You will get now an extra stunbreaker from reworked Indomitable Courage, so that is kinda countered unless the fight goes for too long.
And it’s not like we are not destroying thieves at this moment, so maybe they desrve some edge.
will you use a (grandmaster) stunbreaker with a godforsaken (aproxi) 70 sec cooldown and a thief will have a (aproxi) 20 sec steal do the math plz and tell me the result ( fast down state + stealth finish ) = guardian dead i don’t call that fair balance and result

From the final devs stream possible future traits they are forcing the guardian to go mace/ focus ( mace one of the guardian most USELESS weapon in pvp/wvw from my experience ) considering that all rest of the professions will go long mid range only guardian will go close and buffing the ele burning capabilities way over the guardian and the way OP thief 8 SEC STEAL DAZE !!! from the guardian, is there a possible GOOD future for the guardian. PS not taking in consideration a future guardian Longbow that will possible make a difference between guardian and other profession in case of range gap and DPS
Guardian will win BUT……… if the ele plays thief strategy(cowardly mode) hard chance to win sadly, play as a thief strategy is getting the ele to 30% there you see the ele running (trying to escape) if you let him he will return almost full heath, near all boon spawn on you and he will not run far just to spam some 1-2 skill to heal alone
idm if the burning remains the same the guard just need more traits chains to burning or traits rearrangement effects and and apply we’re currently out run by ele that have more traits to burning considering that they have multitude of condition access than the guard that have 4 (correct me if i’m wrong no sigils) and even those are way low tic on them 1-2 sec
An chain that i would love to see in the possible ’’horizon,, just and example :
coldfire at the end of burning apply a 1-3 sec chill or vulne 1-2 stacks
Guardian present , future (pvp) past sadly there is no (glorious) past
Sooo…. stability nerf, teleport nerf, burning nerf (now fixt barely dont se the difference)

Getting tired in pvp seeing myself facing a 25 stacks 30s might and 10 stacks of stability elementalist
happy campers engy that blows me in any directions
and lb rangers that shot me back each time i get close and getting bitten by the legs by pets

Maybe in the future we will have some changes that will balance or curent position in the powerstrugle and range gap, praying that we dont get crapy LB skills then we can share the same fate as the American servers guardian, meaning they don’t belong in pvp (no offence)

I pray for a longbow but… if it will be just a 800 range and crappy skills it can share the warehouse with the mace and shield (aka useless wep skills) + how the hell the guard will face the revenant long range(and condition apply we already have hard time with the necro) skills and the rest of professions because i am 80% sure all will get a new long range wep use putting the guard further in the range gap and easy target practice
I’m with the hammer because you need to ring trap and immobilize the vs class they know if they have a big gap the guard cant catch up for close combat even if the hammer is godlike SLOW and i pray for a rework of those skills

the ranger classical they go LB and want to keep a distance ,
the ele that run from side to side wiling to heal and dd ,
thief runs and hide at 30% (you can be kittent because its true thief XD )
Bad ,,dark’’ expectations a shift to p2w a op advantage over other players
Good expectations a new ,,hard to reach’’ cap allowing access to new maps were the reward after will be mind blowing
The thing I like about condi builds is that burning is applied so often that even if people cleanse it gets reapplied quickly. With the build I use, every time I block I apply 800+ burning for at least 5 seconds. It is a given most classes can escape from a fight, with burning builds if my teleport is on cd, and they run burning will get them.
OH BINGO! Glad someone pointed this out. Everyone thinks you need 5 conditions and huge durations for a condition build to work. My build uses passive VoJ … CAN’T be cleansed ever AND does quite high damage on well mitigated targets. Yes, it suffers on already-squishy targets … I don’t care, I let my Direct Damage team mates handle them.
Like the OP says, it’s strengths are ignoring the traditional defenses as well as some of the common cleansing strategies.
So not contributing with anything ( i like that ) you let your ’’teammates,, do your work ,and then what you face and oponent 1v1 what do you do (run) knowing that you have 1 condition and the base dmg is dead slow while the the vs has 5 condition acces and a larger base dmg . And defence what defence you go that path you just play with him while other come to mow you down ( from long range most of the cases)
Condi guard hmmmm….. are you serious we lack conditions we have one ONLY 1 and even that its just a light up of the opponent for 1-3 sec burning 1K in total while other classes have near 5 condi access, yes we have chains for it but there all spread in the trait system and we cannot access it to use the full potential of it
From my last pvp tournament livestream i’ve been seeing our class near extinct in teams , im a guard class player and even in hotjoin i barely see guardians (except me) 1-2 in 10 matches , are we really near ban from it because we can keep up with other classes (considering near all have advantages over us)
I see the are so many problems with the guard class but some words that i heard a while ago prove they want the guardian to be an underdog for other classses ’’While we don’t want guardians to be as strong offensively as some of the other classes ,, (remember those words from the livestream? )

