I have all those utilites, and my OC is as stable as they come.
He has his 4670K at 4.8Ghz. MOST of those chips require 1.38v to reach that clock. If he is using the stock intel cooler, or a Hyper 212Evo, his CPU is going to overheat with this game (due to the single threaded performance) and will become throttled. He needs a bigger cooler to push 4.8ghz or to be using water cooling.
Your game tips don’t cover that kind of data, yet.
Using a full water setup. Swiftech D5 pump, 1x 240 Rad, 1x 120 Rad, EK blocks for CPU / GPUs. CPU temp hardly raises above 50* gaming, GPU’s stay around 45*
How are you testing your OC? and what voltage did you push to get the 4.8ghz?
Unless you run something like AIDA64 or Prime95 for several hours, you are not stable.
Prime95 is a no go for me, i use aida / x264

Also using unigine valley to dial in GPUs

Why is Prime95 a no go?
Just bad rumors about cooking haswell processors. I more or less avoided it prior to going with my water loop. It’s probably safe on temps now. Standard is aida64 / x264 most people I know don’t even both with p95.
Remove Local.Dat,located in C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Guild Wars 2.
You have to reset your video settings ingame afterwards again.
Also do a repair on your client- Rightclick the gw2 shortcut and add /repair behind the commandline parameter so it looks like “C:\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” /repair
Then restart gw2 and let it verify and repair your files.
Also try running the game on one gpu and look if your gpu’s are running at x16.
It’s really difficult to reach higher values than 75-80% of cpu usage. That would require all 4 cores running at maximum, and this game only stresses one/two core to their maximum, the rest are less used.
But you should have higher gpu usage. I have a r9 285 and I think it reaches 100% most of the times.
I think SLI and pcie speeds could be the problem. Try to play with just one gpu and make sure it runs at x16.

I know, in a mob of people you can’t expect a solid 60FPS especially with all settings maxed.
However, I feel I’m getting extremely low FPS considering my hardware.
I’m currently getting 35-40FPS idle at WPs and 15-20 FPS in zerg fights.
My hardware:
i5 4670k @ 4.8ghz
GTX 760 (x2 SLI) @ 1300mhz
16Gb ddr3 1600
27" 1080p 60hz monitor
Full water setup GPU peaks around 45*, CPU around 50* while gaming
All drivers up to date
According to MSI afterburner and HWinfo my CPU / GPU are being way under utilized.
CPU never breaks 75% load, like ever during gameplay even in full zerg
GPUs rarely break 65% load even memory usage isn’t maxed (2gig each card)
Are any condimancers running full dire in wvw? (armor / weaps / trinkets)
I’m wearing dire armor / rabid weapons and trinkets. But my server is matched up against a server that greatly out numbers us. I need to pickup some more durability.
The only other boss with loot like Teq is Triple Trouble (3 headed wurm). Other than that, look up the world boss timers and jump on the train. If you’re looking for money and/or loot, your best bet is dungeons and fractals.

I was more or less concerned with missing out on bosses that give chests / ascended gear like Teq.
What are the best bosses to do on a daily basis? I usually do Tequatl daily, loot is always fantastic. The few times I’ve attempted other world bosses the loot was hardly worth the time.
Was this 15 FPS in the proximity of 100+ people then, or normal gameplay?
On high settings, I get ~80-100 FPS, ~20-30 in zergs with an i7 2600k 4.6 GHz OC, 770 GTX, 1920×1080. Anti-aliasing disabled and model limit/quality on medium.
You’d be correct. Normal gameplay is steady 60.
Anytime anything is happening in zerg form its poop.
What are your opinions of the new borderlands map?
I’m a little indifferent.
A few things that bug me
Brown. Ugly brown. It looks like the majority of the map is going to be brown which dulls the mind after awhile. I much prefer green. Toss a desert area here and there sure, but not the majority.
Complexity of map design. The acronym K.I.S.S. comes to mind. Sure it’s going to be a great change of pace having all those caves and different levels to explore. What about lower population servers? What about off peak hours? Even now on a WvW map that is mostly flat it’s hard to run into enemy groups off peak hours.
It looks like there are a lot of gimmicky quirk type mechanics being used with various jumps and what not. Again, K.I.S.S. most of the players I play with simply want to ball up and skirmish it out with other death balls. With all the new elements in the new map it will make the map far less efficient for zerg battles as say, a green field.
I don’t know, I don’t want to be a negative Nancey or a Debbie downer. Just my initial thoughts after watching the video.
Is there a way to disable email verification? My connection is on a VPN and my IP is always changing. Having to check email before I login every time is getting annoying.
I’ve just finished grinding full set of Ascended gear for my Necromancer! My first and only character with Ascended pieces. I like it alot, very tanky super hard to kill with a decent amount of CC. However, damage output is a little low. I’d like to pickup some damage without scraficing any surviability or as little as possible.
I’m currently running:
-0/6/4/0/4
-Dire Armor
-Rabid Weapons / Trinkets
-Runes of the Krait
-Sigil of Geomancy and Energy in Weapons
Swaping in perplexity runes, and torment sigil for confusion + torment. Also going 6/4/0/0/4 for reapers might, chill of death, dhummfire, hemo, terror, unyeilding blast, and master of terror. that way i have pretty much every condition able to be put up as well as rainting the fear traits.
I’ve just recently been moved to 3rd shift and I’m having trouble catching guild fractal / dungeon / mission events.
My home server is ehemry bay and my work schedule is 7pm-7am ESTERN with my only day off being Saturday.
Looking for a group or person to run daily dungeon / fractal with around 3pm-6pm eastern. As well as a guild that runs missions during this time or perhaps on Saturdays between noon-9pm
I am a returning player so I’m still learning encounters. I usually do fractals 1-9.
Any help is greatly appreciated! My quest for ascended gear is at a stand still

