I’ve always said that dungeons should scale for up to 10 players. I dislike having to exclude even 1 guild member from a dungeon run simply due to time of day.
Best update ever.
I thought it was a mistake when i first shot it, now i have a huge smile on my face.
The easy solution would be to not give the class with the highest base HP and toughness the insane damage it has while being the easiest class to play.
Ok so I made a follow up video since I removed the original.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDRwo32Pjo8
It’s intended as a joke and even though the original was not intended to break the dungeon I just enjoy finding bugs.
The lack of Healing Spring is disturbing.
I personally think the encounter should be more oldschool, where if you get knocked off, you’re dead and can’t continue.
The ability to zerg rez and still complete objectives is giving players free reign to be stupid and half kitten everything.
Much like Warriors, we’re better than everyone else.
That’s obviously a problem but I’d like to see buffs to other classes rather than nerfs to us.
Technically it’s not one of the fractals, but Maw should seriously be more difficult instead of the easiest part of the entire run.
yes, you pump 8 headshots and lose 32 initiative …. the cost is a lot of damage lost, so … no.
you can’t melee bosses because of lol hp/toughness ratios, and the auto atack from pistol is very weak, and no synergy at all with dps builds….So what you’re complaining about is that you don’t have dps, utility, and survivability all at the same time.
You mean like a Warrior and Guardian?
I think a large part of the problem is how many bad thief players there are.
This isn’t really fair. There are an equal amount of bad thieves as any other profession, the difference is that bad thieves can’t get away with it.
Wisest thing said in thread.
I wish i could track my revives by which class I’ve done it to the most because it’s not even close.
I personally don’t like having a thief in my group unless i know them. I leveled to 20 with a 3 thief group and we had no issues while murdering everything. When i get a pug thief, i spend the majority of my time rezzing them.
While yes it’s a personal skill issue, it’s also a pretty large class balance issue. Speaking of Fractals of course. Nothing even comes close to a party with guardians or warriors as far as efficiency and ease.
Dredge is my favorite Fractal, mostly due to the farming potential of all the mobs, but also because it’s a pain later on.
This is pretty much the “endgame” content, so i personally don’t understand why everyone wants easy.
The problem lies in most Ele’s thinking they’re fire mages and never swap attunements. I personally love a good Ele, but there aren’t many out there that pug.
To fix the gaming economy, Anet has to first stop trying to mimic a real life economy. Otherwise you have 1% controlling the 99%.
ITT: People who want everything handed to them with no effort at all.
Buying gold takes effort folks. You’ve heard it here.
The sooner players like you realize that players like me want longer quest chains requiring more effort than just farming or buying gold, the sooner we can move past silly comments like the above.
The fact that players had legendaries in the first month speaks volumes as to how ridiculous and unlegendary the entire process is.
It took me 4 months of legit play to finish my legendary. Farming gold is not legendary. I’m sorry, it’s not. Any system that allows a player to buy their way to the top, be it cosmetic or not, is terrible.

The problem isn’t price manipulation by a select few. That’s what a player run economy is all about (not that i like it).
The problem is that legendaries are based on RNG and farming gold, instead of a long and intricate quest chain involving playing every aspect of the game. World completion is a nice beginning step, but it needs to be expanded on so that purchasing gold or even the legendary itself are not options.
Unfortunately for lowbies, AC is easy money for level 80’s. Most groups want to finish each path in 20min or less so that only 2 foods are required for all 3. This doesn’t require all 80’s, but it’s the most efficient way.
Seeing Legendaries on the TP has removed any incentive I had to craft a Legendary. They’re pointless now, because they can just be bought with gold (or real money!).
They’ve always been nothing more than having gold to buy the items required. That’s the problem with the current system.
Gold should be taken completely out of any quest chain to acquiring a legendary and instead be made more achievement oriented.
This is coming from someone that just finished his shortbow completely legit with countless hours of farming. It’s not special or legendary.

Home Instance is the perfect place to expand and turn into some sort of large scale personal housing system, complete with not only movable and craftable furniture, but buildings and NPC’s.
This alone would increase the games replayability to a ridiculous level.
Thief will never be balanced due to initiative. We all said this in beta and it hasn’t and will not change until our main mechanic is.
The problem also lies in the fact that WvW encourages zergs and makes it way too easy to move large amounts of people anywhere on the map rather quickly. This should never be possible as zergs are zero fun.
