Here is another feedback, from me: I HATE THE NEW DAILY SYSTEM!

I do not know who screamed on forums wanting new ways for daily, but I got no laurels for daily since the launch of this new system. I strongly and absolutely think ArenaNet made one of their worst decisions by modifying dailies as it stands.

I am a casual player. I got no laurels for dailies so far. This is my feedback as customer of ArenaNet (if my opinion counts).

I hereby kindly make a request from ArenaNet to introduce an option for random finisher. What is the point in buying all those finishers (permanent and limited) if I can use only one? Please introduce random finisher option, so each finisher will be chosen randomly (in time or action).

What I do see potentially happening is a surge of people who haven’t played SoloQ for a while coming in and getting a few wins and suddenly being in the top 5 (it happened to me several times). Basically just wait until a few hours before reset and jump in.

@Evan, do you guys have plans to use the map selection feature to get some hard numbers on what maps players like and dislike for the first time? It’d be really cool if you guys could rank maps by how often they got voted for at the end of seasons.

Map selection will absolutely give us delicious metrics.

What if map voting is 50%-50% (Red team votes A map, Blue team votes B map)? Which map is chosen ( A or B )?

I personally love the idea of not allowing character swapping at all (not even in preparation time), because it will remove any form of exploiting MMR, will remove the disconnections and panic of leavers, and will force players to actually think and try to adapt to what they got on that specific match. Professions and combos will be forced to become more dynamic, and not just about meta builds.

An idea to remove dishonor would be 1 Gold. Pay 1 Gold penalty and dishonored is removed instantly so the fun can continue with friends. This 1 Gold should not be requested if all members were disconnected due to server fault.

First of all, the title of this topic is wrong. Dishonor will not catch everyone. Take me for example, I no longer PvP, so dishonor can never catch me if I never PvP.

Second, the dishonor is a good measure to punish the leavers. Lots of players and many leavers complained about the 4v5 situation. Now there is a good solve to this. There is no point in forcing any player to rejoin the game and create more rage (with verbal abuse) on him from other players, when he/she can be punished with dishonor, and be left back to PvE for a while to calm down.

From what I understand you can’t switch. If you get a match as a warrior, you need to stick to that warrior. Leaving the match kicks you out and gives you dishonored.
This due to the fact that each of your different classes will have their own MMR. I.e. if you have 10 matches on warrior, you get put into a game were people have about the same amount of matches on their class. You can’t Q as a newbie warrior and the switch to your thief you’ve played for say 500 matches.
I think that’s how it works, so don’t take my words as final pretty sure Justin will be able to answer your question much better.

From what I understand the disconnect and dishonored refers to the play itself, and not to those 2 minutes of “time to nail down your strategy”.

In my opinion any changes are better then no changes at all, although this is too little too late and too boring.
I wish all players much fun with PvP. I played for 2 years since launch, but not anymore, because of these slow changes awaited for long time and then coming like a short rain in the desert.

Most people when they receive an item/skin, they do not come on forums posting about it because of the excitement and desire to enjoy the item/skin, therefore it is very unlikely someone will make a screenshot of that mail before receiving it’s content for the purpose of posting it in forums as proof for other players.

In my opinion, at level 80 with PvE, the XP Bar (down on screen) is not very usefull, taking up graphical space just for a random daily (Leveler) and a skill point.

Do you also feel a necessity for a simple option to Disable/Enable XP bar?

Please state your answers with arguments, in hope that ArenaNet staff will read them.

According to official news “Molten Alliance Mining Pick”, “Fused Molten Logging Axe” and “Fused Molten Sickle” are available in Gem Store. However the news does not state for how long; will these be in Gem Store forever?

In tooltip of “Molten Alliance Mining Pick” is stated “Available for a limited time only”, but the other 2 tools do not have this information. Are these also available for a limited time only?

Whenever I change all my character dyes, the miniature gets unset and finisher is set to “Basic Finisher”.

