Nerf Celestial Already

Celestial is not overpowered. It slowly gets overpowered by the easy mechanics and crowd-controls providing it time to stack might for bursting down the target.

In essence, a celestial should die easy, but when that celestial disables the oponent with lots of CC, antigame (such as invulnerability), and bunking abilities; then that celestial gets more and more time to stack might and become a big problem.

Celestial is just stats for a mediocre build (not enough damage, not enough bunking, not enough support). What makes the difference is the chance to obtain time with CC and antigame for stacking might.

ArenaNet nerfed might, but that was not the solution. That decision canceled a bit of effect or results, but it did not eliminate the cause. In my opinion there is just too much CC with easy mechanics ingame, allowing people to just “troll” on a point, waiting for might to stack.

Eliminating CC is hard, because players like it, and more CC will be added on expansion. So, I do not know what the solution could be. Eliminating Celestial from PvP could be a possible solution, but again, it is just a mediocre build, basically doing nothing but trolling and surviving long enough to stack might.

I kindly ask for any player having Royal Terrace Pass or Captain’s Airship Pass to test if they can queue up for PVP (Rated Arena or Unranked Arena) while in those locations with the permanent version of pass.

I am curious to see if it still teleports you in Heart of The Mists or not, while using permanent version. I would buy those Passes for getting to do something while in queue.

Please note I did try with the one-time-use version, and upon queue I am forced to teleport into Heart of The Mists, but I wish to be in queue, while having access to bank, mystic toilet, trading post, crafting, guild bank, and all vendors.

Taunt, Resistance, Slow? OH MY!!

More crowd-control in this game is not good. I do not enjoy getting constant limited and disabled, all the time, when I have very small stability. I left WoW game 3 years ago because of too much crowd-control in it.

If ArenaNet puts more-crowd control in this game, I will leave this game because it becomes a game designed only for kids who want to have fun disturbing, disabling and throwing the enemy all over the map.

Now I am starting thinking of returning to WoW, because they removed 70% of their crowd-control in their latest expansion to bring more customers, while ArenaNet wants more crowd-control in their patches and their first GW2 expansion.

This is my feedback about the first expansion. I want a game, not an antigame. Remove crowd-control and do not add more crowd-control, nothing more to ask.

I do agree that the Watchwork Pick is an anomaly and I’m frankly surprised ANet let it stay. However, rather than nerfing it I’d prefer to see the other unlimited tools get buffed so they also have special drops.

This is correct. It is not normal to have items (like Watchwork Mining Pick) giving advantage in-game just because they are purchased from item shop.

Either give a buff for small a period of time to all in-game gathering tools in order to increase sales, or do not give any advantage to any gathering tool to show customers that you respect your own marketing rules.

There could be added an exception limited only by the border waypoint area, but this will require too much effort in programming and scripting, and I am confident ArenaNet will never do it.

Please enable Costume Brawl and toys usage in World Versus World. Why not have fun and just troll for a few moments in those areas? Miniatures and Boxes of Fun are allowed in World Versus World, but toys are not allowed in those major sections of the game, and then you expect those players to actually buy toys from gem store and have fun with them.

With this topic I kindly request access and usage of Toys (and Costume Brawl enabled) in WvW. Thank you for your understanding.

The only thing great with elementalist is it’s simplicity in build since release of the game: forced Water and Arcana traits, with cantrips (like Gorani.7205) stated.

Combining 30 spells to get might was hard, and took time to get it. Now it is even harder and takes even more time to gain might. Good luck to all playing elementalist now. /sarcasm

I strongly think Heart of the Thorns will be an expansion (probably bought with gems) exactly because of that 75% off.

Most MMO games when they release expansions, they lower the price of previous releases (or expansions), so players will buy their products. Science evolves and new better products appear every day, but the customers potential funds to spend for entertainment are always the same.

In my opinion this is absolutely correct and fair, because the definition of MMORPG implies the exact opposite of solo play. If you consider money should change the game from massively multiplayer game to a solo game, then your feedback should be noticed by ArenaNet and release another game designed especially for you.

