In my honest opinion, dungeons in this game are by far the weakest part of the game. I am not completely blaming the dungeon design team though because the lack of trinity makes it harder to design good dungeons. However, it’s not rocket science that trash shouldn’t hit so hard for the rewards they offer. Also the bosses need to be large enough for their dodge attacks to be seen by people.

I feel farming is mandatory, so why keep nerfing it?

I’m not going for a legendary, but I have to ask.

If you have two people who have already fulfilled all requirements to getting a legendary except obtain the precursor, how does the person who chooses to “play the game as it was meant to be” win out over the person who chooses to farm cof 1 repeatedly, and pump fresh gold into their pockets, and into the economy? (aside from general enjoyment for the game)

As far has lodestones go, Anet already made the statement that dungeons were meant to be challenges for coordinated groups, so for some people running dungeons isn’t an option.

Which leaves…

Farming, killing a monster over and over for whatever lodestone or mat you need. Now personally I don’t see anything wrong with this, and I think it is fine as is aside from a few instances, but it would be wrong to not call this farming imo.

The economy in this game is just awful, rare items are ridiculously overpriced, and gold is too scarce for people to afford much without farming. Add to this that ANet seem to nerf farming spots pretty frequently and it’s just a chore.

I understand that easier gold = even higher prices, hence why the economy as a whole is screwed, I mean compare it to WoW, where yes, lots of stuff is overpriced, but the average player can more readily afford most stuff, and make gold at a good pace.

I feel farming is mandatory, so why keep nerfing it?

I regret putting so much time into making them. I put all of my focus into grinding these skins and in the end it just feels hallow. After making Eternity, my fourth, I stopped playing. I couldn’t conjure up the will to make another. They were the only thing to really do PvE wise but they weren’t worth the effort looking back on it.

Well, most of the “1613 posts” are just whinning without arguments… If there are 100 posts that really point somenthing it’s too much.

For myself… I don’t see a problem. I’ve never used rams on towers/keeps that are defended by ACs (even tho I know I could naked-dance under it) because that was simply plain stupid and now there is a major reason to not do so.

Dear Anet,

Please change how ballista work. Currently we need a target just to shoot a ballista projectile, which of course make it hard to achieve its fullest capability (as you cannot shoot ballista anymore if your target out of target range/stealth/anything which make you lost a target).

Make it so we can shoot ballista projectile without a target.

The concept is same as any range weapon, where you can shoot anywhere with or without a target

There is a whole lot of negativity floating around these forums right now. And those folks are welcome to their opinion of course.

But let me add a positive voice to the mix. I think the WvW changes in the latest patch are a step in the right direction. And here is why:

1) Making siege weapons more significant and tactically useful. This started with the ballista masteries. And it has continued with the arrowcart buff and masteries. There are many complaints about arrowcarts being too powerful now, and they might be slightly. But I think a lot of people are ignoring a couple points. First, the range increase on arrowcarts allows them to be used much more offensively to clear parapets of enemy siege, you just need proper placement and some flash builders. Second, and this is an assumption, other siege is going to be buffed to compensate. I could see a damage boost to ram damage(and perhaps added health against siege), and a slight(500-1000) range increase on catapults fitting in nicely with the buffed arrowcarts.

But making siege more powerful is a change in the right direction. Even if it isn’t fully realized yet.

2) The 30 second delay on contestation swords, gives small parties and wannabe ninjas a grace period. And allows large forces the ability to mount surprise attacks.

This makes the game more dynamic, and adds a level of tactical complexity that is welcome.

3) Adding WXP to non-capping related things.

Very much a good change, but don’t stop there. Add WXP for upgrading buildings, and more WXP for defending.

4) Quality of life fixes. Siege despawn timers, siege blue prints account bound, a simple clarification on dolyak scoring, and others.

All good changes.

So in conclusion, good work Devon and company. The vocal minority will always have a knee-jerk reaction to changes. But some of us understand and appreciate the direction you’re taking WvW, even if at times certain things are unbalanced(until others changes go in).

Thats not always possible because there are spots which are very hard to hit.
Even if you improve rams by 100% they would still be an easy target for sAC.

Hard does not mean impossible. Change tactics in the field to deal with this new threat.

Yeah that SOTG was pretty useless. I didn’t hear anything I couldn’t just read in some bullet points on the forum. Huge changes to wvw and they presenters were just like “ok”.

No, what would happen is the big guilds would fight each other, the small guilds would fight each other, and the smallguilds would likely also develop more tactics for when they face the big ones, which might even cause them to kill a large group.

I was running with some guys from GH (Holden Horde) one night in t1, was about 5 of us, and we bumped into a zerg. Not the same as an organised guild group, and it wasn’t a blob, jsut a zerg, but we managed to kill quite a few of them before we decided to run off simply because we were playing smart.

We were 5 and killed a large amount, of course it would be harder against an organised guild, but you would also be more (since you say the average size is 10-15, or somebody did at least), and likely these large guild groups would only be as big as a group as we fought then, on reset.

