In real life, the primary reason guns replaced bows was not power, in fact for a long time bows were better weapons than guns. The reason guns replaced bows is because using guns require minimal training, while a good bowman requires years and years of training.
The case of the RUIN guild is exactly the demonstration why your transfer service is a complete failure.
They were on Desolation this week, probably expecting to achieve an easy victory thanks their timezone. Instead of that, they got their anus kicked hard by Blacktide and Vizunah. Guess what?Their tactical answer is to transfer and join Blacktide.

1) Charge $25.00 for each transfer.
2) After a server transfer, you can not enter World PVP for 2 weeks.
3) You cannot transfer servers again until after a month.
4) If they don’t like it, then tough luck. Read instructions better. It’s been over two months, and people have had plenty of time to choose a server freely.
I’m losing intrest in W/PVP. I’m not the only one.
How about getting rid of free transfers. Pay for it and there will be a lot less.
Charr – Ranger
Human – Guardian
Yeah, they did the same to us when we played them. Free transfers yo.
it’s really hard to come back if you fail after the first push and it gets this bad. Personally i think buffs to the losing teams would encourage more fighting.
I play a thief as my main and anyone who says the stealth/backstab builds are balanced are just wrong. Stealth should have never been in the game in an offensive capacity, it is far too hard to balance. The thief class already has the initiative mechanic that is hard to balance and throwing stealth on top of that just makes it exponentially harder.
Even if they wanted to take time for a complete rework or an actual fix for rendering it properly they need a bandaid fix in the meantime. Make revealed last 3 seconds longer, make it apply on any stealth. Increase the thiefs base health to compensate for the survivability lost. Make damaging a stealthed thief break stealth. Lower backstabs damage. Just something to bring stealth back into line with other classes damage/survivability.
I’m amazed at the damage even low level thieves can dish out …. something gotta give soon.
Just got owned by a thief after this particular thief wrecked another dude. I officially quit this piece of kitten game.
Let me say this. and I welcome all that may challenge me. I know my class (warrior) like the back of my hand and I know what do when facing most classes. The fact that I got completely owned by one class is not acceptable at all and this just made me quit this kitten game (swtor here I come back).
The thief class with an unlimited amount of vanishes is complete cheater mode. Especially when they are coupled with back to back 4-6k hits. How this dumb kitten company allows this to happen is beyond me and I’m not one to put up with the bullkitten.
Anet – you lazy kitten good for nothing devs have allowed one class to have a distinct advantage over the rest and you just made a die hard fan boy quit.
Thanks,
Carbun
I’ve had a different glitch happen to me twice so far- we kill the final boss but no reward is given. Hodgins just stands around like a dofus. I’ve posted about it on this forum and filed two /bug reports, but the bug still hasn’t been fixed. Meanwhile I’m out of 120 hard earned tears (maybe I should QQ some more haha).
We’re here to knock down doors and kill players… and they’re all out of players.
Sea of Sorrows – where every game mode is PvE.
Or, I suppose if we felt like not joking along with that kinda thing:
Putting the Sorrows in your QQ.
All our base are belong to you.