Here is the real problem lies there ,,Signet of Restoration,, imagine this battle you a guardian vs an ele you give it all you got med skills, virtue even invulne for another round of virtue you get him to 30% here is getting odd they run and dam they can run and each skill that they use is healing them popping bons on each 300 returning to you with 80% hp all 24 skills are ready to use and 5-6 bons up with 6 stacks of might, you on the other hand almost all skills on cooldown (we have rly big ones) and you think how the heck do i deal with him now,
-run ? (with what dont have escape skills)
-fight ?( having the med skills on cooldown virtue’s on 30 sec each)+they heal on each skill use you don’t
-play with him? waiting for help that never arrived most of the time on the opposite more come to fight you and i’m sure all of them will go long range on you
You have a legendary from me if they change the guardian shield even at least, because they will never fix or improve the skills, they insted buff the engy shield having the ex mesmer skill mimic making it almosat a second warrior shield users
gabriel those are interesting but not only will the devs not completely redesign weapon skills, the pvp guardian needs the current skills for defense.

Sadly we are bound to med build and very low wep choices ,support only works in well organized pvp teams solo your just a +5/10 points for them
current changes in 1v1 pvp
guard/ele 0-1(24 skills/each heals for them us 10 long colld)
guard/thief 1-1 (if there clumsyif iff they are hit and hide 0-1)
guard/war 1-0 (since last update we can fight them on equal ground)
guard/necro 1-1(considering a 3 stages of life each popping one after another long term 0-1)
guard/engy 1-1(if they are condi hard time chances )
guard/rangers 1-3(yes 3 temporal we shall see on the next update maybe the devs will increase ore chances vs them )
Applause first for the warr and engy they will get there shield skills the same but we will put or in the warehouse and just dream for it till the game dies of using it in pvp(no colld reduction for it no modifications to 4-5)
Bane signet-will you use it at that cooldown for that low effect (im not)

First of all the hammer for the guardian is lost wep in favor for the warrior
skill 1,1(2),1(3)- godly slow
2-a fail animation with low dmg (shud be a symbol at the end)
3-a a small spike to the enemy (less range more aoe effect multi targets not in line but in an wave)
4-crazy slow launch easily dodge even if you manage you just done them a favor shrinking your mele gap between you and him
5-love the design but its not sanctuary with that cooldown it shud be you just stay inside and you wake up with some well’s, chaos storm making you leave it or your down

You can be pist swear me or even report me of my topic but think for a moment about the guardian and i want to hear about your perspective about your current guardian and effectiveness pvp pve wvw
from all forum many topic talking about clases i have notest that the guardian i hear no complaining that were strong ,,OP’’ only that were underpowered in some sort
we dont have hii health poll,
no mobility,
no long range wep acces,
no condition (or chains) acces,
i want to hear more BUT……
i want to hear some good parts about the guardian

Evidently you have not payed attention to all the condition traits that arena.net has given the guardian.
They have even said they want all classes to have more build options including a condition option for guardians.The problem is they want us to rely completely on burning. That will always have 1 of 2 outcomes.
1: It will be OP because it will stack very fast and do damage extremely fast.
or
2: Will be crap because as one condition it is very easy to cleanse.They need to add another damaging condition to the formula so that it is easier to work with.
I don’t mind if they don’t give us more condition what i want is more chains to burning, we have some but there spread all along are traits and we cannot access them all to rly give the guardian burning power exemples (Amplified Wrath, Searing Flames,Radiant Fire,Fiery Wrath) these or change them to get more access or juice them up with 10-15% then we will have or condition guardian build hunt

