Hi all, I am currently suffering from severe carpal tunnel syndrome on both my hands, and I find it almost impossible to select a fellow party member by using the mouse to heal them. I tried using tab, and even went into the configuration menu and tried to select nearest friendly player, instead it selects the nearest NPC, even inanimate objects!
How do you guys deal with using the druid to heal party members? do all of you use the mouse to select a player? I find it IMPOSSIBLE with all the chaos in the battle field, SPECIALLY when the mouse sometimes disappears!
Would be appreciated from your response.
Hey, I just want to point out that ‘night time hours’ doesn’t really cover much in MMOs. You can give a particular prime timezone (like NA PST prime, or OCX prime), or your preferred hours in your local timezone. Just to help you find the right guild
Thanks Chrono, made the change to my original post.
Hi everyone:
I’m fairly new to raids, but I’m experienced in all aspects of the game. I want to join a Raid group that accepts newbies and are willing to teach. I am most definitely willing to learn.
Things I’m looking for:
1- A friendly non-hostile group
2- Willing to teach and patient
3- Nighttime hours (I’m in North America, 8pm onward, preferably weekends)
Things I can offer:
1- 10k+ Achievement points
2- Fully Ascended
3- Ranger/Druid class
Things to note:
1- I’m a very tanky ranger, but with pretty good damage and Mighty infusions
2- I’m very flexible, can adapt to situations quickly and can hold my own
3- Becoming efficient as a druid, but would learn if taught
Thanks-
Aden

I see, so if you were to have the gold for the mats, then it would have been faster? by how much? and thanks for the reply!
Chuka and Champawat:
Simple questions to those who have this legendary: Can you give me an estimate of how long it took you to make yours? Regardless of gold and items you had before making it.
Thanks—

Amazing, best patch so far!
Wow… Im just… Finally impressed :0
To the good people at Anet:
Can we please get an update on this, or at least recognize that this is an issue?
Thanks;
Aden
Thanks guys, wish a dev would confirm but I take your words on it. I would like to play the instruments more often but my hands are hurting from carpel tunnel…
Hi everyone, hi Anet
Short question: If I were to play a music instrument and record it using my mechanical keyboard macro keys to play it later on, is that prohibited?
Well, there are other things other than dungeons that are canned: World Bosses updates, some missing stats on equipments, etc. I feel bad because there are many excellent ideas that were just not followed thru to the end. Fractals comes to mind… every time I even THINK of doing a fractal, I shrug…
I am speechless, how come was the axe nerfed this way?
Hi everyone, checking up on reddit and found this very good article regarding the state of GW2. We may not all agree; to some of us things are going well, to others its not so well, but I think we can all agree that there have been many abandoned ideas in GW2.
I am a big fan of the game, so far I have supported Anet with so many gems, since I do believe this game to be my favorite MMO, yet… why no updates on dungeons, world bosses, and consistency with the games features?
Read up or ignore, but it is a very interesting article:
https://huntersinsight.wordpress.com/2015/07/23/consistently-inconsistent/
Just wanted to let the Anet Customer Support a shout here. This is my story:
I was cleaning up my inventory and forgot I removed one of my ascended accessories and placed it on my inventory. I somehow sold it to a merchant npc, since I usually sell those pesky non-ascended rings (my bank was sooo full of them). It wouldn’t have been an issue if it was just that, but it was MIGHTY INFUSED. I am fully mighty infused, so losing that was kinda tough.
Making the story short, they answered literally within 5 minutes, and fixed the issue in another 5 mins…… On a Saturday…… at 7:15pm…..
Seriously Anet, you guys work hard. Thanks!
EDIT: I just noticed they sent me an email regarding the issue, turns out it isnt as easy as one would think, and that the only reason I got it was because I sent an email pretty fast. Whew!
Hey OP:
I know how you feel. I play ranger myself, and I feel that every weapon has its place, and needs to be used accordingly. That exact same thing happened to me the other day, regardless of my personal skill level. With the team I was in, we were doing fine, but on the third fractal the champion shaman killed everyone but me, and I tried to revive the team after killing all of the grubs, I was fine until bang, I was out to LA.
This is my personal opinion, and Im sure someone here will go and bash me the same way you are being bashed here (longbow ranger sucks, stack here, blah blah blah). Many will blame others for their lack of skills, and sadly rangers suffer from this, since we are the black sheep of the crowd. I know that there are many bas rangers, but there are MANY bads on every class, but is not as noticeable as the rangers, since it is easier to blame them. (UPDATE: Yes, I know that everyone needs to be supportive to the team and contribute, but being zerker and becoming “one” with the floor isnt really helping either!).