Simulation: open hero-panel, change all character dyes and apply, close hero panel, reopen hero panel, check finisher and miniature.

Please confirm this (by as many people as possible) so this can get Anet attention.

Nerf Rangers

Rangers are the best right now. They can pewpew like crazy from far away, extremely fast. Targets go down in 2 or 3 seconds. If targets approach, I get to push and CC them. Simply awesome. I love it.

Probably the fastest way to get level is go into “Solo Arena”, sit and wait to finish (meanwhile you can eat, drink, or read something), and then repeat. Try to avoid people whispers and complains about 4v5. For about every loss you will get gold, rewards and rank points.

Or just simply stand behind an object, or find cover in angled terrain.
An attack that completely useless and can be blocked by terrain is not strong.

A game’s dps balance should not be done based on dodge or evade or reflect or invulnerability.

While I know there are definitely counters to the current power rangers, it doesn’t address the core issue that this game has and how bad the balance team is. Absolutely every skill in this game should be balanced around it not being dodged/reflected/evaded/blocked etc. If you’re balancing skill damage around those things then the sky is the limit for damage and combat becomes a game of who runs out of them first. That creates combat that has basically no strategy or tactics, aka shallow. Then you have the issues of when you don’t see the animation or have a dodge/block/etc up and someone gets insta-gibbed. It’s not fun in the least to be killed instantly from nowhere. GW2 has struggled with this problem from day 1(beta actually) and the devs still do not seem to get it. The balance in the game is just all over the map with zero consistency, it’s a game of extremes and that doesn’t make for fun combat or diverse builds.

+1. This is the truth. Balance of game dps should not be done based on dodge/reflect/evade/block. Power ranger is now an overpowered machine-gun ranger.

Game is unbalanced in my opinion too, and it is sad to see players go, but then again he is not the first, nor the last to leave this game; and we all know it. Someone else will take his place and the product will go on to bring profit just like nothing happened in this consumers society.

Nerf Rangers

I totally agree rangers need a nerf to all that damage and speed. The idea for buffing power rangers to this state is absolutely horrible and brings a huge unbalance to the game PvP and teamwork.
It is sad, because I know a change will exist, after many complaints, at the next feature patch (when it will be).

or why nearly everbody whine hard about longbow power ranger builds?

i know much good players stoped playing this game,
but really, is there nobody left who is able to EASY handle power rangers?

it’s interesting how everybody starts whinig hard for anets help to nerf power ranger builds fast again if they get a bit dangerous and more then a complete freekill.

this profession/build is not even in the state to get good for tpvp teams, but peoples already cry like babys.

i don’t see power rangers in a big advantage if they have to face this profession builds.

vs some of them i think a power ranger have even big problems to deal enough damage before he get outsustained really fast (celestial, burning etc.)
and if you lose vs a longbow power ranger when you use one of this profession builds, the power ranger deserved the win vs you (if it was a 1vs1 situation)
in a teamfight situation ofc you have to target a power ranger, but that is the same like you have to target a necro really fast.
and if you do this a power ranger will also die fast.

at least power ranger is a high risk build, you can die really fast if you don’t watch the enemy animations well.
so stop whine on ranger before you started whine on builds like celestial d/d or staff elementalist, sodier warrior, turret engi and all this nice tanky cheese also deal much damage.

You probably do not get it. Power ranger is no longer power ranger, it is machine-gun ranger. He kills a player extremely fast, from range (aka distance), so fast the target can not reach him. That is why so many people (aka customers) complain and consider it overpowered (or unbalanced).

Miniatures Hidden - But Map Full

I know miniatures are hidden “due to rising player population”.
But how miniatures exist, then are hidden, on a map with reached maximum players and queue, such as WvW Borderlands?

This does not make sense. I waited a queue of 37, entered map, had miniature for about 15 minutes, then it disappears with message “Miniatures have been hidden due to rising player population” when there was queue for the map all the time. So what rising player population is there, when the map already is full with maximum capacity reached, and queue created?