24 skilss to doge almost 4 perma bons up runing from side to side using skills healing with each one and runing at 30% poping skills healing along the way and returning with all bons up and all health up and even surviving 3 vs 1 i belive the ele its rly the tank in this game with almost 100% survivability is this wath the devs want ? i pray one day they will be on the chopping block for some (all) balance
Hmm… A lower cooldown could quickly make it too strong, it’s not that hard to apply burns since VOJ does it automatically regardless of build. Currently I’m trying it out on my Mediguard to remove might from eles, it feels fine. With lower CD I think it would be too much considering other players since you’d only need to autoattack them and strip them constantly from boons
I really don’t consider it to strong, the necro already have that ability to rip bons why not us we only have one easy acces condition ( burning ) and that barely deal some damage. Why not juice it up like what they done to rangers ?

the problem here the guardian has only 1 and only 1 skill (on land hard to believe) 3 traits and one sigil that can apply vulnerability barley and some with hard to get build
As the topic says the guardian searing flames (When you apply burning to a foe remove a boon ) this specific trait should be obvious lower on cooldown like 5 sec (or less) this shud be efective vs the overbon spawn clases thief ,ele,war engy specifically vs ele they spawn almost all bons in very very fast rate faster than guardian and run from side to side escaping guardians attacks and runs to spawn all skills to heal

I swear from the last update the rangers have become almost a perfect guard killer with their LB and GS im a med build and barely barely managing to get close to a ranger get close Point Blank Shot shots me back and stealth to get some distance and pop me with 10 stacks of vulne and the cursed pets one knock down and fear rly (ps the guard dont have long range wep skills and rly makes me swear each time im geting stompt by one qq)
The guardian shield is a lost weapon in favor for the warrior and engineer if they respond to this i swear i discard my legend wep because they never do respond and never give us a good skill use for the shield
Awkward considering that the thief has no cooldown on weapons and like to hit and hide and run at 30% to reset they THEY complain about guardian
The QQ for the guard i believe we gave up, we qq so much we had enough and no response no change to put of on the equal table
Hahahaha i find this very funny the war begins to feel the pressure when they fight the guardian on equal ground having some of guardian lost weapons (sword shield hammer…..)
Do the guardian have escape skills – NO
Warrior -YES
Do the guardian have long range weapon skills -NO med don’t count scepter slow very slow(just poking the target )
Warrior -YES two even
Do the guardian have hi health pool with a signet that heals better than a virtue (pasive, note the warrior doesn’t use the signet that often) -NO
Warrior -YES
And so on…..
They are terrible i believe they forgot to make them permanent in the design state like the necro pets or ranger pets (skills are some good but one use and there gone dont have time for second use even with spirit build) this shows that they are a lost path for the guardian to use sadly
If the guards get some supposed good changes what changes will the other classes get to counter it don’t forget we are at the bottom of the food chain in pvp and the devs are always against the guards (my perspective)

I begin to cry each time i see the vid , seeing the guard so easily stomp easily put down by ore lost weapon (hammer)
The guardian has lost many weapons in favor for the warrior hammer, shield and even GS
sword still small chance (or not)
Sadly we lost the hammer in favor of the warrior, insane cooldown, one and only one knockback skill with hii chance for an enemy to doge it (war has 3 and a nice combo with it ) one immobil just a spike on the enemy and they can run further on, a leap ( more like an fail animation with low dmg to it) and a ring good for close combat but not a sanctuary (with that cold i wish it was) enemies can still fire at you from outside forcing you to get out of the ring and finally the one skill chain that i have no words to describe it
A guardian is sadly a target practice for the long range users, go med you survive but die fast after 1 2 one after another of course go bunker you just poke the other player while they kill your team and then they just choke you down
