The mursaat were always neutral….. but the heroes in guild wars one feared them because they appeared to be evil.

What you find out in Guild Wars Prophecies….. in this order…. is

There is this undead Lich guy behind the undead forces who is definitely a bad guy…

You meetThe White Mantle and they hate the undead just as much as you do…. cool new allies!
Lets do errands for these people to show our thanks.

The White mantle is actually centered around some sort of cult where people are being sacrificed on something called a bloodstone deep within the jungle…. the people who tell you this are called The Shining Blade….
These Shining Blade people saved us from being sacrificed….
Lets help these guys out.

So….. The White Mantle are not actually good guys…. and they worship the Mursaat…. so the Mursaat must be bad guys too….. right?
Lets steer clear of those guys.

Vizier Khilbron, a powerful necromancer, will save us from the White Mantle, using his powerful necromancer magic to summon more undead that the White Mantle hates so much. New ally get!

(you do some mucking around in the desert and end up in the southern shiverpeaks… and continue to attempt to fulfill the flameseeker prophecies with Glint’s instructions)

You need to go rescue your shining blade friends, who were captured by an alliance of White Mantle (we think they are bad guys), Stone Summit(bad guys), and Mursaat(we think they are bad guys). You actually fight a mursaat for the first time and holy kitten they hurt a lot. Definitely bad guys. ….right?

Vizier Khilbron is still helping us kick kitten and try and get our shining blade friends back….. We kick the enemies’ kitten and save the day!

Afterward Khilbron tells us the following:

“This is just as it was written in the Flameseeker Prophecies. An opening will be given to the disciples of the Unseen. The peaks and valleys of the Shiverpeaks will be painted in blood. At this time, the Ascendants will rise, and the way to the Door will be clear. The time of our judgment is near. We must prepare. Today’s was a great victory, but now your true challenge begins. You must go to the Ring of Fire island chain. In the caldera of the largest volcano you will find the power you need. "

Sure thing, Khilbron…. we’ve got your back.

We go to the ring of fire….. Its loaded with Mursaat and White Mantle…

They throw everything they have against us but we are still victorious.

We discover they are protecting another bloodstone (like the ones they have been sacrificing people on in the jungle)

We finish off the Mursaat and the White Mantle….. but

Vizier Khilbron is actually the Lich….. and he wanted the white mantle (and also the mursaat) destroyed so he could open the ‘Door of Komalie’…. basically a gate to hell.

…and you just helped him succeed.

So the Mursaat were just trying to keep the Door of Komalie shut. Which is a noble cause…. and attempted to stop anyone from fulfilling the flameseeker prophecies, so that kitten would not hit the fan.

I’m not much of a roleplayer, but my Sylvari is now a crazy prophet preaching about the coming of Mordremoth and the end of the oppression the Sylvari face.

Gather all, and listen to what I am about to tell you. Such is my prophecy, told unto me by the Six True Gods, and so I pass now unto ye.

Ware the train of hype, for its warm eyes and charming smile hide what lays within. Conducted by the devil, the train does not lead to paradise, as many of its drunken revelers would tell ye, it leads instead to a pit of despair. There will be no spears, no new weapons for any profession. For such is not the way prosperity through peace that the ’Dev’ils would proclaim.

There will be no new class crawling from the pit, no… only the same old classes will pull free from the wreckage, and they will have hearts festering black with anger and molded by the stains of betrayal. The revelers would cry of new skills as they invite you onto their canflageration of doom, but of such there will be none.

I was playing with Cinema 4D and Guild Wars 2 data stuff again(mostly dragons), and I decided to make Zhaitan’s animation which shows how he is flying. And how big he is in comparison to a human (at the end of the video).

Zhaitan is an epic elder dragon that deserves more attention. There were no trailers or cinematics dedicated to him and we slayed him very fast. The fight was short and not that cool as it should be, so many players just killed him and almost forgot about him. But dont forget its an elder dragon and Guild Wars 2 is a game about elder dragons! And Zhaitan is very nicely designed monster, its exceptional and original. There should be more attention about him.

So I just had to make an animation so everyone can see how great he is.

and honestly a lot of the team who care deeply about Arena and the community are to scared to post because let’s be honest forums in general can be quite toxic.

I’m sorry, Chris, but this is neither a good nor acceptable reason to avoid the forums.

I work right now as pizza delivery. It really, really sucks. You can be delivering in a snowstorm, be two minutes late, and the customer won’t care. And they will berate you, withhold a tip, and complain to your manager.

And we take it. And we apologize, and we give them a free pizza and try to make the delivery a better experience next time. Because that person is a customer, and no matter how kittenty they are to us, we need their business.

And it’s horrible. It’s a really demeaning and stressful job for sucky pay, and I hate it, but I accept it. Because that’s what it means to provide a service. That’s what it means to rely on a customer. I don’t get to hide my head in the sand. I don’t get to avoid the angry customer, I have to face them head on. I have to take the initial brunt if they’re upset. And I don’t get to retaliate, because my job is on the line.

