I’ve got an HoM FDS skin on one of my alts. A few weeks ago, I happened to bring that character into a PvP map for dailies, which prompted a conversation something like this:

PvP 1: “Geez, not another glowy weapon!”
PvP 2: “Who would even want those?”
Me: “You mean my fiery sword?”
PvP 1: “Yeah, those new weapons skins look so out of place.”
PvP 2: “Anet should stick to designs that look more appropriate for this game.”

You can do what some players are doing and AFK farm leather and such in Mount Maelstrom killing nightmare court. I’ve seen them having their heal skill in auto cast which may prevent the game from auto-logging them to the character select screen. Another place that I have seen people is in Harathi Hinterlands killing centaurs.

I haven’t personally done any of these so I can’t vouch what the gold per hour is but it appears to be something that can be done AFK. You’ll just need to be on a class such as a ranger so you can use your pets to kill them. You’ll get the various loot bags which can contain the expensive materials.

Another option would be to do this on a character that matches the level for that area so the weapon/armor drops are of that range. You can then salvage them for those expensive components.

If this is “sanctioned”, which most people assume it to be given the rise in what we’re seeing across Tyria and the mish-mosh responses on the issue ( here and here ) can it be clarified and the mods/staff/Michael Henninger/ Chris Cleary/Gaile Gray add that to a sticky somewhere so these aren’t popping up? At least get a merge going?

Along with this, at the end of Nightfall plays a cinematic during which we see Koss and Melonni on a farm. Looks like they settled down, married, and lived on a farm – likely the Dejarin Estate.

The next GW: Beyond episode was supposed to feature Koss and his relationship with Melonni (à la Hearts of the North with Keiran and Gwen) but it got cancelled because GW2.

The Elona arc was going to focus on Palawa Joko’s return to power, according to what’s on the wiki. Beyond that, I know there was plans for a third mesmer hero to be added and hints that Forgotten might’ve been involved but that’s all we were really told.

And I’ve always thought it would include be build up for Glint’s death that happened in EoD (explaining her mention of heroes returning to kill her after they found out about the Elder Dragons and before they realized she was on her side, and explaining why there were no Forgotten).

Any chance we could get activated skillsets displayed under build/weapon sets on the hero page? Necromancer has four skillsets that are activated and on a timer. Plague, Lich Form, Reaper Shroud, Death Shroud. It would be nice to be able to look at them without the hassle required currently. Druid and the Celestial Avatar skillset would be another one.

What looks like chaos is actually … not as chaotic as it looks. Find a guild video that hopefully has comms routed into the mix so you can hear what the commander is saying. Once you get a sense of how things flow and how a ZvZ fight actually goes you will have a lot more fun. Of course, the only way for this to happen is to PLAY.

The most fun fights for me aren’t blob vs blob (which is how a lot of T1 fights go), it’s in the 10v10 – 20v20 range.

If you hate doors you should absolutely get into WvW.

That creates an unbalanced match.
They need to just stick with alpine until they figure out how to cycle the maps on a 1 or 2 week rotation.

If neutral monsters in wvw are killing you… It’s not stealth/reflects that are causing you to have a hard time.

Problem is I don’t know that. Mesmer is near ledge and disappears. Did she use torch 4 and drop down ledge? Should I go check that? Maybe I should start frantically swinging my sword to thin air in case that Mesmer turned invisible and blinked on top of me. Maybe that Mesmer instead ported and I’m a fool for doing the above. In any case if she catches me off-guard I will die.

I’m not saying stealth is OP, it’s just not fun to play against and could be fixed.

That’s sorta the point of stealth, you know to be able to hide your movement/position from the enemy? If the mesmer ported, shes probably not going to catch you off guard if you mean Waypointed out… If you mean portaled, I’d strongly suggest looking on the ground it’s really not hard to see the portal entry.

As for frantic swings. Watch the animation, if you have a multi-stage 1 (many are) you will notice it tends to stick to the first swing till it connects with something (visable or invisable) then moves to the second.

They could have done this with raids but nope. Neither WvW or sPvP. Especially sPvP. Imagine how confused everyone would be at not being able to narrow down just 5 OP classes every time because it’s 5 man groups normally?

A simple option to turn it on or off. Best of both worlds.

From my understanding :

- Jalis is designed as the bunker.
- Mallyx is designed as the condi creep.
- Shiro is designed as the power creep.
- Ventarii is designed as a rear line support.
- Glint is designed as the front line support.

And the main issue of ventarii is simply the stone that is more a deadweight than anything. For me what it need is a default follow mode and make the utilities skills, that are not the healing skill, ground targeted. From my point of view it would solve 80% of the issues of this legend.

Koss is so cool, he froze time around himself.

Find an empty server and duel your friends. Use meta builds, builds you’ve encountered, and things you’ve thought up. This gives you a chance to learn skill animations with less clutter.

