Guys calm down.
I understand that all these kiddies cry now with their dps toy gone.
Actually people should be forced to play 60 days GW1 before doing this crap to Gw2.
Now you guys are confronted with thinking about smart build and opponents armor actually matters again.

Gw1 Is 10 times better than what will Gw2 ever be.

Gw1 had great pvp, great pve and GvG.

Gw2 has no GvG, has pve that keeps getting worse and Pvp (lets not talk about that one).

If you really want people to play Gw1, they will realise that Gw2 has nothing to do with Gw1.

Opinion of a Mesmer.

Well, am I the only one who got screwed again by all that hype in this patch?

First thing when I log in to check the changes, I see unid dye. Then I go to the wardrobe page and I was like ‘’Thats cool’’.

But then, when I get to the traits and I see things that appear like nerfs (Mesmer dueling trait (4%inc dmg for each mantra) that was moved to domination) I’m like ‘’Great, was I op before? Nope, and now I’m even worse’’. (PvE wise)

Seriously, good job with that Grandmaster trait stuff, but they bring nothing at all. When I read everything on the forum and saw that new traits would be added I was so happy. Now I’m just looking at it and won’t even bother to use the new traits added to mesmer.

… Got screwed by hype again….

Now, when ill play, ill be only usefull for two thing. Using feedback, and use time warp. And nothing else.

Its good to see feature update, but kitten ! Why making some classes go to the worse side when they were good (or not that bad) at the spot where they were.

On these forums, lots of people did agree that certain classes were not on par with the other one (engi, necro… in PVE). Why not buffing these two instead of ramming on the other one.

All I can say from that ’’Feature’’ update is ‘’Nice wardrobe dude’’.

And what’s next? Fail story 2?

traits: 4% damage increases per mantra that was moved to Domination. There is absolutely no good reason to remove that trait for the dueling tree.

Now, with the ferocity update, mesmer took a hit to their dps. And with the change to the trait, it got even hit harder.

Any reason behind that? Since when mesmer were OP to the point where it had to be blown appart?

Good idea, but IMO that would mean pretty much everyone would go there to get ascended gear. No point in 500 crafting. Dungeon Master, 100% Map, and Personal story seem kinda harsh too. IMO a requirement could be to finish all the other story dungeons and have them “lead up” to this huge dungeon. Or, it could be about hunting the rest of the elder dragons. After all, Zhaitan is dead. Besides the dragon part, it kinda sounds like Arah. Super hard, endgame dungeon.

Actually, anyone can get through all paths of all dungeons by being carried. 100% map completion isn’t skill, it’s grind. Personal story is…a joke lol. It’s difficult to achieve these things because of the time ended, but that’s it. One person has more time then the other. GG, they get the new instance. No need for skill, nada. And let’s say those were actually difficult. What would be the point of crafting ascended anymore? Ascended would be the new exotic because everything would be sellable. Ascended gear is for the elite for a reason. Don’t take that away from us

Hehe but do you think that this non elite player would be even able to get through all path to get the ascended gear?

I think that has to be taken into consideration if ascended gear has to be given as a reward from a dungeon. The dungeon should be really hard.

I stopped reading at the square, where you say “you instantly die at melee”. I’m sorry if you are one of those “zerk haters”, but forcing players to go ranged, just because you don’t like stacking, is a terrible idea. You didn’t even explain why players would die in melee range. My guess would be, there is no reason, it’s just you don’t like players stacking, so who cares if it makes sense or not, let em die anyway.

And btw, since when ranging mobs require more skill then melee? Don’t make me laugh.

If you want to play ranged, find a guild or a group and you can play it ranged. Every single dungeon can be played ranged.

Also, “If one player goes in downed state, npc dies…” What? That doesn’t make sense.

Sorry, but this is terrible idea. If they would implement such a dungeon, majority of players wouldn’t play it more then once.

P.S. One question for you: If i walk up to one mob in open world for example and hit him with my sword from melee range, is that stacking?

Knowing that you could get a certain reward for that said dungeon you would not play it? lol.

And did you see my signature? All i play is zerker on all my character and all I do is speed clear. And seriously doing something else like going ranged or doing condi dmg could make for a change.

And maybe the npc thing does not make sens to you since you probably never played Gw1, a game where when you would fail an objective you would fail the entire instance.

Hi all,

I took some time to write this dungeon idea for endgame. (see attachment bellow and sorry for poor editing skill lol)
Note that the picture is split in half hence two links to view the whole thing.

I would like to know what you think about that, what think about gw2 could be attached to this idea (lore wise).

I would also like to know how this could be improved so that it could be a potentially good idea for Anet design team.

I will keep updating the design as I get feedback from everyone.

Yeah I bet they will focus on the megaserver thing, but I do think that a little focus will go to pve after all these feature. We saw a lot of thing for pvp and WvW lately. Not that it has been fixed for these two but I still think pve will get some love soon.