As my condolence for an immature action (I mean, its the third fractal, we are human beings, lets treat each other with respect), you can always add me to your friends list. I have a small group that runs dungeons and fractals every now and then, without stacking and you can play as you wish. Just play to your fullest ability. and most important of all, have fun. This isn’t a job, is a game, and a fun game when you are playing without the stress of living to fulfill someone else’s expectations.
(edited by Aden Celeste.3650)
So, let me get this straight: You want all those huge changes to the game and your only reason is because… the way you want to play the game is not the way you get the most shinies…
Egoistic. There are people who like the game as it is, what about them? And by the way, stacking in corners with meta groups is not even close the best way to make money.
Edit: I want to mention that this is only about the gameplay changes you suggest. A lot of the other stuff, like new classes or better game balance are very valid points I’d love to see.
I don’t see how it’s egoistic from me when all I’m asking for is this game to be fixed.
The way combat mechanics are now and the way the AI acts in dungeons is far from how it was designed. Anet promised us a type of trinity but a different one from what we see in classic MMOs. Instead of healing, dps and tanking, we were supposed to get support, dps and control. Hence why we have so many control skills but at the moment, we’re only using 80% of DPS, 19% of support and 1% of control. That is far from a balanced and challanging trinity.
I know many people like it and that’s the problem. There are way too many comfortists in GW2. The blocks and blinds are overpowered for PvE the way stealth is overpowered for PvP. AI should never act the way they do (following into corners and not using all skill rotations when in range under 150).
I’m sorry if I’m attacking you with this reply but by saying,
Egoistic. There are people who like the game as it is, what about them?
this is the dummest counter-argument I’ve heard in ages. Of course everyone will love exploits and use them as long as they can, doing the easy mode. But there are also people who don’t like exploits and want to play the game without bugs – afterall we did buy it and personally I buy lots of gems.
The people who like the game as it is are comfortists and they’ll like it however the game will be, as long as they can make quick gold. Who is being egoistic here would be rather you because you leave out all those newcommers who want to play the game as they like it, but sooner or later find out that their cool necromancers, rangers and engineers aren’t that desired in dungeons and that they can’t play healer/tank/support roles the way they enjoyed them in previous MMOs.
And what’s even more heartbreaking is that sooner or later, they all find out that this game is 90% melee in PvE. Those 10% are ranged bosses with PUGs in high level fractals.
It’s almost impossible to get completely new players to MMO genre in 2012-2015, when there were so many other MMOs players were exposed to pre-GW2 and many have preference playstyle based on those previous MMOs, so having no type of trinity is lack of complexity.
Hey OP, I agree so much with your statement, and I am pretty sure you will get flamed for this since many do like the quick easy gold by using stacking and other ai abuses. Many believe this is the correct way to play, and it is their right (true) to like the game as it is.
Personally, the only ones that can either agree or disagree with the direction of the game mechanics as they are are ANET devs. They can change the system or leave it as is.
I just started a small guild called KOKORO NO ZERO, just to invite players who are tired of stacking and want to play the game, how we see it, “normally”. I wont bash those that stack (Im tired of it, they wont change their mind), so making my own LFG seems to do the trick, there are many out there that agree with us.
Still, because of lack of attention to dungeons and enemy AI in this game, it has become a bit boring for me. I already have 4 legendary skins, fully ascended, fully Mighty Infused, and every other skin I want. So… I jumped to FF14 for a while. Hopefully I can someday find that GW2 has changed to become a real strategy game that doesn’t involve exploiting enemy AI and defining the correct way to play as ZERKER only. Until then, I can only do my dailies…
(edited by Aden Celeste.3650)
Oh boy… You, my dear OP have perhaps started a war with this topic. I’ll give u a short answer to your question though…
YES, dungeons have been generally left the same, and zerk/stack is still the most effective way to finish the dungeons fast.
However, there is hope for your dungeon runs. you can create your own lfg in dungeon menu, and place your own requirements. I have been doing it lately, since the system might not change or improve in any way for a while, and you’ll be surprised, many are looking for a dungeon group that doesnt stack or have a forced zerker meta requirement.
(edited by Aden Celeste.3650)
Hi OP:
I actually think the dungeons are quite easy. The real issue is how so far it has been left without a clear direction as to what the developers want players to do. Sure, they have never criticized stacking, but I really dont see how a group of passionate developers agreed to allow for such abuse of terrain, enemy AI and exploits.