I don’t really care to do fractals I’m not a big pve guy. More focused on getting ascended for wvw. Not really looking for AR gear to do 10+

Changes to daily login rewards have helped me a ton with laurels.
I was aiming for weapons first its just super expensive. Looks like I’m going to have to do ALOT more pve then I wanted.
I was more wondering if there are any events I should try to get in on like tequatl. Doesn’t take very long and rewards are great. I can usually only stomach 1 fractal run a day.
Days like today are great for getting relics.
You can get 3 just for finishing a scale 1 set.

Minions aren’t fixed before or with the arrival of the new xpac?
I tried a minion build for casual pve farming and it was absolutely unacceptable the amount of damage I was putting out while having them bug out every fight.
It seriously boggles my mind that they are still completely worthless bugging out 99% of the time. Minions being a huge part of what the necro is (or could be rather) and not have them functioning is game breaking at times. Granted they probably won’t ever be in meta builds I’ve always enjoyed minion classes something about raising dead minions is exciting. GW1 was FANTASTIC, disappointing that they don’t do their predecessors justice.
I for one am upset that it has gone on this long, and if they think I’m going to shell out cash for an expansion while shipping it with broken mechanics they’ve got another thing coming.
Took a break. Leveled to 80. Acquried two full sets of exotic gear (pve, and wvw)
Currently my daily list is:
-Complete the dailies (spvp first, wvw second, usually don’t do PvE unless its fractal)
-1 Fractal 1-9 run (because I’m noob, and getting groups is hard with my work schedule)
-Tequatl once a day
-Living story 1 hour a day (currently on episode 5 trying to complete)
-Cursed shore Ancient bone farming 1 hour (need 250 for my ascended back, only have 3 bones after days of farming ><)
My current goal is to obtain a full set of ascended gear. I’ve got a chest piece, and an amulet already. Nothing else.
I started leveling atrifacting and tailoring but I’ve only got about 30g to my name right now and it’s rather expensive.
My question is, are there any other big ticket events / dungeons / etc I should be doing? I’m not sure what else there is…
With vital persistence I can sit in DS forever. Granted I’m only auto-attacking and getting two rotations of skills off each time. I’m absoring TONS of damage.
Very true. I have staff #4 and consume conditions though.
I want to focus on being the most absolute tank possible followed by having the most CC possible. After that I’ll see what adjustments I can make to up the damage.
But I think I’m pretty close if not already there as far as tank / CC is concerned

I’m trying to be as tanky as possible focusing on CC over damage. She’s a tanky little beast. Vital persistence is OP as all get out. I usually DS to absorb damage not dish it out. I’ll give path of midnight a shot though!

I’m going to change runes to krait runes as suggested above. Still looking into correct sigils.
I think I have combos figured out. But I’m not sure how staff #3 and #4 are a combo?
I had to Google stability I was unaware how important that is. I was also unaware that corruption boon fears. I usually use it when I see tons of boons on someone.

minimizing it, the living story one seems to be bugged, if you try to quit an episode to make the quest marker go away it just reappears. There is also an option to turn off the content guide if that helps you. If its off, events will still show, it just wont point you to stuff.
