That’s the bleeding point of phant … it’s a 1v1 spec. You expect it to work “well” versus anything past 1v2, mayhap 1v3, you’re doing it wrong. /shrug

Right. I missed all the fun, obviously. Narsil … you don’t seriously think all the “good” Mesmer builds run PU and/or Torch, I would hope. Or, that Phant-spec’s been nerfed into uselessness.
Also – all this talk about NSP Mesmers … I’m surprised Andro’s beast self hasn’t appeared to trouble our boys yet.

That question’s answer honestly depends on multiple variables.

1. What build I’m running
2. Solo/small-man vs. Zerg combat.
3. The skill of enemy combatants

In general, my condi-builds run with koi cake/tuning crystal, my defense or healer specs run with Lemongrass (to compliment their Superior Melandru setups). My Evasion Thief always runs with Lemongrass/Sharpening Stones … more power for killing, and some help on condi-clears, since folk can see her rolling up to gank ’em.

I personally wouldn’t go for full Celestial … although, I’ve been having a good deal of fun with Celestial trinkets and swappable armorsets. As for runes, if you want to be a “true” jack-of-all-trades, why not run Superior Traveler’s? Get a bit of all stats, and OOC speed.

They could be twins whose Mesmer abilities strengthen by gestalt. It’d explain some of the ridiculous levels of Mindkitten they both pull off.

• Jennah Mindkittening an entire army of Kralk’s punks
• Anise putting an illusion on the PC that doesn’t require physical proximity to upkeep
• Also goes well with the lore, RE: Lyssa.

As for appearance differences, it makes more sense to differ, so as to deflect any troublesome questions?

I’d love to know what Mesmer you’re fighting, Mosharn. Permastealth’s not a Mesmer trick. You’re lucky to see a 6 second Stealth, and that requires 30 in Chaos + using Mass Invis. And, the c/d on Mesmer stealth-moves is pretty nasty, compared to even a non-SA Thief.

Alright, WarLord. Got an idea for you. As typical, I’m sure someone from this thread’s planning a Fight Club. Show up, man – you:

1. Have nothing to lose
2. Are obviously sure of your capabilities
3. Can hash out some of your … issues … with our folk.

Hell, I’m tempted to appear … and usually don’t bother.

Trust me, Intertwine … I didn’t change it. The entire point was that I enjoy amusing match-up titles.

Superior Runes of the Traveller. Superior Runes of Speed are supposed to, as well … but they’re broken.

One could argue that all Rune choices should be both:

1. Strong
   and
2. Build-defining.

The choice of your “final” Rune spread should feel like it means something. The problem is that – bar some certain sets (Perplex, Melandru, Hoelbrak, and others in that overall range) – it doesn’t. Now, as for the OP-ness of Perplex, plenty of fair suggestions have been made, and continue to be created. However, that does not address the comparative weakness of other Rune sets.

TL;DR
Sure, there’re ways to bring Perplexity down a notch … but plenty of other Runes need brought the heck up.

Not a GW1 vet – hell, never played it. But I’m against a level-cap increase, myself.
Not needed, IMHO – we still have a crapton of wiggle-room, with potential skills/infusion types/eventual legendary trinkets, etc. And, more Traits’d just make for a balance-joke of nightmarish proportions.

I want to say Magitech Armor hides ‘em. I’m convinced it’s like how bad most armor looks on Charr – armor’s generally built to a more “human-ish” template in the game

I run S/P on occasion. Folk underestimate that set, after the old PW nerf … still gets biz handled.

Get out of my head, zencow. I was just about to say that. Thief has nothing -weapon-wise- past 900 range, period. Which is -imho- only an issue during boss fights or wvw sieges. I know I can typically keep a punk in kill-range.