If anything, I do agree with a leveling system, that would be extremely cool. I would also add to make it so that the more mobs you kill in a dungeon, the more loot (rare loot chance?) you get at the end. Also, some optional boss fights for the other non-popular dungeons with a real incentive to explore the whole thing.
I thought of something: what if there were no more dungeon tokens, instead mobs had a chance to drop a dungeon box that contained an armor or weapon piece, to which you can pick the stats you want? That would most definitely pick up interest in killing the mobs, which can reward a player with an exotic piece they can salvage for gold ^__^
1- We were promised dynamic and interesting gameplay.
2- We were promised build diversity and that any preferred play style would be at “least” viable.
3- What happened to anet’s original vision for their combat system? was it always to get rid of the trinity, and instead make ONE BUILD the optimal way to play?
4- Dungeons have become a stack fest; the camera moves at a dizzying pace and I can barely see anything other than a mash-potatoe mess of particle effects.
5- Now is either you’re a zerk or go home, to which yes I COMPLETELY understand that you can make your own LFG and such, but those who join a non-meta group are few and far between.
6- I only wonder what will happen to those new to the game, where they get harassed and kicked from a party just because they are not in the meta group?
7- The skill level of most of these speed runners is going from bad to worse; the boss just steps out of the “safe heaven” corner for two seconds and everyone is dead.
Hmm, a lot of people complaining about the fight in the new patch storyline… It’s odd, since I felt it was kind of cool seeing a boss do something else other than sit and get spanked with a zerker mentality. I liked how he moved about in the area, and that he does heavy damage.
I do realize though that some classes may have it worse than others, but rather than come into the forums and post something like “boring fight, anet wth!”, we can specify what parts are not so good and highlight the parts that are. Just saying…
I understand everyone has a different opinion regarding the update, and sure I think its a bit too short of a story, but I really did like the gameplay of it. To each his own but I just wanted to let Anet know they are getting some things right. I am equally honest when they are doing something wrong.
Loved the new story patch, really good fight too in my opinion! I’m really impressed with the art direction going on, I’m an artist myself and I was literally blown away with the little details, the conversations… jezz, you have restored my faith!
Please Please Please upgrade dungeons with mobs as good as the ones you are introducing! With short HP but strong attacks!
Please!!! update all maps with a mentality similar to how you made these new maps, I mean, they are beautiful sure but wow these new maps seem so alive, not including the players there!
Please Please add that new melee martial art class (that chick with the purple lightning was amazingly cool looking)
Again, Excellent stuff, cant wait to play the next thing!
Ouch, thanks for the answer guys, honestly that kinda turned me off from making a new character, but it does makes sense. Afterall, Anet’s gotta eat! ^__^
Are the inventory bag space account bound or character bound? Im planning on making a new character and wanted to transfer the bags from one of my lv80 to this one, but since Im at work I cant verify this.
It would really suck if I have to buy those again since I spent a bunch of $$$ to unlock it from my main…
Thanks all—
Constructive Criticism:
Please add the ability to exchange whatever gold to gems and vice-versa to this new system, including a method where we can see the graphs and such.
Anet, we, your players, DID NOT like this change. It is absurd beyond rationality.
Hi all, just trying to push this up a bit, since it has since disappeared into the depths of the forums. This glitch has been around for a while…
Please Anet, fix this bug whenever possible!
According to the ready up:
Ranger – Too many rangers using Longbow – We are adding a tell of the animation for the Point Blank skill and the projectile has a purple color to distinguish it from autoattacks.
http://dulfy.net/2014/10/17/gw2-ready-up-pvp-changes-and-class-balance-notes/
What do you guys think? im just happy for once rangers are actually good, but this will obviously wont last long since, for some reason, most players feel rangers should be free kills and are astonished that now they can actually fight back.
Excellent guide, beautiful…
Add me:
Aden Celeste.3650
Hoping I can find fellow rangers who are interested in doing dungeons, fractals and such without stacking ^_^.
As sad as it sounds, it is somewhat true.
I would rather have more constructive words though.
Please Anet devs, would you be so kind as to fix this, or at least acknowledge that this is true? It happens quite often, and unfortunately my amazing ranger looks like a bird is either pecking him in the head or resting in his head. Looks super weird…
Guys— Honestly, is better to have underwater gameplay than none at all. Would be VERY odd to just have your characters be blocked by an invisible wall that stops us from crossing the waters.