Practice combos and rotations. Watch other players to learn combinations and rotations. Practice these with what you found to be effective in your duels. Use target dummies, use duels, use PvE, just keep practicing.

Play with an aim to learn. Don’t worry about winning or losing, worry about learning. Pay attention to what works, what doesn’t work, and try to figure out who killed you, how they killed you, and what you might have been able to do to avoid it. You may not always get all this information in, but even one thing that you can recognize is helpful in the future. You don’t have to figure it out all at once, just piece by piece.

When you are dueling and playing, go in with a plan of approach in mind and put it to the test. This allows you to structure your learning.

Experiment. Try different professions, different meta builds, different builds you think up, different in-game tactics, etc. Then, just like with dueling and practicing, spend time thinking about what worked, what did not work, and why that was the case. Wide exposure doesn’t mean you have to multi-class, it just means you are aware of what other professions do, how they play, what to expect from them, skill animations, etc.

Recognize when you are panicking and try to calm yourself. Having a plan of approach in mind, and aiming to execute that plan to the best of your ability, should help with this.

Give yourself permission to fail. Every failure is an opportunity to get better. Don’t queue right away after a game, spend a few moments thinking about it and what you learned from it. Discuss it with your friends you’ve queued with. If you get too frustrated give yourself a break, walk away, and come back later when you are more calm, more collected, and ready to start learning again.

I have very little experience with GW1, and I never played its PvP. I’ve read a bit about it and watched a few videos. Maybe you can talk more about that so we have a better understanding of what it is you feel you are missing.

I don’t get why so many people are against this. Why not give a transgender character some prominence. I just want it to be a good story lol. As long as it’s a good story I don’t care what sexuality the characters are.

It’s not that people are against a transgender character, it’s that people don’t want a character shoehorned in, for the sake of it.

And you’re all assuming that’s what the OP wants. I’m pretty sure Mr. Penguin wants a well told story just as much as anyone here. Background characters gain prominence in stories all the time, so if an element of the story calls for it, why not Sya?

He wasn’t Sya thrust in to the light just because Sya is trans. No other reason. We still know very little about the people in DE 2.0, we don’t really know all that much about DE, unless you’ve read the book.

And if it’s because he wants someone overcoming adversity, my PC necro did that, she grew up on the streets, she never knew her parents. The first time she leave the city she saves a village and becomes a hero, she has the ear of the captain of the Seraph. Saves the queen, joins a order, rises through the ranks quickly, becomes second.in command of an army, kills 2 dragons. Now if that’s not inspiring I don’t know what is.

Plenty of Sylvari had to overcome adversity too both PC and NPC. If Anet has a good story to tell I don’t see why Sya can’t develop into something more important as well.

But why dose it have to be Sya? Because they are trans? Is that the only reason? Why not someone else. What makes her special enough to be elevated above the rest? I can tell you why. Because trans has been in the media as of late so it’s the “cool” thing to be supporting. That is the only reason. If it was because of just raising awareness of transgender then this thread would have come up asking this when the character was introduced. That is the truth, and you can handle the truth!

Up to Anet to decide. If they have a good story that includes Sya I’m all for it. If they have a good story to tell that doesn’t include Sya I’m all for it. Why do you think if Sya becomes a prominent character it instantly means it’s pushing an agenda? It just means Anet has a story they want to tell that includes her.

I couldn’t care less, if you had read through the thread I’m probably the only one here who has had a family member go through with going from a man to a woman. So I can say with hand on heart I don’t care. What I do care is when someone comes on the forum with out a clue about what that decision can do to a person, a family, just because they think it would be “cool” annoys me to no end. I don’t want to see the impact this choice has on a person and there family be trivialized in a game. You could never do it justice. It’s not something you wake up.one day and decide it’s what you are going to do today. People who are your friends might not be after, family members might disown you. This is a big thing. Sure the same.could be said about being gay. But there are a lot less trans people out there than gay.

But you keep on talking about something you know jack about, because there is nothing cool or hip about it. Want to make a difference to the transgender population, go out there and help the transgender people in your community, a game won’t help people in the real world, no matter how good the story is.

They don’t. People in Tyria don’t care. Its a nonissue over there. It’s the OP that wants to bring issues from this world into that world in order to score sjw points.

I noticed in the latest Guild Chat that Tyler seemed really glum, almost as if he expected all his recent work to get torn to shreds by us.. Afraid of the torches and pitchforks we’ve brandished so commonly since launch.

Well, that’s not the case from me at least. I can say I honestly feel like a new era has dawned, and I very much look forward to seeing what they do next. My personal boycot of the gem store is over, my faith is restored, I’m willing to invest in the game’s future and have an outlook on the future that faded way back in 2013.

Happy workers are good workers, let’s give the guys something nice to read for a change.
