Forum is missing the Guild Wars 2 favicon. Website and Wiki have it, but forum does not have any.
I tested this bug with Firefox v. 27.0.1
I tested this bug with Internet Explorer v. 10.0
@Hamster
Like Distillia I can also confirm that Sigil of Energy works fine. Sigil of Energy does not have a bug when used with Elementalist.
Still waiting an official answer and fix for Superior Rune of the Warrior when used on Elementalist.
Mechanical Bug: Superior Rune of the Warrior does not work in stat 6 on Elementalist.
Superior Rune of the Warrior ( http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Superior_Rune_of_the_Warrior ) has final stat (6): -1 Second on Weapon Swap.
According to wiki ( http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Weapon_swap ) elementalists do weapon swapping “by switching between attunements”.
I tested this on elementalist, with no traits set, and the cooldown was not modified by switching between attunements.
EDIT: The PvP version of this rune also does not work on elementalist (PvP Superior Rune of the Warrior).

I still have no official answer on this topic.
On the release notes Ascalonian Finisher is stated to cost 800 gems ( https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/updates/Game-Update-Notes-February-18-2014 ) but it costs 600 gems in Black Lion Trading Company. This means 25% off on this item.
The item announcement ( https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/incredible-new-items-in-the-gem-store-3/ ) does not state a limited time promotion on Ascalonian Finisher, nor that the item would itself be for a limited time in Black Lion Trading Post.
So, is this a bug or a bad info in release notes?
If I buy this item, will it be removed, modified or replaced because it was not intended to be sold for 25% off?
Probably this is a noobie request, but I kindly ask for an elementalist survivability and support staff build, designed especially for WvW.
Please note that I do not want to copy your build, I just want to learn some ideas from it.
Please keep this discussion serious, and do not reply on this topic if you are not an often WvW player with elementalist.
Thank you very much for your time and help in advance.
I only enjoy PvP. I only have 246 glory boosters. I will loose them.
I do not care about it, because I think there are more urgent profession balances to be solved in PvP than glory mechanics.
They want to remove glory and glory boosters. So be it, nothing interesting.
@azuzephyr.7280
Awsome point of view. That is exactly what I think will happen too. I just hold my thoughts for now and hope I am wrong.
In my opinion Anet could simply sell only the special effects, and let the user apply that effect to whatever skin they like. This would save them lots of time from reskins.
Thank you Anet for another copy paste.
Seriously, I was waiting very anxious to buy an incredible equipment designed using flames, especially after that long discussion for copying this item from humans. But now, this set proved to be another copy paste from feathered set, with flames bursting imprecisely (over the armor).
It is much easier to get this set in PvE or PvP.
Personally I do not feel motivated to buy this set, simply because it does not show any inspiration and creativity from the design team. I do not wish to criticize any designer, but let’s be real and serious, and let’s just see things as they are.
Thank you all again for your opinions so far.
If this subject attracts more comments, please state your opinion in a serious manner.
Thank you for your answers so far.
It seems it is better for me to wait until the development team introduces something useful in PvP for laurels, so I will follow the opinion of Lord Kuru by saving laurels.
Even though I only enjoy PvP (like I mentioned), I thank you all for your opinions regarding PvE and WvW content for laurels.
It’s a trap. You should have never said how many you have. Now even if they did add it, everything would cost 200-300 laurels because that’s what ANet does.
I do not care how much it would cost. I only care about using these for something useful in my form of entertainment (PvP), instead of letting them add up over time.
They take numbers based off of what people have saved up, regardless of how realistic it is. I’m just saying…
It is a good logic to cost a lot, simply because there are some PvP players not spending laurels, as there is nothing to spend them on. If those players would all move to PvE or WvW, then most likely things would be different.
Thank you for answering so far.
I am still waiting for opinions and feedback.
I know this may sound noobish, but is it possible to have PvP rewards for laurels?
As a PvP player I have 360 laurels, but I can not spend these for something useful in PvP.
Please state your opinion in a serious manner.
Probably at the end of 2014, but personally I think of it as unlikely because too many promises were made so far.
THE INTRODUCTION:
So far, in PvP, botting was not stimulated, until 2 weeks ago when Halloween 2013 started. Halloween is active until 11 November, according to latest patch-notes, and this is why I post this bug.
THE HOW:
This botting can be done easy, with a clicking software.
On each 5 minutes set coordinates for: click on PvP on upper left menu, click on second tab, then click on Join for SoloQ, then click random spells on each 10 seconds.
The clicking software will repeat clicking those coordinates (access, join and spells) the whole night while player is at sleep.
THE MOTIVATION FOR BOTING:
On each match lost, player gets 5 Pieces of Candy Corn – quite useful in PvE, especially on Halloween event.
Winning does not matter here, glory does not matter here, ranking does not matter here, only the PvE rewards for the PvP lost match matter. The 5 minutes are set to assume that match will be lost fast because of other players ragequit.
PROTECTION (personal opinion):
No rewards for PvP loosing, especially not PvE content.