Yes, it is yet unfinished, but I see that underwater gameplay will be lifted when a living story needs it. I enjoy it very much actually, so whenever people say “No one enjoys..” or “Everybody hates this…” are generalizing their opinions, thinking everyone thinks the same.
Hi everyone:
Just wanted to post about a glitch that has been in-game for a very long time, not sure if anyone has already noticed—
When I use Swoop on my ranger, the eagle animation sometimes gets stuck on the character. Everyone in party and/or the field can see it.
To anet devs: Not sure if a picture will help with this, but Im sure it happens to everyone.
I hereby request Anet to implement such a feature. I really wanted this since the start of the beta, since the mouse dissapears half the time during combat, and I would like to AOE bosses with far greater accuracy.
Indeed! Awesome change—
For me this change is unncessary. If anything it makes my gameplay soon worse. There’s a lot of (minor but important) things I like about current tp, and Anet is removed 90% of it. It’s clear from the screenshots alone, that certain things will be much harder to reach in the future.
The new Sell/Buy huge square buttons for instance. Bad bad bad. Sorrie, it may be good for new players but it isn’t for vets. In a split second, i can now without a doubt go from buy listing, sell listing, selling and back again. With new box, misclicking is more warranted if you want to speedclear some actions. And if that happens you gonna have to drag your mouse all to the left and right again to fix it to go to right window. This may sound as crying, but It just baffles me that something that was ‘efficient to use’ will now be ‘less efficient to use’. Taking a step back is never good, and this is going there. You should give player the option to use old trading post, or something similar. I hate the huge new sell/buy tabs.
Trade post is something, i’d like to go tru as fast as possible. New trade post UI will prevent that.
Wow… I mean… just wow. Im speechless…
this could have been the perfect chance to finally release the API v2, along with the trading post api and all the other goodies coming along with it.
sadly, its pretty much just a mere rework of the trading post, and thats it.
perhaps, after people were disappointed with the first 2 weeks of slowly creeping, mediocre blog posts, you shouldnt have poured hype-gasoline into the fire and make it seem like veteran players REALLY have something good to look forward to now.
personally, the whole minipet and collection thing is nice and all, because i am a collector, so yes, that does speak to me.
still, alot of people arent into it, and for them, the veterans (your choice of words not mine) there isnt really anything in this. I am well aware its not a content patch and “just” a feature patch. however, it hardly introduces anything worthy of being called a feature, as most of it are just slight modifications to the existing things we have, so it might aswell be named QoL Patch instead.
because lets face it, the name change from “Collections” Tab to “Materials”, is hardly worthy of being called a feature. you changed a single string in a popup menu. that didnt take weeks or months to do. atleast i dont hope so, as an IT guy myself.
I just really hope you wont need another break once this rolls out, because the last few weeks have been dreadful enough already, and as someone who has played since launch, my hopes in you are slowly starting to crumble.
Trying to attract more new players is good and all, but its kinda counterproductive if you leave your loyal players who stuck with you from the start out to starve for the most part.
Living Story is nice and all, but it simply doesnt deliver what most people want. No Dungeons, no Nothing, just Story.
And please, for the love of the five gods(leaving kormir out for being a dirty leacher), the spirits of the wild and <insert_other_deity_here>, stop calling me Boss.
If i was your boss, i would have fired that smudge face Norn ages ago.thank you, nonetheless.
Wow… someone needs a hug… or a vacation to blow off steam.
I speak for myself, I really wanted the trading post to change, and Im extremely happy about this. And no, it is not easy to pull this off, we need to at least think about how developers feel when we as players just slap all their intents to making players happy and just criticize their efforts all the time.
Thanks Anet!!!! Good stuff!
Awesome story! I want the devs to know that good ideas will be recognized by the majority of players (obviously not everyone can be pleased…). Audrey just happens to be one of these amazing ideas.
Thank you for these thoughts. If these ideas have already been brought up before I did not seem them and so I am replying in this thread instead of the possible past threads.
(1) If we want the camera to point down at a sleeping character we would need the camera to know about the emote happening. On top of this right now, from my understanding, most players who do screenshots use /sleep in order to get their character out of the frame. If we were to change this functionality we would want to give players another alternative to hide their character.
(2) I personally like this idea.
(3) How close is closer?
(5) Camera orientation changing seems like it would be very jaring when in combat. I would be curious to hear your ideas for a control scheme for this.
(5b) Would this be like a ‘lock on target’ look-at?
Hi Branden!
