curses. I’d still like to see terror moved and another GM take its place.
2. Still no projectile reflect
3. Still no blast finishers
4. Still low mobility
5. No way for Reapers to defeat thieves. One thief could literally kill 5 reapers without getting hit. No stab + no effect of chill on thieves + slow attacks = thief wet dream.
6. Loss of access to torment if we take reaper… torment… the condition invented JUST for necros in the first place…
- Low Mobility – By design.
By design the necro contradicts anets class description as an “attrition” based class.
In other words, “design” hasn’t applied for 2 years with the necromancer.
Let’s all calm down and remember they want the reaper as big bad unstoppable boss like a PvE boss
You mean the same kind of big bad unstoppable PvE bosses people stack on in corners and never get hit by ever.

today? huh, i thought friday is the day. it’s still thursday here.
@rising dusk: how exactly does that work? did they ask you to gather stuff about the necros? or do you just pick a topic that you deem interesting and send them a summary of it?
They give us the name,a why so simple video and a little summary thursday (today) then we get a stream on friday.
The Dhuumfire thread
@rising dusk: how exactly does that work? did they ask you to gather stuff about the necros? or do you just pick a topic that you deem interesting and send them a summary of it?
They ask me to collect and report on community general consensus. My focus is fractal and dungeon specific, but on certain topics I bleed over into other areas where it makes sense. Balance has been a large topic of mine that I have been working with providing ANet feedback on recently.
It’s sad that poor Charr and Tengu’s spines de-evolved over the time since GW1. :<
Thank goodness they did, because at least they can stand realistically now. In GW1 they woulda toppled over because of how top heavy they where. The tengu i agree with though, there was no reason to hunch them over that i can think of.
Nice negative and positive feedback guys!
I know the title is kinda misleading i dont want them to be reworked just add more creation options.
I realise they are PARTLY beasts but for me they seem to be very human in a way. I mean they built huge warmachines and cities. That is why I think they should also look partly beastly and thus the flame legion charr looks best imo. I did not post this to complain about how much I hate A-Nets design choice. I was just trying to get some feedback from you guys.Buuuuuuuut no matter what I just do not like the four leg running animation XD
They are not human at all to be honest, Yes they built citys..RECENTLY, until recently they lived in tents and ruins and places they destroyed and captured, they lived more like beasts than they do now from what i remember in GW1. All the things they built are recent Iron legion things and honestly without them id think we would still see Charr living in tents and closer to the Mongolians than we would now.
Edit: Them being the Iron Legion, the builders of the Black Citadel..and the seige engines and tanks and other things..Blood and Ash dont build those things, Flame legion certainly doesnt, only Iron Legion knows how to.
A simple toggle option that stays permanent would solve all your issues then. It lets those who want to run upright do so and those who dont not to. Plus it would be nice from a RP point too.

Another riveting episode of “I don’t like X. Change it!”
The Charr look fine. They’re beastmen (and women). If a creature is faster and more comfortable running as a quadruped, why would it walk upright when it didn’t need to? Look at apes. They usually move on all fours in spite of having clearly developed hands on their forelimbs, and feet designed for walking. They walk upright when it suits them, but at a clear disadvantage. You can even see this emulated when Charr move upright. When relaxed, at a walking pace, they practically waddle. When they move with speed during combat, they take long, loping steps. Lore implies that they are a savage, ferocious species. Their stance, hunched posture, and mannerisms concerning mobility are what makes them the less human, and thus, from a lore standpoint, fearsome. Making them stand straight backed and upright with a bipedal gait humanized them to the point that they may as well not be a beast race.
TL;DR why would you play as a beast race if you don’t appreciate their beastliness?
My suggestion:
Remove all Auto-Attacks from Instant Kill No Skill Requirement Profession: Thief, Elementalist, Engineer, Ranger
Ankur
Fire/air not proccing on auto attacks is actually quite clever solution as it would perhaps bring force sigil back to sustained dps builds, leaving fire/air to more burst oriented specs, thus separating these three design philosophy wise. It would also greatly increase counterplay. +1.
I think personally I’d simplify your idea and tweak some things.
First of all, being able to regenerate HP and receiving heals from allies is a must in Death Shroud and should be implemented anyway, scratching the Unholy Sanctuary trait. Exactly as you propose – Regeneration boon and heals from allies should work in DS. Personal healing skills, healing utilities and even siphoning should not work in DS.
That alone would fix some issues.
No. If we have an entire trait line towards leeching, it needs to work through DS. Please refrain from advocating internal asynergy <3
Let’s start the baseless speculations: the picture has a hood in it, confirmed Reaper specialization.
Plant-like sword. Most likely Greatsword will be condis/bleeding based. Also the red looks like evil eyes on the sword, so there will be some torment application as well. Maybe cripple.
“He’s like a man with a fork in a world of soup.”
Abaddon Greatsword.
And they picked a rat for Necromancer. Again. Where are the Charr?