You may put buttons, confirmations, human verification codes, etc., but in the end the solution is simple: no PvE rewards in PvP. This way players will have no reason to do botting in PvP.
PERSONAL NOTE:
This topic is not written to promote botting, but to make the developers aware that bringing PvE rewards to PvP (especially for loosing) will affect the PvP concept and mechanics.
Forums complain about missing holiday rewards—>devs include holiday rewards.
Forums complain about getting holiday rewards—>devs hint that they may reward double tournament chests the following month.
Forums don’t see that and continue complaining.I think I see a pattern.
except the forum was complaining about missing PvE-Eventskins not Holiday rewards. Nobody wanted trick or treat Bags, just a chance to get Eventskins.
Totally agree. Forums complained about skins.
PvP players want the skins of PvE weapons and armors, from PvP, without having to go through PvE content. As a PvP player I do not need or want holiday rewards usable only in PvE environment.
Trick or Treat bags are a temporary reward during the Mad King festivities. We agree that it would have been better to give both Trick or Treat bags and reward chests but the system involved can, at this time, only reward one type of item at a time. We therefore made the decision to allow PvP players to participate in the game wide festivities because it is only a couple of weeks. There is an achievement that you can earn by opening Trick or Treat bags and if you take a look at this page:
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/a-guide-to-blood-and-madness/
You will see that the contents of trick or treat bags can be used to work towards bigger rewards. Rather than give PvP players no option to work towards these rewards we decided to temporarily give out trick or treat bags.
This is by no means the final reward update to PvP. There are many things in the works regarding PvP rewards that will be rolled out over the course of several months.
I do however understand your complaints and concerns. So I’d like to offer this to you guys, if you accept Trick or Treat bags until the Mad King festivities are over, would you be happy to have double PvP reward chests for the two weeks after the festivities are over? This way those players who would like to spend their time in PvP to earn their holiday rewards can continue to spend their time in PvP and those of you who don’t want the holiday rewards can sell them on the trading post and then collect double PvP reward chests for a couple of weeks to make up for it.
Does this sound like a reasonable solution?
The “couple of weeks” have passed, where are the PvP reward chests? Or did PvP reward chests mystically transformed forever into Trick-or-Treat Bags and Pieces of Candy Corns, because of the evil Mad King (or mad developers)?
I need new content skins, weapons and armor, that are launched every couple of weeks for PvE to be obtainable with PvP too.
I need cultural armor skins, that are currently unobtainable ingame but they do appear in deposit slots since the game was released, to be obtainable with PvP.
So this is it… I am forced once again to miss an event because of no event PvP rewards, not even the old PvP reward chests.
We therefore made the decision to allow PvP players to participate in the game wide festivities because it is only a couple of weeks.
In my opinion, with other words: “We therefore made the decision to force PvP players to participate in game wide PvE festivities because it is only a couple of weeks”
Rather than give PvP players no option to work towards these rewards we decided to temporarily give out trick or treat bags.
In my opinion, with other words: "Rather than give PvP players some useful skins that required work in design and coding, we decided to temporarily trick them in playing for PvE event bags.
This is by no means the final reward update to PvP. There are many things in the works regarding PvP rewards that will be rolled out over the course of several months.
In my opinion, with other words: “This is by all means just another update to PvP, like the ones in the past. But there are many things in plans regarding PvP that probably, will come after several months, like this last year.”
if you accept Trick or Treat bags until the Mad King festivities are over, would you be happy to have double PvP reward chests for the two weeks after the festivities are over?.
In my opinion, with other words: “If you accept to leave us alone, would you be happy to have the same old PvP rewards doubled for two weeks with good old hard PvP work, and simply forget again that another game event has passed?”
Does this sound like a reasonable solution?
My personal response: “Never. I play a game for PvP fun, not to make compromises with PvE players and their content rewards; while in PvP I get to help them get their ToT bags and watch them have all the fun in another game event.”
Why not the weapon skins? Why do we get jipped with pve mats we don’t want. Give us skins instead of forcing us to pve or buy gems.
Reply hazy, ask again later…
Agree with Lux. PvP players need skins and rewards related to PvP, not some candy related to PvE event.
The concept of PvP rewarding system is now broken because it rewards players with PvE items, unusable in PvP, making players more angry as they can not obtain useful PvP content related to the current Halloween event.
So, Justin, in my opinion, your reply is hazy for not understanding and actually reading what PvP players like.
Right now you can get the skins and bring them over. You do that by getting the tickets for the black lion weapons vendor.
I can’t release information on our rewards system we are working on but I can give big emote smiles about it!
And what about the event items that and are not on the Black Lion vendors? I have waited a year with hope (since Holloween 2012) and items are still not available in PvP.
So… still no official answer…
This is so sad, so very sad. Absolutely no care for PvP events rewards. I wanted an item one year ago on the Holloween 2012, and now I thought that finally I have chance to get it, but it seems not.
Thank you very much ArenaNet for the PvP customer care. You are the best.
Hello.
