I love getting talkative teams because what these guys above say is true – talkative teams usually win if pug vs pug of the same skill level. and even pug vs pre in this case.

Best time to get chatty people that speak English fluently is NA prime.

What I’d love for this thread to achieve is have people communicate more often. You know like make it standard protocol to talk to your teammates.

That is actually not correct.
Many people actually stated that burn damage was fine but sustain was the real culprit of ^2 state of elementalists.

Also the un-“balance” team employed at ANet did not really nerf RoF but created a skill that was a little bit more forgiving to bad players and much less forgiving to good players.

The only real nerf I can remember from the top of my head was the might stack via cantrips nerf.

Can you link who these “many people” are who said burn damage was fine after June 23 patch – Just like OP did with “real” people saying that burn damage was problematic.

Some of the comments on this thread boggles my mind. They are just so bad, so so bad.

Eles HAD better sustain before June 23 and even then people weren’t complaining about ele sustain. Cele warriors and engies beat dd eles on point

It was super obvious that the problem with eles after patch was damage. For people to start saying it was sustain all along should open your eyes to the kind of misinformation you get on the forum.

Without sustain, how the heck can dd ele survive being light armored, melee ranged and one of lowest health pools.

OP did not have to list all the threads to make me believe him because it was already obvious in-game.

What’s annoying is how people still wont accept that damage was the problem even after OP threw on their faces, the threads that confirmed the problems w damage

My engie carried so hard in this super close match. I received every possible capture top stat award. This is one example where personal score is indicative of huge team contribution.

I teamed with his engie and necro quite a few times during the test ladder seasons.

NA fangirl supporter here. I love NA especially Phantaram

The day after the WTS I got called an FOTM ele by someone from EU who has an alt account in NA for trolling people in pvp.

EU has a superiority complex and never seem to give NA any love or credit.

However, I will admit that I am happy and proud for both regions….because the teams all had some good-looking players. So glad none of them are neck beards.

I’m almost 20 so age-wise, I am eligible.
Skill-wise, not so much. It’s almost back to school so the next time I’ll have time to play is Thanksgiving and the Holidays.

But it’s fun watching others who are better and more committed to the game than I am. It’s almost as enjoyable as watching E! News. It sucks how sometimes I miss my queue from reading celebrity gossip.

If you’re queuing for unranked, don’t feel bad, they’re just being kittens. Scrubs often like having scapegoats.

Now from my experience, I don’t think I’ve ever won a match with 2 or more beta builds in ranked.

To be frank, I loved loved loved courtyard. Especially when the map was first introduced last april ’14.

I was bummed at the removal of Capricorn. I love that map even more and courtyard could never takes its place. Anyway, courtyard is the funnest place for staff eles. I created a new ele character just for that map.

A lot of people despised courtyard and would QQ instead of trying. The attitude problems get on my nerves.

I loved running with charriors back when warriors were a thing. Warrior numbers are down. Before that patch, cele shoutbows were actually being favored to d/d celes.

It’s hard to answer who the best warrior is without stating a game mode.

Special shoutout to nearlight and infantrydiv. I really like your guys analytical posts and not just for this post you do them other times too. Though I did like the ones in this thread especially.

As most of you saw we were super hyped after we beat TCG. We scrimmed them quite a few times lately and almost never won more than we lost. Especially about 2 days before we left I think we actually went something like 0-8 in one scrim against them which wasn’t encouraging to say the least. There were some close ones but 0 wins during a scrim session is still 0 wins.

Be it the difference in lag from always scrimming on EU servers and then going to LAN, or TCGs lack of lan experience causing nerves or something, or us just playing especially well, or a combination of this and more things, we were able to come out with that win.