And that’s for a lowly pizza delivery job. You guys are so much higher up on the food chain.

Doesn’t it strike you as a little odd that the lowly pizza guy is being held to far higher customer interaction standards than the large corporation that has a critically acclaimed video game?

I have a sneaking suspicion we need Rurik himself to fix this, and the sword was fully aware of that, opening a portal to the underworld because it is trying to return to its rightful owner. So within the next few weeks we will travel there ourselves to get Rytlock back, only to meet Rurik, who will probably mention the PC’s similarities to the GW1 PC, and help us. Of course this also means we have to probably make a deal with Grenth to get this done, and there’s no telling what he’ll want in exchange.

Wait until Maj and Kas bug out and you can’t finish it, that’s the BEST part -_-

From my pov that wasn’t a “shooting down” as much as it was a sabotage explosion…atleast that’s how i see it in the trailer. Also why wait for the detonation till after the end of the festival instead of doing it DURING the festival?

I agree it looked like bombs going off. Inquest or bandits seem likely suspects.

My current theory is that Bandits and Inquest are in collaboration, along with the Nightmare Court, in the group referred to as the “Sinister Triad”. I wonder if the bringing down of the Zephyrite Sanctum will be as it flies overhead Brisban, such that the Triad can pillage it of supplies – maybe nothing to do with the dragon at all, but when ‘Destinys Edge 2.0: Rise of the Lesbians’ arrives on the scene darker forces will start to unfurl. Perhaps the Triad will become corrupted…

We already know that Marjory’s sister is prowling Brisban (for bandits?), and we see an Inquest Golem in the trailer, thus far the pieces point toward the involvement of the Triad for me. I hope I’m right, I’ve been curious about their Agenda for some time.

I don’t think they were shot. There’s no trail on those explosions – they happened from within. Which means that whomever it was that set them off was on the ship itself. And there were no (apparent) bandits/White Mantle/Inquest in Labryinthine Cliffs to board the ship then.

The only highlighted person who joined the Zephyrites would be Trader Aerin. But that could easily be a red-herring given that he said he was leaving his gear on the docks because as he was told it is customary to leave one’s burdens when first joining the Zephyrites. Which either means that the explosives where brought on board by a returning passenger, or the Zephyrites brought them themselves (and whomever set them off did not bring them). Which either means accident or internal conflict or returning passenger/sleeper.

Or, I suppose, it could have taken place a bit after an Aetherblade attack, with a survivor of the Aetherblades hiding after the Zephyrites won the battle. But that seems like a stretch. Saboteur is more likely, IMO.

Yesterday, I was in an organised instance where we got three golds in a row by having small groups of 8-10 people go to each boss, get them down to 2-5% and then stop doing damage until all groups were ready. Once all groups reported they were ready, we killed Boom Boom first, then the other five in quick succession. Worked beautifully, because the bosses scale up to almost ridiculous difficulty when huge zergs are beating up on them, especially Boom Boom.

So today, I logged in to find four bosses left alive (gold and silver rewards were long gone), so I helped out at three of them, then found that between 50 and 100 people had zerged on Boom Boom and weren’t really making much of a dent in her health. The healing turrets took minutes to kill and kept restoring her health. Together with some other people, we started telling people on map chat to move away from her to scale her down, that we needed less people, not more people to make the fight easier and at least get everyone the bronze reward.

They wouldn’t listen, so I came up with an… uhm… alternative tactic to get people away from Boom Boom. Some of the other people caught on, many were fooled and came to Crown Pavilion Waypoint. I took screenshots of the chats – they are absolutely worth the read :-D

It was intentional. Just a date with a picture. It’s enough to start lots threads of theorys and speculation, and yes unfounded complaints about season 2. I like it. I am one of many that enjoy speculation on what may come. I feel it builds anticipation much better than a detailed decription of whats to come. It’s like Christmas as a child (for those of you who celebrate such things). You KNOW you are getting a present, but you wait and dream and speculate on what it might be. You see the wrapped box, but have NO IDEA whats inside. The more you think about it, the more excited you get about the possibilities. It’s brilliant really.

I agree with you, because that’s how it feels when I’m playing the game.

Does Anet want recognition for addressing real world problems in a MMO. “Hey look at us! we’re educating people on corruption, prejudiced, sexual diversity, labour exploitation. Pat us on the back please for being thought provoking!”

I get enough of those issues every time I watch the news or open a newspaper or just walk out the door in the morning, then I choose to spend some time escaping from that in a fantasy game. But oh no, that has to follow me there as well.

I wish they would drop all that and let me participate on some epic adventure where me (the hero, not Trahearne or Kiel) overcomes the odds to take down some almighty foe. I make friends and companions along the way, twists and turns, ups and downs. I’m sick of being a tourist on some lesson in morality.