Target of gaming changes according to money.
Now the majority of customers with money are children, not mature people, therefore if children need AI builds in order to have fun and help them being competitive, then that is what they will get. When children are happy, they will play more and buy finishers and skins to feel special and the best in PvP.

UPDATE: Due to overwhelming player response, we have decided to keep ranks in PvP. We will be looking at rebalancing later tiers to make them more achievable. Because we will be keeping the rank system, at this time we are no longer planning to move rank finishers to ladders, create alternate rank finishers, or award special legacy titles. Thank you to all the players who provided their feedback and came out in favor of keeping ranks.

ArenaNet did some selling to PvP section in the past, but my guess is that after September 2014 patch those sells will drop a lot for the following reasons:

1. Skins – why buy skins when there is “standard models” so you can only show to 50% of players (your team)?!
2. Finishers – why buy finishers when the rank 70 and 80 finishers are the most wanted?
3. Boosts – why buy boosts when you can not even use them in PvP?
4. Crafting – there is no crafting required in PvP.
5. Minis – Miniatures can not be used in PvP, nor will they fight by your side.
6. Entertainments – Box of Fun and Boblehead Lab can not be used in PvP.

These reasons are the exact point to why they do not care much about PvP – it does not sell as PvE does.

The above statements are my personal opinion. I may be wrong, but only time tells.

About 1 year and 2 months ago Skyhammer was announced and players were very happy because a new map was coming.

The map was launched an people started complaining for not having enough CC to send characters down like Necro and Engi and Guardian have.

Then the big farming for glory and ranks (under B point) started on this map, and a few people got banned for it.

The map got modified and adjusted so people can no longer farm it, but players found another spot for farming (on the edge, under B).

The glory got removed (the ranks were planned too for ladders and seasons, but players where overwhelming on forums in keeping ranks, and so ranks were not removed). The farming slowly ended.

Farming was lost, map was modified, now started the real complaining from players actually playing and going down from crowd control.

The map was removed from TeamPvP but was kept in SoloQ and Hotjoin.

People playing SoloQ and Hotjoin still complain about it, 1 year after release.

In my opinion this is what happens when a game has professions with crowd control for antiplay instead of play, we get many people unhappy and 1 year of complaining with requests for map removal and balancing. I strongly think this map has the most complains in this forum, generally because of crowd control not being fun when received.

I like close matches, however sometimes they make me want to pull my teeth out. I’ll give an example of a game I had the other day.

It was on Kyhlo and we were down 470-465, however we had home and mid. For some reason the player at home decides to go get the treb kit and repair the treb, even though we were winning at mid. While this is happening a player simply goes to home and decaps it and we lose 500-498.

This is what happens when you play SoloQ and Hotjoin instead of TeamPvP with voice chat for proper team coordination.

More than two years of the immobilize bug

Please try to understand: this exists for 2 years; it is not a bug, but a feature triggered by the Crowd Control we all love and want more and more (and we never can get enough) in gaming.

To effectively and professionally use or escape this feature purchase a keyboard with macro keys (to bind /sit or /dance or /sleep or /bow commands in one special button); or a keyboard software (to bind those commands in some other keyboard button).
Consider this exceptional feature an instant CC-break advantage that other players do not have, allowing you to own them and making you imba.

There is something fundamentally wrong with your post, and it’s saying that ladders have been abandoned because ranks and finishers won’t be in it.

There is nothing to suggest that is the case. Don’t try and convince people that the entire project was abandoned and tossed because there’s a post saying that Ranks were separated. You can’t possibly know that!

It is 9 months since that post. I am not trying to convince anyone anything. Feel free to still hope for seasons and ladder rewards. I prefer to be skeptic after 9 months and remain with my initial reply that “this idea was officially abandoned on December-2-2013 because customers (aka players) requested it multiple times on forums”.