This is my exact thoughts. If a larger guild came onto GH right now my first port of call wouldn’t be the forums to cry or QQ about it. My first port of call would be to engage them in game to see what they are made of, if we wiped then I would look at what we could do better to improve ourselves and I would continue that until we had improved enough or adapted enough in order to counter them and their tactics.

Saying that some of the “better guilds” coming to opposing servers is destroying the game is actually very naive at best and down right stupid at worst.

Adapt, overcome, develop yourselves, you don’t need to get into huge blobs to do it…

Fine if it’s one or two guilds. We actually had a really good matchup against RoS when it was just VcY and RiOT. Certainly during Prime Time. 6 or 7 is a different story
though.

And saying that 10-15 can easily adapt, overcome and develop to beat 30-35 organised players is imo very naive at best and downright stupid at worst – as is bringing 6 or 7 new guilds onto a server in order to escape the higher tier blob fest. You’ll now be back there in no time – and what then? Transfer back down? What about the natives you leave completely out of their depth, and what about the next server you try and grace with your presence? Likewise so is the idea that the big guilds will stick to themselves. This is an objective based game – are you saying that the 40 man guild will leave the 15 man group to take Garrison out of fairness to their desires? No chance.

No matter how much i develop and adapt myself and the 10 people around me we won’t be able to beat the 50 people that are spawn camping us. Maybe if we had Lyric with us we could:)
Saying that 150 more players to a server is actually a chance to improve for the other server is actually very naive.

Last I checked, Warriors we’re supposed to be the ones opening the battle, IIRC.

No they were suppose to both charge into the front lines. Anet said it themselves, they gave Guardian shadow step skills and not escape skills because they want them to teleport to the target and expected to fight there.

With that being said, in the video the devs were cautious to nerf guardian because of these changes. In fact, because of the new mechanics they expect guardian to move upward in the future.

The biggest mistake they made in the class design imo is designing them around boons. Their low hp pool and lack of burst damage is because of this fact. Its a problem because boons aren’t exclusive to guardian. Everyone has them!

Doesn’t matter if they nerf retaliation because its already useless it cant get more useless. It was good during beta but what happens? a trait with a bug that causes it to last as long as 1 min get nerfed so it only last 3 seconds later the bug fixed then they increase the cd the retaliation skill on greatsword and decrease all retaliation skills to 3 seconds , and for what reason? with 2k power this hit for 360~ thats nothing. They put retaliation in all skills then they do this. I would gladly trade all the retaliation boons for 15 seconds of a useful boon instead or changed it back to how it was during beta.

Wow, patch day again and im more worried than ever. They speak of a retaliation nerf (change?), warriors boasting about guardians beeing “fodder” for them now with unblockable attacks, thiefs beeing able to take our boons? Shut down our entire class mecanic? But the thing that bugs me the most is that our support becomes a hinderence for a team facing said warrior and thief, our positive becomes a negative.

How much do you guys think this will affect Guardians in WvWvW and tPvP? Will teams opt out of a guardian because the boons will be dangerous to actually recieve? Or am i blowing things out of proportion? Necros allready have the capability to “shut” us down boon wise, but i dont know. They have also mentioned Epidemic and Corrupt boon beeing unblockable but dodgeable over on their forum, thats yet another “indirect” nerf to us.

I hope this wont break my guardian in WvWvW / tPvP

so my 30 point trait.. improve my dmg reduction signet with 2 % ???
Now thats a useless trait then.

And to my knowledge. Thoughness + Vitality IS tank gear.
I have thoughness on all my gear. still doesnt seem to help kitten.

I even tried using a shield to get those crappy extra 90 toughness and 90 armor.

To me, guardians seem to be what paladin was in early wow. Buff Bots, nothing more.
I can use staff to get 1 second short of perma 12 stack might to all allies.
That seem to be the best and only thing a guardian can do.

I tried:
scepter to stay at distance and buff my backline. scepter cant hit for kitten.
Mace + shield to run frontline and help.. doesnt help for kitten.
2 handed Hammer. to try help with dps and support… ground symbol crap….

Tried GS. Now here i could actually DO help, every 12 second.
I pull ppl close, drop my retaliation symbol. thats about it.

Tried staff.. to give ppl perma might. most boring playstyle ever. Buff Bot.

There is nothing “guardy” about it.
You cant actively guard your friends, due to long CDs.

And the hp base ?

My warrior in full DPS gear. have 22 k hp.

My guardian in full defense gear. Power / though / vital. have 17 k hp…

Seriously ?

And the traits doesnt seem to work as they should either.
I get the Improvement in 30 p precision tree. you should double the dmg reduction.
It still says onlyy 10% reduced dmg.

There is nothing he can do to be called “guard”

When i played swtor, i played juggernaut.
Now that class actually had an active Guard option to protect your friends.
(where you took 30 % of dmg).
It had a Slow attack, to let your friends get away, or keep enemy close.
It had a push attack, to interupt, and save your friends.

etc.

What The Hell is a guardians role in this game ??
Dance support ??

And symbols..
Why do i place those crap on the ground ?? It should be an aura.
In pvp. people dont want to stand still in your little fine AoE…