There is no ‘One True Definition’ to what an MMORPG is other than a game a ‘massive’ number of people can concurrently play. There is absolutely nothing dictated by the genre as to exactly how that is accomplished or what social proximities must be enforced by it.

You have a specific idea of what an MMO ‘should be’? That’s very nice for you. If your idea doesn’t align itself in the direction of where the money is, you’re going to continue to be disappointed, because businesses run on money, not should-be’s and frivolous conjecture.

This is the difference between “what we want” and “what we get”. I am happy with what I want (multiplayer) and express my feedback. You are happy with what you get (solo play) because of what money can offer.

If a person wishes to play a game alone, explore alone, have adventures alone, and do combats alone, then a single-player game is more suited then a massively multiplayer game.

The money isn’t in that direction so much. Your point is …well. You don’t actually have one. You’re speaking towards a presumption – a belief defined by an expectation.

Bold the word ‘multiplayer’ all you like and try to attempt to absolutely define its meaning until your face falls off – it does not and shall never matter, because that’s not how people tend to prefer to do things.

Source: the entire MMO market’s ever-expanding trend towards servicing the solo-friendly player experience. That’s where the money is.

And that’s the end of all stories there are to tell on it. Game studios really don’t care about ‘supposed to be’ when ‘Supposed To Be’ shoves their game away from where the money is rather than towards it.

Just kittening nerf the hell out of eles and engis and eveyone would be happy. Serously, they should have not let the meta stay stale and dry like that in a kitten long period of time. Not everyone wants to play those two professions. Balance should be done more frequently but if they cant do it then there .should be huge changes not just some minor shavings.

This is 100% wrong, and causes people to leave the game. After the first summer the game was out, ANet stuck a stake through the heart of eles and made them largely unplayable for over a year. Most of those eles left the game and didn’t come back. It was also really unfun as an ele player for people to tell you how trash your class is and to pls play anything else.

Drastic over-reaction also led to things like the condi meta, the hambow meta, and the bunker meta which were universally loathed. At this points, even the “best specs” (cele ele, engie, shoutbow, condi necro) are just VERY slightly better than the next level of specs. At MOST levels of play, your skill determines the outcome when fighting these classes. Giving a small shave to these top-tier specs while gradually buffing the garbage evens the playing field even more and leads to more diversity overall.

The only thing they are being very slow with is buffing the garbage.

In worst case scenario Elementalists have Fresh Air build. From announcements posted so far, it seems that it will not be nerfed. Elementalists will still have something to play and not leave the game.

I can’t believe this is all there is for 6 months.

It’s been over 2 years now and we still have largely the same skill set that was there at release with the same tired weapons, a large number of bugs unaddressed, and the same, shallow build diversity with still a huge number of blatantly terrible skills/traits around.

I realise there’s an expansion in the works but this game has been seriously boring for far too long.

Yet there are dozens, probably over a 100 traits. utility skills, healing skills, elite skills across the entire 8 classes that are ‘rubbish’ and hardly any player uses them because they are so useless. So how can they be ‘balancing’ the game when they never, ever in 3 years try to make those abilities viable by buffing them? Buffing those abilities will not upset balance at all but it may increase the number of useable builds by a lot.

Do they have metrics on all traits, healing/utility/elite skills in the game which show them the most/least popular ones? If they do use them to help balance the game in that positive way.

Now this is correct. Most players use about the same builds but I don’t think official staff knows it. If Anet would have statistics about this, those numbers would be worrying and balancing would be totally different.

I love that SoloQ is gone. It makes people bind together in teams, create friendship, notice and listen each other on Teamspeak. This what PvP should be like.

Not everybody likes teaming up….As a solo player I don’t want to be forced to do that. I like the flexibility of playing when I want it for as long as I want it , with other random solo players, without have to team up and have to follow other peoples schedule etc. I want to play , I don’t see it as a chance to create friendships and all that.Before they remove the solo arena we had a choice, now is either team up either have to deal with the unfortunate situation to be against a premade group . I don’t understand the benefits of removing the solo arena

For example, for pve if I want to do a dungeon I will just team up with random people using the lfg tool, fine by me…for WvW there is the option to roam or just join the zerg… again fine by me…for pvp there is still the option to go solo in a team of randoms but it should be against another solo team and not premade

None is forcing you to play solo. You are the one with the attitude “your way or no way”. Before the removal of solo arena there was the OPTION solo or team , everybody happy, now the option has been removed. It is not “my way or no way”, it is ArenaNet’s product, so it is “ArenaNet way or no way”. As a customer, I simply agree with ArenaNet and their decision to remove SoloQ from their MMORPG product, and my feedback is that I am OK with their decision. No, because customers always complain, and they complain too much. When players complain a lot, changes are big. If they would not complain, changes would be very small. It is our big and large feedback combined with raging opinions that define what designers do.

