Get rid of all Nourishments in WvW

First, with the new Power Toughness crit damage gear, the scaling is crazy. On my thief, i get 168 power from sharpening stones and that is HUGE! Then with Plate of truffle steak dinner, that’s and extra +200 power + 10% crit damage. I dont think 368 power +10% crit damage is fair but I’m going to use it because it has that extra edge. There are also builds that revolve around omnomberry ghost’s still. A build should not revolve around food, it should only be a bonus. Another good example is lemongrass, It gives -40% condition duration. For all you people who have condition builds, you understand that -40% condition duration is huge. Conditions literally fall off. Scooby has a made a good point. For example look in spvp, food is not allowed but in wvw it is? Reason why, it creates imbalances. another example is ascended gear. Even though its only a 5% increase on accessories, it is a massive bonus.

End point, yes food is great for those extra buffs but it doesn’t create even ground at all. Put on a certain food and totally counter other builds.

*This is not a troll thread at all if you try to impose that.

**Edit Another point, 165~ power from sharpening stones + 200 power +10% crit damage, +250 power from stacks of bloodlust, +might stacks 6-10stacks of might average(192-320power) +5% or 10% damage from sigil of force and night. that is a total of 935power +10% crit damage + sigil of force or night. Again why is food needed?

Some foods need buffed, some need nerfed, some foods need added, but nourishment should stay. You shouldn’t look at food buffs as a sign of elitism and be discouraged, but instead try using them yourself. If your problem is something that can’t be solved like how some foods are vastly greater compared to others and only benefit your build, then roll a build that does work better or is more viable with food buffs.

Nourishment is a part of your build, but one you have to pay for continually instead of all at once like gear. Think of it as time limited trait. For those of you saying food is cheap, no it really isn’t , the cost stacks up quite a bit overtime, and don’t t6 tool buffs take t6 mats which are 5s and upward?

Stomp or be stomped, wvw is wvw.

Lupicus using grub skill on necro minions

Hey folks, I can’t seem to find the thread, but there was one that asked about necro reanimator trait, and lupicus using his grub skill on them. This behavior effected Necro minions, Mesmer clones, Ranger pets, and even the follower NPC.
I’ve now modified the skill so that it will only target players from now on as a priority before looking at minions/pets/turrets/NPCs.

I’d like to ask that if anyone finds a monster/boss whose mechanics unfairly target pets and minions, to please post about it here in this thread, and I will try to look into them to see what can be done.

EDIT:
This work has not been patched into the game yet.

MORE EDITS:
Jade Maw: I’m leaving the beam as it is for the moment on the jade maw. There’s arguments for both sides, but there is also intentional gameplay in using pets/turrets/minions that I’d rather rather not nuke, that I think is actually pretty clever.

Subject Alpha: His ice attack AOE will primarily target players, and NPCs shouldn’t get the rings either, which means you shouldn’t see the ice attack even happen on clones/pets/minions/npc.

Fractal Jelly: Now will only try to eat players if they are around.

CoE Bjarrl the Rampager: Rush attack will now only target players.

Arrah Dwayna Sparks: Will try to attack the closest player. They might default from time to time to attacking pets, but the behavior should be greatly tightened up.

Creating a Charr Cub

Well you see, when a Mommy Charr and a Daddy Charr are on extended deployment in a cramped bivouac, sometimes the Daddy Charr will look at the Mommy Charr and go “How you doin’ baby?” and if the Mommy Charr has hidden enough whiskey in her kit, sometimes she’ll sigh and roll her eyes and say “…all right, but only if you’re quick”, and the Daddy Charr nods and goes “awwwright” because Quick is practically his Warband name (AM I RIGHT LADIES? HAHA).

And then several months later (I’m betting 10-15 total due to body mass and heightened development state at birth), Cubs!

… what do you mean I should actually read the OP?

Am I the only one who loves this class?

Well, I also love the class. SFX of it, to be precise. Most people do – otherwise they wouldn’t sit here waiting for bugfixes etc. The idea for “how a necro should work”, more or less, suits what I wanted to get. I like how skills work (or how they should), I like how they look. This is what most people mean by “loving the necro” I think.

What I don’t like are numbers behind it – and I think this is a common concern. It’s not that necro is inefficient – he can be, many people proved it. The real issue is that necro doesn’t have many ways to be efficient and lacks variety. People get tired of using the same build over and over again for hours and hours on end.
After that, risk : reward and effort : reward ratios seem to be off. I like to work for what I get and I enjoy a “hard class” (as opposed to a "mash two buttons repeatedly class) – OP is probably the same kind of person. Necro is not an easy class and most people find it challeging and thus – fun.

The discrepancy between “loving the class” and general consensus that necro is subpar is not really that great. Many people assume that necro players are complaining because the class sucks. It doesn’t. Most of complains are towards bugs, invability of many builds and incompatibility of class mechanics with few of the builds that work. That is why people are complaining, not because they don’t like the class or are “emo kids that would like to rework it”. The “rework” ideas concern the Death Shroud, which is a good mechanic and can be liked, but only as far as one’s build improves it. It’s not a mechanic that suits all builds, and that is the problem many people have with it. We all know that DS was initially a “downed state” mechanic for necros and it mostly stayed that way – we don’t see our UI in it, we can’t see our hp, boons, conditions, can’t use our build – only the 4 skills we were given with it. Many poeple don’t like that – especially those who like their necros built towards minions or conditions and are seeing DS as a mechanic which impairs their build (which it does).
I wouldn’t call those people “whiny emo kids” as spoink did. I think they have all the rights to expect a class mechanic which works with every build, not only DS-centric builds. I also liked DS because I built towards it. But then I wanted to try something different and … it’s either making DS viable or doing what you like. As long as both work toward the same build it’s ok. But if not – you start thinking if DS could be designed better.

Most of the people (aside from trolls) would only like to get what they were promised: a couple of varied, viable builds, a class mechanic that works with each of them (not with one or two), bugfixes and proper Risk : Reward and Effort : Reward playstyle compared to other classes (it either has to be High Risk : High Reward / High Effort : High Reward or Medium / Medium or even Low : Low – but not something like High Risk : Medium Reward). That’s all.

Edit: well, and maybe a few combo finishers. These would be cool ;-)

Why would we waste our time trying to get necromancer’s issues brought to the developers attention if we didn’t love the class?

They don’t do damage underwater either. Trident Clones however apply Confusion on each hit, so they can do damage indirectly through that. Staff Clones can do it too through Burning and Bleeding.

Do I have to make video prof, or can’t you guys and girls log in a try it your self. No conditions just normal hits does damage. Not much, very litle, but they DO damage.