WvW was a lot for fun in beta when the caps were smaller and we could run around in smaller groups without running into zergs every 2min.
Also, what is this obsession with every MMO and making their high level zones about undead? I’ve heard countless times from players that have quit that these zones just depresses them and makes them not want to play.

Or you can enter the room and stay to the right until the NPC runs to you.
Either way works.
ummm so what happens when your fighting 10 mobs at the same time?
Equip a GS or Hammer and kill them faster.
I’m with the OP in wanting something more from shield. Something like what warriors receive from using it.
The problem is everyone and their mother is working on legendaries because it’s one of the few things to work towards long term.
Okay, who’s the bunker elementalist from SoS? Norn, looks like the Citadel of Flame set. He participated in the large attack on Stonemist Castle last night while we (SoR) held on for dear life.
This guy is unkillable. All he does is run around in the front lines absorbing huge amounts of damage, and everyone (including me) falls for it and focuses him. Also he gains boons constantly. At one point he gained like 6 including stability, I corrupted them all into conditions, then 3 seconds later he has 4 more. We managed to kill him once in like an hour, crazy stuff.
Whoever you are, my hat is off to you, sir. Keep on keepin’ on.
Does SoR still have the castle? I went to bed before the siege ended.
That would be Papaj.
He enjoys making fun of all the horrible dagger Ele’s, while he destroys everyone with a staff and tanks mobs of people.
Anet, dont fall into the same thing as NCSoft did with AION. After some time they drasticly increased the droprate of everything ruined the game. It mostly only satisfies the younger crowd. But for us who really want a challenge and struggle to get things, it’s like a facepalm. A legendary should ne a weapon you dont see that often and is hard to obtain. The game have only been out 2 months and you allready wanna make it easier to get??
Challenge = farming 24/7 or buying gold.
You’ve heard it here folks.
Enough with this nonsense. I’d prefer legendaries were acquired with 100% achievements than some silly RNG/gold sink.
I’m used to these kind of things taking a while, i played FFXI for 7 years where original relics took years. I can assure you there’s nothing challenging about the current system in GW2. That’s the problem.
No one wants easier. We want challenging and long quests. RNG is neither.
To the people that are actually intelligent enough to understand the issue, i applaud you.
The ones pulling out the “easier” card are incorrect and they know they’re incorrect. They’re justifying their luck or RMT with silly arguments they know are wrong.
The fact that players had legendaries so quickly shows exactly what most of us are talking about.
This process should take 6+ months of difficult group content and perhaps every achievement possible. Instead it’s devalued by gold and RNG.
Theres a good chance you’ll see this so I’m going to say it.
Legendaries need to be less about money and more about an epic journey. An awesome difficult event or solo/group instance to obtain a precursor or gift would be alot more fun than what we got.
Listen to this man.
There are enough fantastic looking weapons that needs a ridiculous amounts of money to make as is. The distinguishing factor for legendaries should be the epic quest and not who can buy the most gold.
I can assure you without a doubt that a large amount of current legendaries were acquired by less than desirable practices. This option should be eliminated.
Unfortunately it may be too late to change since legendaries, in their current iteration, are carrying the economy.
I don’t think anyone here wants easy legendaries. In fact i think it’s the opposite. I’d be happy if they took a year to get as long as Anet got rid of the RNG and made the quest about skill.
In it’s current iteration, legendaries are about who has the deepest pockets and willing to buy gold. This design is flawed to it’s core and reminds me of the old school relics from FFXI.
There’s a got to be a better way to keep the mystic forge, which i can’t stand but seems to be Anet’s way of making money, but eliminating it from the legendary quest chain.
The only way to “fix” legendaries is to get rid of the RNG and monetary value associated with it.
Acquiring one should not be about who gets lucky or who has the most money. This leads to RMT, which i believe is how a large portion of current legendaries were acquired.
Anet was on the right track with parts of the chain such as world completion and dungeon tokens, but they dropped the ball big time everywhere else.
I’m saying this as someone who has everything for mine, minus the precursor of course. There’s nothing special about something that anyone with a big wallet can acquire.
1- Removal of the orb buffs is a good thing
2- Borderlands are way more fun than EB
3- Outmanned buff should eliminate the 5 player limit for AOE
There should be way more emphasis on defending keeps full time with zergs so that small organized groups can wander around the maps. Zerging around a map should be punished.
There’s nothing wrong with the difficulty. What is wrong is the fact that it’s instanced and i have to do it with 20 other people on my screen.