I don’t understand why in the world it is still free. This whole transfer business would have been fine at the start, but because its free forever it seems you can just get up and leave the losing team and murder that server you were just on. That is just unfair to servers like for instances Sorrow’s Furnace who have to deal with Yak’s bend and Gate of Madness this week. Sure it might be our server but not only that Yak’s Bend seem to have 3x the amount of people on say battle grounds at one time even when there is a queue for entering it. I just don’t understand it at all.
I guess suggestions would be a one time transfer or maybe limit on transfers so you can’t just rage quit to another server, or how about an actual price on it.
One last thing about WvWvW is the queue made for each individual server equal because at times I see that as not true. I don’t like being camped at my spawn just because the server I have to verse this week is the definition of Troll.
Also from what I read Anet are doing nothing at all about hackers that seem to fly around what is this exactly? We pay for a genuinely good game only to have moderators/Game Masters/Admins just not care what happens inside when people have proof of things like flying?
Update————————————————————————-
So far what I see is a good idea:
-Doing something about World Transfers say making it weekly or charging gold or gems for it. (as stated by BakaOniiChan)
-Making it so that if you Transfer Worlds that you cannot enter WvW or in fact this “guesting” thing where you just go to another server for the sole person of pve’ing with friends (so I guess not an actual char or one thats already at its highest point in the game) (As stated by Jonto)
-Also the idea of randomizing/scrambling the scoreboard and then either closing off world transfers with a notice of course or just making it so you can’t transfer for a month or so. (As stated by Kudo)
-Another idea though probably the most obscene is going to the top leader board servers and splitting their guilds among the rest of the servers. That way with they stay as guilds but move to help those in need of help during WvW times. (My idea I guess for now)
-Oh also Commanders, now i’ve had quite a few problems with them firstly, they don’t do their job of commanding. What I’d like to see is something a long the lines of a Temp Commander system where you become Commander for say 1-2 hours by the means of Voting and Actual defending and holding Positions because that is really what they should be doing. I have had a commander mouth of at me today saying the only thing to do is farm Karma which I don’t agree with at all. It would be a good idea if this happened and yeah the defending and holding positions is a means to stop people with votes from just friends getting them to be commander. Well just a thought Tell me your thoughts on this.
If there are any other ideas I’d love to hear them, what I want is something to be done about this issue of raging to another server that is winning. I just don’t find it being a tactic that helps at all. Lets try to keep this in the top of the first page so it gets an actual response from a higher up!

ALRIGHT everyone! In just about every major patch we’ve seen the thief nerfed.
That is a fact. Not a qq.
Now, I’d like to start taking bets on the next thief nerf!
Current options:
Backstab build
Unicorn bleed build
Venom-sharing build
Other
No nerf
I’ve currently got my money on the backstab build. They’ve already edged towards it with the alteration to our elite venom and making that a breakable stun, so clearly it’s in their sights. Since the nerfs have correlated with forum complaints, I’m going to assume that all the people still whining about backstab who can’t break a stun are going to correlate with an upcoming backstab nerf!
I’m going all-in for this bet.
What are you betting on and why?
Svarty, I wish they had upvotes here.
Heartfelt thanks for the hard work I know it takes to produce guides of this caliber. I know it can be easy to get burnt out on such work, and that doing such work for the community is a labor of love. Just know that it’s work like this that can make the difference in helping entire guilds either enjoy and be successful at dungeons, or deciding internally that “dungeons suck in this game and aren’t worth bothering with”.
The chatter that happens on forums like these often aren’t representative of what players really think and do. In actual practice, guilds are an echo chamber among themselves. My guild wrote off dungeons here as being abysmally designed and not at all fun after trying AC and CM. We walked away entirely, in wait and see mode, hoping for significant redesign from Anet.
Only guides like these would ever help/entice a guild like mine to try again after enough of us are in level 80 exo gear.
I’m sure my experience and my guild’s experience and attitude are not unique.
I have yet come across an Elite skill that has felt even remotely elite. It’s like having a bad 4th utility skill. It doesn’t do much and it takes forever to be able to reuse it lol. I’m only using RF for my virtues, even then it’s usefulness is low. I’d rather have that extra utility slot if this is the best they can do for “Elite” skills. Hounds of Balthazar… lol!
Power of the Virtuous, I’ve read reports of it being only 0.5-1% per boons which is pretty low. Comparing to Radiance Power or Fiery Wrath which is a flat 10% on conditioned/burning targets, Power of the Virtuous is pretty weak.
10% damage while under Aegis is only good if you are to not get hit at all. To get half of its effect (5% is still pretty good for a trait), you can only be hit once every 15 seconds with the 30 seconds VoC trait.
(edited by Trungalung.7850)
The battle suit elite trait is COMPLETELY worthless.
The skills take way too long to activate, and the global cooldown is brutal when combined with the ‘rev up’ animations. When considering these, it seems to last just short of ‘enough’.
Hopefully this will be looked at soon, I really think it’s cool looking and fun, but after the novelty of it wears off (using it twice), it’s such an expensive waste of skill points.
I don’t agree with guardians having more survivability. I get smashed often by way to powerful poison/bleeds (and to often renewed making removing condition useless). Stun breakers cannot keep up with Orr monster stun rates (and sacrafice your ’precious survival/support build slots), meaning you will be hit freely at some point while stunned, making you an easy target to die.
Blind has to short durations. Half of the time it doenst work, or the monster first use weak skill, and instantly after strong skill, making the blind useless and slashing you to pieces as well. I also noticed blind does not work for certain (especially very powerfull) attacks, meaning your only defence again got removed. The healing isnt great. Warriors can have continous regen as wel with the heal signet so really guardian isnt better. For the rest they nerfed healing so hard, most of the builds can’t keep up with Orr damage rate. Call me a noob but Guardian doesn’t have better survivabilty as warrior. On top of it warrior has a lot of ‘move fast’ (leap, whirl etc) attacks, wich can be abused to escaped battles. Guardian is mostly relying on blinds and dodges (with runes out in 5 secs in orr to dodge their first attacks, then you are at their mercy, cause they run incredible fast.
And as above posters said lowest hp pool is a big punish no matter how high defense/healing is. A few spikes can easely surprise you to dead. Ranged weapons of guardian are bad imo. They just don’t work well. Bow or gun of warrior work so much better. I love the bow so far.
No excuse anymore for not giving ‘hide mounts’-option
No thanks to unidentified weapons.