I tried last year to get this on Holloween event but I could not get this item “PvP – The Crossing”. Right now players can craft the PvE Holloween staff called “The Crossing” , but for the PvP one there is no info. Also there is no official skin listed on the wiki so players could choose between PvE or PvP skin.
Please help me. I do not want to bother official support reporting this as a bug as most likely I am a noob not knowing where to look.
How can I get the PvP Staff: PvP – The Crossing ?
So far it seems there are some PvP players unhappy with what they received on the anniversary gift.
It is good I am not alone, I do not feel as the only one seeing and feeling things this way.
On one hand this is a gift, it is not a right for players to receive, but a privilege; on the other hand PvP is an important section of the game, and rewarding all players with something special and unique after one year of PvP, makes them feel like developers care about them.
Thank you anyway for the anniversary PvE gift and for the reduced prices on item shop on this special occasion.
(edited by Acrisor.8097)
Yes Darnis. That skin made me happy just thinking on it. Great idea.
So I am not the only one seeing this. Thank you.
This package contains one PvE miniature, one PvE experience scroll, and one mostly PvE all-in-one booster.
In my opinion this is quite unfair for PvP players. This birthday gift includes many bonuses for PvE players, but only one bonus for PvP players (glory boost).
To be more specific: the miniature can not be used in PvP, the scroll is useless for PvP, and the boost is only 20% useful for PvP.
Please state your opinion here. Am I the only one seeing this as a wrong attitude towards PvP players?
In my opinion there are 2 problems in soloQ and I meet them quite often.
1. MMR is extremely unbalanced. At first I thought it was my fault, but with this trial weekend I created a free account, played lots of PvP on this trial account, and in every match I encountered players rated 40+. This should not have happened if there is an MMR system in this game and I am total newbie using a new trial account.
2. About 90% of soloQ encounters end in big difference on score (such as 500 to 200, quitters not included here). This is frustrating not only for me, but for all players, because in many plays the loosing team starts complaining like it is the high rated players fault for fighting against low rated players.
Probably, just probably, PvP needs a bit of tweaking in mechanics, management, and rewarding.

Haha : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hh5zjK7ITpQ
Good old days
In my opinion this is the best guide for ele I have ever seen. It is simply awesome.
Thank you very much for posting it.
I do not know: is MMR stored per character or per account?
Good point. There should be something like Solo Queue. The game still involves a team, it is not a solo match.
I think this new addition is great for PvP, but I also think in time this will have a very bad impact on the whole concept of teamwork. Why gather a team of 5 friends, and wait for minutes on queue for some other team of 5 friends, when you can simply join solo and get the same PvP reward faster with SoloQ?
I expected something more interesting, something that stimulates the idea of teamwork with combos, not something that encourages solo-play.
In my opinion the old PvP system was better, because it encouraged players to make teams in order to have a much better chance of winning. Now the PvP game is just easier and faster to consume.
We might aswell create some random mini game BG. Where you have to jump over sandcastles that collapse and jump through hulahoops while people from the opposing team can throw beachballs at you that will knock you down and insta kill you.
While this could be fun as minigame i dont see this as a normal battleground. Same applies to this skyhammer map. The canon and random holes play a huge role (and imo too big of a role) in your succes while playing this map, while the actual pvp is somewhat shoved to the background.
My oppinion is that these unique map features should be complimentary to the standard pvp meta instead of (partially) replacing it.
Whenever i talk to my wow friends i used to brag about how there wasnt a single map i really disliked in GW2. How there wasnt a single map i wanted to leave before the gate opens.
Sadly enough this isnt the case anymore.
I totally agree with you. I played WoW and used to think there is no bad map in GW2. If Anet continues promoting CC and one-shot kills, then it will destroy my fun too.
I hate this map because I want to play a game, not an antigame. I do not want to spec on a build based on CC, or to kill players with one ability by throwing them down. There is no fun in CC, I hate CC and this is my personal opinion.
Yes, the map is fun, especialy for kids who love CC and disabling control of other characters; this is not a map for competition, with teamwork, tactics, and numbers. It forces me to play something I do not want to play. It forces me to have lots and lots of stability, and to CC others down to worms as soon as possible.
I do not want to destroy other people game with one shot just because I can. I personally want to think my build acording to my gamestyle and my fun, not for some map with glass, or because other professions have lots of CC. I like to play a game (for my fun) not an antigame (for others to get angry).
In my personal opinion this is the worst map to be designed in this game so far. It promotes too much CC and antigame, instead of game.
Sure, it is fun to throw characters down and see them die, but it is not fair for a player that tries to think and enjoy the profession he/she created. It feels like a constant hunt for disabling control, throw people down, and then laugh at them. It is simply not fair.
So, in my opinion it is fun, but it clearly does not worth to be included inside tournaments. For one, I joined this game to play a game, not an antigame.
No. This map should not be a tournament map. It mostly promotes CC and antigame, instead of game.
I already stopped playing it, because in my opinion it feels like a constant rush to throw other players down. It is fun, but it is not fair.