I don’t think this game was designed with idea of e-Sports in mind. Yes, it does have potential, but most players play PvE, and only few play PvP; therefore most money come from PvE players, so PvE gets more attention.

Believe it or not, outfits sell in the current state of the game, and they sell big time. Customers like outfits as they are, including me.

This is my personal feedback: I like outfits as they are, I do not want outfits sold by piece. Keep up the great work in outfits design ArenaNet, and when possible please make more gem offers, related to outfits.

Seriously, it’s easy to predict that at the next balance patch you will nerf Fresh Air burst, because that will be what all the elementalist wil be playing when they see their damage is gone from bunker.

I agree with this. As it seems all elementalists will play Fresh Air because it will be the only good option left for them.

Ele is not OP at all, Most eles played are just good, anyone good at their class people assume need a nerf or are OP.
especially considering that at one point literally the only thing an ele could run was bunker, and every other class did it all better so ele had no place- You can still 1 shot an ele.

I totally agree with this. Unfortunately most players do not see games this way; they complain on forums providing feedback for easy changes on complex professions.

Elementalist was not overpowered but it will be nerfed, weather we like it or not. It happened before, it happens again (old pvp players know it). As players we have to deal with it, accept the change, and move on to some other profession buffed and easy to play.

In my opinion this game has too many concept issues on top of mechanics issues. This is exactly why balance is extremely hard, and was never successfully completed.

My personal opinion on the future balance patch: elementalist will be nerfed again and sent to bottom of all professions list (old pvp players know what I am talking about), while another buffed profession will be overpowered instead.
We will better see this change in ESL with professional PvP teams, as to what profession will be overpowered.

Confirmed. This bug still exists in game.
It is quite strange it was not properly fixed (even though they announced it on January 13 2015 release notes). I honestly expected for this bug to be fixed after months of annoying players in PvP and WvW.
I strongly think players will stop buying permanent finishers because finishers don’t work.

PvP is unbalanced. If you do not believe it, look at the last tournament where 2eles+2engis+1thief won.

Introducing factions will destroy the game, because each open 1v1 (or 2v2) will be an unfair battle where players will start raging on forums (giving headaches to staff), or players will change factions (making PvP even more unbalanced, this time in form of numbers).

This, in my humble customer opinion, is a very bad idea. GW2 should try and continue the safe road of organized team PvP.

I am a PvP player and curiosity made me buy GW2. I came from WoW where in PvP was way too much crowd control that I hated, so I wanted to try a new game.

Meanwhile, things changed in WoW where crowd control was drastically reduced, but so far GW2 PvP managed to keep me entertained in my free time, so most likely I will not return to WoW anytime soon (I do not have time to play 2 or 3 games at a time).

I have learned myself to not have high expectations. I know from leakage of information there will be a new race (Tengu) and new zones to explore, but I do not have any more expectations for WvW and PvP balance, because of mistakes done so far in listening wrong feedback coming from kids complaining on forums. In “Hero Panel > Mail Carriers” do you see “Ghostly Mail Courier”?
This is an item added on Gem Store for a few hours now, but I can not see it added in Mail Carriers section of Hero Panel, so I can not know if this is a bug or not.

Please state if you can see it (even locked) listed in Mail Carriers or not.
I wish to report this as bug, bug I do not know if this is not related to my account only.

In my opinion this will be a new fresh expansion, just like other games have expansions. After 2.5 years since official launch, it seems obvious to have the first major addition of the game to shake things up, like an expansion.

So far I love the silence from community staff, adding up to the mystery and making it even more possible for this to be an expansion.