I don’t understand why people complain of mesmer portals.
It’s not the portals people are complaining about, it’s the culling.
Personally i find portal bombing a huge crutch and the majority of people that do it seem to be subpar in normal engagements.
Having said that, i have no issues with the actual strategy itself as it adds another layer of interesting combat.
Fix the culling though.
Transfers are completely negating the entire scoring and “balancing” system.
There are no rivalries or server pride.
It’s made WvW subpar.
I hate to keep bringing this up in every thread i post in, but until they stop this free transfer nonsense, there’s no such thing as rivalries.
These builds can be 1-shot. If you’re with friends, and you should be in WvW, then they’ll die after.
If you’re solo, then this is going to happen vs. any glass cannon.
Stay away from my unicorn shortbow. It’s obviously too awesome for you.
The only way it could be better is if it blew bubbles as you ran, through the web part at the top.
Make it happen Anet.
The culling obviously needs to be fixed, but the speed hacking and POS hacking cannot be prevented and happen in every game. You can implement a system of zero tolerance along with a report feature but you need full time GM’s online to take care of these players. Until then, players will continue to hack.
The number of teams, the ranking system, and the scoreboards mean absolutely nothing until free transfers are stopped.
The entire point of WvW was supposed to be about server pride. It’s failed horribly in this regard and it’s a shame.
Should allow us to join 4-5 groups together in an alliance/raid.
I’m pretty sure we’ve been asking for this since the first beta.
No such thing until Anet fixes their game.
Players don’t want to invest in WvW when it’ll just be negated by free transfers.
Winning, at this point, is meaningless. What’s the point when there’s absolutely no server stability? What are we fighting for if not for server pride? In it’s current form, it doesn’t exist.
I can’t believe what I’m hearing is people are accepting this transfer garbage as the current way to be competitive.
Players/guilds are going to be on a different server ever week or after one bad match.
The current system is terrible and WvW is terrible due to it.
Zoning into Chantry of Secrets triggered my Gifts of Explorations to pop up. What i don’t understand is I’ve been to this zone dozens of times before since I’m Order of Whispers. Makes no sense but at least i have my gifts and icon next to my name.
Hope this helps others having the same issue.
There’s a 5 page thread on the 2nd page about this. I was excited to finally finish mine since the reset fixed a few bugged skill points, but i didn’t receive my chest/gifts/star.
Only thing i got was the title and the icon at log in screen.
Just finished 100% (all hearts, PoIs, skill challenges, vistas for world, cities and all WvWvW maps). Last point was a vista in WvWvW. I do not have all of the smaller explorer achievements like Krytan explorer (as I understand they are not required).
What worked:
- Got title “Been there, done that”
- Achievements show 100% world completion
- Character select screen shows 100% medal
- Received standard map completion chest
What did not work:
- No gifts of exploration
- No ingame e-mail (not even for map completion!)
- No star above my character according to other players
Me sad panda!
Exactly my issue as well. Sent in a support ticket but dunno what else i can do.
People are just complaining cause they do not win, or have a lead and lose cause they are not playign the game. its a 24/7/365 day long game. Not the 12 or 8 hours you are playing. People play over here from over seas cause there is more people and better game. Can not blame them or us in capping ur kitten when ur sleeping. its the name of the game, take advantage of your other sides.
You guys did it to us this week 2v1 all weekend, which was hard for any HoD guild to get in waiting in q 7 hours sucks.Deal with whats going on, get some over sea guilds urslef and work with it
Hilarious how out of touch players from the top few servers are. Every thread it’s the same responses; get more Oceanic players.
Let me break it down for you as you seem to be unable to do so yourself.
Those players are finite and all crammed onto a few servers to ensure easy wins. Until those players decide they actually want a challenge and spread themselves out over all the servers, balance will never happen.
The problem is only going to continue to compound itself as more and more servers stop WvW’ing and more and more players transfer, for free, to winning sides.
If you cannot see how this will have a negative affect at the longevity of this game in this specific field, then i don’t know what to tell you.
I’m certainly not blaming those servers for doing this as they’re just doing what’s needed to win, but their utter disregard for refusing to see why this is bad for the game is getting old.
Astonishes me how some people cannot see how having all the Oceanic players crammed on 1 or 2 NA servers is absolutely terrible big picture wise.
If people can’t see this is hurting WvW and GW2’s longevity, then i don’t know what to tell you.
