most my wxp isnt from killing zergs.
it all comes from flipping keeps/towers as fast as possible with as little resistance as possible. it is only possible because of the tier my server is in and as soon as we move up/if we move up, this will no longer be possible.

also tagging isnt the best option. zerg busting the same group over and over again will reward u very little.
you need to rotate which servers zerg u want to hit and space it out so that when u do hit them you will be rewarded with 40+ wxp

It’s sad that pvdoor is the optimal way to gain PVP ranks

I wouldn’t mind having one of those weapons, but not going to pay money for RNG. Guess I will do key runs and see if I can get one that way. (Human, warrior, commoner).

I tried to be optimistic, but I’m seriously starting to doubt Arenanet even plays their own game.

I actually have very harsh critique in game design for their “resident economist”, but I’ll restrain myself because this is an official forum post.

While it’s true RNG boxes makes ArenaNet profit, if they don’t clean up their act I’m sure the company will lose integrity. Ironically, what ArenaNet themselves are doing is Russian Roulette with their company’s reputation.

Can’t remember the last time a BL key dropped for me- but then I’m mostly in wvw and they don’t seem to drop at all there, or must be very rare.

Got about 150 chests and 0 keys on my account.

I have Eternity, Bolt, Infinite Light. My current gold is at 681g and
I listed a third Incinerator up on the tp. Pretty much future proof for new stuff.

Around lvl 5-7 on a number of alts (yeah I ain’t gonna stop playing them all just because Anet wants me to)
It’s a broken system anyway. Just got to rename karma farm to Wxp farm and we are good to go.

Anet missed an incredible opportunity to reward the guys who defend those camps, buff those yaks, build oil, and all those little things that make those wooden structured turn into actual fortifications.

Building up a broken cannon/oil should = WxP. Repairing a gate is currently the only outright “defensive” thing that currently rewards WxP if a tower/keep/castle is defended or lost.

Someone awesome (Hydro <3) suggested that there be WxP based yak escort upgrades that people could build on yaks such as a potent flamethrower. Give people that want to escort yaks and sit in towers on sentry a reward or small advantage like the current system rewards zerging!

Well, having only faced Aurora Glade and Far shiverpeaks after the patch, the biggest blobs i have seen were from Far Shiverpeaks tho. That said, Aurora Glade knows how to do it as well (and Gandara as well i assume)! Here is a funny screenshot. Check chat! We must have been worth a lot of WXP coz u all chased us like mad men! ;-D

The most recent update has finally realized most of the hopes and dreams I had regarding world versus world all those years ago when we first started talking about it around the office (somewhere in the 2007 or 2008 area).

I hope youre referring to the ability to finally see everyone on the screen, and not the creation of karma trains.

Advice to Anet: BIGGER MAPS!

This is probably the biggest reason why our guild would move to Elder Scrolls Online when it comes out. That and my Guardian might get an actual ranged weapon.

If DAoC was never previously released and went on the market today, even with updated graphics, it would be destroyed in player reviews, abandoned and made a punchline. Especially at $15 a month.

DAoC was good for what it was at the time. That does not mean it was the RvR paradise most people seem to make it out to be. Who here was there for launch? remember the hate threads? Even after the RvR community got established, man did everyone bash the game.

It’s only now that we are safely in the land of fond rememberance that we could ever think that DAoC was the Eden of large scale PvP.

Honestly GW2 and DAoC are so frigging different and so many levels that comparing them is pointless. It’s not a contest.

The only thing to be gained out of the DAoC discussion is ‘What did they do right?’ and emulate it in GW2, and ‘What did they do wrong?’ and eliminate that from GW2.

GW2 takes a beating from the DAoC community in the present, but I am 100% positive that 5 years from now, players will be saying the same things about GW2 as they do about DAoC. These will be ‘the good old days’ and whatever new game is out will be crap.

One of the main reasons I was so drawn to this game was the WvW aspect which I have missed since my player days of DAoC. The only thing I really miss from DAoC that isn’t in this game was the ability by rangers and infiltrators to scale keep walls and take them from within (I really miss the old stealth zergs)
While the WvW in DAoC was one of a kind I have to give it to GW2 for making it feel more like the Camelot zerg days.

I played both. I did have a lot of fun with DAoC once I got past the horrid unbelievably long PvE grind but then they added an additional grind to the part I loved most which was RR with ranks. Thus I left for Shadowbane.

Overall I have had much more fun with GW2 than DAoC which is saying something because for its time I had a lot of fun in DAoC.

GW2 just removed so much of the tedious boring elements of most MMOs and you can just play and enjoy the game rather then feeling you are working at a second job.

Please Anet, allow commanders to have 2 options when leading. First option would be to display tag for guild only, and the 2nd option to display for everyone else. There is way to much full BL zerging going on with culling gone. Most people now are just ignoring the fact that there are multiple commanders on the field and simply joining one massive force which in turn causes every server to become a full bl vs full bl vs full bl

Daoc was awesome at lunch but unbalanced as all hell. Anyone remember being able to one shot sitting targets as an archer? Smite Clerics?
The 3 way template was new so yeah of course it felt ‘Epic’ as there was nothing to compare it to.
GW2 will grow and more features (taken from Daoc) will be implemented. I’m not going to bank on it being the holy grail of RvR type games but it has promise.

Yeah Cheerio o/ Was nice to begin with but you turned out to be utterly disappointing. I enjoyed the epic fights down in the low tiers when Gunnar’s fought on it’s own two feet. I am ready for the fall and ready for the fight back. I suggest you clear off and ask Anet for your own server as you’re nothing but destructive. I pity the server you move to.

Congratulations to GH. Without Xaoc your server will be a much better place to play.

btw, is KISS still playing on GH?

Xoac kind of messed things up for themselves.
You are too big to come on another server unnoticed, you will unbalance a matchup with your presence. You also have done a number of serverhops recently so no other server really takes you seriously if you would join them next.
Your basically a guild without a homeserver atm.

The fact that you call [PRXM] a PvE guild says it all. Xaoc are hardly PvP either, you are PvD if you meet an enemy you panic and change border.

I hope you go to SFR or somewhere you are welcome and dont defecate a nice server like Piken Square.

It were events in [Xaoc] itself rather than Gunnar’s Hold – GH always said it’s not a server for glory seekers and isn’t much bothered about points and tiers. The previous Chaos management, including Champion of Khorne, understood that and they were fine about it, valuing GH for the community factor, trying to bring Chaos closer to it. This changed with internal changes within [Xaoc], going back to the ‘victory at all cost’ mentality, with Khorne leaving them and the server, and then with the existing GH guilds refusing to form up a ‘wvw alliance’ with [Xaoc] who still refuse to join the community site and mumble which already have gathered most of the active GH guilds.

I wish you guys all the best, everyone has fun from different things, hopefully you will find yours elsewhere, but do not put any kind of blame behind your decision on how GH works.