An issue of L2P? Maybe, maybe not.
So just because you didn’t know that every single class is better than us, you think all these necros who talk about the shortcomings of our profession, don’t know how to play?
Really?
The corruptions were a badly thought out way to implement the self-harm of Necromancers from GW1. What ANet forgot to include was that in GW1 self-harm abilities were good because they were either extremely powerful, had HP instead of mana cost, and/or had much lower CDs than they otherwise would have. In addition the use of them limited your build a bit, you could only have so many of them before your build was ineffective because you would just kill yourself, so it often forced you to take heals and/or a dedicated healer. And sometimes they introduced a cyclic combo setup, like with Touch Necros, which would spam high energy low-cd abilities to gain HP/deal damage, then “spend” that HP to gain the energy back and repeat.
The mana is irrelevant now, so the only reason to have self-harm is for abilities that are essentially stronger than they would normally be, but with harm costs. So basically, what Revenant has is what we should have: skills that self-apply conditions but are much stronger than they “should” be, and also include ways to deal with those conditions.
I liked the article, and found it amusing that the one place where a developer might have seen it, it was censored by moderators for a pretty laughable reason. At least the reddit moderators can’t censor my specialist reports, sheesh.
Lich form atm is more of a liability then anything. Its true it is VERY strong can change the flow of a battle completely if played perfectly but the amount of reflect, inv and the lack of any real defense in Lich form makes the form not very affective. Rampage is a whole different monster and since I don’t use it or get stomped by it too much I won’t comment on it. My opinion leave Lich as is or make it more proactive. Personally when I transform to Lich I feel like I’m in a cage and all I can do is TRY to land #1.
people need to learn to play this game really. Look what happened to turret engies nerfed to the ground killing a build completely, top players didn’t even have problems against turrets, anet should stop listening to the casual crowd.
turrets were too rewarding… it gave bad players 0 motivation to get better
i have no issues with lich form besides getting hit through the wall, because logic~
rampage is different story, as said before, too much moblity for such high dmg and literary no way to control war in rampage atm
[Teef] guild :>
This is such a joke, do you realize how squishy necros have to be all match for lich form to be good? Also rampage makes it so warriors have less movement around the map without having to give up other needed utility skills. Also let me point out today vs a guardian he literally blocked all my attacks while in rampage form. He used his focus blocks with aegis with shelter and his elite which was renewed focus. Literally my rampage did nothing since he was waiting for it.
I love the community ability to literally complain about everything. Seriously turrets are basically dead, you cant use supply crate for anything now in group fights. You get what class is most worthless or worst topics and literally everyone has a different answer. Seriously lich form can even get moa, and rampage is only useful if your build has no stability, cant blind, and if the player puts some power in his build.
I find the many choose what happens to the meta since there in ability to learn how to fight vs other classes/skills/ change there own build. Lets blame anet for rangers ranging freely or the nade engy just free casting since everyone has to fight in the circle with there glassy build. Jeez lets forget that certain builds can have great roles in the game but no lets generalize classes as a whole such as these skills.
Rampage is completely out of control. don’t mind lich, you can actually dodge the projectiles or run away. Rampage has too many gap closers and hits for insane amounts. it’s an I-Win button for bads, and in the hands of a skilled player is OP.
no, both these skills were well kitten broken for more than 2 years and have been finally fixed, and are working well as intended.
no further changes are necessary.
thank you.
are you for real?…. disenguage for 25 to 30 seconds… then melt them. If you’re trying to best them in this state…. L2P
What’s your point? Ignorance is bliss? Or are you trying to make it sound like the quality of a class is solely determined by the player’s attitude?
The shortcomings that are being pointed out on the forum are objectively argued, not knowing about them doesn’t make those issues any less real.
In PvE necros simply can’t bring the same team support as other classes while also doing the least amount of damage. This isn’t up for debate, it’s been tested and methematically proven. As for PvP, the reason necros aren’t part of the meta is because their poor defense makes them a liability.
“I don’t have mobility to get away when i’m ganked 2v1” as if any other class would have…
Yes actually, other classes can escape fights more easily, that is a fact.
And another fact is that the core defense of the class negates not just any healing but an entire trait line that is specifically dedicated to heals and siphons. That is a huge design flaw, and it’s been in the game for almost 3 years!
So tell me, why wouldn’t we complain about things like these? And where else should we do it if not on the official gw2 forum?