Say what? What has been fixed for PvP and WvW? They’re both pretty much in exactly the same terrible shape that they’ve been for the past year (or more).

question first…
what is the reasoning behind gear only affecting 3 of 7 stats (besides celestial)?

Really 3 stats just makes for some more interesting choices in how people itemize.

It is true that we have more interesting choices to itemize with the 3 stats combination, but right now people tend to build only toward the pure DPS (Berserker in PVE).

Personally I think that right now the choices we do have to build upon are vast, but some of these combination are actually worthless. If someone stats combination could actually be made useful in the game (Talking about pve) it would already a step in the right direction (imo).

I would like to know why the 1 stat or 2 stats only would make the game unfun?

Power, Precision, Crit in a ratio of 30/30/40 or combination that uses only two stat for example toughness, vit with a 60/40 stat ratio or Precision/Crit etc

Edit: Or maybe single stat for certain builds (healing power only or toughness only). Anyways I think that right now there is enough stat combination in the game, but some of them should need work before adding something new. Condition dmg for instance :P

Removing an option like this has many faults. 1. It closes the ways to obtain a precursor. 2. It forces players to grind out specific dungeons. 3. It kills the precursor economy and makes getting one even more painful.

Do you mean the economy that was destroyed by exploiters and TP-no-lifes? Precursors are far too difficult to obtain.

Obtaining a legendary should be done through legendary feats. Not luck and credit cards.

1. A way to obtain a precursor could be implemented in WvW also
2. Well if you want a legendary you already have no choice but to grind, so why not make you grind something in the game that is relevant instead of grinding the forge
3. It will not really kill the economy nor make it more painful. The painful thing right now is that you have to be extremely lucky to get a precursor and hence you have to gamble like mad to obtain one. Is gambling at the forge playing gw2?

Do you think that it would be better for the game if the precursor drop would be removed from the forge?

The precursor would be put as a loot in the dungeon where its gift must be obtained.

Hence you would see an increase of player to dungeon and to specific area of the game and player would play to obtain their precursor.

If I want to gamble that much, I think we have casino’s irl for that.

Let us play the game and know that we have a tiny chance to loot something by playing the game.

Out of curiosity after you’ve hit 80, run all dungeons, done all the quests, played a decent amount of wvw, have 5 sets of exotics what’s left other than maxing out appearance/gear. Yeah I know ascended isn’t needed to play the game. I played the whole game with out them now it is all that is left. So i want to “complete” the character. Its just turning out to slow to keep interesting while farming for it.

What was left for me is farming the tp and derailling queensdale train lol

And vol let me tell you something. In the 600 hours I spent playing gw2, I spent probably 2/3 of that time in the tp because I found out that that instead of playing 8h a day running champ train, I could spend 30min a day playing the tp and making the cash. And that is sad. I played over 3000hours in gw1 because I was enjoying its content and it was also rewarding the effort I made. But this game does not reward you for your effort. And in the end of you want nice skins for weapon and armor you have to farm gold. I have a life out of gaming so I can’t spend 10hours a day farming champ train. But in gw1 I could do 2 doa with my guild and be fully rewarded and then I could go do something else (homeworks and stuff).

The prob with gw2 is that if you want something and that you can’t spend 8hours per day playing, you have to either buy gems or tp flip. Because the rest is not effective

Anyone who makes the game about loot is probably not going to have a good time. The shame is so many people think loot is the game.

And this is because Gw2 was made more loot oriented than what It was in Gw1.

In Gw1, I was playing the game, getting the skins I wanted by ’’playing’’ the game, and I had goals and objective that I was completing with my guild and friend.

The game shifted toward loot and reward a while ago, and right now I don’t believe that this way of thinking could shift. Not until they add more content to the game so that people have something new to explore, and that they make you work and play the game to obtain skins and weapon.

Sadly, I have to farm to get gold, to trade it to gems, to buy keys, to unlock chest, to have a chance to have 1 scrap to turn it to a ticket to get a skin.

I spent almost 3 hours trying to jump my way through one of the jp in plain of ashford.

I had a lot of fun getting 100% map completion on my main (the bad part of that was win WvW lol)

I replayed atleast 10 times almost all vista in caledon forest when I started playing the game.

I enjoyed having fun with some group of player trying to derail train in Queensdale.

But this eventually get boring. I think that not a lot of people would be crying about money if they had to something to do that make them shut up about that. Don’t you think?

It doesn’t matter what MMO you go to. The place where people trade with each other will always be the place to make the most money.

Not the fastest, not the safest, but the biggest amount.

I am not going to another mmo, im going back to borderlands 2 (loot fiesta :P )

But ill admit that the place to go to make the most money is always toward trading with people, but back in Gw1, I could play the game and actually make a decent amount of money to get the skins I wanted.