I want to take advantage that a dev such as yourself has graced us with your attention. Would it be possible for the devs to fix the camera issues plaguing some parts of the game? for example, when a player interacts with an object in dungeons, general pve etc, the camera zooms in drastically. This happens most of the time in jumping puzzles, and tight hallways. For example, the stairs in the titan fractal (that big statue thingy), when you run around it, the camera just zooms in to an uncomfortable position, or when players stack in corners and such.
Thanks for the reply!
(edited by Aden Celeste.3650)
Very good changes Anet, although I would love for the dungeons to get some love later too!
Guys Guys, not to change the subject but please calm down with the dev hammering.
Thanks Mark for answering this query! This is a feature patch after all…
regardless of whether people feel this fight is better now or not, it is a fact that this was an unintended change. I know there are many out there who want a challenge (me included) but this boss shouldn’t have been that fight. Instead, anet should just make another unforgiving boss somewhere else (maybe dry top dungeon?).
This fight with a uncoordinated pug group is a nightmare.
I second this. The difficulty on this boss is now out of whack. While I understand the need for difficult content, this boss seems to be unbalanced even at lower level fractals.
Indeed it is a big improvement! Good job Anet.
All I ask is that you guys tone down the Majory and Kasmeer thing going on… I honestly think there are far more pressing matters than hearing them talk about their relationship. It feels super forced and pushed to be important when, in reality, it isn’t and it shouldn’t be. Elder dragons are by far more important.
They added new archers so when u hug wall
U get attacked, they added more
Mobs and if u kill them they respwan,NO MORE NPCS. When u attack
dulfy more
Mobs comes plus the mobs u have to
Kill near her, wth man i find this really annoying I tried having ideas to
Go in without attracting mobs but won’t work we had to wipe a thousand times to hit gate and go though and kill dulfy behind gate it’s ridicolous. >:( did anybody notice
This?
I heard about this, I want to see if its as bad as people say… Im pretty sure players will start to flood the forums complaining about this fractal if this is the case.
Thank you ANET for fixing dredge! it was quite good honestly!
I write: No Stacking, No Skipping, Killing Everything.
Thats all—
Ok i have had PLENTY of time to play this game; and right now i have a lvl 44 guardian, played most of pvp, WvWvW and a couple of dungeons in early april 2013 yes… 2013, its been a year later and ive decided to log back on to get my guardian to lvl 80 as soon as possible… but what HAPPEND TO DUNGEONS???
Of what was of what i thought would be the “hardcore” feature of GW2 is now become the worst experience of my time to be kicked out for not sticking to the general strategy of “stacking and skipping” or as it should call be called “sitting in a corner until they’re all dead and be a coward and skip a bunch of mobs completely to finish the dungeon”.
I feel ashamed since A-net has created the most interesting dungeons, without the use of a holy trinity and a variety of situations to be had within a dungeon… to time your dodges, you had to watch out for your party members and attempt to take down a difficult boss… BUT WHAT HAPEND??? now dungeons can be outright exploited by sitting in a corner and win… rinse and repeat… I don’t care if there is no holy trinity, you have to communicate properly to get passed the next room or boss, not skip and sit in “this” specific corner, and you now have to skip the next set of mobs because “they’re too difficult” ISNT DIFFICULTY TE CHARM OF WHAT MAKES DUNGEONS GREAT TO BLAST THROUGH? GETTING YOUR BUTTS WHOOPED BECAUSE YOU DIDNT PREPARE YOURSELF?
if this is the future of this game then… theres no reason to go run these dungeons… T_T i went through my 3rd run through the ascolon catacombs (i know i misspelled it) but im doing the same friggin deal in all 3 runs… “Stacking and skipping”. its not the game’s fault its the friggin gamers fault for ruining the fun… laugh as you want… im not having fun
i hate to admit that because with everything else, dungeons are not fun because of this exploit. call me a noob for all i care, its just not fun at all -_-
Hey there Zorabro, a lot of people feel the same way, but many others do want to stack. I am for one that believes the stacking thing is an error on anets part, and players have gotten used to it to the point where it is almost impossible to change this. Most players feel that this is a legit method of winning, when it is clearly a lack of competence of the AI. You will also gain a ton of hate from players who just want to finish the dungeon as quickly as possible, which is understandable, as they are entitled to play the game the way they want.
So to answer your query, yes, dungeons are a hot mess. Yes, Anet kind-of approved stacking, and no, they will not fix it in the immediate future. Sad as it is, just make your own group in the LFG system and ask for no stacking/skipping. You may have to wait a while though, most people are so used to stacking, they cant play the game any other way now.