Greatsword Power: Greatsword damage is increased by 5%.
Scepter Power: Scepter damage is increased by 5%.
Radiant Fire: Torch skills recharge 15% faster.
Powerful Blades: Sword and spear damage is increased by 5%.
Mace of Justice: Mace damage is increased by 5%.
Compared to:
Crack Shot: Rifle and harpoon gun shots pierce. Rifle and harpoon gun skills recharge 20% faster.
Forceful Greatsword: Gain might on critical hit with a greatsword or spear. Greatsword and spear skill [sic] recharge 20% faster.
Sundering Mace: Mace damage is increased by 10% when a foe is weakened. Reduces cooldown of mace skills by 20%.
Merciless Hammer: Hammer damage is increased by 25% when a foe is disabled. Reduces cooldown of hammer skills by 20%.
Quick Breathing: Warhorn skills recharge 20% faster. Warhorn skills convert 1 condition into a boon.
I’m seeing a slight disparity here.
Arena Net, if you really hate guardian so much please remove this class completely instead of nerfing us slowly.
We do not have enough HP, if we go to high damage build we will die more frequently than any classes in GW2 when doing dungeon. I don’t really play PvP but only PvE.
So I try a defensive build, the only damage output I have are from Greatsword and Retaliation. But I don’t have much HP, I need to keep healing myself. I can’t do kitten damage like Warriors do to the monsters without dying.
Why? Why you hate guardians? I start to wonder if Blizzard bought you company?
Please, reverse these changes.

Re-roll something with range and a seemingly infinite amount of Crowd Control. WTB diminishing returns on CC ….
I only find 1 shot mechanics acceptable when you have high mobility or mitigation otherwise it’s just ‘hard’ for the sake of being hard. It’s like some of the bosses in Tera, sure there’s a tank but a tank can’t tank things like wide AoEs or raining AoEs, you have to avoid those things yourself but luckily in Tera you move at a respectable speed in combat. You see similar things in action games like Devil May Cry [especially Heaven or Hell difficulty], God of War, Ninja Gaiden, Dark Souls, even action RPGs like the Tales series, some of those games have 1 shot mechanics, some don’t but all of them give you enough mobility to manage incoming attacks.
Another important thing to note is that other games have very clear tells for when a big attack is coming at you, I don’t expect a QTE-like prompt on my screen [I actually hate QTEs] but I think animations/sound effects/speech play a very important role when it comes to this in a lot of games but it simply isn’t here in a lot of cases in GW2.