I personnaly feel that it is ridiculous that the only ’’viable’’ place to make a decent amount of money is in tp. I mean, you don’t even need to play, all you have to do is buy something and sell it and keep going for profit.

Last week I decided to invest 450 gold into greatsword to gamble it at the forge and I got a precursor, but seriously why is it that I have to do that to actually drop something of value? :P

The topic of abysmal reward has been going on a lot lately, and I guess that a lot of players are tired of playing tpwars2 instead of Gw2

It’s not about having a vast sum of currency. It’s about being able to buy the different skin (armor and weapon) and to gear up my character with money that I made playing the game instead of money that I made being on the TP.

Gearing up your character ends up being expensive. And right now I have to make a choice between playing the game and making little amount of money to gear up, or play the tp, and make huge amount to gear up.

Edit: And it would also be about being to gear up by looting what you need!

I did not pay for Tp wars 2.

I will head back to another game for the moment and hope that Gw2 will improve by the time I come back to it.

I went trough Fractals, LS, dungeons, WvW even pvp and I always end up playing tp wars. Because in the end, that is the only viable way to make money (farm) in that game.

Seriously, if it was possible to make money by playing the game instead of playing the tp it would be awesome.

But I guess, no more rant, ill go and enjoy something else for the time being.

The common/most popular way to farm gold ?

I tp flip and gamble at the mystic forge to obtain money, since playing the game really does not yield that much money.

Yesterday, I invested 423 gold in materials to craft greatswords, made 1250 of them, put them in the mystic forge and got 1 precursor worth 630 gold.

I made profit by gambling. I don’t like it though….

Announcements are made when they are ready to announce, not because one, a dozen, or a hundred people demand it.

So basically you are implying that we should wait, not knowing what will happen. Being true with your playerbase and telling them that they should expect things actually helps to keep an healthy player-dev relationship. If that relationship is not good (the feeling i have right now) it will get more and more negative.

Transparency is an extremely important thing today. Because people don’t like to be surprised with things they don’t want

All I know is March 18 and thats it.

Let’s take for example the current CDI,

Now a proper timetable would be.

week1 : CDI (getting feedback from player)
week2: discussion regarding the CDI internaly (anet)
week3: Work is started on the issues brought in the CDI
week4: Announcement to players: Hello fellow tyrian you should expect this this and that around week x-y. We have been actively working on the different things brought from you to us in the CDI’s

Transparency in way that players know what will come soon to the game.

I’m not asking to know the exact content, but to have a clear timetable, to know that for example, sPvP will be the main focus for this period etc.

As we always know when gem store item are on sale, I would like to know to where the game is heading.

That is transparency imo.

And it would calm a lot anger from player who feel like they are left with no info and/or except to much but then realise that they expected to much

Im pretty that some transparency from the dev’s would make certain people calm down. (including me :P )

Past experience says otherwise. In many cases, only absolute compliance to the posters’ demands will calm them. This absolute compliance, however, will anger those who disagree with the posters, prompting more complaints.

Also, many of these demands are beyond most devs’ authority to promise, and they are not allowed to discuss certain things that are in development. Comments like “we can’t do that” or “that is in development and will be here this summer” just cause more arguments, because people don’t like being told they can’t have something, or they want it now, not in five months. And if they can’t solve certain issues or the plans change? It’s nothing less than a betrayal of the posters’ trust and a personal insult…

Announcements are made when they are ready to announce, not because one, a dozen, or a hundred people demand it.

Asking for transparency is something else.

I haven’t played the game since December because of all the crappy stuff that gets added to the game. 90% of every update is just gem store nonsense so I don’t even bother.

Ahh yes, because you have not played you know that 90% of the update is gemstore? This last patch was about 10% store with 90% being LS events. Please do not post your knowledge of something that you do not even play.

Really? Read my post. I get the updates in the email that are the overviews of the new patches. 90% of every patch is RNG and Gem store related. The other 10% is a stupid hat or back skin and the temporary content update overview for the next two weeks.

So you base your knowledge of the game on a one page email?

Saying that 90% of every patch is RNG and Gem store related is demonstrably untrue. If you’d said 90% of each patch is about new achievements that drive people nuts, you’d be closer.

Open your launcher and count the amount of things that talk about the gem store addition.

[Suggestion] New skills for each profession

To add a little more depth the builds each character can make, it would be great to have new skills and/or utilities.

Here is a list of the skills that were in Gw1. This is probably the best source to go and pick something that can be recycled. Otherwise for new skills, feel free to discuss it here.

What I would like to see as new skills:

Mesmer :

1.New mantra (elite or not) and maybe the possibility for a new weapon set
2. Archane echo: The ability to copy the previous skill that was used and use it again

Elementalist :

1.Celestial storm: A storm that does dmg with effects from the various attunements(fire, water etc)
2. An elite stance that could drastically increase your efficiency in one of the attunements
