“stop the graphics!”
There is a youtube video out where I saw a one handed sword with 8bit flame effects….might be a hint. ..
Well, seeing that many of the posters like to brag about their age, I’d just like to say that I’m 50, and I’m having a ball with the SAB.
Guy 1: I bought a serious RPG because that’s what I like playing, and that’s what this game was promised to be. But the additions are directly compromising this.
Guy 2: Dude, brighten up. It’s just a game, it’s just a mini-game too. Are you just anti-fun or something? Stop complaining, you don’t have to play it. Jerk.
Guy 3: How dare you! ArenaNet worked so hard on this, and all you can do is complain like an entitled child. You’re just an irrational and hateful person. This isn’t your kind of game; we don’t need you here. You’re just a GW2/ArenaNet hater, therefore anything you say is invalid.
Pretty much every thread on this. People who are annoyed because the game they bought and enjoyed because of what it was, is slowly going in a completely different direction. People who have no capacity to understand the viewpoint of the previous people and assume they’re anti-fun or just jerks. People who are the previous, except also view the game as part of their identity, and act as if you’ve insulted their religion (which you essentially have), and use straw man/ad hominem in every response.
It’d be really nice if people would try to understand where other people are coming from before insulting them and removing all chance for an actual discussion. But that’s what all game forums are now.

If I wasn’t sure before, I know now.
Areanet is best MMO company.
I wanted to come out and say thanks to the peeps at ArenaNet that show this much commitment to the game, developing awesome content for free that not only is fun to play but amazes you when you first see it. I laughed so hard when I first saw the sprites in the open world, and much more when I entered the Super Adventure Box for the first time. That is months and months of working and iterating to get the content done and ready for the players to experience.
Lots of people spend their time in the forums complaining over and over of every tiny detail they don’t like about the game, but I think ArenaNet has done a great job with this game, and I know that they will continue to do so in the future.
Thank you ArenaNet for your hard work and commitment on delivering awesome content for the players. Keep up the good work!
April Fool’s, jokes on you ^-^
Stop complaining about this and realize it’s supposed to be a fun event. It’s silly for a reason.
Reading these comments about how this is too hard; or not serious is pretty funny.
This is the most fun I’ve had in ages playing this game since launch. This is just another example of how not everyone will appreciate the small things.
tl;dr
You’re all bookahs.
“Live the saga of super adventure box on GW2 by arenanet, your parents will help you hook it up”
That made me laugh, I had to rewind it just to hear that like 5 times, because when I had the Nintendo they wouldn’t help me hook it up, I did the put the cord in every slot till it fits method.
i want to buy a tshirt with the s.a.b. logo and ‘stop the graphics!’ on the back(or vice versa)…..and of course the gw2 logo somewhere….lol
a permanent part of the game…..that is all…i just had so many childhood flashback im giddy right now!
I might need to obtain the GW2 accounts of a few dead people just so I can vote for this more times.

We have some crazy talented people in our cinematics department.
guild wars devs have always had a great sense of humour with April fools days jokes , I loved the one when they turned everyone into stick figures lol
Your leaving because of Tybalt? Ok leave because of treherne leave because of logan but Tybalt
Hating Tybalt is like hating kittens
I feel like the people who barg in saying things like ‘Ugh not this again!’ and ’Daily mount thread" should be infracted because they are not contributing to the discussion AT ALL.
Anyways, I think I remember anet saying mounts wouldn’t happen AT LAUNCH. They have never said a definite NO. Fingers crossed!
I’d settle for gem mounts but I’d love a speedy one. I just want a pony anet PLEASE!
I’d love it if mounts could be customizable. Think Sims 3 pets. the horse builder is just too cool!
Yea! Another mount thread.
Mounts are prestige items, like legendary weapons. They’re the sexy sports car of a fantasy game world.
The only useful thing they do is speed travel. We have frelling Asura Waypoints that can port us across the game world for loose change.
The only use for mounts in this game is to brag how yours is bigger or prettier or cooler than someone else. Do we really need virtual ostentatious?
RIP City of Heroes
I got bored with the game because the game is boring. Pretty simple. Not much depth.
Yea, this game definitely isn’t for people that want to do something that requires skill or any degree of difficulty.
OP, can you add that to your list too?
It amuses me that GW2 players take pride in the fact there is very little elitism in the game, yet threads like these are dripping with it.
I love how there’s an assumption that GW2 is the first and only game that a person realized after playing it that game isn’t for you. Does this REALLY need to be announced as if the problem is game?
I can’t tell you how many games I bought over my life that I’ve played and realized I’m just not into as much I thought or it wasn’t what I thought it would be. I simply chalked it up as personal matter. I didn’t go ranting and raving about it like it’s someone else’s (ArenaNet) problem.
Own up to it, You’re either into GW2 or you’re not. Stop complaining!
Dredge and Flaming Legion are invading Diessa and Wayfarer through portals. Innocent folk ran to the safety of Lion’s Arch, but many died while fleeing the carnage (so we have to go get their dog tags to deliver to their families). Some who made it to LA lost some important heirlooms, so we have to root around in the countryside and find them.
This is a pretty dull exposition, honestly. But, what do I know? I’m just a gamer, and writing is hard.
…This kind of took me aback a little. I thought the community in GW2 was above this…
In a strictly anecdotal manner, I too have noticed the attitudes that have been inherited in 250 years have been a turn for the worse. I compare the calmer, friendlier, European Districts of ages past with the oft vitriolic and/or juvenile map channel [particularly in Queensdale and Lion’s Arch, as of late] of the current Tyria and sigh with both sadness and confusion.
A simple answer may be to disable the communication platforms as a whole, but it is a shame that what might otherwise be an effective tool is instead something preferred to be discarded.
“Surely we’re a little bit more grown up” An honorable wish, despite the evidence to suggest a percentage of the population is contrary to that statement.
Perhaps, in time, the ‘time vs. reward’ scales will balance out across wider swaths of the world and some of these issues will resolve themselves. We should not be holding our breath, however.
Quaggan movie terms at least sounds friendly & doesn’t conjure up a revolting mental image.
Not if you apply it to porn movies.
You’re welcome.
. . . why would you . . . why would you do that?
Oh gods, I cannot unsee . . .
Atleast we know what the Quaggans’ goal is. Total world domination by 100% control of the trade. You may think it’s cute buying a Quaggan mini or a Quaggan backpack, but in reality you are only helping their imperialistic plans to conquer Tyria. Soon every household will have a Quaggan product and then they will strike with the mindcontrol devices hidden in those toys!
Repent sinners, the end is nigh!
Devs already answered this before the game launched.
They said they will do expansions with GW2. They did not like how GW1 campaigns split the player base.
Really weird. There were absolutly NO people who only had 1 campaign. You bought the first and the game sucked you in and the day after you had the rest of the games. Why limit yourself to a small amount of skills (a HUGE disadvatage in PvP). People didn’t they. Almost everyone had just every campaign.
As has been mentioned, the rapid pace of the Lost Shores event caused much forum discussion. So the Living Story is proceeding very slowly, well many vocal posters asked for it. Possibly not quite this slowly however. Several comments have been made as to the lack of information available about what is happening in the refugee homelands. I relate this to the night Katrina came ashore in New Orleans. Communications down and it’s getting dark. Category 4 or 5 hurricane hitting a city below sea level. Go to bed and wait to see what happened overnight. No one outside the area really knows anything, and those inside only know what is happening to them. It’s a role playing game, use your imagination, think of it as a real disaster where information is lacking.
