They could have included at least 1 slot character on the 50$ one…

50 bucks for an expansion that also includes the core game makes no sense for the community who already has the game itself. At least give us something that would benefit us as a community. I for one say that give us gems for the price we purchased the core game with. At least that benefits us when others are getting the core game for just buying the expansion.

The pricing is ridiculous. Nothing I’ve seen in this game justifies paying $50 for an expansion with a few new maps and no expansion slots, especially when I already have the base game.

And i know all of my friends wont come back at this price (they were waiting for the expansion, but noone is gonna pay so much for it).

I agree that $50 dollars for the expansion is ridiculous for those of us who already own the game. $75 if you want any extras at all is just plain stupid. I have a household that all plays Gw2, and it gets expensive very quickly. Looks like I’ll be sticking to other online games. :/

Hey, John Smith, bought the $99.99 version. The value isn’t what I’d call “ideal,” but I am one of the players that was looking to buy a physical collector’s edition ($150-200.) we are not paying for the expansion we are paying for a game we already own. and are in the right to be angry! not everyone can afford to shell out $50-$100 on a whim.

can we have xpac only edition ? we already have the core game.. what would the existing players do with the core game that come free with it ? we wouldn’t be able to separate it anyway….

But while you’re here, I do wish to ask a question of you: Will there be a lower priced version of the expansion for those that already have GW2?

I realize that the answer may well be “It’s still under discussion” or “Not for preorder”. And I’m okay with that. I just want to know if the three preorder versions are the final, set in stone choices and the only choices we’ll have.

I like how anet isnt responding to ANY of the community outrage here, and on reddit, and in game. No one is happy right now. I don’t know, I’ve sunk so much into this game but this is insane.

I think we were all thinking the same thing tbh… it’s kinda sad and pathetic what they are doing. Not only is there no new content at all in the past 3-4 months of this game since LS season 2, but now they are scamming existing players. They are going to lose A LOT of veteran players over this.

Hello John, is it intended that people have to buy the base game a second time or just a bug? (I hope it’s a bug)

wait what… so this EXPANSION costs almost the same as i paid for the full game, is this supposed to be some kind of joke, well unless this expansion has about the same amount of content the full game had at launch there is no freaking way i’m gonna pay that.
I was expecting to come back to the game for this but forget it i already paid for the main game.

Seriously? They want you to basically buy the game twice? I thought they were going to be fair about this. This is seriously changing my mind. Supporting the game is fine, but they basically want to gouge you for more money. If i give up beta access can I just have a price for a normal upgrade on my current ‘core game’?

This sums up most of my feelings.

The core game is almost 3 years old and has been on sale for dirt cheap for some time, it has depreciated and is hardly worth much to worry about now. I for sure got my moneys worth when I bought it brand new back then
