Players will have every right to complain for two reasons:
- Revenant gameplay in all specialzations being both better designed and stronger
- Having to buy HoT to stay effective.
In the end, what absolutely needs to happen is every specialization needs to be viable (=playable, desirable, balanced) in a significant portion of the game, regardless of whether you play as vanilla necro or HoT chronomancer. Otherwise we will continue to have 3-spec metas, that rend anything else useless and forgotten tratlines like Blood Magic, using which is considered trolling or being a total noob.

Spirits aren’t an AI build. They don’t fight and the only movement they do is follow the ranger like a mini. When you see them attack? It’s the ranger activating their active skill by actively pushing a button actively.
Aside from that they just provide boons like banners that are destructible.
The level of ego and crud talk in this thread is why so few PvP in this game. It sucks the life and fun out of the game more than any build ever has.

Stop lumping spirits into that grouping only for the body blocking, they are just bad banners that can be killed with a secondary effect with two interrupt chances.
You don’t have to take this trait line if you don’t like it. You’ve got the choice, either you take the elite traitline and have the new resolve or, you don’t take it and keep the old one
There has to be SOME freaking trade off… If they all were straight boosts and who whammies, chances are it would make the elite almost too necessary… Unlike Chronomancer where the minor adds a shatter, Guardians gains 3 very distinctive ability uses, and they retain their old effects in some way.
If you prefer the old, just don’t play a DH.

Devs have not stated that Dragonhunter is meant to be dishing out support at all. The way I see it, it’s a compromise. You can heal and stick a target or you can heal and cleanse allies. You choose; it’s not a nerf if you decide you would rather have the immobilize than the cleanse.
So your saying you would rather have a silence and a bs pbaoe skill, than 2 ally buffs that could buff minions and allies with lifesteal and more damage?

Shouts can be made to buff allies’ ability to harm enemies, which is very likely because of Orders, and would be great support.
As for warhorn, the only change I’d really make to it is maybe a blast finisher on 4, and changing the locusts to not deal damage unless you are already in combat (so they don’t put you in combat when you run past some boxes).
Oh snap, it would be so baller if we got shouts but they were spun to be like GW1 Orders. Order of the Vampire, Order of Pain… That would be awesome.
They have no party support utilities.
You didn’t get it, necro warhorn is already good, so changing it to give group support when we have utilities and traits that are bad and need reworks isn’t productive. Anet’s effort would be better spent to buff utilities and traits to give support instead of reworking two skills that are already quite good in their respective roles.

The warhorn is actually in a very good place, it is selfish, but that is fine because it is effective. It gives one of our only sources of scaling defense in the LF regen of locust swarm. Wail of doom is also really useful. They could add a blast finisher to wail of doom, but otherwise I wouldn’t change this weapon. Necros could get group support from other places, traits, and utilities for instance.

i take everything back. our spec better have some sweet stuff. but knowing anet, how they treat this class the live stream for its ready up will be underwhelming and the mechanics will be terrible. oh but i fully expect DH to get nerfed before its released. There is no way some of those skills will be released in their current states.
only one thing i took from this is that burn will do a decent amount of damage so dhuumfire will tick for a nice amount. so thats something for condi necros.
I’m confused as to why people say Guardian has no mobility. They have a leap on their GS, a teleport on their sword, a 1,200 range teleport meditation, and a good amount of swiftness if they need it. If that’s lacking mobility then what is necro? lmao

Fixing unlucky streaks I can get behind but punishing the those who had lady luck smile on them, no. Players will start to fear getting something good.
The problem is that, while it’s not totally symmetric, you can’t break up the unlucky streaks without at least somewhat breaking up the lucky streaks (holding expected drop rates constant). If you want to break up unlucky streaks, you necessarily break up some lucky streaks as well.

I think we all need to thank anet for the great december 10th patch. Removing solo queue was amazing, and I absolutely LOVE the new feature of queuing for 10 minutes only in the heart of the mists and not being able to go to pve, hotjoin, dueling, wvw. I love that, with my busy real life I am excited to play a game which has me locked to my pc sat in a boring area for 10 minutes at a time.
So +1 to OP. Anet are the best. Also those new maps they have been churning out are amazing. I am massively enjoying the new temple of the silent storm map. The last made competitive map, which was released 3 years ago. The speed of updates is fantastic. And the balance patches are really good. I loved the last balance patch on april 15th 2014. I really enjoy getting passive procced by fire/air combos and losing 10k of my health to an auto attack.
Really this game is great. Their updates have really improved the game.

Edit: And if it isn’t air/fire, it will be some other bullkitten causing 3-4 condis to be applied on random hits through sigils/procs (pretty much all with NO animation until after the damage has been done). There is just so much sloppy design layered upon sloppy design in this game. It is a shame because it is still the best mmorpg out there (in my opinion) and still has so much potential to be an e-sport game.

The metagame is going into the direction of pure direct damage since condis are easily countered by aoe cleanse spam and the stupid amount of damage that can kill people before your conditions even tick a few times.
I fully support coordination and bursts even tho stealth oneshots can be kinda sad when you die faster than the human reaction time and only random evades can save you if you dont have access to stealth.
The classes viability is highly determined by its sigil synergie and incase you can always play air/fire sigil on zerker. Support can´t keep up with the stupid amounts of damage dealt by it which has nothing to do with coordinated burst.
What equivalent of condition sigil would it take to keep up with this?

A meta game with no place for condition damage or bunkers that requires thieves for invisibility because there is no way to actually deal with this damage except hiding is not healthy for this game. I can´t imagine anyone can be happy with this lack of diversity in competitive play.
On another note there is not just sigil synergie, but also rune synergie that has to be adressed . Too many runes require active heals while some classes only have viable passive heals. A special case here is vampirism rune, I remember Svanir rune once got nerfed because people easily avoided punishment for mistakes, if you look at vampirism rune now , it took this problem to a whole new level.

As customers, I’d say we have a right to be frustrated. We bought the game, some of us still pay for things, because we enjoy the game and like to support them, but they have proven to be pretty negligent at times… For instance, since release Moa, simply because it is a “transform” kills all minion pets. Or minions COMPLETELY stop attacking and stand around. Then on the other hand, they take a (broken) spec such as turrets, and with AMPLE warning, completely destroy it, rather than allocating proper resources to improve its design instead. Balance patches went from every few months to every 6 months (granted now they’re focusing primarily on HoT).
Then, after a lot of legitimate reasons to be frustrated, having employees say that their problem is that you write things in a “negative light” and act snarky. You’re kitten right I put something in a negative light when you refuse to do your jobs for very obvious and game breaking issues…
Point being, frustration is natural and frankly, pretty well earned. The game is nearly 3 years old. At this point they shouldn’t have basic skills that are literally completely broken and unresponsive.
I was nice for the first 2 years, I’ve done more than a fair share of write ups and tried reaching out. Anymore, its just annoying to try to get them to recognize that there’s a legit issue without them literally laughing about real problems that have existed in the game for ages.