And I really have to thank TCG because our scrims against them helped us a ton and taught us a new way to rotate which everyone in this thread and others is noticing via toker fanboy/girling which I’ll join that club anyday. Anyways, in the past we always leave our dps middle and me and nos handle outers nodes. During WTS we started putting a tank middle/whatever node is being fought on and immediately give toker the freedom to rotate anywhere. Heck we’d often just put 1 tanky person on node to stall/die/suicide (hello plague form that thing is awesome) and the rest of us would immediately rotate away. Which was a beautiful thing to do against Tages ridiculously strong bunker guard which we would avoid fighting at all costs. We learned if Tage is in a fight we’d lose that fight 100% so we’d just let someone die/troll the node and everyone else rotate out immediately. Essentially delay tactics which TCG taught us is extremely valuable and we sort of mirrored it. Anyways, I do not think this new way of rotating is the end all be all. There are reasons we rotated the way we did before it’s just that we needed to adapt to how EU plays. Although I will say it works especially well with a necro. Necro has no mobility so if a fight looks sour we can just call for nos to die on node and the rest of us rotate and be useful. Nos can rez and +1 or fight a 1v1 at home, both of which is something Necro is extremely proficient at.

Anyways I sort of went on a tangent here. Back to the main story line. So I actually heard ROM say this before the tournament and I thought the exact same thing I just didn’t discuss it with him/others until after the tournament but TCG, ORNG, and us had a sort of rock paper scissor thing going on. TCG beats us, We beat ORNG, and ORNG beats TCG. This was all based on comp vs comp knowledge and scrims vs TCG. Which ORNG heard about our scrims against TCG somehow so that’s why they had the same suspicions we did about the rock paper scissor thing cause they knew we weren’t doing so hot against TCG.

So after we beat TCG this is why we were so darn hyped. We had just beaten the rock to our scissor and had paper to fight in the grand finals. Albeit a very skilled paper that we had just lost a BO3 too. We were playing so well and we had gotten the rotating down to a T against TCG so my suspicions were we were going to ride this hype train into wins against ORNG which I had originally thought we should be beating. I just needed to confirm my suspicions. After our first win in the Grand Finals of the first Bo3 on forest those suspicions were confirmed. At this point I think we would have originally been completely exhausted knowing we had to do two whole Bo3s but the hype just kept us alive for 3 more games to take the finals. Me and Nos are typically extremely calm dudes and we both lost our voices. The hype was real.

It was really awesome meeting so many of you peeps out there in real life at the convention so thanks for that.
Shouts outs to all the competitors in WTS. We all hung out like friends and had good times before and after the tournament.

Last but not least I’d like to give a huge thank you to Grouch. That man has done more for the pvp community than we will ever know. ROM and Denshee toasted to grouch at the dinner after the tournament thanking him and it was awesome.

Grouch also wanted me to tell you all that he loves it when you whisper him about when you will get your gems. So keep that up

You guys are so silly sometimes, pointing your fingers at the double eles being op while failing recognize what a burden it is to have a necro on a team. It’s not the player, it’s the class I’m criticizing. If you play a necro in tournament teams, expect to get focused. It’s been that way since the get-go.

I don’t think it’s the double eles that gave NA the edge, it was Toker’s rotation

It’s actually a good move by ANet to show that the tournament players are not all neckbeards who (may or may not) live in their parents basement.

They could have done more with the videos and follow a format but for what it is, it’s just OK.

Im not even sure how neckbeards got associated to gamers in the first place. My gamer friends from college are attractive and look nothing like a neckbeard.

I play necromancer too and am rooting for the class. Necros are very commitment heavy at a point. The fact that it lacks disengagement makes it weaker overall in conquest.

In death matches, it does extremely well…especially power well mancers.

It would be nice if the game had multiple death match maps. Like convert Capricorn to a TDM sans water combat.

Another thing…celestial signet necros could beat me yes, but only if I let them. I can escape from such engagements quite easily.

Some of you, not all, suffer from tunnel vision…..Always seeing things in a 1v1 situation.

I did imply that it was wishful thinking for the necro to ever dominate the light armor. It will never happen.

3 things could occur when a team fight takes place on point:

1. you live and cap
2. you die and lose cap
3. you disengage and go help another point

Necros lack that 3rd ability. And in a capture game mode, that is incredibly debilitating.

However, if necros do get that ability, they will be OP beyond belief. IMO, I don’t think that will ever happen, thus my wishful thinking.

I main an ele. Always will.

I was standing in Sm watching the roamers and havoks, and zergs running about. There’s a WHOLE lot more Mesmer’s now. Especially in the small scale and roaming. It was literally a Mesmer fighting Mesmer, then fighting another Mesmer. I just shook my head at how OP they are. If they weren’t these folks would be running another profession.
